The family were currently in the living room watching a monster movie, Eustace was in his chair annoyed, Shaggy and Scooby were on the couch resting a bit, Courage was next to his best friends holding a small hoop.
He was trying to get his new pet fish he got at the fair last week to jump through the hoop, but the fish just ignored him and grew annoyed as Courage kept tapping the bowl with the hoop.
"Come on Fish jump through the hoop," Courage then pulled out a poster with the fish jumping through the hoop to try and get the fish to do the same.
The fish only seemed to sigh and turned away.
"Rhat's wrong Rourage?" Scooby asked.
"Like, you seem tensed," Shaggy said, noticing the pink beagle getting frustrated.
"I'm trying to get this fish to jump through the hoop, I've tried convincing it to jump but nothing works. I'll never get this fish to jump," Courage sighed, with defeat.
"Don't worry little Courage guy, the fish will jump through the hoop. All you needs is time and patient," Shaggy reassured.
"Easy for you to say, you got Scooby to do all sorts of tricks," Courage pointed out, unconvincing.
Scooby was about to say something, but the kitchen door opening caught the family's attention.
"Whatcha got there Aunt Muriel?" Shaggy asked, noticing the tray his aunt was holding.
"I've got a special treat," Muriel said, walking into the living room while carrying a wooden tray.
"What's that?" Eustace demanded.
"Sushi," Muriel answered.
Shaggy and Scooby's mouths begin to water, while Eustace then grabbed a bite of it only to spit it out a moment later when Muriel told him it's raw fish.
"Yuck! Lousy stinking raw fish," Eustace complained before turning back to the TV.
Shaggy and Scooby took a bite of the sushi Muriel made.
"Aunt Muriel, this is the best special treat you've ever made," Shaggy said, while eating the sushi.
"Reah, the best," Scooby agreed, as he ate the sushi.
"I'm glad you like it boys," Muriel smiled.
"Rou should give it a try Rourage," Scooby suggested, as he turned to the small beagle.
Courage give Scooby a smile, "Okay."
But just as Courage picked it up, his pet fish gasped, and awkwardly put it back, "You know what I'm good."
Courage then keep on tapping on the fish bowl with the hoop, "Ready fish?"
The fish just glared at the cowardly pink beagle, and turned away.
"Come on fish please?" Courage growled bit at the fish.
Suddenly, as the trio looked at the fish bowl, they saw something purple behind it, they hummed in confusion, before looking around the fish bowl and to the window. The three best friends grew frightened, when they saw a giant purple fish with a hat on her head standing there. This caused the cowardly trio to scream.
"Eustace!" Courage began.
"Like, there's a big fish outside," Shaggy said, pointing to the window in fear.
"Reah, big fish," Scooby shook with terror.
But Eustace got annoyed and pulled out his mask, "OOGA BOOGA BOOGA!"
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage screamed in fear, before Courage jumped in fear, unfortunately, he jumped so high and hit the ceiling before falling down and landing in the bowl. Scooby jumped into his owner's arms in fear.
Eustace laughed while taking off the mask.
"Aunt Muriel?" Shaggy called to his aunt.
"Rustace scared us again," Scooby said.
"I'll handle this," Muriel said, as she ran into the living room with a rolling pin and hit her husband on the head with it.
"Ow! What did I do?" Eustace asked with pain.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door caught the family's attention.
"I wonder who it could be at this hour,"Muriel wondered, as she placed the food down on her chair.
Muriel then walked up to the door to answer, but when she opened the door, Courage screamed with fear as he shattered the fish bowl, with the fish holding onto his tongue. Scooby give out a scream of fright.
"Zoinks!" Shaggy shouted, with terror.
"I am a missionary fish, a fishionary. And I represent the official organization of deeply moral fish," the fish answered before batting her eyelashes, "And, a... uh, might I trouble for a glass of water," she began, but started to cough heavily before asking for some water.
"No trouble at all," Muriel said, before turning to the kitchen and getting a glass a water and handing it to the fish who seemed to be dying from lack of water.
"Well, fish do need water to survive," Shaggy said, he saw her splash the water on her face and instantly feel better.
"Same with dogs and humans," Courage pointed out.
"I'm here to offer you all the opportunity to return from whence you came," the fish announced.
"Ooh! Scotland! I haven't seen Uncle Ron in ages," Muriel said happily, at the thought of being able to see her uncle again.
"I ain't paying for no trip," Eustace announced angrily.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all sighed with relief, as they would not be able to go as Eustace was too greedy to spend any money. But that went out the window by what the fish said next.
"There's no cost," the fish said, before pushed to the side by Eustace who somehow is already packed.
"Works for me," Eustace said as he walked towards the bus the fish presumably used to get here.
Which kind of surprised the trio as they did not think that fish could drive.
Courage then came up to Muriel and said, "Don't do it Muriel! Don't do it!"
"The little pink dude is right Aunt Muriel," Shaggy stated, not trusting this one bit.
"RI don't trust big fish that can talk," Scooby pointed out, nervously.
But Muriel mistook it as something else entirely, "Of course you can come, boys."
"I have my van waiting right over there,"the fish said, pointing over to her van that Eustace was trying to open.
Muriel walked over to the van.
"Is Aunt Muriel deaf!?" Shaggy asked, with dismay.
"The only thing that Muriel is deaf of is danger," Courage groaned.
"Ro kidding," Scooby agreed.
Walking up to the van, the family got in and took their seats, Eustace buckled himself in and instantly fell asleep, Muriel pulled out some cloth and two giant needles and started sewing whiling singing a song. Shaggy and Scooby sat next to each other, while Courage sat down in the seat behind them.
The trip was long and boring, after about another half hour, Courage spotted something that he did not like.
"Guys, I don't have a good feeling about this. That Fishonary gives me the creeps," Courage's voice shaken, as the van entered the ocean and was soon completely underwater.
"Rour not the only one Rourage," Scooby agreed, with a whimper.
"Giant fish that walk and talk are untrustworthy. Unless it's Aquaman," Shaggy reaffirmed to a superhero, he, Scooby and the Mystery gang met one time.
"We better keep an eye out, or my name is SpongeBob SquarePants, and it's not," Courage cautioned.
Once under water, the van started to move around freely as if it was a submarine instead of a van, the van navigated through the waters and eventually came upon what looked like a landing strip.
"Victor-Echo Clear to land," a voice on the radio said.
"Rhere are we?" Scooby asked, getting nervous.
"This doesn't look anything like Scotland," Shaggy pointed out.
"Uh Shaggy this isn't Scotland," Courage responded, with a tremble.
"Oh man," Shaggy whimpered.
Soon, the van landed on the landing strip and hit what seemed to be a plastic tunnel, but instead of going through fully, the van only went in halfway. The fish put a bowl on her head filled with water before opening the van door, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage unbuckled themselves, got up and proceeded to get off the van followed by Muriel and Eustace.
"Where's my peanuts?" Eustace demanded.
"What do you think will be waiting for us?" Courage asked, scared.
"Like, I don't know man," Shaggy replied, with a scared tone.
Scooby give out a pitiful whimper, while looking around. Only to stare at the schools of fish the swim by them.
"They are making these airport terminals spiffier and spiffier every year, Muriel said, not realizing that they are not at an airport.
"Bah," Eustace merely complained in response.
Courage become scared and screamed when a pufferfish inflated himself to scare him, bumping into Shaggy and Scooby in the process.
"Like, it's just a pufferfish little pink dude," Shaggy reassured, although he was a bit wearily too.
"Sorry Shaggy," Courage said, embarrassed that he got startled by a pufferfish.
After a few more minutes of walking, the family came upon another room where the plastic tunnel ended, going through the sliding doors, the family looked around saw that they appeared to be on the inside of a giant cave. There was also a giant desk on the other side of the room with three fish with wigs sat on top.
"Is it just me or does this look like a fish court?" Shaggy asked, nervously.
"Rish Court!?" Scooby shouted, with alarm.
"This is not good," Courage whimpered, while hiding behind Muriel with fear.
To the side, there was a giant octopus with a glass bowl on its head standing next to a curtain covering a small part of the wall. Courage give out a frightful howl at that.
Eustace, decided to go up to the fish with wigs and demanded, "Where's my peanuts?"
"Is this Nowhere international airport?" Muriel asked, confused.
"No, Air-Breather. This is the undersea tribunal to educate and re-educate
land-dwelling yokels," the fish answered, while walking towards the fish with wigs.
"I don't see what any of this has to do with going home to Scotland," Muriel said, confused.
"You're not going to Scotland," the fish said to her.
"But you said I was going back to "from whence I came," Muriel pointed out.
"Yes. Yes indeed. You are going back to whence you came-from whence all life came—the sea," the fish explained.
"The sea," the fish with a wig on the right said.
"The sea," the fish with a wig on the left repeated.
"The sea," the fish with a wig in the center repeated as well.
But as soon as the last fish said that, the curtain that was behind them opened up to reveal many different fish swimming about.
"The sea?/Rhe sea?" Shaggy, Scooby and Courage asked, with confusion and alarm, and were shivering in fear at what could happen to them.
"You got peanuts?" Eustace asked, to the giant octopus.
In response to that, the octopus flicked Eustace's hat off his head before lifting him up into the air using the suction cups on his tentacle. The octopus then moved over to the rest of the family, who were clutching each other in fear, and did the same to them.
Once he had all of the family, he moved them over to stand before the fish with wigs. He then let go of the family.
"Your scalinesses...I have observed the ways of these land-walkers and have found them to be highly uncivilized," the fish announced.
The fish with wigs started muttering amongst themselves.
"Wearing shoes, sipping tea, blinking...," the fish explained.
Courage blinked, a little when the fish said that.
it gets worse. Using household appliances, sitting for extended periods of time watching the noise and picture machine." The fish continued on.
"The television?" Muriel asked confused.
"Where is the television?" Eustace quickly asked when he heard Muriel ask about the television.
This caused Shaggy to roll his eyes at him, as even in danger that could end someone's life, Eustace only cares for his own and his own things, "How can you think of television at a time like this?"
"And, worse of all. Imprisoning fish for their own amusement," the fish added lastly, while pointing to a scared Courage, who gulped nervously.
"I was only trying to teach it a trick," Courage said, in defendance, squealing like a tiny puppy.
"Rhy are you doing this?" Scooby asked.
"You know what you did. We cannot ignore such vile behavior. Your Puffinesses, I petition the court to pronounce these five guilty," the fish declared, turning around to the fish court.
"Guilty?!/Ruilty?!" Shaggy, Scooby and Courage asked, with fright.
"Oh my," Muriel said, worriedly.
"It is the fining of this tribunal..." the fish with wig on the left began.
"That the accused are frighteningly uncivilized..." the middle fish continued.
"And therefore, must be found..." the fish on the right finished before a short pause was made.
"GUILTY!" all three fish declared while banging their mallets.
"Oh my," Muriel said, shocked.
"Like, zoinks," Shaggy shivered, already preparing for the worst.
"What do you think is going to happen guys?" Courage asked, worried.
"RI don't know Rourage," Scooby replied, with a whimpered, whatever it was, this wasn't gonna be good.
"They shall..." the fish on the left began.
"Be sentenced..." the middle fish continued.
"To be civilized in..." the fish on the right finished.
"THE BOWL!" the fish declared, at the same time before looking to the octopus.
The family turned to him and saw the octopus pull a string which caused the curtains to move apart and reveal a giant fish bowl behind it. Inside the bowl there was Di Lung already swimming.
"Zoinks, it's Di Lung," Shaggy exclaimed.
"Him again?" Courage questioned.
The octopus grabbed Di Lung and pulled him out of the bow.
The guy tried to get out but failed, "Watch we're ya going ya fool."
The octopus then moved to the wall and pressed a button which opened a passageway outside of where they are into the ocean, with Di Lung gone, the octopus then brought the bowl over to the family.
"But we can't breathe underwater," Muriel told them.
"Like, we need gills to breathe water," Shaggy added.
At that moment, the octopus came from behind, grabbed the family and placed something on their necks.
"These temporary gills will allow you to breathe underwater until you become fully civilized and grow gills of your own," the middle fish explained.
The family struggled and grunted to get the gills off their necks, but they were stuck real tight.
"Like…me…and my…big mouth," Shaggy grunted, as he struggled to get the gills off of his neck.
The octopus raised the family higher into the air before dropping all of them into the bowl, looking out the bowl, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage saw the fish with wigs leave the room via the plastic tunnel.
"I hate Scotland," Eustace complained, still not understanding anything that just happened.
"Re hates everything," Scooby commented.
"Except his hat, his truck, his chair, food, the TV and especially money," Shaggy pointed out.
A sudden tapping noise caught the trio's attention, looking over, they saw the octopus tapping on the glass with a canister he was holding. Courage shrieked in terror, before swimming into the toy castle that was in the bowl.
"This Scottish TV stinks," Eustace complained again.
Turning to him, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage saw that he was sitting in front of an opening and closing treasure chest and thought that it was a Scottish television.
"Huh?" Eustace suddenly asked surprised, he then swam up to the top along with Muriel.
Looking up, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage saw that the octopus had put fish food into the bowl and now both Muriel and Eustace were eating the flakes. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage screamed in terror when they all saw this. The three best friends then swam to them and tried to stop them.
"Muriel, we can't stay," Courage said, as he pulled onto Muriel's dress.
"Like, this place is a scary prison full of fish," Shaggy pointed out, in anxiety.
"Rery scary," Scooby agreed, with a shudder.
Muriel seemingly and unnerving just ignored the frightened trio, and continued to eat the fish flakes.
"NOOO!-" Courage started to scream, but was caught off by the fish flakes going into his mouth and was taken back on how good it taste. "Hmm? Not bad."
Courage ate a couple of the fish flakes, and decided to swam a little. He swam by the treasure chest and stare at his reflection.
In his reflection, he started not him acting like himself anymore, but now he's acting like a fish.
Courage realizes what he just did and started screaming in terror and fear. Courage swam back up to his family, and to his dismay he saw his best friends eating the fish flakes too.
"I may not be a fish, but this stuff is pretty good," Shaggy said, as he ate the fish flakes.
"Relicious," Scooby agreed, as he also ate the fish flakes.
Courage felt really disturbed and felt horror, growing in his fur, the much more time he and his family spend in the bowl, the less human (or dog,) they become. The pink beagle came up to the hungry duo, and slapped their faces back to their senses.
"Guys snap out of it! We need to find a way to get out of here," Courage stated.
Scooby shook his head, and came back to his senses, "Rour right Rourage."
"How are we gonna get out of here?" Shaggy asked.
Courage looked up and saw the octopus, was bought to dumped the fish flakes again, "Grab on," he instructed.
The trio swam up to the top, and then jumped up and grabbed the tentacle of the octopus, as he swing the cowardly trio off of the fish food.
"Ret's get these gills off of us," Scooby suggested.
"I rather be human than a fish," Shaggy commented.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage took off their gills, Courage seeing the Octopus' tentacle grabbed a mallet.
"I hereby declare this Octopus guilty!" Courage shouted, as he slammed the mallet on the the tentacle, causing him to scream in pain.
"Rood one Rourage," Scooby complemented.
With him in pain and distracted, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage jumped onto the curtains and ripped it in half, and landed on the floor in the process.
Shaggy looked up in time to see the octopus coming after the trio, "Zoinks, it's coming!"
"Allow me," Courage said, as he wrapped the curtains around him and tangled/tied the curtains so he would have trouble getting it off.
"Rhat will hold him off," Scooby said, hopefully.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage ran to the bowl and try to pull the lever, but because of the water pressure on the bowl, it was too heavy, even Courage couldn't pull.
"Rt's too heavy," Scooby grunted.
"There's has to be something sticky to stick onto the bowl," Shaggy put out.
"Wait, we can use the tentacles," Courage suggested, "Grab a tentacle quick."
Shaggy and Scooby grabbed one tentacle and placed it on the bowl, Courage then grabbed another and ran to the van, he placed it on the front of the van. Going around, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage saw that the doors were still open, Courage turned on the van and began to close the doors but stopped when I he saw Shaggy and Scooby run up to him and enter the van. Once the hungry duo were both in, Courage closed the door and put the van into reverse.
"Ret's see what this baby can do," Scooby said, determinedly.
"I hope this works!" Courage prayed, hopefully.
Looking around, Courage stepped on the gas and the van immediate sped off in reverse, all the while he prayed that the tentacle would hold to the bowl and van. As the van continued to drive backwards back to the house, the van passed by the fishes from earlier and saw that they were getting massages from lobsters. The cowardly pink beagle had hoped they did not notice the van but they did and were now giving chase to the van by riding the lobsters.
Soon the van was back on dry land, and it appeared it was morning already.
Shaggy looked out the window, and gasped as he saw the fish on the lobsters were gaining on them, "Their coming! Their coming!"
"Free Willy!" Courage shouted.
After a few more minutes, the van reached the farmhouse again, hitting the brakes, the van came to an immediate stop, and causing the poor octopus to get smashed flat in between the van and the bowl which came in at such a high speed like a bullet. Opening the door, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage got out of the van and ran to the bowl.
"You gotta get out of their quick!" Courage shouted desperately, as he showed them on a poster on how to do get out.
"Rhere's a bunch of fish judges following us!" Scooby added, frantically.
Then Shaggy heard the lobsters coming closer and already his heart began to pound, "Uh guys?"
Looking to where Shaggy's pointing, Scooby and Courage looked on, as the fish on lobsters getting closer.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all screamed in terror and ran back to the house.
"Like Maybe there is something we could to get help from-" Shaggy began, before he, Courage and Scooby gasped in shock.
"Inside?" Shaggy finished.
The purple fish from before that started everything was in there being fanned by two men while eating some sushi and watching the TV.
"Rhe Rishonary is watching TV," Scooby said, in astonishment.
"While soaking her fins and getting fanned," Shaggy added, with shock.
"She's breaking the uncivilized rules. She's being a hypocrite," Courage finished, with a growl.
Hearing muttering behind them, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage turned and saw that the fish with wigs had puffed up in anger. However, the one on the right puffed up so much and caused a lot of pressure, that the water inside the bowl on his head gushed out and left him a thin fish.
"Are you alright fish dude?" Shaggy asked.
"Yeah, yeah," the fish judge answered.
"Release the humans. We have bigger fish to fry!" the first fish declared.
The octopus obeyed, as he grabbed Muriel and Eustace with his tentacles and swing them out of the bowl.
The old couple started to flop around like they were still fish but stopped when Scooby and Courage removed the fake gills off of them.
"Rou don't need these anymore," Scooby said, as he tossed the fake gills away.
"Retrieve the fishionary, clearly, she has fallen to uncivilization and must be recivilized. Take her to the bowl," the fish on the left declared.
The octopus went inside the house to grab the fishionary.
"Hey! My toaster pizza's almost ready and my favorite show is coming on!" the fishionary shouted, but all pleas were ignored, as she was dropped into the bowl.
"What happened?" Muriel asked.
"Turns out the trail was a scam pulled by the Fishonary," Courage explained.
"Like, she told the judges that we were uncivilized fish," Shaggy added.
"Ro she can throw us into the bowl so she can have the house to herself," Scooby finished.
"And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling Air-Breather and those dogs," the purple fish growled.
All the three fish went into the van along with the lobsters and drove off. The octopus though, wined a bit before attaching himself to the van and bowl.
Shaggy chuckled, "That never gets old."
Scooby giggled, "Rood times. Rood times."
At nighttime, the family were in the living room, Shaggy and Scooby were on the couch eating the sushi Muriel made earlier, Muriel was in the tub that Courage brought down and filled with water, Eustace was in his chair reading his paper.
"I think I am getting pruny, that must be a good sign," Muriel said, as Courage used a syringe and splashed some water on her.
"Sorry you didn't get to go to Scotland Aunt Muriel," Shaggy said, feeling bad for his aunt that she got scammed.
"Don't worry about Shaggy. Someday we'll go to Scotland," Muriel reassured her nephew.
"But I know something that will cheer you up. Scoob and I have been to Scotland with the gang before," Shaggy said.
"Let me guess, you saw the Loch Ness Monster?" Courage guessed.
"Ruh huh," Scooby nodded.
"And it's actually a person inside a suit?" Courage guessed again.
"Turns out that there were two Loch Ness Monsters," Shaggy shivered, at the memories.
"Rhe first one was controlled by the sound of the bagpipes Ramie Rraigmore, who just wants the money from Switzerland," Scooby explained.
"And like the second we captured was a home-made submarine operated by Professor Pembrooke. She did it to convince another professor named professor Locksley that the real monster existed," Shaggy put in.
"Those must of be tough mysteries," Courage said, amazed that they're able to do that twice.
"You boys know how to get the job done. I'm so proud of you," Muriel said, with a smile.
"Thanks Aunt Muriel," Shaggy smiled, even though he new it was Fred, Daphne and Velma who usually do all the work.
"AH! I'm hungry," Eustace complained.
Eustace lowered his paper which allowed Courage to feed using a giant container containing fish flakes and shake them which caused them to come out and into Eustace's mouth.
"Guess like we're not the only ones with different taste buds," Shaggy chuckled.
"Rou said it Raggy," Scooby giggled, "Scooby Dooby Doo!"
