Our house seems to go like normal for the next three days this is now the forth day. All I've had is Damon on my mind. No answer on his phone. Not even a text. His car was left at the Lockwood's for two days then randomly disappeared one night when Stefan picked it up. Tyler said he saw him. Which is very odd.
Jeremy had Vicki in the house overnight. He really didn't hide it at all. I head downstairs with Blaise in my arms. He has been acting strange. Probably missing Damon as well or sensing something is up. Jenna is in the kitchen when we get there.
"How's Blaise?" She asks.
"Still behaving off. I swear he's not sick. The doctor said he was fine." I say concerned about my baby boy.
I took him to the doctor yesterday because of his whimpering at odd times. He will randomly whimper. The doctor said that nothing was physically wrong with him. They thought maybe it was mental. But being almost four months old there is no way for him to tell me. The only thing I can think of is that Damon left because that's the only thing that's changed in his life.
"It started when Damon left, right?" Jenna confirms.
"Yeah, he disappeared then the next day Blaise was whimpering." I say.
Blaise starts whimpering. I pull him to my chest giving him a cuddle. The doctor said that holding him when he has an episode should help him calm down.
"Maybe, he misses Damon." Jenna suggests.
"That's the only thing I can think of that's changed. He got attached to him quickly. Damon became his buddy. Damon would text and see how Blaise was doing all the time. Now nothing. I so worried." I say getting stressed out and worked up.
"Deep breaths, Evie. Maybe you should report it to Sheriff Forbes today." Jenna offers.
"You said to wait a week or two." I say confused.
"I don't think that was the best advice. If your really worried something might have happened tell her. Worst that happens is he turns back up and he's unhappy that you care." Jenna explains with one eyebrow raised.
"I guess. I'll head before the car wash tomorrow." I plan.
"How did you get roped into doing that, again?" Jenna asks with a snicker.
"Caroline, who else?" I ask rhetorically.
Blaise starts to quiet down again. My poor baby. Elena walks into the kitchen finding Jenna and I standing at the counter talking.
"Jenna! Are you aware of what's going on upstairs?" Elena asks her. I laugh.
"Uh-huh." Jenna acknowledges.
"And you have no objection?" She asks.
"He could be craftier about it, at least make an effort to sneak her in and out. Oh, and just so you know, I won't be home for dinner." Jenna says.
"Oh, so you're actually going to do it. You're gonna go out with Logan." Elena says.
"Why would you give him a second chance Jenna?" I ask whining.
"I'm going to show up and torture him, yes." Jenna says. "And have you heard from Stefan?"
"Not since he left that very vague message three days ago. 'Hi, um, Elena, I, um, have something I have to do. I'll, uh, explain in a few days.'" Elena says looking a little upset.
"Haven't you called him?" Jenna asks.
"Nope. Not going to either." Elena tells her.
"And you're ok with everything?" Jenna checks in.
"No, I'm not ok with any of it. But I'm not gonna cry about it, either. You know, I was going to write in my diary this morning and then I thought, what am I going to write? Honestly, I'm not gonna be one of those pathetic girls whose world stops spinning because of some guy." Elena explains.
"Ok, then." Jenna says.
"I'll be fine." Elena says.
Elena and I head to school. Tyler and I walk into school talking about Blaise and my worries.
"The sexy suds car wash is tomorrow. The football team and the band have committed. Well, not all the band. Just the ones who could pull off the bikini. I want, in your face, sexy. I mean, it's a fund raiser, for god's sake." Caroline tells us then walks away.
"Unbelievable. It's like nothing happened." Elena says.
"She's in denial." Bonnie tells her.
"No, she was having kinky sex with Damon." I say with a shrug.
"It was just kinky sex?" Bonnie asks shocked.
"Yeah, he and her were just having kinky sex. It stopped when him and I got together." I tell her.
"Hey." Stefan greets walking over.
"Hey. You know, I gotta go. Be somewhere right now." Bonnie says.
"I gotta go talk with Caroline." I say walking away not wanting to talk to Stefan at this very moment.
"Hey Care, how you doing?" I ask her when I walk up to her.
"I'm good. How bout you?" She asks.
"As good as I can with Blaise still doing his whining." I say with a sigh.
"He's still doing it. What did the doc's say?" She asks concerned.
"That he's physically fine. I think he's missing Damon and to be honest so am I. I'm really worried about him." I tell her. "Has he texted or called you?" Knowing they became good friends; he might have gotten in touch with her.
"No, he hasn't." She says shaking her head.
"Stefan's at school today. He's talking with Elena. I didn't know if I could talk to him with just her there." I admit.
"Well then, I'll go with you." She says marching over to Stefan. I jog to keep up. She is a woman on a mission look out below. "Stefan, where is Damon? He has some serious apologizing to do." She tells Stefan.
"He's gone, Caroline." Stefan says. I look at him in disbelief.
"When is he coming back?" Care asks him.
"He's not coming back. I'm sorry." He apologizes insincerely.
"This is a good thing, Caroline." Elena butts in still on her morally justifiable path in her mind.
"I know that." Care says just to get Elena off her back. Care and I walk away. "She still thinks I was being abused?"
"Yeah, she even told Bonnie you were being abused." I tell her.
"What?! I haven't seen Bonnie in a few days. Her and I haven't spoken about Damon once. Why didn't she ask me?" She asks me upset.
"Probably, because she didn't want to bring up bad memories if you really were being abused. This narrative is solely on Elena." I say pissed off at her.
"Do you believe Stefan? She asks me giving me a concerned look.
"Not one bit. He left his car for two days. He loved that car and Stefan went and picked it up in the middle of the night." I explain.
"In the middle of the night? That's not suspicious at all." She says sarcastically.
"Yeah, Ty sent me a picture of Stefan driving it when he saw it happen." I tell her.
"Ty always has your back." Car says.
"Yeah, he's really worried about Blaise. He is an amazing uncle to Blaise." I say with a smile on my face thinking of them together.
"Well, we will figure out what happened. We can report him missing to my mom." She offers.
"I was planning on doing it before the car wash, tomorrow." I tell her my plans.
"Why don't we do it after school today. You and I will both tell her. It's harder to ignore when it's two of us." She says.
"Smart, sure. That sounds good." I agree.
School passes quickly and Care gets in my car with Ty. We drive back to his place to pick up Blaise and drop him off and head to the police station where Liz will be.
"Hey girls, what can I do for you two?" She greets as soon as we enter.
"What's to say we aren't here to visit you?" Care jokes.
"You never come here just to visit, nor does Evie." She says with a smile.
"We are here to report a missing person." I say as Blaise starts to whimper. I cuddle him to my chest.
"Who's missing?" She asks worried.
"Damon Salvatore. He was last seen at the Founders celebration. He hasn't been seen since. He left his car there. Stefan went and picked it up in the middle of the night two days ago. He also hasn't answered any call or texts from Caroline or me." I explain.
"Could he have just gotten a ride out of town?" She asks.
"No way. He would have texted Evie asking about Blaise. He adored Blaise and texted her all the time about how Blaise was doing and checking in on her. He wouldn't just vanish on her without telling her anything. He also wouldn't leave his car behind." Care defends.
"Alright, I will file a report and ask around." Liz tells her.
"If you ask Stefan, he will say he left town. I think he's lying though." I say.
"Why do you think that?" Liz asks.
"I think he's hiding something. It's just a feeling. Everything just isn't adding up. You taught me that if something isn't adding up either something is missing, or someone is lying." I tell her.
"I will keep that in mind when asking around." She says then heads off to file the report.
I drop Care off at her house where she wants to watch some TV in the evening. I head to the grill and see Elena there as well. I walk over.
"Hey, Matt, um, have you seen Stefan?" I hear her ask Matt.
"Nope. If you want to kill some time, um, you can rack. Come on. We haven't played in forever. I'll let you break." Matt tells her.
"Hey," I greet.
"Hey." They both greet.
We walk over to the pool table. Matt and Elena start a game while I just watch.
"And there's Vicki, all nonchalant in the bathroom like it's no big deal that they're hooking up." Elena finishes tell him what she saw this morning.
"Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. Your brother and my sister, that's weird." Mat says.
"I couldn't agree more." I agree with a chuckle.
"Yeah." Elena agrees. Elena's phone rings. She ignored the calls.
"How late is he?" Matt asks.
"Hitting the hour mark. Nothing's wrong though. Which means I'm not talking boy problems with you." Elena says. She shoots the cue ball.
"Good. I mean, it's not like we were ever best friends or anything." Matt says.
"Ok. Here goes- What do you think of Stefan? Is he a good guy?" Elena asks him. oof, if she's asking her ex what he thinks of her current boyfriend that isn't a good thing. Blaise is quiet in my arms holding on to my shirt tightly in his fists.
"Why? what's he done?" Matt asks seeing what I am seeing.
"Not any one thing. He's just so secretive all the time. I think there's something that he doesn't want me to know, which makes me want to know all the more." Elena explains a bit.
"Like what? Like that he's a serial killer and he keeps a clown suit in his trunk?" Matt asks making jokes.
"No, of course not. But what do we know about him, really?" Elena tells us.
"He's great at football. A little bit of a loner. And as much as I hate saying it, he might be a nice guy." Matt gives his point of view.
"So, you think I'm just being paranoid?" Elena asks.
"I think you should talk to him." Matt says diplomatically giving her the best advice.
"In other words, he doesn't know him well as well. You would know him better." I say with a chuckle. Matt chuckles as well. Stefan appears inside the grill.
"Talk to who? I'm so sorry that I'm late." Stefan asks and apologizes.
"You seem to be apologizing a lot." I say with some attitude.
"What happened?" Elena asks.
"I got held up." Stefan says trying to dismiss it.
"Is everything ok?" Elena presses for more information.
"There was this thing with my uncle." Stefan tries to dismiss again.
"And you couldn't call and tell me that you were going to be an hour late?" Elena asks getting pissed off.
"Ok. You have fun." Matt says trying not to get involved. He walks away. I wave him good-bye.
"I'm really sorry. It was unavoidable." Stefan apologizes again.
"What was unavoidable?" Elena asks again. Stefan just stays silent. "Okay. Come on Evie." Elena goes to leave wanting me to follow.
"Oh, uh, Elena, please..." Stefan pleads.
"No, Stefan, don't you get it? Every question gets a vague non-answer. What is so awful that you're afraid to tell me?" Elena asks trying to get through to him. An old man walks up to Stefan.
"I know you. My God." The old man says to him.
"I'm sorry?" Stefan asks confused.
"I know you. How can it be?" the man asks baffled.
"I think you have the wrong person, sir." Stefan says to the man.
"You haven't aged a day." The man says. That's curious.
"I'm sorry. Excuse me." Stefan dismisses the old man and turns to Elena. "Hey, can we...can I take you home and we can talk about it? Is that ok?" Stefan starts pushing Elena towards the door. She stops.
"Wait, what was that?" Elena asks him.
"I-I don't know. uh, nothing." He stutters clearly lying. That is even more disturbing.
"Right, nothing. Ok, um...I gotta go, Stefan. Excuse me." Elena says leaving. I head out behind her to drive her home. As I didn't see her car in the parking lot.
