The family, expect for Eustace, were outside of the farmhouse near where they planted a few plants recently.
Courage hummed as he watered a plant, but because of the summer heat, it was drying up.
"Rhat's odd. Rater usually helps plants grow," Scooby stated.
"It depends on how much water it needs," Muriel explained.
"Like, with this summer heat their is no way we can get this plant to grow," Shaggy added.
"Don't worry Shaggy. Plants take a lot of time to grow. All it needs is plant food and a wee bit of love," Muriel assured her nephew.
"Ah, the life of a farmer," Courage sighed.
"Food! Food! I need Food!" everyone heard Eustace yell/demand from inside the house, a moment later he came out the house and stomped towards his family.
"Hi Uncle Eustace," Shaggy said, not looking away from the plant.
"Hello Nephew. Where's my lunch?" Eustace greeted and demanded.
"Right here," Muriel answered, as she pointed to the plants that wilted and died almost immediately.
"You just don't have a green thumb, like mine," Eustace said, angrily.
"Why don't you and your thumb go into town and buy some groceries?" Muriel suggested.
"What? And spend money?" Eustace said, shocked and angry.
"Really Uncle Eustace?" Shaggy asked, in annoyance.
Courage whispered into the Great Dane's ear, "He's such a scrooge."
"Rotally," Scooby agreed, whispering to the pink beagle back.
A newspaper suddenly hit Courage's face, he struggled to get off so Shaggy helped him by grabbing the paper and removing it from his face.
"Thanks Shaggy," Courage said, gratefully.
Shaggy looked at the paper that just flew into Courage face and read, "Whoa! Like, you might wanna check this out Uncle Eustace."
"Give me that!" Eustace snatched the paper from his nephew's hands, "Huh?" he asked surprised.
Muriel then looked over his shoulder to see what caused it, "Free food forever. Call 555-Glutton," she read.
"Ha, ha. Happy Birthday to me," Eustace shouted excitedly.
"Rasn't his birthday weeks ago?" Scooby asked.
"To him, it's always his birthday," Shaggy said, dryly.
Courage shook his head at the farmer, "What a sad, strange little man."
An hour later, the man who was in charge of the Mega-Veg came to the farm, and was telling instructions to the family.
"We at Mega-Veg are delighted that you and your family have volunteered to test our product," the man said, as he handed Eustace a stack of papers and legal documents.
At that moment the truck in front started up and a whirring sound was heard.
Looking up, the family saw that the truck was carrying a large see-through dome and placed it over the house.
"Blah, blah, blah," Eustace complained, as he held all the papers.
"Never before in the annals of agriculture has mankind had an edible product that can withstand the harsh elements of nature," the guy told the family.
"Just get to the free part," Eustace demanded.
"Planted under our new millennium geodesic environmental dome," the man explained.
"Okay, that got creepy real fast," Courage commented, nervously.
"And with just a few of our patented Mega-Seeds and the press of a button, you'll have the garden that will be the envy of all your neighbors," the man said, as he guided the family to the dome and handed them some packets of seeds before opening the door to the dome.
"Re have neighbors?" Scooby asked.
"Don't got no neighbors. When do we eat?" Eustace demanded, as he kicked all the papers away.
"Just step inside your new dome home and let the growing begin," the guy answered, as the family all walked inside.
"There's gotta be a catch," Courage said, not trusting the man one bit.
"Ratch?" Scooby asked the pink beagle.
"They don't just give things for free," Courage said, in a serious tone.
"Like your totally right little pink dude. They probably wanted to charge us on the seeds," Shaggy spoke, not getting what Courage was thinking.
"Ror we have be used for test subjects," Scooby pointed out.
Shaggy and Courage turned to looked at the Great Dane, that statement made their skin crawl.
"For what?" Courage asked, getting a little nervous.
"Rest out the food," Scooby replied, with a shiver.
Shaggy gulped, "Now that's what I call a catch."
"I don't know about this you guys. People who would give us a dome like this give me the creeps," Courage said, eyeing the dome anxiously.
Shaggy looked all of his surroundings, with a bit of dread in his heart, "Like, your not the only one."
"We better keep a close eye on this place, or my name is Hopediah Plantar and it's not," Courage suggested, cautiously.
Just then, the family heard the door slam shut.
Shaggy glanced over his shoulder, and almost felt his heart stopped, "Guys look."
Looking too we're the cowardly teen was pointing, Scooby and Courage quickly turned around and saw that guy had not just closed the door but is now welding it shut.
"Oh no," Courage said, in fear.
"Rometimes, I wish I wasn't right," Scooby whimpered.
"I want our free food," Eustace demanded, getting the trio's attention.
"Here's the seeds the nice man left us,"Muriel said, as she looked through the packets.
"Like, nice, more like creepy and unnerving dude," Shaggy said to Courage.
"Yeah, he was creepy and I did not trust him," Courage agreed, as the trio walked to stand next to Muriel.
"Cabbage, peas, tomatoes," Muriel said reading though the packets.
But was interrupted when Eustace snatched them from her, he then ripped them open and shake the packets causing the seeds to fall to the ground. And then he proceeded to do nothing aside from stare at them.
"Grow, you stupid plants!" Eustace shouted, at the seeds.
"Like, that's not how you plant things Uncle Eustace," Shaggy said.
"Oh what you know, you're just a kid," Eustace scoffed.
Shaggy rolled his eyes, 'I'm like almost 18 you know!"
"Hold on boys, look," Muriel shouted getting her family's attention.
Turning to her, they all saw that she was standing to next to a button on a stand that was underneath a giant sign.
"Ractivate Dome?" Scooby asked, confused from reading the sign.
"Oh, ha, ha, ha," Eustace shouted in joy as he ran over and pressed the button.
"Uncle Eustace, wait, I do don't think-" Shaggy began to warn Eustace, but stopped when he pressed the button.
Looking up, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage saw an angry storm forming that quickly turned into a tornado.
"Tornado/Rornado!" Shaggy, Scooby and Courage shouted, in unison and fear.
The family tried to run, when the tornado picked us up and they were all now flying through the air from its strong winds.
"HANG ON EVERYBODY!" Shaggy screamed.
After a moment, the family were sent flying to the ground at such a high speed, all the while getting pelted by the heavy rain that just appeared from nowhere. Then a lightning bolt nearly struck the family.
"Let's get inside quick!" Shaggy shouted.
Everyone all nodded and bolted for the house as quickly as they could, Eustace opened the door and Muriel got in, but shut the door on the cowardly trio.
Courage ran to the door and try to get it to open, but it was shut real tight.
"Open up, it's us," Courage said.
"Courage, Shaggy, Scooby, is that you?" Muriel asked, from inside the house.
"Who else would it be?" Shaggy questioned.
"RI'm not liking this storm," Scooby whimpered.
Lighting suddenly strike near the house, following by the crackling of the thunder, making Scooby and Courage screamed with fear.
"Zoinks!" Shaggy exclaimed with terror.
Courage began to bang on the door, desperately trying to get in, "Let us in! Let us in! Let us in!"
"Rlease!?" Scooby begged, as he also started to bang on the door.
"The boys are outside!" Muriel said.
"I ain't letting that storm in here!" Eustace countered.
"Who cares, it's only water!" Shaggy shouted, with annoyance and fear.
"Blah, blah, blah-" Eustace began.
"Courage, look out!/Rourage, look out!" Shaggy and Scooby shouted in unison.
Scooby managed to grabbed the pink beagle just time, as lighting struck the door. All the while, the cowardly trio could hear Eustace shouting in pain.
When the lighting was gone, Shaggy opened the door and let the dogs in, before slamming the door shut again.
"I thought we'd never get inside," Courage panted.
Courage then jumped into Muriel's arms, and Scooby jumped onto Shaggy's arms in terror, when another lighting strike hit just outside the house.
"Courage, Shaggy, Scooby," Muriel said happily, as she snuggled into Courage.
"Muriel/Aunt Muriel/Ruriel," Shaggy, Scooby and Courage sighed in unison and relief.
"Is everyone alright?" Muriel asked, the trio.
"We are now thanks to our home," Courage sighed, in bliss.
"Thanks to our good old roof over our head," Shaggy put in, calming a bit down.
Scooby turned his head and saw something out the window, "Ruh guys?"
The family looked to where Scooby was looking, the storm suddenly stopped entirely, as if it wasn't there in the first place.
"It stopped raining," Courage said, as he looked out the window from Muriel's arms and to the sky and saw a clear sky.
"I hope our little seeds survived," Muriel said putting Courage on the floor.
Muriel then walked over to the door and opened it, "Oh my!" Muriel said shocked at an entire forest essentially full of vegetation.
"Wow!/Row!" Shaggy, Scooby and Courage said in unison, surprise of what they saw.
"Food!" Eustace shouted happily, "Go pick it."
"Let's start the harvest, boys," Muriel said, as she grabbed a basket and stepped outside.
"Yes Ma'am/Res Ra'am," Shaggy, Scooby and Courage said in unison.
Shaggy walked out and taking a look around, while Scooby and Courage both sniffed at the ground. Wondering how all these fruits and vegetables will taste like.
"RI love the smell of tomatoes," Scooby said blissfully, as he sniffed at the tomatoes.
"What can I say, Muriel does make a good tomato soup," Courage said in agreement, as he also smelled the tomatoes.
Muriel was shaking a tomato that was buzzing for some reason, "A honeybee must have gotten lost in here."
Shaggy went over the the cabbage and picked out one, "Hello little green friend. Scoob and I gonna eat you. Yes we are," he said, like he was talking to a baby.
But suddenly, the cabbage started to growl at the hungry teen, making him scream and dropping the cabbage.
Meanwhile Scooby and Courage were both sniffing at the peas.
"These peas smell great," Courage commented.
"Ran't wait to eat it," Scooby said, while licking his lips.
Then suddenly, the peas started to growl at the two dogs, making them scream with fear, as they both ran to Muriel, long with Shaggy.
"Muriel/Ruriel!" Scooby and Courage both screamed in unison.
"Aunt Muriel!" Shaggy shouted, as he ran up to his aunt.
"The vegetables are alive!/Rhe vegetables are alive!" Shaggy, Scooby and Courage shouted in unison.
"I know you're hungry, boys," Muriel said, walking up to the three, grabbing the pea plant and putting it into the basket. "I'll have that vegetable stew cooking in no time."
"You saw the vegetables come to life too?" Shaggy asked the dogs.
"The peas growled at us!" Courage explained.
"Reah, growled!" Scooby added, while pretending the growl like the pea plant that growled at the two dogs.
"A head of cabbage growled at me after I told it that I'm going to eat it," Shaggy explained.
Scooby and Courage both started at Shaggy weirdly.
"What? It looked tasty," Shaggy shrugged his shoulders, in defense.
"Your gonna have to save your appetites you guys. Right now, we gotta make sure Muriel and the farmer are okay," Courage said.
"Let's go/Ret's go!" Shaggy and Scooby both shouted, as they raced towards the house, with Courage following them.
Entering the house, the three best friends saw Eustace sitting in his chair reading his paper. Passing by him, they entered the kitchen and saw Muriel had already started preparing to cook the pea plant.
"Courage, the olive oil is in the basement. Would you fetch it for me?" Muriel asked.
Courage whined, about going to the basement, worried, that something might happened to Muriel, Shaggy and Scooby while he was gone.
"Re'll go with him," Scooby volunteered.
"Thank you boys," Muriel said, gratefully.
Turning around, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage began to head to the door to head to the basement. But as soon as Shaggy opened the door, they all stopped when the three heard Muriel scream. The cowardly trio all quickly looked around and saw that the plant had started moving and now captured Muriel and was holding her using its vine. It even had placed a chef's hat on itself.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage screamed in terror with Courage's intestines popping out of his stomach. The plant set the heat on the stove to high, which caused to trio to ran to the rescue.
"Let her go! Let her go!" Courage grunted, as he pulled onto Muriel's boot.
"It's no use, Aunt Muriel is a goner," Shaggy panicked, while trying to untangle the vines, the plant has Muriel trapped in.
Courage then spotted the measuring up, with half of olive oil in it, this give him an idea, "Not on my watch!"
The little beagle then grabbed the measuring cup and shouted, "You could use a little oil!"
Courage then threw it at Muriel and the plant, the result was Muriel being sent flying away out of the kitchen because of the tight grip the plant on her and that fact that she was now covered olive oil which made her slippery.
This made the plant angry, as it got a rolling pin. Courage picked up Muriel, Shaggy and Scooby and exited the kitchen just as the plant neared them. Courage slammed the door shut as soon as he exited the kitchen, unfortunately he dropped Shaggy, Scooby and Muriel in the process, with Muriel slipping towards the living room in front of the TV.
"Like we've dealt with food themed monsters, but not real food monsters," Shaggy whimpered, as he shivered with fear.
"Rame here," Scooby whined.
"I better check out the kitchen," Courage said, as he opened the door a crack to see what could be on there. Only to greeted by a barrage of peas being launched at the cowardly pink beagle at high speeds that hurt badly.
Courage quickly moved back can closed the door, he laughed as about fifty peas started coming out of his mouth. Who could've known that peas could hurt so much?
"Little pink dude, are you okay?" Shaggy asked.
"Never better," Courage replied, dizzily.
Looking up, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage saw an oil cover Muriel that landed in front of the television.
"Eustace, you know those vegetables you wanted to eat? I think they want to eat us,"Muriel told him worried, while looking over at the kitchen door.
"You're crazy. And if you ain't gonna cook for me, guess I'll have to feed myself," Eustace complained, before picking up a cabbage that was next to his chair.
But as he was about to take a bite out of it, the cabbage 'opened its mouth' revealing a ton of sharp teeth. It then jumped and bite Eustace on the head, while he screamed in pain.
"Courage, Shaggy, Scooby, help!" Muriel shouted.
"Come on!" Courage yelled, as he, Shaggy and Scooby ran towards the living room.
Muriel then hits the cabbage, which eventually let's go of Eustace's head, but unfortunately for Eustace, his head was all bruised up. But as soon as the cabbage landed near the kitchen, the kitchen door burst open with the pea plant from earlier coming towards the family angrily. And it was not alone.
"Let's get out here!" Shaggy shouted.
The family all ran outside the house to the door of the dome, but as they ran past all the vegetables, they came life and for some reason started sniffing them as they ran past them. The family quickly reached the door of the dome and Scooby tried to open it but failed.
"Rt's locked!" a terrified Scooby shouted.
"Zoinks, how are we gonna get out of here?" Shaggy asked, frantically.
"Allow me," Courage said, as he he went back for a moment. He then came back with a giant rock and threw it at the door only for it to bounce off and land on Eustace's foot.
Eustace shouted in pain as he grabbed his foot and started bouncing in pain, Courage disappeared for a moment before coming back. This time, with a giant log about eight feet long, he threw it at the door only for the same thing to happen. But instead of just bouncing off, it flew away from the family like a bullet.
"Stupid dog!" Eustace shouted, only to muffle yelling as the log entered his mouth in a comedic way.
"I hope this works!" Courage got a cannon and lit the fuse.
A second later, it fired the cannon ball but it bounced off the door. But because of the angle, it bounced of the door and flew to the ceiling where it bounced two more times before coming down and hitting Eustace in the stomach. Eustace grunted in pain when the cannonball hit him in the stomach sending him back, and because of the force it hit him, it also expelled the log from his mouth and sent it flying.
Courage shouted in pain when the log hit him, he then shattered as if he was made out of glass.
"Don't worry little dog dude, well put you back together," Shaggy assured.
Shaggy and Scooby then piece Courage backed to together, like he was a puzzle.
"Thanks guys," Courage shook off his fur.
"Rnytime!" Scooby responded, with a smile.
The log then was sent flying back after he hit Courage and landed near some tomatoes, the to the trio's surprise and horror, the vines leaned back and sent the tomatoes flying into the air where they started to fly with each other. And a second later, it was also revealed that they had stingers.
"What's eh?" Eustace asked confused when he saw the tomatoes flying towards him, but he instantly regretted not moving when they started to swarm and sting him.
"Now that's what I call a Hornato," Shaggy commented, as he watched the tomatoes that were chasing Eustace.
"Rood name for a tomato," Scooby responded.
Courage grabbed the seed bag, that was on the ground. He flipped them over and began to read the back, "Ingredients, hornets, pythons, piranhas, Oh no!"
"If Velma were here, she would analyze the seeds. But I'm guessing they mixed predator DNA with vegetable DNA," Shaggy guessed, wishing Velma were here right now.
Courage gulped when he realized how bad it's getting, and transformed into Velma, "Jinkies!"
Scooby turned to were Courage was looking at, and his blood freeze with terror, "Ruh-Roh!"
"What is it Scooby?" Shaggy asked, the frightful Great Dane.
"Rhat!" Scooby pointed the vegetables in horror.
Hearing some growling, Shaggy looked up and saw cabbages and pea plants started slowly moving up to the family, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage clutched to each other with fear as they backed against the dome glass.
"Oh! The button!" Muriel shouted, as she began to get surrounded.
"Please, please work," Courage dived for the button and pressed it, only for the storm to come again.
But instead of making things better, it made it worse as the plants grew in size. They were at least twice as big as before.
"Push it again!" Muriel shouted.
"I'll push it," Shaggy volunteered, as he pushed the button but quickly held onto the stand as a fierce wind blew.
Courage, Scooby and Shaggy held onto the podium, while Muriel was sent flying into the air but managed to grab onto the side of the dome.
"Ry turn!" Scooby shouted, as he made sure his grip was tight, he pressed the button and was relieved when the wind stopped.
Muriel shouted as she fell to the ground, the family saw that the plants had stopped moving and were slowly getting covered by snow. Almost like they were hibernating.
"I'd never thought I'd be so happy to see frozen vegetables," Muriel said.
"Summer snow, you could never predict it," Courage groaned.
"At least the snow isn't made of paper this time," Shaggy said, with optimism.
Eustace's scream caught the family's attention, turning to him, they saw him running away from the same tomatoes as apparently did not freeze and just put on earmuffs when the snow came.
The family all rushed towards the house as the tomatoes chased them, getting to the house, Courage opened the door and slammed it when they were all inside. The tomatoes, not being able to stop, splattered against the door.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage began to board up all the windows and doors.
"That should hold them off for now," Courage said, as he wipe the sweat off his head.
"Where's my lunch?" Eustace demanded.
"The vegetables are outside waiting to eat us, and all you can think about is-" Muriel began, shocked at Eustace but he cut her off.
"FOOD!" Eustace shouted in joy pointing to the TV.
"Let's not forget about himself," Shaggy said, sarcastically.
"No, food!" Eustace said, while pointing at the TV.
Going around, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage saw that there was a cabbage on screen.
"Huh?" Courage asked, confused.
"RI didn't know the TV had color," Scooby said.
Courage then felt his fur beginning to prickle, "It doesn't Scooby."
Only for it to prove Scooby wrong by jumping through the screen. It then began to sniff Eustace's foot.
"AHH!" the cabbage said, as it sniffed Eusta's foot. It then licked its lips before biting Eustace's foot.
Eustace screamed as he tried to shake off the cabbage from his foot, he eventually managed to do so but also sent his shoe along with it. The cabbage then tore through the shoe with a ravenous hunger. It then started to chase Eustace around the room.
"That's one hungry cabbage," Shaggy shivered.
After a moment of chasing, the door and windows broke off with the vegetables slowly coming through them. Some even came from the ceiling and Eustace's chair.
"RIKES!" Scooby screamed, with terror.
"Quick upstairs!" Shaggy shouted, as the family ran up the stairs and went to the attic.
"You guys get into the attic, I'll hold them off," Courage instructed.
"Rokay. Rood luck," Scooby nodded, before heading upstairs to his family.
Looking down the steps, Courage saw the vegetables slowly climbing up the steps, he then pulled out a large machete.
"HIYAAH!" Courage shouted, and dove towards the plants, only to run back up when they easily caught the machete and tried to hit him with it.
He then brought out a lawn mower and tried again, he did get two pea plants but because of their vines, it somehow made the mower spin around extremely fast and uncontrollably which sent Courage flying back upstairs.
Courage pick stand next to a cow that was suddenly there, and bring it down the stairs to the plants.
"Graze," Courage ordered the cow.
The cow laughed for a moment before beginning to eat some of the plants, but to the pink beagle's horror, the plants ate the cow quickly leaving behind a laughing cow skeleton.
Courage give out a scream of terror and raced up the steps and to my the attic. Getting there and shutting the door, Courage saw Muriel and Eustace sitting in the corner clutching to each other scared, and Shaggy and Scooby clutching to each other with terror as well.
Courage braced himself against the door but then got sent flying to Shaggy, as caught him in his arms when the plants burst through.
Both Muriel and Eustace screamed. Shaggy, Scooby and Courage clutched to each other in fear and terror.
"It's no use, we're done for," Shaggy wailed, shutting his eyes tight, fearing this is the end.
Scooby and Courage both sniffed at Eustace's foot and gagged at the stench.
"Ree ew, talk about foot odor," Scooby said with disgust, forgetting a bit about their predicament.
"Foot order?" Courage asked, as he remembered the cabbage at sniffed at Eustace's foot earlier.
This give the pink beagle an idea. Grabbing Eustace's sock, and resisting the urge to throw up, Courage pulled it off and squeezed the sweat in to the device.
"Rhat are you doing Rourage?" Scooby asked, not getting his eyes off the vegetables as they came closer.
Not responding, Courage simply give out a cry, "Yippee Ki Yay, vegetables!" he then sprayed the plants with the device.
As soon as Courage did, the plants stopped as if curious by what the pink beagle did, they then began to sniff each other before eating each other. And quite messily at that as bits of plants started flying around the room forcing the family to cover their eyes, but after a moment, the eating sounds stopped. Uncovering their eyes, the family saw that all the plants had eaten each other and all that remained were the remains of the plants.
Courage give out a long triumphant cry, "I AM COURAGE! DESTROYER OF EVIL!"
"Like, take it easy little dog dude," Shaggy said, in attempt to calm down the excited beagle.
"Reah, they're gone now," Scooby put in.
Courage then felt a blush of embarrassment, "Oh sorry, got lost in the moment."
"Finally, food," Eustace cheered, as he went up to the plants and began eating it.
"Yay!" Courage cheered.
"We did it!" Shaggy cried.
"Re're awesome!" Scooby cheered, triumphantly.
"That's my boys," Muriel smiled.
It was two hours since Courage tricked the plants into eating each other, the company had just taken the dome away from the house. Currently, Muriel was in her rocking chair, with Courage on her lap, while Shaggy and Scooby ordered take out from a fast food place for dinner, and were both now eating dinner on the couch.
"Want more food," Eustace demanded, despite the fact he was now fat and big he became from eating all that food The floor underneath gave way causing him to fall to the floor, but instead of asking for help, he just said this," "Wicket! Where's my dinner?"
"I think it's time for Uncle Eustace to go on a diet," Shaggy said,
"Before he smashes the house," Courage added.
Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all laughed at this.
"Rou said it guys," Scooby chuckled, "Scooby-Dooby-Doo!"
