So Dumbledore's Army didn't want nor need me.

Fine, I didn't need them either, what do I need with friends? Friends who ditch me because what, I'm a Slytherin? And Slytherin's can't be trusted, right?

'What am I going to do, Grawp?' I complained, as I sat on a log before the sitting Half Giant 'Bloody bastards.'

'Mara?'

My head turned up towards my name, and I glared

'Harold, for fucks sake! What are you doing here!' I snapped as he sat beside me 'I told you to go back to the cottage!'

'Yeah, well,' Harold muttered 'I couldn't just leave you here.' his head shook, and his eyes widened 'What-what happened to your eye!' he demanded, noticing the deep large bruise around it.

I heaved heavy sigh

'Do you really want to know, or are you just pretending to care?'

Harold frowned and I felt bad

'It was Professor Carrow.'

Harold looked alarmed

'Which one?'

'The bloke,' I replied 'Amycus.'

'That fucker.' Harold growled 'I'll kill him.'

'Oh quit it,' I rolled my eyes 'you're not going to do anything, you're going back home.'

'The fuck am I.' Harold snapped 'Look, Artemas is safe with Maureen, you can trust her more than me, right?' he remarked 'You had reservations about leaving me alone with the two anyway!'

My head lowered

'I promise, I won't get caught. I've done this before, remember.'

'Alright,' I sighed, and a lasting silence lingered between us as we looked up at Grawp, who was playing with an abandoned umbrella, opening and closing it in curiosity.

'….dad...' I said after awhile, drawing his attention 'why did you become a Death Eater?'

Harold threw his head back 'Do we have to-'

'I-I just want to know.'

Harold shook his head, and ran his hand over his hair.

'Fine...' he breathed 'well...I don't know, really...I guess all the Slytherin's were joining...to feel like we were apart of something bigger than ourselves, to be impressive, that sort of thing...didn't really think about the dangers of our actions, did we?'

'You didn't think joining Voldemort would put my mother in danger?'

'Well...no...I didn't...' he looked guilty 'I was stupid...didn't put her first...when I found out she was pregnant with you I tried to distance myself and eventually they found out your mother was a muggle and sought to teach me lesson.'

I dropped my eyes, so...my father just wanted to be cool?

'Mara...' said Harold 'how did you get those scars?'

I bit my lip, my head shook and I rose to my feet

'Mara?'

'I have charms, I have to go.'

'You'll tell me one of these days,' Harold said angrily 'And I'll kill the cunt who did it to you.'

My eyes closed as I moved away from the watching Harold, who I heard turn back into his fox form behind me...

'Dumbledore's Army, still recruiting.'

That is what was written all over the corridors walls, everyone was gathered around the paint.

'Out of my way.'

Snape barged through the crowd and paused beside me, he, too looked up at the walls which were all defaced, his face turned into a scowl and his fists balled.

'What are you all doing standing around here?' Snape demanded 'Get to your common rooms!'

The crowd began to disperse, and I slid by Snape, but gasped at the grabbing of my elbow

'Not you!' Snape snarled 'You will come with me!'

'What the hell-I didn't do anything!' I snapped back as Snape pushed me on forward.

He didn't respond, just kept pushing me all the way to the Headmasters office and pulled me inside.

Once inside the office Snape composed himself the best he could and stood in front of me, his eyes glaring in my direction.

'Who wrote the writing on the wall?' he demanded 'I know you know!'

'I don't know anything!' I retaliated, my eyes resting once again on the sword glittering in it's glass casing 'I told you I was going to be a better Slytherin, didn't I?' I growled 'I haven't spoken to anyone from the Army since last year! They won't trust Slytherin house, will they!'

Snape's eyes narrowed, and my eyes rested on the sword as he stared at me intensely.

'Why do you keep looking at that sword?' he commanded, alarming me

'What?' I replied 'No reason-'

'Liar' he spat

'I'm not lying about anything!' I snapped 'I just-I just don't really want to face you, alright! I'm just-I don't know, diverting my attention!'

Snape's eyebrow cocked

'And why, might I ask, do you not wish to face me?'

'Do I really have to say?' I said in exasperation 'You've found me in a couple of-unpleasent positions, and I don't know how much you've seen of me that you probably shouldn't have seen! Now it's uncomfortable being around you because of that!'

I dropped my eyes, not wanting to see the Headmaster's reaction, I didn't want to have to spell it out but it all just spilt out.

'I see...' Snape whispered 'very well, you may go.'

My head snapped up in surprise

'Wait, what? I can leave?'

'Yes, leave.'

My lips pursed, he looked very uncomfortable and I frowned

'Right...' I shifted on the spot 'then uh, I'll just uh, go.'

I hurried out of the office, down the spiral stairs and emerged, I leant against the wall and steadied my breath.

It was true, I didn't know how much Snape had seen of me, probably almost as half as much as Greyback did.

I pressed my hand to my head 'Keep it together.' I breathed, memories rushing to the forefront of my mind of Greyback on top of me, laughing and mocking me the whole time.

The scars on my arm pulsed and I pressed my hand to them, my eyes squeezing shut in response to the pain that shot along them.

'Fuck,' I snapped, wincing 'I'd better get back to the common room before curfew...hopefully the pain stops on it's own...'
