Third person Stefan's POV
After Stefan arrives home to an empty house and Elena confronts him, he meets Elena at the grill to talk more about what he is. In turn she has promised not to tell anyone about him or Damon. They both sit across from each other at a table outside the grill.
"You said you would explain everything. That's why I asked you to meet me here. When you Google 'vampire' you get a world of fiction. What's the reality?" Elena tells him
"I can tell you whatever you wanna know." Stefan says.
"I know you eat garlic." Elena points out.
"Yes." Stefan confirms.
"And somehow, sunlight's not an issue." Elena observes.
The waitress delivers drinks then leaves.
"We have rings that protect us." Stefan tells her.
"Crucifixes?" Elena asks.
"Decorative." Stefan answers.
"Holy water?"
"Drinkable."
"Mirrors?"
"Myth."
"You said you don't kill to survive." Elena says remembering what he told her.
"Animal blood keeps me alive, but not as strong as Damon. He can be very powerful." Stefan explains.
"And yet you let him get involved with Caroline?" Elena asks upset.
"Forcing Damon not to do something is much more dangerous, believe me." Stefan says.
"He was hurting her!" Elena exclaims.
"He was feeding on her. He was able to take away her memories of being bitten using a form of mind compulsion. She never knew what was happening to her. If he wanted to kill her, he would have." Stefan tells her.
"Is that supposed to make it ok?" She asks.
"No. No, none of this is ok, Elena. I know that." Stefan tries to convince her.
"What about Evie? Is she in any danger?" She questions wanting to protect her twin.
"I don't know." Stefan answers.
"How do you not know? You know your brother." Elena says.
"I do, but this is different. Blaise looks so much like Damon. He could be Damon's son." Stefan explains.
"Can vampires have children?" Elena asks intrigued.
"That's the thing, they can't have children. I think he's picturing Blaise as his son because he it's so easy to." Stefan predicts.
"So, they could be in danger?" Elena asks.
"No, I don't think so. Only Blaise's actual father would be in trouble. If he ever comes back into the picture Damon would probably kill him." Stefan says to Elena easing her fears.
"That's good. Because she has no memory of that night and who got her pregnant." Elena says.
"She doesn't?" he asks.
"Yeah, she got drunk and blacked out." Elena tells him. "Are there any others, aside from you and Damon?"
"Not in Mystic Falls; not anymore." Stefan says.
"Not anymore?" Elena asks.
"There was a time when this town was...very much aware of vampires, and it didn't end well for anybody. That's why it's important that you don't tell anyone." Stefan says.
"I can't promise that." Elena says.
"Elena...Give me today. I will answer any questions that you have, and when it's over, you can decide for yourself what you wanna do with what you know. It'll be your choice." Stefan tries to convince her.
Damon's POV
I take Vicki to a spare room as Evie and Blaise are coming over. I put a plastic sheet down, so she doesn't get blood on the bed. I hear a car pull up and head downstairs to greet her. She comes in holding my son. I take him in my arms right away.
"How are you today?" She asks.
"Good, how are you and Blaise?" I ask in return.
"We are good." She says with a smile. We head to the kitchen. She heats up a bottle and hands it to me. I look at her confused. "I thought you would want to feed him."
She repositions him in my arms and gives me the bottle. He reaches up and holds it while it's in his mouth. I hold it up, so it doesn't come out.
"You have any questions?" I ask her.
"A few," she says as we walk to the living room. "Can you stop the compulsion?"
"Yeah, I have something for you that will stop it. It's called vervain. You should put it in food or drink. I also recommend putting it in something that you can't get it to come off." I tell her.
"Like a tattoo?" She asks curiously.
"That's really smart. I've never thought of doing something like that. Sure. If you can blend it with the ink yes" I say impressed by her creativity.
"What about my aunt. How do I keep her safe? Elena and Jeremy as well?" She asks. She's always thinking of her family.
"Elena has vervain necklace already. Stefan gave it to her-"
"Elena knows?" She interrupts in shock.
"Yeah, she found out yesterday. Like you did." I tell her.
"Okay, what about Jeremy and Jenna?" She asks.
"Well, you can either go the same route as your sister or go the same route you are." I give her the options.
"I guess we are getting family matching tattoos. It sucks that I wouldn't be able to convince Elena to get one." She says.
"Why wouldn't you?" I ask confused.
"Because, even if she is in the know she is super against tattoos. She thinks they are immoral or something like that." She explains.
"Strange. Stefan has a tattoo." I tell her.
"Really? I would never have guessed. He seems so uptight." She says.
"He can be less uptight." I say using her words.
"Who knew." She says as Blaise finishes his milk.
She takes the bottle form me and shows me how to burp him. I head upstairs and quickly change him while she cleans the bottle. I'm back just as she finishes.
"You said don't invite anyone in. why?" She asks.
"Vampires can't get in without an invitation." I tell her.
"That's why you had to wait at the threshold before Elena invited you in. Here I thought you were just being polite." She says with a chuckle.
"I would have waited for your invite anyway. I am a gentleman after all." I tell her kissing the top of her right hand. She giggles.
"Anything else I should know?" She asks.
"I drink human blood. Stefan drinks animal blood. It makes him weaker." I tell her.
"So, all the deaths were because of you?" I ask.
"Yes, I do kill. Being a vampire means you kill sometimes. None of us are saints." I tell her hoping she won't judge.
"Oh, I was just confirming. As long as you don't hurt my friends and family, I don't see a reason to hold you to the standards of a human." She says like the accepting person she is.
"I can always answer questions later if you have more." I tell her.
"Alright, do you want Blaise for the afternoon. I can leave him with you and a few bottles. That way you aren't here alone all day. I'll go home and talk to Jenna and Jeremy about matching family tattoos." She offers. I think about Vicki for a moment. Having Blaise here would be better. I can protect him better from here.
"Yeah, if you can that would be great." I tell her.
"Sure, can you bring him back to my place later?" she asks.
"Sure, it will be after sunset." I remind her.
"There is a few bottles of milk in his bag if you put them in the fridge. Heat them up and then shake them. Test if it's too hot on the inside of your wrist. If it isn't then you can give it to him." She tells me and then leaves. Blaise is fast asleep so I take him up to his bed.
I bring Vicki downstairs to the sofa and call Stefan.
"Where are you, Stefan? I'm trapped at the house, and I'm getting really bored and really impatient, and I don't do bored and impatient. Bring me my ring. Damn it." I leave in a message for Stefan after I get his answering machine. Vicki starts bleeding on the couch.
"Aw, don't get blood on the couch!" I say more to myself and walk over to her.
"Please? I got you good, didn't I?" she doesn't answer at all. "Well, you're not gonna be any fun today. I'm so gonna regret this." I bite my wrist and put it in her mouth. She struggles for a second then gives in.
"Drink up. Drink it up. Don't drip. There you go. Good girl. That's it." I praise her.
She goes and takes a shower in the spare room I have music playing not too loud to wake Blaise but loud enough to be enjoyable. I closed my room door, so she doesn't go into it. I will hear if he cries.
"Oh, man. That shower was so great. What did you give me?" She asks stepping off the stairs while drying her hair.
"Some blood. You loved it." I say.
"I did? Wait. I'm confused. How did we get here?" She asks.
"We met in the woods. You were drunk. I attacked you. Then I killed all of your friends and brought you here, gave you same blood. You loved it. And now we're gonna party till the sun goes down." I explain to her.
"Ok. Um, but first, can I have another hit? That blood was so good." The addict says.
"Only if I can." I say wanting to make sure I'm nice and fed.
I don't want to possible accidentally hurt Evie or Blaise. She nods so I bite my wrist and give it to Vicki and feed on her neck while she drinks from my wrist. After Vicki starts dancing. I grab myself a glass of bourbon and sit on the couch.
"I am so over Tyler, so over him. I knew from the beginning that I was only a piece of ass to him, but I thought maybe if he got to know me better, he might see something more. But no, the only people he sees as people are Evie and Blaise, that brat child of hers. Now, Jeremy, on the other hand, that's all he's ever seen in me is something more, and I like that." She goes on and on
"Jeremy, huh? Elena and Evie's brother?" I ask her, pissed off that she called my son a brat.
"Yeah, yeah. So, Elena used to date my brother, and they were always together, so Jeremy would always be hanging around and crushing on me and...Hey, why don't you have a girlfriend? You're, like, totally cool and so hot." She keeps talking.
"I know." I reply.
"Don't you wanna be in love?" She asks.
"I've been in love. It's painful and pointless and overrated." I say talking about Katherine. But with Evie I can actually see a future. I can see more kids, maybe and marrying her eventually. But this blood bag doesn't need to know that.
"Except when it isn't." She refutes.
"No more talking. Let's dance." I say taking her and dancing around with her. Eventually a slow song comes on and she wants to slow dance. I do, but I wish it was Evie in my arms the whole time.
"My mom spends most of her time in Virginia beach with Pete. He drives trucks. I don't remember my dad, but from what I gather, he's not worth remembering." She tells me her life story.
"Your life is so pathetic." I tell her honestly.
"Yeah. I mean, I'm the screwed-up one. Matt's got it so easy. He's the golden boy. I mean, he's gonna get a football scholarship and marry Elena and have a lawn mower and some babies, and when I think of my future, I just come up blank." She says
"You are so damaged." I say.
"Yep." She replies wallowing in herself pity.
"I mean, you don't have one hint of self-esteem."
"Nope, none."
"I think I know what can help you."
"So, what's that?" She asks.
"Death." I say before snapping her neck. You don't get to call my son a brat without death.
Evie's POV
I get home after dropping Blaise off for some quality time with his dad. I see Jenna's car in the driveway. Good she's home. Hopefully Jeremy is home as well. I head to the kitchen and Jenna is there.
"Hey," I say.
"Hey, where's Blaise?" She asks.
"Damon is looking after him." I say.
"I'm glad he turned up okay. Did he say what happened to him?" She asks.
"Yeah, turns out a friend was gonna commit suicide, so he had to leave right away and forgot to bring a charger and his phone had died before he left." I say.
"That is an emergency. How's the friend?" Jenna asks.
"He's doing a lot better. He might visit at some point apparently. It got me thinking about you, Jeremy, and I getting matching tattoos to have in memory of mom and dad." I say to her.
"That's a great idea. You and Jeremy work out a design and we can go get them done. I'll sign the papers for Jeremy to be able to." Jenna agrees easily.
This is great news. I head up to Jeremy's room and knock on the door. I hear him yell come in. I head in and sit on his bed. He's playing on his computer.
"What's up?" he asks.
"I was talking with Jenna about getting matching tattoos in memory of mom and dad." I say.
"What did she say?" He asks curiously.
"She said yes." I reply. He gets a real happy look on his face.
"I was thinking you could draw something for it." I say. "Dad and mom loved this flower called vervain. I was thinking I would use the oil from the flower in the ink. So, I'll make the ink." I say.
"Team effort. I like that. Sounds good. I'll get started now." He says pulling out his sketch pad.
"Sweet. Sounds good." I say leaving the room and heading to mine.
Damon's POV
I go and check on Blaise he is still sleeping. Hopefully not for long. I should feed him soon. I hear Vicki start to stir and head back downstairs remember to close my bedroom door.
"What happened? We were dancing, and then..."
"Then I killed you." I tell her interrupting her.
"What?" Vicki asks confused.
"You're dead." I reply.
"I'm dead?"
"Yeah, well, let's not make a big deal out of it. You drank my blood, I killed you, and now you have to feed in order to complete the process." I explain to her.
"You're wasted." She says while trying to leave. I stand in her way stopping her.
"You don't wanna be out there all alone. You're about to get really freaky." I say.
"Ok, I had a really good time. I just wanna go home." She says holding her head.
"You're gonna start craving blood, and until you get it, you're gonna feel very out of it. You have to be careful."
"Come on, move."
"See? you're already starting to fall apart." I say taunting her.
"And I'm going home now."
"Ok, fine. I'm just warning you. Actually, you know what? You should go. In fact, if I were you, I would stop by your boyfriend Jeremy's house. Keep away from Evie and my son, though, I will kill you if you hurt either one of them." I warn her.
"Yeah, whatever." She waves off.
"Bye. Tell Elena I said hi and if you see Stefan, tell him to call me." I say as she walks out of my house.
