Chapter 3: Day 1 - Let the Games Begin!

The cruise ship was now 30 minutes away from reaching Wuhu Port. Ashlee was finishing watch the boat continue through the waters. Jamie left her side a few minutes after meeting her.
Ashlee nodded and replied, "We are almost there. I Can't wait to duel my hardest."
ATTENTION ALL DUELISTS!", a loud voice was heard, "WE'LL BE ARRIVING AT WUHU PORT IN 26 MINUTES! ONCE WE ARRIVE AT THE PORT, PLEASE HEAD TOWARD WUHU ISLAND'S WUHU CITY CENTER FOR MORE INFORMATION OF THE TOURNAMENT! ENJOY THE REST OF CRUISE, DUELISTS!"
Denine sighed and replied, "I really can't wait to duel with this deck. I made the perfect deck for myself."
They nodded as they continued to enjoy the ride.

Minutes later, the ship arrived at the island. Wuhu Island is a beautiful island that is a tropical paradise. formed on the former Duelist Kingdom island. When Duel Corp and Nintendo found out about the island and purchased island to produce a island that looked like the one from the games and after 20 years, it was finally opened to the public and it had many places to duel at and play sports. It was used in the 2040 Olympics and it would be used in the 2044 Olympic Games as well. The Wuhu Island also had 3 smaller islands and one held a private-owned island for celebrities and sport stars that wanted privacy. It was run by people from all over the world and they all lived on Star Island, where the employee dorms were at. The island had 6 luxoury hotels and they were stocked and cleaned up at any moment. They arrived at the island and where told to make it to Wuhu Town's town center where the large fountains where. The girls were sitting with each on a bench.
Ashlee looked around and replied, "This is the famous Wuhu Town Center. The US won a lot of gold medals last year."
Then the lights went off and a large nearby screen lit up and the Guardian CEO and another middle-aged man was there wearing a black buisness suit and the Guardian CEO smiled and replied, "Greats, duelists from all over the world! I'm Maxwell Shepard, Head CEO of Guardian Corp and this is the other half of the tournament. He is Skyler Nueman, CEO of Duel Corp based in Los Angeles."
Skyler nodded and replied, "Thank you, Maxwell. You're all here because we saw you win the best tournaments and you really want to show your stuff. This is the first Duel King Tournament!"
They all cheered and then Skyler resumed, "After this speech, you'll head to duel stop behind this screen to pick up your duel disk, star glove and money card, Wuhu Island Guide Book and room key to your hotel room. Maxwell will tell you more information about that."
Maxwell resumed, "In this tournament, we'll be using the classic Star Chips and Star Gauntlets used in the Duelist Kingdom Tournament held many many years ago. To get to the finals, you must fill your gauntlet with the 10 Star Chips need to enter the main area! The finals will be taking at the famous Wuhu Stadium that has a arena overlooking the ocean. In each duel you must bet up 2 chips in your duel and once youir gauntlet has no chips in it, you are done with the tournament and must either stay in your room or we'll have express boats back to where you boarded a ship from. The finals have room for 8 finalists and that is it. Each money card has 400 dollars to spend on anything on the island you want. If your money card goes to zero, you'll have to use your personal funds. Maxwell will explain the rest of this tournament to us."
Maxwell resumed, "Around this island are 8 different hidden lairs being run by Special Duelists called our Champion Eliminators. You find their lair and they'll duel you without mercy. You win, you get 3 Star Chips instantly and if you have 7 or more, they'll fill you up until you have 9 and you already have nine, you'll just get the second prize instead and they'll be one to two cards for your deck and if you lose to one, you'll go back down to 1 Star Chip. You can only duel one during the tournament. Also, don't be surprised if you get challenged by a employee of the island at any time. You might get a offer for something that'll help you in some way. You win and you'll get your favor and 1 Star Chip if you do lose, you'll lose the favor, but lose no star chips. There is one more thing. If you have 7 or more Star Chips and you try to challenge a duelist with 3 or less, The duel will be invalid and you'll lose 1 Star Chip to your opponent. So, don't even try it. Once the top 8 duelists are found, you can still duel until the Finals begin and then you can turn the gauntlet and chips into a duel shop to trade it for a bag of random cards in it. The tournament will begin tomorrow morning at 11:00, so enjoy the rest of the night and go find your hotel room."
The screen went off and as it lowered into the ground, 3 large booths that said TOURNAMENT STATION was written on them and Ashlee nodded and replied, "Let's do this."
As she was about to leave, Jamie caught up to her and she replied, "Mind if I walk with you for a while, girl?"
She nodded and then they saw a tall young man wearing a fancy silver business suit walk to the booths first and Jamie then replied, "Wow, he's dueling too?"
Ashlee then replied, "Who's he?"
"That's Christian White, a 27-year-old billionaire from Seattle, Washington. He is the CEO of White Industries, a very well known company that makes makeup, femine products and stuff for men as well. Also heard he has a girlfriend back in Seattle as well. He's also won at least 5 Duel Monsters tournaments across the USA as well."
She nodded as the billionaire walked up to the booth and a worker (Who's name was Mitch by the name on his tag) saw him and replied, "Name please?"
The billionaire smiled and replied, "I'm Christian White of Seattle, Washington."
The worker checked his list and he nodded and replied, "You get the penthouse suite at the Royal King Hotel, the best hotel on the island. Please grab your stuff and good luck, young man."
He nodded as a nearby table had a duel disk, a Star Chip glove, guidebook and map of the island and a money card that said 400.00 LEFT ON CARDS on it and then he grabbed all of them and left and then Judi Lyn walked up and he replied, "Name please."
"I'm Ashlee Grace Erickson of Atlanta, USA."
He saw her and he smiled and replied, "I heard about your state championship and watched it happen. Well done."
She only smiled as he checked the list and he replied, "2nd Floor of the Royal King Hotel, young lady. Good luck and take your items, please."
She walked over to the nearby table and grabbed everything and then Denine walked up to the table and she replied, "Name, please?"
"I'm Jamie Calbert of Nashville, Tennessee."
He checked the list and he nodded and replied, "Here you are, young lady. You'll be staying at the Red Rose Hotel about 3 miles east of Royal King. Good luck and take your items, please."
She nodded and grabbed her stuff and then she looked at Ashlee and replied, "I'll have to chat with you later, girl. Good luck in the tournament."
She nodded and then left towards her hotel and then Ashlee nodded and replied, "Time to go."

Duel King Tournament 1 / Day 1
10:59am
The ladies were at the coffee shop, waiting for the tournament to finally begin.
Ashlee then replied, "Just about time to duel."
"ATTENTION ALL DUELISTS!", A nearby loudspeaker announced, "IT IS NOW 11:00 AND THAT MEANS THE TOURNAMENT HAS NOW STARTED! GOOD LUCK AND GET DUELING!"
She finished her coffee and left the shop.

In the park area of the town, Ashlee were sitting at a bench near the main fountain and both were waiting for duelists to duel.
Ashlee then replied, "I wonder who'll want to duel me first."
"This must be heaven as I see a beautiful dame walking in this same park as me!", a guy's deep voiced said behind me.
I sighed and turned around and there was a tall guy wearing a mechanic's outfit with oil-stained overals looking down at her and he had a duel disk on his arm and a name tag said his name was Jason Williams and she sighed and replied, "I see your name is Jason and I don't duel anyone that gives out pitiful pick-up lines like that. See you later."
She began to turn away and then he replied, "Leave it to a girl to walk away from a challenging oppponent like me! Your just afraid I'd beat ya into oblivion!"
She sighed and turned to him and resumed, "Just leave me be already or I'll get mad."
"You won't be the first one that said to me!"
"Then why don't you listen to her and leave her be then, buddy?". Serena's voice yelled out.
They both turned to her and saw Serena staring at them both and she was wearing a pink shirt and a blue and red skirt and he replied, "You want to duel instead?"
She looked back at Ashlee and replied, "Mind of I take this guy down myself?"
She nodded to him and then Serena then replied, "We have a duel here and now. You lose and you stay away from her for now and If you win, she'll duel you."
Ashlee nodded again and then he replied, "I have no choice then. I accept your deal and I'll give up one chip as well."
She nodded to him and Ashlee sat down as they both activated their duel disk and both drew 5 cards and he replied, "I'm Jason if I didn't say so already."
"I'm Serena and I'm the champion of Florida."
"I wanted a good decent challenge. Let's get to dueling already, miss."
"Sounds fine with me, buddy."
"Game on!", both yelled out.
(Jason LP: 8000) -o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o- (Serena LP: 8000)
Jason smiled and replied, "Since your the lady of this match, I'll let the pretty one go first."
She ignored that and resumed, "I'll set a monster and a card facedown and that'll end my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I'll set a card for later and then activate my Machine Assembly Line."
The spell appeared.
"I now summon my Omi Tank T-34!"
She played the card and a large tank with a red demonic-like face appeared (ATK: 1,450 - 1,650).
"Attack her facedown monster!"
The tank fired a cannon shot and a Neo Flamvell Hedgehog appeared on the card (DEF: 200) and the attack blew it to little pieces that flew around her.
"A strange monster that was. I end my turn now."
She drew a card and she smiled and played it as her Great Angus appeared (ATK: 1,800) and then she smiled as her facedown Dust Tornado lifted up and a gust of wind shot out and blew his Assembly card to pieces (ATK: 1,650 - 1,450).
"Attack his Tank!"
The fiery beast went and struck, tackling the tank and it flew backwards before it shattered to pieces (Jason LP: 8000 - 7650).
"First hit goes to me. I End my turn now."
He drew a card and replied, "Your a tough little dame, aren't ya? I'll sets a new monster and a card facedown that's my turn now."
She drew a card and replied, "You're going to regret calling me those pathetic compliments of yours, buddy. I summon my Neo Flamvell Shaman ."
She played the card and the fiery shaman-like Pyro appeared in a burst of fiery embers (ATK: 1,700).
"Attack his facedown monster!"
The Beast charged in aand a Battle Footballer appeared on the card (DEF: 2,100) and the beast moaned in pain as the backlash from the attack made it tumble to the ground before it finally returned (Serena LP: 8000 - 7700).
"Damn my luck. I end my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "I activate my facedown card."
The trap appeared and a large metal stand with a large satellite dish connected appeared.
"It's called Cyber Summon Blaster. I'll now summon my Tuner monster Genex Ally Birdman."
She played and the dark bird-shaped machine appeared (ATK: 1,400 -1,600).
I tune my Birdman with my Footballer."
The small robot bird glowed as it split into 3 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through Battle Footballer, which turned into a total of 7 stars (*3 + *4 = *7).
"A mighty robotic samurai with a mighty sword of made of the best metal ever! This mighty machine can slice through anything in meer seconds! Synchro Summon! Appear now, Samurai Destroyer!"
She played the card and the robotic samurai appeared (ATK: 2,600) and Ashlee saw the monster and she groaned and replied, "Damn, what a Synchro."
The dish glowed as a burst of pure energy shot out and struck her down (Serena LP: 7700 - 7400).
"When it attacks, you can't use any card effects and your monster loses attack points as well! Destroy her Shaman!"
The machine went and swung its sword, striking the fiery Pyro and it burst into fiery embers(Serena LP: 7400 - 6500).
"That gives me a decent lead right now. Your move, toots."
"That gives me quite the lead. Your turn again, toots."
"I wish you would stop calling me those insulting names already!", Serena said with a sneer as she drew a new card. "I'll set a card and a monster and switch my Ranshin to defense and that's my turn now."
The Beast knelt (DEF: 300) and two more facedown cards (A monster and a Spell/Trap) appeared as well.

Back at the main mansion area of the island near the stadium, Maxwell and Skylar were watchng closely at the first duel that day."
She then replied, "Man, that move hit her hard. I hope her Xyz army can handle this guy."
Maxwell sighed and then replied, "I'm getting worried that duelist is psyching her out big time. I'm going to send a officer of my police group undercover to make sure he doesn't keep bothering her."
She nodded and resumed, "That's a good idea, Maxwell. We can't allow her to be bothered by that sexist pig."
He nodded and he took a cellphone out and quickly dailed a number and he resumed, "Officer Kelly? Send one of your troops out to watch that duel and if that guy keeps on bothering her, tell him to stop or he'll he'll be disqualified from the duel and tournament. Thanks for that, Kelly."
He hang up the phone and he resumed, "Let's see how this duel goes on."

Back at the duel, it was his turn and a even larger crowd was watching the duel and they didn't know, but the undercover cop was now in the middle of the crowd wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans and he didn't have anything on that said he was a cop.
Jason drew a new card and resumed, "I summon my Drillago."
He played the card and a dark machine with many drills appeared (ATK: 1,600 - 1,800).
"I now activate my Iron Draw."
The spell appeared.
"Since I control only 2 Machine Effect monsters, I draw two cards from my deck."
He did so and resumed, "Drillago, attack that old dude."
The machines went and it struck the Beast with its drills and it groaned and shattered to small fiery pieces.
"Destroyer, attack!"
The knight went in and a Charcoal Inpachi appeared on the card (DEF: 2,100) and it struck it down and it blew into a cloud of dust & smoke.
"Your move now."
She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Flamvell Grunika."
She played the card and the fiery dragon appeared (ATK: 1,700).
"I attack your Synchro."
The Dragon began to glow with a aura of flames and she resumed, "I'll activate my Shrink on your machine to make it easier to take out."
The spell appeared and the machine shrank down (ATK: 2,600 - 1,300) The dragon growled as a burst of flames shot out and struck the chest of the machine. The chest of the Synchro glowed fiery red before a small explosion blew out of its chest before the remains collapsed to the ground and shattered into small metal shards (James LP: 7650 - 7350) and she smiled and replied, "You now take damage equal to your monsters level times 200."
He moaned as a shower of 7 fireballs shot and slammed into him (James LP: 7350 - 5950).
"There you go. I end my turn now."
He drew a card and replied, "I'll switch my monster to defense and then I'll that'll end my turn now."
She drew a card and replied, "I summon my Evocator Chevalier."
She played the card and a fiery armored Warrior appeared (ATK: 1,900).
"Chevalier, attack."
The fiery warrior went in and slashed at the machine and it exploded into hot shards of metal.
"I attack with my Dragon."
The dragon growled as a burst of flames shot out and a Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive appeared on the card (DEF: 1,100) as the fiery attack rained down on it and blew it to little pieces of hot metal & puffs of soot and he drew a card and 4 small fireballs struck him down (James LP: 5950 - 5150).
"Your move now."
James drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Akashic Record."
The spell appeared and drew 2 new cards and he turned them around and they were a Clockwork Night and a Overdrive and he resumed, "
Your a great duelist, lady. But I'm showing you how I duel! I summon my Machine King Prototype."
She played the card and the prototype of the machine king army appeared (ATK: 1,600).
"Next I play Double Summon for my Overdrive."
He played the card and the turret buggy appeared (ATK: 1,600) - (ATK: 1,600 - 1,700) and he smiled and replied, "I'm kicking your monsters butts now! I activate my Clockwork Night!"
The spell appeared.
"My machines all gain 500 attack and your monsters become machines and lose 500 attack as well!"
His machines glowed (ATK: 1,700 - 2,200) -(ATK: 1,600 -2,100) and her knight turned metallic (ATK: 1,900 - 1,400) and so did her dragon (ATK: 1,700 - 1,200) and then his machine glowed (ATK: 2,100 - 2,300).
"Lets do this. Prototype, attack!"
The eyes of the machines glowed as two beams of fiery light shot out and struck, striking the metal dragon and blowing it to small metal pieces (ATK: 2,300 - 2,200).
"Overdrive, attack!"
THe machine fired a barrage of shells and they struck the knight and its armor cracked apart before it blew into hot pieces of metal (Serena LP: 6500 - 5400 - 4300) and she nodded and resumed, "Since you destroyed my Fire monster, I can Special Summon my Hiita the Fire Channeler."
She played the card and a older Hiita the Fire Charmer appeared (ATK: 1,850).
"That is one hot-looking babe. I end my turn now."
"Take that! I end my turn now."
Hiita gave him a pissed look and Serena sighed and replied, "Ignore him, Hiita. I'll activate my Spellbook Inside the Pot."
Both drew 3 cards and she resumed, "I'll banish a fire monster to summon my Inferno."
She took her Great Angus and banished it and the firey bonfire appeared (ATK: 1,100).
"I tribute both of my monsters to summon my Infernal Flame Emperor."
They both shattered into fiery embers as the huge demoninc-like Pyro appeared (ATK: 2,700) and Jamie saw the huge monster and she smiled and replied, "What a monster she has there."
"I'll banish 2 Fire monsters to wipe out your cards!"
She took her Neo Flamvell Hedgehog and Inferno and banished and then a wave of flames struck his side of the field, blowing the Clockwork Night card to small fiery pieces (ATK: 2,200 - 1,700) -(ATK: 2,100 - 1,600) and then the Cyber Summon Blaster glowed dark red before it exploded into hot shards of metal as well.
"I attack your Overdrive!"
The Pyro swung its fist as a burst of firey red shards shot out and struck the machine down before it exploded into hot metal as well (Jason LP: 5150 - 4050).
"Your move now, pal."
He drew a card and resumed, "I'll switch my Prototype to defense and that's all for now."
She drew a card and then resumed, "I summon my Flame Tiger."
She played the card and a fiery tusked tiger appeared (ATK: 1,800).
"Lets do this. Emperor, attack!"
The Pyro swung its fist and a wave of flames shot out and reducing the prototype to a pile of hot molten metal.
"Tiger, your turn."
THe fiery beast let out a burst of flames and a Morphing Jar appeared ont he card (DEF: 600) and the fiery attack eroded it to dust and she discarded a Blazing Inpachi and he discarded a Bokoichi and both drew 5 cards and she resumed, "I'll set a card for later and that'll do it for me."
Wow, she is such a amazing duelist! I better hold up on trying to duel her until I get to know her better., Ashlee thought to herself as she contined to watch the duel.
He drew a card and resumed, "Time to show you how I duel, lady." I activate my Clockwork Night's graveyard effect. I'll banish it and discard a card to get any Earth Machine monster from my deck."
She banished it and discarded a card and got a monster from the deck and resumed, "I'll activate Monster Reborn on the Perfect Machine King I just discarded!"
The Spell appeared and the master Machine King appeared (ATK: 2,700) and and he played a Mystical Space Typhoon and it shot out and her Backfire Lifted up and shattered into shards.
"I'll now discard a card to activate my Trap Booster."
The spell appeared and he discarded a Cyber Phoenix and he resumed, "I activate my DNA Surgery!"
The trap appeared and her monsters became robots themselves (ATK: 2,700 - 3,700).
"I now summon my Mechanicalchaser."
He played the card and the many-armed machine appeared (ATK: 1,850) -(ATK: 3,700 - 4,200).
"Time for this. Destroy her Tiger!"
The machine fired a huge barrage of missiles and they shot out and exploded around him, blowing the mechanical tiger to small metal pieces (Serena LP: 4300 - 1900).
"Your move now, lady."
She drew a card and resumed, "I'll switch my Pyro to defense and then I'll set a new card facedown and that's my turn now."
He drew a card and resumed, "Machine King, attack!"
The machine fired its missile barage, glowing the giant mechanical Pyro to to pieces (ATK: 3,700 - 3,200).
"Mechanialchaser, your turn!"
It went in and her fiery demon kite appeared (DEF: 200) and and turned metal as it slashed at it and it shattered to pieces and a small explosion happened on her side of the field (Jason LP 4050 - 3550).
"Your a clever one. I end my turn."
She nodded and resumed, "I'll skip my Draw Phase to revive my Flame Tiger."
She nodded as the fiery Beast appeared (ATK: 1,800) and she nodded and activated her Mystical Space Typhoon and a storm of wind shot and blew his trap to little shards.
"I activate Rekindling."
The trap appeared and her Grunika (ATK: 1,700), Shaman (ATK: 1,700) and her Guerilla Kite appeared (ATK: 1,600).
"I tune my Kite with my Shaman."
The kite glowed as it split into 4 white stars, which turned into green rings and the rings went through Shaman, which turned into 3 white stars (*4 + *3 = *7).
"A fiery knight that is hotter the sun and the strongest volcano appears in a huge blast of flames that burn its enemies to cinders! It won't stop until it burns its enemies up! Synchro Summon! Burn it up, Gaia Blaze, the Force of the Sun!"
She played the card and her giant Synchro rode on the field (ATK: 2,600) and the kite reappeared and another explosive sphere blew up on his side of the field (Jason LP: 3550 - 3050) and she smiled and replied, "Time for you all to see the strongest card I use with this deck. I activate Polymerization to fuse my Gaia Blaze with my Flame Tiger!"
The fusion card appeared and the fiery tiger appeared and flew into the knight and it grew larger and its armor began more fancier and the aura of flames was more intense then ever (ATK: 3,600).
"Say hello to the mighty and powerful Gaia Prominence, the Kindling Seraph!"
The crowd watched in awe as flames and fiery embers were flying off the mighty Pyro and Jason saw the monster and replied, "This may be trouble."
"For you, it will! Gaia Prominence, attack his Perfect Machine King with Flames of the Kindling Spirit!"
The huge Pyro glowed as it pointed its lance out as a huge fiery storm of flames shot out and slammed down hard, melting a hole through the center of the huge machine! Flames shot out from the melted area before it exploded in a shower of hot metal & slag (Jason LP: 3550 - 3050) and she smiled and replied, "When it destroys a monster, I can Special Summon any Fire monster from my graveyard and that includes my Synchro since I Special Summoned him by Synchro Summon a little while ago!"
A huge explosion of flames appeared as the Pyro Synchro appeared again (ATK: 2,600) and Ashlee smiled and replied, "This guy is totally screwed."
"Gaia Blaze, attack!"
It quickly charged and slammed its lance into the machine and smashed into hot pieces of broken metal (Jason LP: 3050 - 2300) and Jason sighed and replied, "This is it for me. Go for the win."
"I had fun. Gaia Sun, attack!"
The mighty Synchro went in again and slammed his fiery lance into the duelist and knocked him back a bit (Jason LP: 2300 - 0) and the crowd cheered for her and then he walked to her and resumed, "Sorry for being a jerk in the duel, girl."
He took a star chip and gave it to her and she smiled and replied, "I forgive you, Jason. If you want a rematch, let me know and see you hopefully around."
He smiled and then walked away as she slid her newest chip into her glove and then Ashlee ran to her and resumed, "Great dueling, girl. Your Xyz Swarm deck is amazing."
'"I get so much joy that I'm using one of the most unique decks ever made."
"No kidding about that one, girl. How about we join up together for a while?"
"Of course we can. Let's go some lunch and talk more about stuff."
She nodded as they both left to find a place and then the undercover cop nodded and replied, "Those ladies are going to be just fine in this crazy."
He began to leave the area as well.
