Eddie couldn't believe how uncomfortable she was. Doctor Swanson said the closer she got to her due date, the more uncomfortable she'd begin to feel. She moved to try and find a comfortable position on her left side. She gave a small sigh as she heard a soft groan behind her back.

"Babe? You ok?"

Shaking her head no, she felt Jamie's soft and strong hands beginning to massage her lower back.

"Can't get comfortable. Ooh Jamie, right there. I'd swear this little girl is lying on my bladder and her feet are pressed against my sciatica in my lower back."

Jamie continued to work the knots out of Eddie's lower back. She had adjusted the pillow between her knees and closed her eyes. She was so exhausted.

"Thanks babe…"

Leaning over her side, Jamie placed a kiss to her ever-expanding belly and then placed one on her forehead.

"Just a little longer babe and then she'll be here with us. You know we still need to decide what her name is going to be."

Eddie was half asleep. Her mind was halfway muddled in sleep, but she managed to answer Jamie anyways.

"Let's wait until I'm in labor…"

Jamie made a face and shook his head.

"Babe, I don't think you're going to be in any kind of mood to make a decision on her name while you're in labor."

Eddie mumbled and pushed the blanket off of her, leaving on the sheet on top.

"Mmm hmm… Too hot…"

Jamie sighed into Eddie's back and kissed the back of her neck.

"Try and sleep babe."

Eddie seemed to relax a bit as Jamie pulled her closer to him. Sleep enveloped him quickly. When he woke again, sunlight was spilling through the semi-parted curtains draped over the windows next to the bed. Sitting up and wiping the sleep from his eyes, he noticed Eddie's side of the bed was empty. Placing a hand on the bed, he felt it was cold. She'd been up for a while. Getting to his feet he walked out into the living room. He found Eddie pacing, one of her hands braced up against her lower back. He approached her, taking mental note that Ellie was asleep in the playpen. Jamie placed a hand where Eddie's left hand was on her lower back. The other one grabbed for Eddie's right one, squeezing it.

"Eddie, honey? What's wrong? You ok?"

Eddie tried to keep pacing, but Jamie grabbed the crook of her elbow to stop her. She brushed off his words and shrugged her shoulders.

"I'm ok babe. Just having some Braxton-Hicks contractions."

Jamie frowned.

"Babe, you should be at least sitting on the couch. Why did you pick up Ellie? You know you're not supposed to be picking her up right now."

Eddie crumbled at Jamie's words.

"Ok. I'm sorry. I heard her crying over the baby monitor, and I didn't want to wake you. You were completely dead asleep to the world babe."

Jamie helped Eddie over to the couch and sat down next to her.

"We are both tired. But I don't want you to hurt yourself picking Ellie up. You need to start taking it easy. Do you want me to massage your back?"

Eddie nodded and leaned into Jamie's hands as he began to massage her back.

"Oh my god Jamie. Thank-you. That feels good."

Jamie leaned in and gave Eddie a chaste kiss.

"Tell me what else I can do to make you more comfortable babe. I just hate seeing you like this and there's nothing I can do to help ease some of your symptoms."

Eddie felt the tears coming on. She hated being so emotional. It was ruining the moment.

"I feel so disgusting. Look at me! Every time I turn around and look in the mirror, I get bigger. I can't see my feet anymore. My joints hurt and my hands and feet are so swollen."

Jamie pulled Eddie in for a hug and rubbed her back. Pulling away, he tipped her chin up so she could look up into his eyes.

"Look at me baby. You look beautiful. I don't find you disgusting. You grow more beautiful everyday. Your carrying our baby inside you. Now please stop crying. Please tell me how I can make you more comfortable. Would you like some tea?"

Eddie shook her head and her face turned red.

"Sorry."

Jamie gave Eddie a puzzled look.

"Sorry for what…? Oh. It's ok babe. It's not your fault. Let's get you to the bathroom so you can get cleaned up."

Sighing, Eddie gave a grunt as Jamie helped her to the bathroom. He quickly cleaned up the wet spot on the edge of the couch cushion. After cleaning up the couch cushion, he washed his hands and began making Eddie something to eat. Some scrambled eggs with spinach and a green smoothie to drink. A smile grew as he saw Eddie slowly come out of their bedroom. As she got closer, he could smell her strawberry shampoo. He loved that smell. He pulled her into his arms.

"Mmm you smell good babe. I see you had a shower."

Pulling away, Eddie stood as best she could on her tiptoes despite her swollen feet.

"I'm sorry for what I said earlier. I hate that my hormones are all over the place. I feel like I cry at the drop of a hat. It's really annoying. Now, what's for breakfast? I've been snaking. I found where you hid some of the snacks. You hid my peanut butter and you stuff the baby carrots in the back of the fridge."

Helping her into her chair, Jamie handed Eddie a fork.

"Dig in sweetheart."

Eddie made a face.

"Rabbit food Reagan. Really?"

Jamie made a face.

"What? This is healthy. The spinach has lots of vitamins in it, and it adds flavor to the eggs. The green smoothie had vitamins and nutrients in it that are good for you. I don't want to see you get gestational diabetes because you eat junk food all the time."

Eddie put her fork down and found her nose flaring.

"I can't help it if I'm hungry Jamie. I'm eating for two. I don't eat too much junk food. Peanut butter and carrots are the healthier choice out of some of the other stuff I eat. Can you at least give me that?"

Jamie knelt down in front of her.

"I'm sorry. That came out wrong. But I just want you to have something healthier to eat too. If you really want some cheesecake later, I will go out and get you some. Now are you going to at least try your breakfast? If you don't like it, I'll make you something else. But you need to eat. For you and the baby."

Eddie sighed and begrudgingly popped a piece of egg with spinach into her mouth. She chewed on it a moment and then swallowed it. Making a face, she shook her head no.

"Mmm. Mmm."

Jamie took the plate away and set it aside.

"Ok, no on the eggs with spinach. Try the smoothie."

Eddie looked at the smoothie and pulled it forward, drinking through the straw. She let the liquid sit for a second and then swallowed it.

"It's good. But it needs a little more apple. That orange is kind of sour."

Jamie nodded and went back to the blender.

"Ok, looks like the green smoothie is a keeper. I'll see what I can do. What would you like to eat sweetheart?"

Eddie gave Jamie puppy dog eyes.

"You know what I really want?"

Jamie gave a smile and sat down next to her, placing a hand over her belly, rubbing it ever so gently.

"You want french toast."

Eddie nodded and erupted into a smile.

"Yes. I've had a craving for them for the last week."

Jamie gave a small life.

"Ok french toast it is. How about you go rest on the couch? Don't worry, the couch is clean and dry. Make sure to put your feet up on a pillow. Before I start, do you want me to massage your hips a little?"

Eddie nodded and managed to get up from the chair and slowly waddled over to the couch, gently lowering herself onto it.

"That sounds nice. Thanks babe."

Jamie nodded and fixed a pillow and placed a blanket over her.

"Just close your eyes and try to relax. I'll even give you a foot massage."

Eddie gave a soft laugh and then opened her eyes to check on Ellie, she was now awake and happily playing in the playpen.

"Oooh, 2 for 1. I'm liking where this is going. Keep it up babe. I love how you spoil me. Thanks for this. I'm just so ready to hold her in my arms."

Jamie nodded and smiled continuing his massage.

"I know. Me too. Just a little longer sweetheart."
