My eyes blinked up at the canopy of my bed, my mind heavy with thought.

Thoughts of Merton amongst a group of girls as he laughed boisterously kept me awake, and very cross, I don't know why I did it, but I soon found myself making my way out of the common room and towards the hospital wing, and to my luck I didn't get caught at all.

I slid through the gap in-between the large oak doors and made my way to Merton's cubical, but I froze and slipped into the next one upon hearing voices.

'Look-I'm flattered, really-uh-Romilda, was it?'

My heart beat very quickly, Romilda? As in, Romilda Vane?

'But I've got a girlfriend-.' Merton said 'Thank you for the chocolate, but er, I'm not hungry so I'll eat them later.'

'Maybe if you just try one cauldron-'

'I'm sorry, Romilda, you should go back to your common room before you're caught, I wouldn't want you to get hurt by one of the Carrows.'

Romilda huffed

'What do you see in Morris anyway?' Romilda demanded 'She's a weirdo. Not to mention a Slytherin, and not very good looking.'

'I think she's beautiful,' Merton said an affronted tone and my heart skipped a beat 'Listen, take my advice and get going, I'll feel guilty if I learn you get in trouble.'

Romilda sighed 'Alright I'll-I'll leave you alone. I just thought-I don't know...'

'I'm sorry,' said Merton 'But I love my girlfriend, I'm sure you'll find someone.'

I heard a sniffle from Romilda as she exited the cubical, and I stood there, frozen, so, all this time I really didn't have anything to worry about with these other girls?

It was just in my head?

When the doors creaked shut behind Romilda, I entered the cubical through the curtain.

'Mara!' Merton whispered in disbelief 'How-how long have you-'

'Long enough.' I said stiffly

'Bloody hell.' Merton groaned 'Then you'll know nothing happened.'

'Yes...I know...' I said meekly 'Uh...Merton...you haven't, you know, eaten any of the chocolates and sweets you were given today?'

'Nah,' his head shook 'I know well enough to not eat anything given by fans, especially young witches.' his eyes rolled and I sighed in relief

'Oh, that's good..' I breathed, dread overcame me at the thought of him eating anything spiked with love potion 'I don't want to lose you.' I whispered.

Merton smiled up at me from his seated position on the side of the bed 'You wont, I promise you I'm not going anywhere.'

'I know I've been hard to deal with...I'm really sorry...'

Merton took my hand as I began to sob, and he pulled me carefully towards him, I slid onto his lap and he wrapped his arms tightly around me, it felt soothing to be in his warm embrace again.

'I love you.' I whimpered

'I love you too.'

'Feeling better now?' Asked Merton after I wiped my eyes and rose up to face him

'A little...' I muttered 'I wouldn't mind a kiss though.'

Merton chuckled, our lips found each other, and they began to wrestle. His hands slid up under my top and paused for a moment.

'S-sorry,' Merton grunted 'Got too excited...I know you're not ready for that.' he panted

My lips pursed as I faced him, and my head shook

'No...I-I think I am-' Merton looked in surprise at me

'Really?' he asked sceptically 'I mean-there's no rush I uh-whoa-' he exclaimed in surprise as I pulled off his shirt, revealing his slim torso to me, which I began to kiss at, and I yelped in delight as I was now lying on the bed underneath him in one swift motion with my legs wrapped around his waist.

We both gasped however, as the curtain was suddenly wrenched open, and there stood Amycus Carrow with a leer, and Romilda Vane trapped in his clutches.

'On your back again, Morris, eh?' wheezed Amycus in a giggle, Merton rose in anger and aimed his wand at the Carrow.

'No, Merton, don't-' I rose and grabbed his arm

'I'd listen to your skank, Graves, if you know what's good for you.'

I had to hold Merton back as he made towards Amycus again, who was giggling joyously

'Merton, stop it,' I demanded 'please.'

Merton glanced guiltily at my pleading figure and lowered his wand

'Good.' Amycus spat 'Then you'll come with me Morris, won't you?'

'Yes, I'll come quietly.'

'Mara-'

'No, it's fine.' I said 'Just stay here, okay?'

Merton looked worried, but pressed his hand to my jaw and my eyes closed.

'Oh brother,' Amycus remarked 'hurry up!'

I turned away from Merton and walked towards Amycus, who let go of Romilda

'You're in big trouble, Morris.'

Carrow was practically reveling in it as we stood in front of Snape's desk, who was looking dangerously at the pair of us.

'Students are not permitted to wander around the castle at night,' Snape said with a cool unsettling calmness 'what makes the two of you think you have that right?'

'She went to go see her boyfriend,' remarked Amycus 'Practically had her legs wide open.'

A brief look of disgust crossed Snape's face, but it soon returned to its previous steely state.

'I was under the impression Merton Graves was your husband.'

'He is,' I said firmly 'Professor Carrow has his wires crossed.'

'Husband?' Amycus snorted 'Oh, Greybacks' going to be very happy.'

'I don't care!' I snapped, unable to control my rage 'I'm not his-'

'He certainly made you his.' cackled Carrow, Romilda looked thoroughly confused 'Like them a bit older do you?'

'Shut your mouth!' I barked, but cried out as Amycus's hand swiped hard across my face. There was a roar of outrage from several headmasters portraits as I held my stinging cheek.

'Enough,,' Snape ordered calmly, and the portraits simmered down 'For breach of the rules, the both of you will receive detention, I will leave it up to Professor Carrow to issue the punishments how he sees fit.'

Dread overcame me at the prospect of serving detention with that degenerate, but Amycus looked positively ecstatic.
