Peter and Megan were sitting side by side of one another as Mary and Richard were sitting across from them and were all enjoying dinner.
"I can honestly say this is the best casserole I've ever eaten." Megan informed Peter's parents. "Possibly because I've never many casseroles."
"Really? What do you usually eat in your house?" Richard asked her as he took a fork full of casserole.
"I mainly cook for myself." Megan admitted. "I lost my parents to a gigantic feud between my family and our cousins. It's a lot more terrifying in context. But my parents sent me here to live with my uncle John to escape...they didn't make it."
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." Mary said apologetically.
"It's okay. Anyway, since he saw I was old enough to trust me to be able to take care of myself alone, I basically cook, eat, and clean for myself when he's away." Megan explained to them.
"Oh, and what does your uncle do?" Richard wondered.
"He works with the government. He never gave me the specific details. Classified." Megan explains as she took another fork full. "So...Peter mentions a sister, but I can't help but notice she's not here."
"Yeah, Kara. She goes to a more private school upstate." Richard explains to her. "She got enrolled to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters."
"Huh, I don't see why they wouldn't also want Peter." Megan commented as she looked to her friend. "He's one of the best students in the school."
"Well, they only had one opening and Peter saw it was best to allow Kara to go as he was used to his school and since she didn't seem to have a good time fitting in with his school." Mary explained to her, making the most plausible lie she could.
"Hm, that makes sense." Megan guesses.
During their conversation, they missed the radioactive spider crawling around and landing on Peter's jacket.
Aquaria swam down back to Atlantis where she saw Queen Fen was awaiting her return in the throne room.
"Queen Fen, I'm sorry to say I wasn't able to convince Namor to return with me." Aquaria apologizes as she kneeled before the throne.
Fen seems to be understanding as she got up, carrying the trident as she went and cupped the child's face. "Do not fear, dear child. I knew he would be less than welcoming on the idea of seeing me again. After all I did to him."
"What you did was to keep him safe." Aquaria stated just as Orm entered and Fen stopped the conversation.
"Apologies, Queen Fen, that I kept you waiting for so long." Orm apologized as he kneeled.
"Your transparent aggression towards the surface world has left Atlantis exposed, Orm." Fen stated to her nephew. "Do you deny it?"
"That ship would have discovered us." Orm defended.
"No, it would have not." Fen stated. "Our magic continues to protect us. We are a myth to them. They doubt our very existence."
"So we just hide?" Orm asks. "Every day the surface dwellers grow stronger. They have guardians with them now with powers. The same guardians that are responsible for my family's death!"
"Your parents' were murdered by a volcano that was not the fault of the surfacers, but the one who attacked them." Fen defended the surface, due to the fight against Darkseid.
"Death by collateral damage in a surface war doesn't comfort me!" Orm stated. "They kill our race. They poison our oceans. They will destroy this planet and take Atlantis with it. We must protect our people and attack!"
"Enough!" Fen demanded as she slammed the trident down, causing it to echo through the room. "As long as I am Queen, you will preserve the peace between us. At all costs! Do I make myself clear?!"
"Yes, my Queen." Or, promised and swam out of the room.
"He has always been a problem." Fen informed Aquaria. "He was coddled by his father, making him unsuitable for the throne. He had the chance; he'd declare war on the surface no questions asked. Our only hope is with the one who is from both worlds."
"Namor had made it clear he won't be coming with me." Aquaria informed her.
"Do what you must and bring him here." Fen asked if Aquaria who bowed and swam off once again, wondering how she'll convince him to come back with her.
After finally getting everyone back together, Tony was finally able to inform them of the dower situation they're in.
Luckily when he went back the second time for the sub, there was nobody there to stop him from taking it to a Stark secure warehouse for closer examination.
"This was all done by hand, there are no signs of any type of energy signature." Hal said as his ring scanned the entire submarine.
"Who could do that? You know, besides us." Clint asked them.
"I'm counting four dozen unique handprints moving in sync." Banner tells everyone after his scan of the sub.
"Four squadrons. This was a choreographed onslaught." Bruce figured.
"You think Darkseid's army had returned?" Diana wondered.
"No, this doesn't fit his profile." Bruce stated. "Stark, walk us through your assault."
Tony then brought them into the main room of the sub where he used his technology to make a 3D model of the attack. The figure came up behind holo-Stark and slammed him.
"Freeze." Bruce interrupted. "Observations?"
"They avoided his gaze, kept to the shadows." Natasha stated.
"These were warriors." Diana understood.
"Resume." Bruce demanded and they watched as Tony was smacked around the room.
"Who has the force to knock a quarter ton of metal to the ground under water?" Hal asks.
They watched as the attackers fight back and saw it fly right past Tony's face mask and Bruce froze it again.
"Magnify." Bruce asked and the attackers revealed to have gills.
"Wait a minute, Tony Stark was attacked by mermaids?" Clint asked, almost ready to burst out laughing.
"As in Atlantis." Diana said in shock.
"Atlantis?" Steve asked. "Isn't this an old sailors tail?"
"Atlantis was very much real once." Diana stated. "But it sunk into the ocean but the people were saved by the magic of the King's trident which turned them irreversibly into creatures of the sea."
"Okay, really? Magic? You expect me to believe that magic's real now?" Tony asked.
"After everything we've been through in the last month, you're just going to just deny magic?" Steve asked him.
"Yeah, it's because I'm a scientist, Capsicle." Tony stated.
"Where is it?" Steve asked Diana, ignoring Tony.
"It's location was lost in time." Diana informed them.
"So, what do mythical, mystical undersea creature want with missiles?" Clint questioned them. "And I dare anyone here to say that five times fast."
"Obviously, it's a plan on attack." Bruce stated.
"Hey, I might know someone who could help." Banner said as he removed his glasses. "This old college buddy of mine, Dr. Steven Shin, he had some crazy ideas about where we might be able to find Atlantis."
"Stark and I'll go question him, see if he can help." Bruce says as he walks off.
"When was he voted team leader?" Clint asks as the two left the room.
Back with Namor, he was currently back in the lighthouse when there was a knock at the door.
"Mr. McKenzie?" The person at the door called.
"Go away." Namor demanded.
"I must speak to you, sir." He begged.
Namor groaned as he got off the chair and stumbled his way over to the door. "Either go away or kill me."
"Please, sir, it'll just be a moment." He promised and Namor reluctantly opened the door.
"Who are you?" Namor asked.
"My names Dr. Steven Shin, theoretical marine biologist. Your father contacted me." He introduced himself to Namor.
"My father's dead." Namor informed him.
"I know. He was looking for answers, and I finally have them." Shin said and Namor sighed before closing the door.
"I'm gonna have to let you in, because I can't focus enough to talk through a door." Namor said, but the second he opened it, he was shocked to see Shin was bleeding from the mouth.
Then second later, he falls to the ground and Namor sees a figure emerging from the water and a strange knife embedded into Shin's back.
Closing the door, it didn't stop anything as a sword then came in and sliced through and was beaten down, revealing to have several more than just one man coming at him.
"You have got to be messing with me." Namor groaned in annoyance.
They all ran at him, Namor worked fast and punched one of them, blocked one of their weapons and slammed them into one another before they just ended up tackling him.
That proved to be a mistake when Namor was able to lift them all and slam them into the walls.
Outside, more of them blasted through the walls and Namor went upwards to the top of the lighthouses het some distance as they continually opened fire.
Once at the top, he tried using the light to throw them off, but then ended up blasting the entire tower, sending him toppling, but then was saved by Aquaria, who was now flying.
"Stand down, now!" Aquaria demanded the Atlantis guards. "Namor McKenzie is under my protection by order of Queen Fen!"
"Relinquish him to us, Aquaria." One of them demanded.
"Or what?" Aquaria asked.
"Or we'll take him over your smoldering corpse." He stated as he raised his weapon to her.
"You can try." Aquaria said with a smile. She then raised her trident and created a whirlpool that sent several sharp objects made of ice into the soldiers.
Bruce and Stark made it to the workplace of Dr. Shin, which would also appear to be his place of residence.
"Follow my lead." Bruce demanded as he walked through the window with Stark close behind.
"You do know I know what I'm doing, right?" Tony asked him.
"Then act like it." Bruce stated as he looked around to the ransacked room.
"Someone got here before us." Tony commented.
"And someone destroyed his life work." Bruce noticed. "Meaning Shin's dead."
"What makes you figure that?" Tony asked.
"You don't destroy someone's work and let them live to recreate it." Bruce stated. "I reckoned you'd understand that. Didn't you get captured and almost killed for your weapons?"
"Touché." Tony understood when he saw something in the gigantic tank. It looked like pieces of paper that were ripped apart. "Hm. JARVIS?"
"Already on it, sir." JARVIS promised as he began to piece the pieces together and he got a clear image of Namor.
"Great, now do a facial recognition for this guy." Tony asked and got the results in incredible speed. "Namor McKenzie."
"And a letter from a Leonard McKenzie about his son. Suspecting his son's Atlantean." Bruce said as he pieced a trashed letter.
"Where is this guy, JARVIS?" Tony asked and JARVIS gave him his place of residence. "Well, pack your trunks, Bats. Looks like we're going to the beach. "
