It was nighttime in Nowhere, Eustace was watching a gladiator movie on TV in the living room. Muriel and Courage were in the basement doing a little project.

"You look gorgeous in wrought iron, Courage!" Muriel said, as she lifted her welding mask up.

"Mmm-hmm," Courage said, puffing his cheeks out.

"Just a minute more," Muriel said, as she lowered her welding mask.

In the attic, Shaggy and Scooby were seated on the couch, both possessing game controllers. They both were both concentrating on the game displayed on the screen of the computer and focusing on moving their race cars.

"Look out, Scoob, like, I'm right behind you! Last chance to call it quits while you still can!" Shaggy said, eyeing at the screen with the controller in his hands.

"Rin your dreams, I'm gonna win this race if it's the last thing I do!" Scooby smirked, determined to get past by Shaggy's car in the game.

"Please, nobody can outrun the Shagster!" Shaggy said, with a smug smile on his face.

"Why I allow you twits to use me as your personal video game console, I'll never know..." the computer groaned, as it can't believe it had let them do this.

Outside of the farmhouse, where the windmill stands, it was slowly turning down, then it stopped all together, as a few parts of it came off.

Back in the living room, as Eustace was watching his movie with glee, the TV turned off, as did the lights in the living room.

"Aw, nuts. Darn windmill..." Eustace complained.

Back in the basement, the lights suddenly went out before coming back but then started flickering on and off.

"What's up with the lights?" Courage asked.

"Oh, my!" Muriel gasped, with surprise.

Back in the attic, just when Scooby was almost to the finished line of the game, the computer suddenly turned off, as the lights flicker on and off.

"Rey, what happened?!" Scooby complained, disappointed that he didn't win this time, "RI was almost THIS close to finally beating you!"

"Huh, I think there might be something going on with the power, let's go check it out," Shaggy suggested, as he and Scooby got off the bed and went out of the attic.

"EUSTACE!" Muriel shouted.

Turning to her, Courage saw her exit the basement and head to the windmill, he decided to follow her. Stepping out of the basement, the pink beagle saw Muriel walking up to the windmill where Eustace was with his tools, with Shaggy and Scooby standing nearby.

"Are we all suffering some kind of power outage?" Courage asked, his best friends.

"Rhat do you think?" Scooby shrugged.

"Hey, what seems to be the problem over here, Aunt Muriel?" Shaggy asked, his aunt.

"Oh, it is VERY terrible, dear, our windmill appears to be on the fritz again!" Muriel replied to her nephew, before turning to her husband, "Eustace, I think it's time to fix that old windmill!"

"Reah, Raggy and I were in the middle of a racing game upstairs in the attic until the power started acting a little crazy!" Scooby added.

"Ah, quit your whinin', I'm working on it!" Eustace snapped, before he began to climb up the windmill.

"Knowing that farmer, I'd say we're gonna be spending a whole lot of years without any power," Courage sighed, knowing it could be hours before that old windmill is fix.

"You'd think after all the hours you spent tinkering with it, it would still be fixed!" Muriel told her husband, but he just ignored her.

Eustace take out the hammer he had in his back pocket before slamming it against the windmill, causing the whole thing to shake and nearly fall off. Because of what Eustace did, the red pod of the windmill came off.

"Huh?" Eustace said, confused as he saw it fall.

Courage was scratching his back, before Shaggy and Scooby both gasped, as the red pod was coming towards them.

"Zoinks! Unidentified falling pod at 12:00!" Shaggy cried out, with a warning.

Courage looked up his eyes went big, he give out a scream, as Shaggy grabbed the pink beagle, before he and Scooby move out the way just in time.

Eustace give out a laugh of mockery.

"Ronsidering how cheap Rustace can be, I wouldn't be surprised," Scooby commented, at the old farmer.

Eustace turned back to the windmill, as it slowly stopped turning and the power was completely out in the farmhouse.

"Eustace, now look what you've done!" Muriel said, pointing to the house showing that all power was now gone.

"Like, way to go, Uncle Eustace!" Shaggy added in a agreement, while crossing his arms.

"Ack! Hey, stupid dogs and nephew, get your hides up here and bring me my socket wrench!" Eustace shouted to the cowardly trio.

"The things we do for love..." Courage sighed, as he put the wrench in his mouth and began to climb the tower, along with Shaggy and Scooby.

"What the?! One of you got dog spit all over the wrench!" Eustace yelled, grossed out when he saw that the wrench was covered in drool from Courage. He then shake it off onto Courage and Scooby.

"What? I can't carry a wrench and climb at the same time," Courage pointed out, defendely.

Shaggy sighed, "I'll clean it for you," he grabbed the wrench from his uncle, before cleaning it off with his shirt and handing the wrench back to Eustace. "Like, here you go Uncle Eustace."

"Whatever. I'm gonna fix the mill, don't interrupt me Shaggy-haired-fella. Same with you dogs," Eustace grumbled, but took the wrench and began to 'fix' the windmill.

"Sorry, farmer..." Courage said, quietly, as he sit down on top of the stand that was holding the wings of the windmill.

"Reah? Rell, you're welcome! Reesh, what a crabby pants!" Scooby growled at the old farmer, as he stand down next to Courage.

"Tell me about it..." Shaggy agreed, as he sit down next the the dogs.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage looked up at the moon in the sky. The moon was oddly bright tonight, the clouds from the evening had silently retreated, and the yard from the farmhouse remained deathly silent.

Courage spotted, what appeared to be a black speck up in the distance, ""Huh?! Hey, what's that over there?!"

Turning to him, Shaggy and Scooby saw him looking off into the distance. The hungry duo saw a large plume of pitch-black smoke coming towards them, it came out of nowhere and the smoke seemed to either announce the arrival of something or give it cover.

The three best friends felt cold shivers, despite the fact it was warm out tonight. Their eyes widened with fear.

"Zoinks! Either that's just an incoming dust storm with a really creepy green glow or probably just a... spooky ghost!" Shaggy said, with dreaded fear in his voice.

Courage whimpered, his eyes clouded with terror, and he started to tremble uncontrollably.

"RI'm too scared to look!" Scooby whined, as he put his paws onto his eyes, covering them, while shaking like a jellyfish.

"There, that's got it again!" Eustace said, as he gave the blades a push which started the windmill up again.

At least, for the moment.

Suddenly, the smoke cloud vanished without a trace. As if it was never there in the first place.

"Huh?" Courage said, surprised.

"It's gone?!" Shaggy asked, flabbergasted, that the smoke disappeared, like nothing ever happened.

Scooby slowly uncovered, his eyes, before beginning to relax, "Reh, I guess it was just our imaginations playing tricks on us again."

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all took a moment to calm their beating hearts down, this was likely, just a dust devil that sometimes appeared in their yard.

"Is it finally fixed now?" Muriel shouted, from below.

"Nah, got to get another pod!" Eustace answered, before turning to the trio.

"Rou mean like the same one down there you accidentally let loose that almost killed us?" Scooby asked, dryly.

"Ah, shut up, you slobberin' mutt, and get over here! That goes for you and that other slobberin' mutt!" Eustace scoffed.

Courage sighed, before crawling towards the grumpy old farmer, "Coming, farmer..."

Shaggy and Scooby also got up to help. Eustace made Scooby hold the wrench in an uncomfortable way.

"So, uh... like, how long do we have to stand here, Uncle Eustace?" Shaggy asked.

"You three are gonna keep this windmill turning while I go find another pod!" Eustace answered.

"Ro we have to? Rall three of us have a fear of heights!" Scooby whimpered, as he looked down, it was making him a little quesy and nervous.

Shaggy and Courage both nodded in agreement, with the cowardly Great Dane.

"Yes, you stupid wrench-slobberin' dog! Now just hold onto that wrench and don't any of you let go 'til I come back!" Eustace ordered, as he climbed down the windmill.

"Oh, how come we are the ones who are given the most difficult tasks ever?!" Courage complained.

Scooby retracted his arm from holding the wrench, the wrench may not weigh a lot, but holding it in that position for a while does make it feel heavy, ""RI need a quick breather!"

But as he took a break from holding on, the windmill stopped spinning again.

Scooby sighed, "Roh, boy. Rustace is not gonna like this..."

Shaggy then heard what sound like horses galloping, he turned his head and what he saw almost made his heart stopped, "Uh, dudes, I think Uncle Eustace is the least of our problems right now... look."

Turning around, Scooby and Courage saw that black smoke cloud was back again, making them yelp with surprise and fear.

"Ooh... it's that creepy dust cloud again!" Courage said, with dread.

Scooby squinted his eyes, to get a closer look, with a sickening jolt, he stared in horror as he looked what there appeared to be four scary looking Vikings on each horse, "Rikes! Ro my eyes deceive me or are there four scary-looking men riding in horses inside that dust cloud?!"

Shaggy turned his alarmed best friends, "Quick! Turn the windmill, dudes! Turn the windmill!"

Not needing to be told twice Courage grabbed the wrench from Scooby, and started to screw the part of the windmill. As soon as Shaggy and Scooby heard the windmill start spinning again, it vanished with only a light trail of black smoke left to signify something was just there.

"Phew! For a second there, I thought we were all gonna get..." Courage began, before screaming when he lost his balance, Shaggy and Scooby both tried to pull their best friend up to safety, but were both send down with the pink beagle.

"HURT!" Courage screamed, as he, Shaggy and Scooby screamed, as they all fell all the way to the ground.

The three popped out a moment later from the hole in the ground he made from their fall.

"Like, did you have to jinx it, little pink dude?" Shaggy groaned, while rubbing his head in pain.

"Where's the leak, ma'am?" Courage asked dazed, the wrench he had somehow in his nose now.

The three looked up and saw that the windmill have once again stopped turning.

"Ruh-oh, that doesn't look good..." Scooby said, observing the windmill

Courage turned his gaze towards the distance, he froze, his eyes widened with terror, "Yeah, and neither do they!"

Looking to where the pink beagle was looking at, Shaggy and Scooby felt their insides turned to jelly when the three saw that the smoke cloud returned. However, this time, the smoke cleared and the trio could see what it was concealing. If that was the intention anyway.

Courage give out a gasped of terror, as he pulled his fur with alarm.

"Uh, guys, I'm beginning to think that this actually isn't one of our imaginations..." Shaggy whimpered, in fear.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage pressed together, with fright, as the skeleton demons rode around the base of the windmill.

"Roh, boy! Rand now they're circling us by our windmill!" Scooby cried, terrified as he pressed tightly to Shaggy and Courage

A memory sparked into Courage's mind. The windmill! "Windmill? Wait a second..." Without a second thought, the cowardly pink beagle placed the wrench in his mouth and quickly climbed back up.

"Courage, what are you doing?! Don't leave us here with these scary-looking skeletal dudes!" Shaggy's panicked voiced called out, as he immediately clung onto Scooby tightly.

Scooby returned the hug, as he gripped Shaggy tighter. The trip to Moonscar island was practically a picnic compared to this. He didn't even know if he had ever been this scared of the zombies and werecats.

Stomach coiling, heart pounding, blood boiling, Scooby wondered how he didn't pass out from how terrified he felt. All that seemed to hold him up was the fact that Shaggy was holding to him tightly.

"Like, it was nice knowing you, Scoob!" Shaggy buried his face into Scooby's shoulder.

All Scooby could do was oblige. He too, felt all he needed now was to be held. Closing his eyes, he clung to his best friend.

Courage was climbing as fast as he could, as he could hear his best buddies' cries of terror. He pray to the highest heavens he could make it before those skeletons do some harm to his pals.

Once he was back up, the pink beagle took the wrench and put it back to the windmill and turned it a bit which caused the Windmill to start up again. And as soon as it did, the creatures vanished leaving behind a purple hue.

Scooby was the first one to open his eyes. He looked back surprised as he said, "Ruh?! Rhey disappeared... again?!"

Shaggy opened his eyes, as he looked back in shock to see that the scary looking skeletons were gone.

"Phew, that was a close one!" Courage said, taking deep breaths, relief that his best friends were okay and in one piece. Unfortunately, because he was not paying attention, the small beagle stepped off the ledge. "Oh..." he fell down to the ground.

Shaggy and Scooby run to Courage's aid.

"Rourage, are you alright?!" Scooby asked.

Courage moaned, as he rubbed his head, "Ugh... I'm fine, Scooby... as long as the farmer's socket wrench is still turning the windmill... we should be okay..."

Shaggy looked up and and saw something that made his blood turned to ice, "You might wanna reconsider your words, little pink dude..."

"Why?" Courage questioned, then the answer was given as the wrench hit him on the head a moment later. "Ouch!" the pink beagle picked up the wrench and he immediately begin to give out a cold sweat. "Oh, no! Not again!"

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage looked up, eyes widened with horror upon seeing the skeleton demons appeared again.

"Rell then, now might be the perfect time..." Scooby said, before screaming, "TO RUN!"

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage ran away from the windmill as fast as they could, all the while screaming with terror. The demons followed the terrified trio. Courage blocked the skeletons' weapons with the wrench, hearing the started cries of Shaggy, Courage went to his aid, and block the weapons with the wrench once more.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage realized that they still had the wrench and the windmill somehow makes them disappear. Turning back around, the three headed straight back for the windmill.

"What do we do?! What do we do?!" Courage panicked.

Shaggy looked at the bag of his uncle's tools and got an idea, he grabbed the tool bag and handed over to Courage, "Here, try throwing these tools at them!"

Grabbing the bag from the cowardly teen, Courage threw Eustace's tools at the demons, but missed every single shot. With the closest one just knocking off the spike from the helmet of one of the demons. Though, judging by the hiss from one of the demons, they did not like that.

"Rou shouldn't have suggested that, Raggy, now they're really sore at us!" Scooby wailed.

"Up the windmill, quickly!" Courage yelled.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage began to climb the windmill with the wrench in Shaggy's hand. The cowardly trio's hearts pounded with terror as they all looked down at the skeletons, who were ready if they fell down again. The three pray they don't climb windmills. But as the trio were neared the top, Eustace's bag that Courage still had on him caught onto one of the blades of the windmill. But Courage did not seem to notice that and continued to climb up the blades, it was only until he reached the end of the blade on top that he noticed it.

"Why am I still wearing this tool-bag?!" Courage asked out loud to himself.

Courage tried to stay on the blade but struggled as the bag could not stretch anymore and began to pull him back down to the ground where all the demon skeletons had gathered, "Ooh-hoo-whoa!"

Shaggy and Scooby watched in horror, as their best friend fell to his doom.

Shaggy then noticed something on the wing Courage had clawed onto, "Huh? Hey, Scoob, take a look at this..."

"Oof!" Courage grunted, as he looked up with dread, as he saw the skeletons surrounding him, with no way out. "Um, you gentlemen aren't mad I threw tools at you, are you?"

The pink beagle got his answer, as the skeleton demons raise their weapons, Courage braced himself, for the fatal blow. However, before they could strike, they all vanished as the windmill started to spin again do to the bag somehow.

Courage plopped the bag off of him, as he dust himself off, relief that he was still in one piece, "At least we're safe for now."

"Stupid dog!" the pink beagle heard Eustace shouting.

"And I spoke too soon..." Courage sighed, he should of saw that coming.

"I told you, that stupid nephew and that other stupid dog not to move!" Eustace shouted, as he and Muriel walked back to windmill.

"Muriel, farmer, you'll never believe what me, Shaggy and Scooby saw! Every time the windmill stops turning, a fearsome horde of undead horse-backed riders would appear and attack us, like this!" Courage explained, as he transform and warn about what we just saw.

"You idiot dog!" Eustace simply yelled again.

"Oh, Eustace, he and the boys up there did get it going again," Muriel said, pointing to the temporarily working windmill, before shouting to her nephew and his dog, "Shaggy, Scooby, how are you doing up there?"

"Ruh... fine, fine!" Scooby repiled, as he look. at the blades in wonder. He wondered, if he should tell her about the evil looking skeletons that almost attack him and his best friends, but decided against it, she probably won't listen anyway.

"Like, yeah! We're okay, Aunt Muriel! Thank you for your concern!" Shaggy called down, also looking at the blades and was thinking the same thing Scooby was thinking.

"Anytime, dear!" Muriel replied, before turning to her husband, "Eustace, would you be a dear and let the boys relax for awhile? They could all use a well-deserved break."

Courage saw that the windmill was slowing down again, he groaned with dread, "Ooh, how can any of us relax at a time like this?" he knew it was a matter of time before those demons come back to finish of what they started.

"Ugh, fine! At least that Shaggy-haired fella and that other dog didn't leave that spot up there like I told them to, can't even trust this dog over here for ten seconds!" Eustace grumbled, while he climbed up the windmill.

"Why, what are those?" Muriel suddenly asked.

Looking up, Courage saw pieces of the blades falling down form the windmill, "Wow, I must've accidentally scratched the blades too hard..."

He was cut off, as he heard Scooby calling him from up the windmill, "Rey, Rourage, come up here! RI think you need to see this!"

Courage climbed up the windmill to see what this was all about, "Huh? What am I looking at here?"

"When you fell down the third time, Scooby and I saw these... weird-looking symbols behind each of the windmill's blades," Shaggy explained, as he pointed at the toward the strange looking symbols on the blades.

"Reah. Re're not sure why, but maybe they're clues that could help us solve this mystery," Scooby added, before realizing that he was started to sound like Fred or Velma, "Rait, did I just say that out loud?"

"Oh, great! Now we're starting to sound like the Gang!" Shaggy exclaimed, this is what he and Scooby get for joining Mystery Inc, when they're kids

Courage ignore his best friends' complaints, as he looked at the symbol blades closer, "Hmm, I think you guys are onto something. I wonder..." he then pulled out a camera and began taking pictures of the symbols.

"Rhat does it mean?" Scooby asked, the pink beagle

"I don't know, but the computer might give us an answer. Come on," Courage countered.

Going up to my the attic, Shaggy went to the computer and turned it on. Grabbing the photos, Scooby scanned them on the scanner while Courage began to type in the command.

"You three again? Let me guess: come to make me your console once more by inserting another ridiculous video game?" the computer asked, clearly not in a mood.

"Not this time, computer dude, like, we really need your help! It's an emergency!" Shaggy replied, not in a mood for the machine's sarcasm right now.

"Everything is always an emergency with you twits. Very well than, make it quick," the computer demanded.

"Alright, so what can you tell us about these symbols on the windmill's blades," Courage then began to type it in.

"The windmill was built by 250 years ago by the first owner of this farmhouse, Farmer Jiles Galette," the computer began, showing the image of an old timely picture of Farmer Jiles Galette.

"Farmer Jiles Galette?/Rarmer Riles Ralette?" Shaggy, Scooby and Courage asked, in unison.

"He built the windmill for his farm at the time when everyone else was dependent on water wheels built by a horde of vandals," the computer continued, as it show the images of the water wheels and the vandals when they're ALIVE.

"Rikes! Rhose are the same vandals that attacked us outside earlier!" Scooby exclaimed, as he started to shiver with fear.

"When the water dried up, Farmer Galette was the only man with a working mill, the vandals hated him for that. But Galette kept the vandals at bay by carving magical symbols into the blades of his windmill wheel. Legend has it, if the windmill ever stops turning, the vandals will rise from the dead and seek vengeance on all who possess it," the computer finished, as he show the last images of the history behind the windmill.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all give fearful glances at each other, this explains why those things kept coming back if the windmill ever stops turning.

"So, that's why those undead vandal dudes kept appearing and disappearing! When it turns, it prevents them from ravaging anyone. But when it stops, it causes them to continue their rampage!" Shaggy exclaimed, as he turned nervously to look out the window at the windmill to see that if it was slowing down a bit.

"Indeed. Lucky for us, it's just a storrrrr..." the computer began before trailing off as the power began to flicker again before going out.

Horror struck Courage, as he gasped with alarm, "The power's out... again!"

"Rou don't think..." Scooby gulped.

Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all looked out the window, and their hearts nearly stopped. The smoke reappeared.

Courage let out a terrified scream, causing the window of the attic to shattered.

"ZOINKS! LIKE, IT'S THE WINDMILL VANDALS!" Shaggy shrieked.

"RAND THERE HEADING STRAIGHT FOR RURIEL AND RUSTACE!" Scooby wailed.

"COME ON, WE GOTTA SAVE THEM OR ELSE THEY'RE GONERS!" Courage yelled, as he, Shaggy and Scooby ran out of the attic and then out of the house.

The three then ran up to Muriel and Eustace with the smoke getting closer.

"Oh, my!" Muriel exclaimed.

"Come on, Aunt Muriel, we need to get back inside the farmhouse as quickly as possible! It's not safe out here!" Shaggy shouted, desperate to get himself and his family out of danger.

"Those stupid dogs and nephew broke the thing worse than before!" Eustace shouted when he finished climbing back down from the windmill.

But at that moment, the vandals reached them.

"What's huh?" Eustace asked, finally noticing the smoke and the vandals surrounding the family, "What's this, a rodeo?!"

"Eustace, look out!" Muriel shouted, as a vandal approached them.

"Rehind you!" Scooby warned.

But Eustace did not heed the warning, "Huh?!"

Watching with horror, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage expected to see Eustace to get a fatal blow. The pale moon glinted unnaturally on the sword of the one of the vandals, Shaggy, Scooby and Courage all felt their blood run cold.

One of the vandal took the old skinny man's HEAD CLEAN OFF with a vicious single sword strike.

Shaggy, Scooby, Courage and Muriel screamed as they saw Eustace's BODY move around to try and find its head.

"It's the Fried Chicken from Outer Space all over again!" Shaggy exclaimed, the cowardly teen wanted to cover his eyes so he didn't have to watch anymore, but he was frozen to the spot.

"Hey! Give me back my body, give me back my hat and get your finger outta me ear!" the somehow still living head of Eustace demanded, the vandal who was holding his head like a trophy.

"Shaggy, Scooby, you guys stay right here! I'm gonna try and see if I can get the windmill turning again!" Courage told the hungry duo, as he climb up the windmill.

"But, like, you don't even have Uncle Eustace's socket wrench, little pink dude!" Shaggy pointed out, how on earth was Courage gonna turned on again?

But, he didn't have time to pondered on it as he heard yelling, "Raggy, duck!" the voice was Scooby.

Shaggy looked up in time to see a vandal wielding a sword decapitate his HEAD clean off his still moving body.

"Oh, great! Now how am I gonna eat without a stomach?!" the head of Shaggy exclaimed with an aptly shocked gasp, as he looked down at himself as opposed to his now body-less neck. His alarm only grew as while he could still feel his body, he was having trouble controlling it.

And to make matters worse, he was now in the hands of one of the evil vandals.

"RAGGY!" Scooby's absolutely terrified cry echoed, he was horrified. It was one thing to see Eustace without a body or a head, but one of your best friends? That was terrifying.

The vandals then give chase to Muriel and Scooby, as they both run for their lives. Courage manage to get hop on the blades and start running to speed along.

The vandals were close to get Muriel and Scooby as their next victims, fortunately, soon they disappeared as Courage got the windmill working again.

Scooby and Muriel turned to see the vandals were gone, but to their horror and heartbreak, they both saw saw Shaggy and Eustace's headless bodies stumbling around.

"Eustace, Shaggy! Oh, dear!" Muriel said, worried.

Feeling nauseous and scared out of his wits Scooby back from his owner's headless body, as it was stumbling around, for one horrible moment, the cowardly Great Dane almost wish he could faint.

"Courage, come down! We have to get inside and hide before they come back!" Muriel called out to her pet.

Scooby groaned and facepalmed, "Rhat's exactly what we were trying to tell you!"

"Mm-mm! I'm sorry, Muriel, but I can't!" Courage grunted from exhaustion, as he was running on the blade to make the windmill work.

"You can't? Why not?" Muriel asked, confused.

At this Courage stopped to take catch his breath with buckets of sweat coming down from his uncomfortably wet fur.

Instantly, the vandals appeared in front of Muriel and Scooby, the cowardly Great Dane and the old woman immediately screamed with terror.

"RHAT'S WHY! ROURAGE, KEEP TURNING!" Scooby screeched, in panic.

Luckily, before they could make a second strike, they disappeared as Courage began running frantically again.

"I'm turning as fast as I can!" Courage shouted, he didn't know how much longer he could keep up at this. But he didn't not allowing his legs to slow down in even the slightest.

Scooby felt his heart sank, he realized that Courage won't be able to run for long, already he looked exhausted.

"It's the windmill!" Muriel stated.

"Rhe only way to stop those vandals from coming back is to have our windmill turn again!" Scooby repiled.

"Well, we got to get it fix then! But, Courage, Scooby, only Eustace knows how to fix it," Muriel said, before remembering that Eustace was the only one who could fix it.

Unfortunately, because Scooby and Muriel were busy discussing this, they both did not pay attention to Eustace's body.

Scooby whirled around to see Eustace's body whirling around with a hammer his hand, Scooby froze with horror, "Reah, but his headless body can't!"

And because of that Eustace's body was stumbling around, it led to it destroying the corner of the windmill. Causing it along with Courage to fall down completely destroyed.

The vandals roared in anger when the reappeared, all four weapons raised, surrounding Muriel, Scooby and Courage. They all screamed with terror.

"NO!" Courage wailed as he squeezed his eyes shut. He didn't want to see the weapons coming down on them.

Courage felt Scooby picking him up and wrap his arms around his torso.

The cowardly pink beagle slowly opened his eyes, and his heart nearly stopped when he saw Muriel's head come off.

"Courage, Scooby, help!" the head of Muriel shouted, as the vandal started to carry her head away.

Courage let out a horrible scream, as his eye sockets nearly popped out of his skull. He felt like he was gonna be sick with terror. "NO, MURIEL!" No doubt in his mind, the image of his Muriel being without her head was gonna stick with him for awhile.

"Boys, help!" Muriel shouted with terror again.

Scooby and Courage both give horrified glances at each other.

"Is there a doctor in the house?!" Courage shouted.

"SCOOBY-DOO, WHERE ARE YOU?!" Courage and Scooby both heard their best friend scream with frantic.

"RI'm coming, Raggy!" Scooby exclaimed, as he started sprinted ahead to save his owner from the clutches of the vandal.

"Scooby, wait!" Courage called out, as he wanted him and Scooby to stick together, as they're the only ones left, without their heads being cut off. But Scooby was already far away.

But he didn't have time to react as the vandal, who had Muriel's head was heading straight towards him.

"Uh-oh!" Courage yelped, as he grab onto the cape of the vandals.

The vandal noticed the cowardly pink beagle clenching on his cape and rasped in anger.

"Um, hi, do you think you could give me back Muriel's head please?" Courage asked nervously and being polite, despite that his life was on the line.

The vandal fully stopped, but Courage managed to wrapped his cape around the vandal and bound him up.

"I'll take that as a yes!" Courage said, as he grabbed Muriel's head.

"Courage, get me onto my body!" Muriel told the little beagle.

"I'll try!" Courage replied, as he search for his owner's body, the moment he does he tossed Muriel's head to her body, "Go long, Muriel's body!"

Unfortunately, a vandal hit it at the last moment and sent her head flying in another direction.

"Ooh! Oh, my!" Muriel exclaimed.

Luckily, it was caught by Eustace's body, she sighed with relief. But when she saw what body her head was on, she panicked, "No no! That's not right!"

Courage screamed, "Wrong body!"

"Over here! Don't just stand there, get me back onto my body, so's I can fix this windmill!" Eustace shouted from behind the pink beagle.

Turning around, Courage saw an oblivious vandal standing there, grabbing his head, he was about to toss it but saw a vandal coming towards the pink beagle.

Looking up, Courage's eyes widened with fear as he saw the vandal that took Eustace's head was towering down on them, "Uh, farmer..." he whimpered in fear.

Before Courage had time to react, the vandal cut off his head, before he could no anything.

Courage felt the top of his head and panicked when he realized what happened and it caused Eustace's head to go on Courage's body.

"Now I'M a stupid dog!" Eustace said, as he put his hat on his head.

Back with Scooby, like with Courage, he was dealing with his own problems as he give chase to the vandal that cut off Shaggy's head.

"Save me, Scoob, I don't wanna stay a head forever!" Shaggy's head shouted.

The vandal decided to have some fun with Shaggy's head, as he lifted the head up and hit it for the other vandal to catch.

"DUDE, I'M HIT!" Shaggy screamed.

"RI got it, I got it!" Scooby called out, only for him to bumped into another vandal, "Ruh?!"

Before Scooby do anything, the vandal raise his sword and cut off his head.

"No, not my pal too!" Shaggy cried out with horror, as he saw the vandal taking his best friend's head off his body. He wasn't even paying when he landed on Scooby's body, "Oof!" He grunted as Scooby's body put Shaggy's head on it.

After claiming Scooby's head like a trophy, Scooby whimpered with fear, fortunately (or unfortunately) Shaggy's body leaped up and grabbed Scooby's head to put it on his body and the Scooby took control of it to keep running from the vandals.

Shaggy and Scooby looked at each other, and look bewildered at their heads in different bodies. The hungry duo looked at each other in silence, feeling very awkward.

"Roinks!" Scooby exclaimed, with Shaggy's catchphrase.

"Rike, this is embarrassing!" Shaggy commented, awkwardly.

"Uh, guys, a little help here?" Courage yelped, as the vandal that held Courage's head laughed.

But then got confused when Muriel's body jumped and grabbed Courage's head before placing it on its body.

"Nevermind, I'm good…" Courage said, but felt weird as he looked down on Muriel's body, "Sort of." This is the weirdest day of my life.

The trio and Eustace looked at each other for a moment.

"Rou guys too, huh?" Scooby said.

"You have no idea," Courage replied, not sure what to feel relief or awkward.

Suddenly they heard Muriel screaming, turning around the family saw she now being surrounded by the vandals.

"It's Muriel, she's in trouble!" Courage exclaimed, without thinking for a minute he grabbed Eustace's head off of his body, "Forgive me, farmer!"

Courage then ran up and tossed Eustace head like a bowling ball at the legs of the distracted Vandal's horses. Causing them to all fall to the ground, like bowling pins.

"STRIKE!" Courage shouted.

Muriel then went over to get her husband's head, who was laughing in a daze.

"Quick, before they get up!" Muriel yelled, as she put her husband's head back on her dog's body.

The family ran to get away from the cruel vicious vandals.

"I've run a lot before, but never as a dog! Seriously, Scooby, how do you even walk in all fours without trying?" Shaggy asked, as he stumbled a bit, and was out of curiosity despite the situation they're in.

Getting away from the vandals, the family find a moment to stop to try get their bodies straight.

"Okay, everyone, it's time to start fixing the windmill! But first, let's switch back to our regular bodies!" Courage stated.

Nodding, the family swapped heads so they had their proper heads on.

"Hurry!" Muriel cried, fearfully.

Turning around, Shaggy saw why they had to hurry, as the vandals started to get up and ready to finish this once and for all, "They're getting back up!"

"Rome on, people, let's go, go, go!" Scooby shouted.

Nodding, the family began to work on repairing the windmill. Fortunately, despite it being destroyed, all the pieces were fine as if it just got disassembled. Which made the process easier in putting it back together.

"Hurry, they're coming!" Muriel exclaimed, with panic.

"We know, we know!" Courage called out, pray that they get this done in time.

After a few tense minutes, the base was finished and the family just need to fix the top part.

"You done yet, Uncle Eustace!" Shaggy asked with panic, as he looked down with dread when he saw the vandals getting closer to his aunt, as she screamed with fear.

"Almost, just need a new pod to keep the wheel in place!" Eustace replied.

"Rone pod, coming up!" Scooby obliged, as he used his tail to grabbed the new pod that was by him and handed over to the farmer.

"I never thought I say this, but thanks, you slobberin' dog!" Eustace said, uncharacteristically.

"NOW!" Courage cried.

"Turn, baby! Turn!" Eustace said, as the windmill began to turn by itself again.

"It's working!" Shaggy said.

"Rhe windmill's fixed!" Scooby added.

"Yay!" Courage cheered.

And as soon as the windmill started, the vandals disappeared.

"Oh! Eustace, you did it!" Muriel said, Eustace climbed back down.

"No, Muriel, WE did it together," Eustace said, in a uncharacteristic voice.

This left Shaggy, Scooby and Courage shock, they never heard this old grumpy farmer give credit to them.

"Like, did you hear that, dudes? For once, Uncle Eustace is giving us some credit!" Shaggy said.

"Rhat's a first and probably the only time he does too," Scooby reminded, knowing this moment will not last long.

Courage sighed with relief, for now he was just glad that he and his family are safe with their heads in their shoulders (literally) "It's a miracle, you guys, we finally got our windmill turning again and the vandals will never bother us again! Thank you, Farmer Jiles Galette…"

Courage stopped dead, as he swiftly turned his head to look at the windmill blades again "Huh?"

"Zoinks! Those symbols are making... some kind of picture, but what?" Shaggy asked, also noticing something off about the blades.

Looking closely, they could see an image appear, but it was only blocks that resembled him. But after a moment, they formed together and showed Galette smiling at the surprised three best friends while holding his fingers in a peace sign.

"Ris that... Rarmer Riles Ralette?" Scooby questioned, with bewilderment.

"Uh, Shaggy, Scooby..." Courage said, as he and his best friends started to back away nervously from the windmill.

But they all didn't realize until too late that the three reached the edge and fell over, and because of this they all landed on Muriel and Eustace, causing all five lay on the floor with their heads off again.

"Oh, wicket! Now look what you three made us do!" Eustace's head snapped.

"Look on the bright side, Uncle Eustace, at least the windmill isn't broken anymore, heh," Shaggy's head laughed nervously, trying to brightened the situation.

"Stupid dogs and nephew!" Eustace's head grumbled.

"Guess that's one way to put all our heads together," Courage's head commented, with pun.

"SCOOBY-DOOBY-" Scooby's head begin shouting, before fell off to the side, "Whoa, oof! DOO!"

Well that's all for this chapter, next will be The Uncommon Cold. I like to thank Aartman7141999 schweenieboy and Angry9guy for the quotes and ideas. Let me guys know in the reviews/comments of what should I do for the future episodes or next chapter. And what Courage should say in future chapters. Until then this is vakarns signing out.

The Uncommon Cold: Scooby and Courage seeks a cure for Shaggy and Muriel's unusual colds among some swamp-slugs enslaved by a snake named Big Bayou from Yoruba Mythology. The cure lies in Big Bayou's book, which Shaggy, (who stubbornly refuses to rest and insists on helping his friends.) Scooby and Courage must steal in order to heal Shaggy and Muriel and free the slugs. (Note: this is similar to the My Little Pony episode: A Health of Information where Shaggy refuses to rest, despite Scooby and Courage's protest.)
