With the mission finished, and them not needing to report to Director Fury until at least the weekend, Richard and Mary saw they didn't have much to do with Peter in school for most of the day and Kara is going to the Xavier school, they began to set up the nursery for the new member of the family.
At least...Mary was getting the painting done, Richard was having some problems with the baby crib.
"I swear, I did this the first time." Richard stated, remembering when Peter was a baby and he put the crib together.
"Actually, you didn't." Mary broke to him, remembering it clearly. "You paid some guys from the store we bought it from to do it for us."
"I did?" Richard asked, trying to remember it. "No, I remember building it."
Mary sighed and stopped painting as she went over and smacked her husband in the face with the brush.
"Okay, I don't think that I deserved that." Richard commented as he wiped it away from his eyes.
"And that's why you have me to inform you do." Mary said as she pecked his head and went back to work.
"You're nice and mean to me, it's confusing." Richard commented.
"I like to think of it as me keeping you on your toes." Mary stated as she kept painting.
But what neither of them noticed, was that there was a radioactive spider from their mission at Oscorp that sneaked aboard Richard and crawled off him and started to run out of the room and made its way throughout the house.
Meanwhile, in the heart of New York, Phil Coulson is heading to the Stark Tower in order to have a talk with Tony Stark about a recent attack in the ocean.
"This is Phil Coulson, the Government Liaison to the Justice Avengers." Phil said as he was talking on the phone. "No, we changed it a while ago. Justice Avengers tested better." He then went and entered the elevator before calling Tony. "Mr. Stark, we need to talk."
"You've reached the life model decoy of Tony Stark, please leave a message."
"This is urgent." Phil stated.
"Then leave it urgently."
The elevator then opened and Phil exited the elevator where he saw Tony and Pepper Potts were in the main room of the tower.
"Security breach. It's on you." Tony told Pepper.
"Phil. Come on in." Pepper invited him as she got up and walked over to him.
"I can't stay." Phil warned them.
"Phil? His first names agent." Tony said as he chased after Pepper.
"Come in we're celebrating." Pepper told him.
"Which is why he can't stay." Tony tells Pepper.
"We need you to look this over, soon as possible." Phil said as he held out the file to him.
Tony then took it from him and sighed. "Official consulting hours are between 8 and 5 every other Thursday."
"This isn't a consultation." Phil explained to him.
"Is this about the Ultimates?" Pepper asks. "Which I know nothing about."
"The Ultimates is something that redhead named us at the last second, and was an idea that was scrapped, I thought." Tony said as he walked off with the file. "And I thought S.H.I.E.L.D. said I was unqualified."
"Yeah, I didn't know that." Pepper told Phil.
"Apparently, I'm volatile, self-obsessed, don't play well with others." Tony listed.
"That I did know." Pepper stated.
"This has nothing to do with the Justice Avengers. A naval nuclear sub was sunken in the Pacific Ocean." Phil informed him as Tony pulled up the file on it, getting nothing back but an audio message of the entire crew screaming.
"Sounds like they're being slaughtered." Pepper commented in shock and fear.
"Navy wants their missiles back and S.H.I.E.L.D. wants to know what happened." Phil explains to them why he's here.
"I'll try out the new Boomtube I've been developing, see what happened myself." Tony offered with a sigh and rubbing his head. "I won't be able to get much, but maybe I'll get something useful."
"Sure you don't wanna calling the other Justice Avengers?" Phil asked him.
"Until we have answers, no need to escalate things." Tony stated.
"Have it your way." Phil guessed and walked off.
"This is going to be a long night." Tony could tell.
As that was happening, Samuel Alexander was released from the hospital and was trying out his father's helmet.
"Okay, let's try this." Sam said as he began to slowly float off the ground, his body beginning to form a suit around him before he was just floating off the ground of the shed. "Whoa!" He tried to keep his balance as he was falling backwards.
He then finally began to keep his balance and then started to move forward a little before going off at the speed of light, his mother watching the entire thing from the window, not interfering, but worried about her son.
He kept going as he kept going as far as he could when he trajected upwards and even began leaving the atmosphere. "I can do this!" He cheered to the sky, his mask releasing a breathing visor over his mouth as he suddenly realized something important.
He had no idea how to stop himself.
Sam began to freak out as he waved his arms around, trying to figure out how to stop himself until he ended up crashing on the moon, bouncing off of it a few times before crashing and finally slowing down.
Groaning in pain, he began to get up and when he did, he was met with a gigantic being wearing an cloak that went over his/her gigantic head, that was followed by his/her gigantic body. Wearing nothing but a cloth and the cloak, and a pair of golden colored gloves.
"Oh, uh...sorry." Sam apologized as he got up and wiped the moon dust off his uniform. "I was trying to stop. Ended up crashing." He then looked and saw the being was just staring down at him. "I'm Sam, what's your name?" The being just kept staring down at him and Sam began to float up to their face and came closer. "Can you even hear me?"
The being just continued to stare before pointing out to Earth as Sam looked to see they were pointing mostly to the ocean.
"Yeah, that's where I'm from." Sam stated before he turned back and instead of eyes, he was faced with a vision of an invading army coming out of the ocean and attacking the surface. "Oh...Good hint."
He then understood what he saw and quickly turned back to Earth and knew he needed to tell someone of the incoming invasion and quickly flew off towards Earth before immediately returning back to the moon and back to the being.
"Hey, thanks for the heads up." Sam said before flying and going back to Earth.
The being he came across was one of the many of the oldest beings in the universe that are watching over the universe committed to observing and compiling knowledge on all aspects of the universe without any interference known simply as the Watchers.
As Sam left, the Watcher gave a small smile to the young man and knew he did the right thing. Just a small interference never doomed the universe.
This one at least.
In the Pacific Ocean, Tony had made it down and discovered where the sub was. It was currently tilted on its side while the hub looks destroyed.
"Scan for discrepancies." Tony asked of JARVIS.
"Scanning." JARVIS promised as he scanned the whole structure before finding something unusual. "Sir, I think I found something." He then zoomed in and revealed a handprint on the sub.
"A handprint?" Tony asked.
"It would appear to be, sir." JARVIS confirmed.
Tony then flew inside of the sub and went down to the control room where he didn't see any of the crew and accessed the security footage. But most of it was corrupted by the water.
"Damn, do me a favor, look for the missiles." Tony asked of him.
"Scanning. Not found." JARVIS stated.
"Aaand that's not good." Tony whispered.
Just then, there was a gust of water blowing behind him, causing Tony to turn and aim his repulsers at whatever it was, but saw nothing.
"JARVIS, am I alone?" Tony asked.
"It wouldn't appear that way, sir."
Then the gust of wind returned and slammed Tony into the consoles. The water kept coming at him and Tony tried to fight back, but he didn't want to blow the sub (and himself) and saw he had no other choice but retreat.
Taking off fast as he could, he tried to fire a few low repulsers and sent one missile to blow a hole for him to escape.
"Boom us out of here, JARVIS." Tony demanded as a portal opened and he immediately flew through it.
Peter and Megan walked in to Peter's home and opened the door.
"Hey, dad, mom? I'm home." Peter called out.
"We're up here, honey!" Mary called from the nursery as she and Richard had just finished painting the room and Richard placed the crib against the wall.
"Wow, you guys work fast." Megan commented on the crib.
"Yep, nothing a hard day's work can't solve." Richard stated as he wiped the sweat off his head.
"He called the guys who put it together when Peter was a baby again." Mary stated, causing Peter and Megan to laugh.
"Why do you hate me?" Richard asked her.
"You know I do it because I love you." Mary said as she pecked his cheek and went to get herself cleaned up.
"Megan, you gonna stay for dinner?" Richard asks his son's friend.
"Uh, yeah, I guess. My uncle's gonna be busy at work tonight." Megan guessed.
"Great. We'll be happy to have you." Richard said as he passed them.
"So, you sure you contacted everyone?" Clint Barton asked as he was laying back in a chair in the meeting room of the tower.
The room was almost completely empty except for Bruce, Clint, and Tony as it seems everyone else was gone.
"Yeah, Barton. You and Bruce are the only two who came." Tony stayed.
Just then, they heard someone else arrive and looked to see it was Hal flying in. "Hey, guys. Sorry I'm...not late?" He was very confused when he saw that nobody else was around. "Where is everyone?"
"The smartest man on earth is having trouble sending the E-Vite." Clint stated as he pointed his finger over to Tony.
"Then I guess we're doing it the old fashioned way." Hal guessed and quickly flew off to find them.
At the Xavier school, Kara was just finished having a talk to Hank McCoy regarding her personalized suit for her to wear on X-Men missions and was back in her room with Rogue reading.
"Why is it that you decided to go with an S symbol?" Rogue asked Kara as they looked over the suit design.
The design was showing Jean shorts with long red boots, and an short white shirt with a red cape attached as well as the S symbol.
"It's not an S." Kara informed her. "It's my family's coat of arms. House of El."
"Huh." Rogue commented. "Because here on earth, it looks like an S."
"It's not an S." Kara repeated with a teeth gritting smile.
"Heard you the first time." Rogue promised as she went back to reading her book. "Hey, did you see your brother talking to Emma and Sophia?"
That was a surprise for Kara to hear as she turned to face her again. "What? And who?"
"Emma Frost. One of the telepaths here. And Sophia, we call her Chat. She has the ability to talk to any sort of animals." Rogue explained to her. "Saw them talking with him and Nightcrawler yesterday."
"Why are you telling me this now?" Kara wondered.
"Oh, I think she has an interest in Peter." Rogue explained.
"What makes you think that?" Kara asked her.
"Emma asked me if I'd ask you if you can talk to Sophia about him." Rogue explains and Kara is unsure how she feels about that, but she supposed she could meet with them.
