The Quest Of The Potter's Prologue Part 2: Before the Sorcerer's Stone; Lilly and James's Story
(Sunday, August 20, 2000: 11:35 AM: The Goblin Nation, The Goblin Palace:)
Lilly, James and Sirius turned around after they said their goodbyes to their friends and walked back into the war room. On reentering the room Sirius, Lilly and James sat down since the head of the Black family Regulus Axel Black, Cassie along with Andromeda Elizabeth Tonks, Edward Jacob Tonks and their daughter Nymphadora Alyssa Tonks were sitting with the king and queen of the goblin nation waiting for their return. Sirius knew his cousin in-law Edward liked to be called "Ted" or "Teddy" by his close friends and family. For the life of him he really didn't know why witches and wizards would call him those names, but right at the present time his biggest problem is why his grandfather, cousins and cousin in-law were still at the goblin palace. He needed to know and he was determined to find out one way or another.
Sirius looked at his grandfather folding his arms as he sat back in his chair with an icey glare. It took a few moments before he even spoke a word towards Regulus Black. "Alright Lord Black, let's cut the bullshit, let's forget the fucking titles and talk normally." He said and this made the head of the Black family nod quietly. He folded his fingers together before sitting forward resting his hands on the table giving Sirius a sharp look as he answered. "Very well mutt. What do you wish to discuss with me." asked Regulus. This didn't unfaze Sirius and he sat forward mimicking his grandfather before he continued to speak. "What in the fuck is your game Regulus, and further more why are you, Cassie, aunt Andi, uncle Teddy and Tonks still doing here. What do you want." He asked sternly. Regulus looked at Lilly, James, Nymphadora, Edward and Andromeda before looking at a nursing Harry on Lilly's breast. He looked at Sirius before even answering. "Fine, fine mutt. I concede in answering for now. Just keep this in mind, I won't forgive you and come hell or high water; if you disrespect this family you'll be a dead mutt." He told him and then continued to speak. "What I want is this fucking war to end you jackass of a mutt, but alas I don't see that happening just yet. Besides that, what I want is to know if Harry has shown any metamorphic ability like Nymphadora." He answered.
Nymphadora perked up from her coloring and threw her crayons at the head of the Black family as her hair turned a fiery red speaking. "Don't you call me Nymphadora, I hate that name." she said while Regulus ducked at the crayons flying towards him. The old man knew that the young girl was powerful since she was able to speak in full sentences before she was able to walk. He didn't want to upset the little girl any further raising his hands as to show her that he was meaning nothing by calling her by her full name. Looking at Nymphadora he gave a rare genuine smile before he spoke like an upper class noble. "Forgive me little princess for my use of your name. It was an error on my part. What would you like to be called if I may ask." He said, and this caused Nymphadora to think making the crayons stop flying around falling to the floor. After several minutes of thought Nymphadora answered Regulus. "Call me Tonks, only family can call me Dora though." She said and this made Regulus raise an eyebrow before he spoke once again. "What about your cousin Harry, what can he call you once he starts talking." He asked and Nymphadora placed a finger to her chin looking at the ceiling pondering for a few minutes. Once she thought about it she looked at Regulus giving him her answer. "Nym, or Nymph. Only cousin Harry can call me that no one else." She said with her arms folded acting like she was very, very serious.
Regulus started to laugh seeing how cute Nymphadora was acting trying to sound grown up when she was just a year old. He wiped away some tears as he was speaking to Nymphadora. "Fine, Fine, only Harry can call you Nym, or Nymph. We'll call you Tonks from now on, is that fine with you little princess." He said and with a wide smile Nymphadora made her hair turn blonde with pink high-lights as she nodded. With a smile from Regulus he then turned back to Lilly, James and Sirius before speaking. "Now that that is settled, can I get an answer." He said in an almost demanding tone. Lilly shook her head as she replied. "No Lord Black, Harry hasn't shown any metamorphic ability like Nymphadora. But if I may sir, why do you ask if my son has the same ability." Lilly asked wondering. Regulus Black nodded since this was important for both Lilly and James to know. He sat back in his chair so he can think over how best to answer Lilly. He sat forward thinking the truth would be the best action since this was dealing with essentially his great-grandson. Speaking more like a doting grandfather he looked at Lilly. "Honestly Lilly, James and Harry are a part of the Black family. The Metamorphmagus ability has been passed down in our family for as long as we can remember. Of course however it does skip a generation or two. The last metamorph in the family before Dora was my grandfather Cygnus Black. He didn't have the ability that Dora has, but he did have it. If my hunch is correct Harry might have the same thing as Dora, hence why I asked. If he does have it, I think it would be a great asset to have in the future." He told her.
Lilly looked at her son Harry who was still nursing on her breasts with his eyes closed. She smiled before looking back up to Lord black responding. "We'll keep an eye on our son to see if he has Metamorphmagus ability. If he does then we'll make sure to have him learn how to control his ability." She told him, and with another nod Regulus then turned his attention to the Goblin King and Queen. He rubbed his chin before he spoke expressing a concern. "King Taverx, Queen Alsea I am not meaning any disrespect, but I need to know if this plan you have will actually work. I am a bit doubtful since this is dealing with my family, and as a Black that means family comes first. As the saying goes; you fuck with one Black you fuck with all of us. You could say were like a goblin, there is nowhere you can hide from a Black. What is the real plan for my family, and you'll have to excuse my doubts." He said causing the goblin king to raise an eyebrow. He grinned showing his pointy teeth before letting out a booming laughter. It was so deep and loud it woke a sleeping Harry making him start to cry. His booming laughter had another affect making Cassie and Dora to jump. King Taverx raised a hand as he spoke. "I do apologize my daughter for waking my grandson. I also apologize to both of you young ladies for scaring you…" he told them before turning to Regulus continuing to speak. "You speak like a true goblin Lord Black." He answered.
King Taverx sat forward interlacing his fingers looking over them and took a minute to think before he spoke. "The plan is really quite simple. If anyone dies from this family they all go into hiding with their children until they start to read. This is what you already know, but after our last meeting I have a back-up just in case this plan doesn't work. This secondary plan is like the first, however Harry will be hidden with us while his witch's and godbrother are separated until such time as they enter Hogwarts. The only thing that will connect each child to each other I.E. Harry's witch's will be the rings each witch will wear around their necks. As we are speaking, I have the best goblin craftsmen, jewelers, warders and charms masters working on them. I will admit that even the best laid plans can go awry. It's also a wise idea to have backups with backups." He said and Queen Alsea placed a hand on her husband's arm.
Queen Alsea then looked at Regulus Black as King Taverx nodded conceding to his wife since she has been quietly listening. She soon spoke looking at the old wizard. "Lord Black, as you may know goblins are not the ones to just have a trophy wife to where a wife is to just be seen on the arm staying quiet unless spoken too. We are given our chance to speak if it is important enough. With that being said, why do you question the plan and why are you in doubt." She asked and this caused Regulus to nod his head and raise a hand. He soon gave the queen an answer. "Your highness, I don't mean any disrespect in the goblins or this plan, but my worry is in young Cassie. I am a very busy man and I have a lot of enemies. With this war I know I am a target and I worry about her safety and what would happen to her if I was picked off." He explained and queen Alsea understood then looked at little Cassie who was sitting next to Dora just coloring away quietly letting the adults talk. She looked at her grandson who was cradled in Lilly's arms sound asleep before turning to Regulus. She was going to start speaking but saw Andromeda and Edward look at each other and decided to speak to them first. "Lord and lady Tonks do you have an idea about what to do if Lord black falls during this war." She asked them.
Andromeda and Edward nodded to each other before sitting up just a bit straighter as Andromeda spoke what they were thinking. "We may have an idea, Cassie is our cousin and we'll be happy to take her in and watch over her until she becomes a lady to house Potter. That is if Lord Black agrees. I am a medi-nurse and Ted is a Solicitor in the Wizengamot and we do have a house in the muggle world far enough away from Voldemort. I am sure that we can move our work load around or work from home if needed." she told them. Regulus gave what Andromeda said some thought before he sat forward speaking. "I can live with that Andi, I'll make sure that little Cassie is well taken care of and make sure your reimbursed for any extra expenses you may pay out of your own pocket." He said causing Andromeda and Edward to smile. Regulus Black stood up and adjusted his robe as he spoke. "Since my business is done here I will take my leave. Andi, Ted if you wish we can discuss the finer points for Cassie's care." He said and then bowed to the king and queen continuing to speak. "Your highness, may your enemies fall at your feet with your blades and may needles be stuck in their eyes." He said to them. King Taverx nodded while Sirius stood up. He soon spoke looking at Lord Black. "And may your vaults be lined with the gold of your enemies this day." He said giving him the proper reply. Sirius adjusted his robe as he spoke. "Well if you all excuse me, I have a witch with blonde hair calling for a date. I can't let a good auror witch be left alone for too long, especially if it is a handsome hit wizard such as myself." He told everyone with a smirk.
Lilly rolled her eyes before she spoke. "Fucking horndog. You'll chase any woman with your tail wagging just to get a piece of tail." She said sarcastically. Sirius transformed into his animagus form of a big black shaggy dog wagging his tail with puppy-dog eyes. Lilly bent over looking down at Sirius as she spoke once again. "Oh the puppy-dog eye routine don't work on me Sirius. How would you like a newspaper to the nose for trying to even pull something as stupid as this." she said to him. Sirius laid down on his belly placing both of his paws over his snout whimpering. Lilly once again rolled her eyes as she spoke. "Ha, ha Sirius. Very funny. Don't you even think of pulling this stunt. I'll get the newspaper." She said and then pulled her wand. Sirius transformed back into being human before he answered. "Lil's you wouldn't dare, would you?" he asked and Lilly stepped forward before placing her wand under his chin. It took a second as she replied. "You want to see how fast you'll get a newspaper to your snout mutt." She told him sounding seriously. Sirius looked to James as Lilly had her wand still under his chin speaking. "Your wife is still scary prongs." He told him and James just shook his head. He walked up placing a hand on his shoulders as he spoke. "You have no idea Padfoot. It's been worse since we have been cooped up in the castle. You best be going before my wife takes that newspaper to you, and give our best to Amelia for us." he told him. Sirius nodded with a smile and everyone left the war room with king Taverx.
Lilly put away her wand letting out a sigh before muttering something to herself. James smiled warmly seeing his wife Lilly still have the same temperament since they were in school. He walked over and kissed Lilly and kissed Harry before he said a word. "I'll be right back my doe, I'm going to floo-call our friends about the backup plan." He told her causing Lilly to smile. She nodded before responding. "Alright love, I'll be with mother and hurry back. I miss you every time you're not with me." she said. James gave her a reasureing hug as he spoke once again. "Lil's, don't let Padfoot get to you. He knows you're a married witch and off limits." Said James and Lilly sighed as he left. Lilly turned to her adopted mother and was going to say something but the doors to the war room opened and a young goblin came hurrying in carrying a baby. What caused Lilly to gain his immediate attention was the fact that he looked disheveled with worry. The young goblin did his best to do a proper bow since he had a baby in his arms as he spoke. "Great queen Alsea, please excuse my appearance. I need help, it's my daughter Sapphire. I don't know what happened to her." He said in one breath. Queen Alsea looked to the young goblin with concern before she replied. "Master Arierm, please take a breath and try and relax, and then try telling me what is going on. I am sure your daughter Sapphire is just fine." she told him, and then turned to Lilly continuing to speak. "Master Arierm is one of our personal jewelers, quite a gifted one at that. His talent for his craft is just below our royal master jeweler." She explained and Lilly nodded.
Lilly turned to the young goblin and saw he was somewhat calmed down causing her to speak. "Master Arierm you will have to excuse me for not knowing who you are. I met many goblins so I don't remember all of their names. Mother and I were going to put Harry down in his crib and then get a cup of tea. Why don't you come with us and tell us what the problem is with your daughter Sapphire." She requested to him and the young goblin had to take a step back looking shocked. He had to take a few moments to collect himself before giving a nod instead of a bow. The three of them left the war room and were soon walking down the hallway towards Harry's nursery and Arierm spoke. "You'll have to forgive me your highness and princess for being a mess. Sapphire is the only thing that I have left in my life, I'll do anything to protect her. My wife died during the bank attack, she was there just filing some paperwork on a goblin design I came up with when it happened. So you see why Sapphire means so much to me." He told them and both Queen Alsea and Lilly stopped dead in their tracks upon hearing this. The queen looked at Arierm as she spoke. "Oh Arierm, I am so sorry for your loss. Your wife will be in the halls of gold watching down on both of you." she told him and this made the young goblin to nod. He soon spoke as they continued to walk down the hall. "Thank you your highness for your condolences. I am out of my depth when it comes to my daughter. She started to glow a gold color a few days ago and my wife was going to look into it, but never got the chance. So you see where my concern is, I don't know what this gold light was that surrounded my daughter. I took her to a healer asking, but all she said was that Sapphire was healthy and fine. She couldn't find anything wrong with her." Said Arierm. Lilly almost laughed as they entered Harry's nursery but kept herself together. She laid Harry down in his crib covering him up with his blanket before turning to the young goblin speaking. "Master Arierm, why don't you let your daughter Sapphire lay with my son in his crib. While we go have some tea I'll explain what is going on with your daughter Sapphire." She said and the goblin nodded.
Lilly took baby Sapphire from the worried father and laid her next to a sleeping Harry. She waited a few seconds and the gold light appeared when Sapphire's little hand bumped Harry's arm. This even got queen Alsea to smile before turning to the young father speaking. "Master Arierm, do you know what a soul bond is?" She asked and the young father nodded. He looked at his daughter while he responded. "Yes your highness I do. They are bonds to a soulmate. It is done by blood when one cuts their palms reciting the bond oath. My wife and I had one and it was blue going from our hands to our hips. But what does that have to do with my daughter Sapphire. I don't mean any disrespect. I am just worried about her." He said and Lilly placed a hand on Arierm's shoulder to calm his fears. She smiled looking down at him speaking. "Master Arierm, your daughter is bonded, she is soul bonded to my son that is what the gold light you saw was. We don't know why this happened to her or the others. But it is the best thing for them and this means she is very protected by the royal family forever. In extension that even includes you as well. Why don't we let the babies get a nap in and we'll go talk over a cup of tea." She said to him.
Arierm nodded and the three adults walked out of the room. As Lilly was closing the nursery door she smiled seeing both babies sleeping soundly un aware of the dangers of a war and what lies ahead in their future. They don't know about the forces gathering that will shake not just the magical world but the muggle world as well.
(Sunday, August 20, 2000: 2:30 PM: Somewhere in England, Unknown Location:)
Bellatrix was rocking a blonde baby boy laughing maniacally while her master Voldemort was using the cruciatus curse on another one of his victims. She looked down at her son as he reached up to her while she spoke. "See son our master don't like it when you don't give him information." She said happily causing her son Draco to babel. Voldemort released his prisoner from the cruciatus curse before sitting on his throne while his followers coward in fear. Two of his Death-eaters ran up to the latest victim before grabbing her by the heels dragging her out of Voldemort's sight. He then looked at his followers as a wizard was roughly drug in and he spoke to them all. "Why is it that no one will give me what I want. All I want is to have us be where we belong, rulers over those who are lower than us true pure-bloods." He said and then stood up walking over to the wizard. He gave an evil smile while his read eyes flashed before pulling his wand speaking once again. "Take this wizard for example. Pure-blood if I ever saw one, and yet he defies me." He finished saying. The young wizard looked into Voldemort's eyes even though he looked like he got hit by a truck spitting in his face before speaking. "The Bones family will never follow a megalomaniac. You can torture me, you can break my bones, but the Bones family will never bow to you Voldemort." He stated and this just made Voldemort smile evilly. He walked around the young wizard not looking at him but speaking to his followers. "Ah, very brave words from a blood-trader. I like your heart boy, I'll give you one last chance. Give me the location of those who defy me and join the side who will offer you protection." He told him. The wizard stood there as broken as he was proud while he spoke. "Never!" He said and Voldemort whipped around speaking. "Pity, Avada-Kedavra." He shouted and a green light shot out of his wand. The young wizard crumpled to the floor dead.
Voldemort nudged his foot to move the now dead wizard's head speaking to no one particular. "Nagini, Dinner!" Out of nowhere a very large snake came slithering out of the darkness making all of the Death-Eaters either take a step back or jump with fright and Voldemort cackled with laugher. As Nagini was devouring what her master gave her Voldemort walked back to his throne sitting on it. A scream was heard echoing throughout the hideout causing Voldemort to speak. "Wormtail!" he called; and a short, plump, balding man with long fingers and a long nose came scurrying in bowing at his masters feet. He spoke after he kissed his masters robes. "Master, master what can I do for you. I am your willing servant." He said shaking. Voldemort tugged his robes out of Wormtail's hands looking down at him. "Stop your groveling and sniveling Wormtail. You are just trying to curry favor from me and this displeases me. Though you have been a good rat getting me what I need, and that is information. I gave you a direct order to keep our guests quiet, tell me Wormtail why do I hear them." he asked coldly and this caused Wormtail to back away cowering as he shook. His fellow Death-Eaters laughed at the sniveling fat man.
Voldemort on the other hand wasn't too pleased not getting a response right away staring daggers into him as he spoke. "Well Wormtail, speak. Why is our guest making noise." He asked again. Wormtail flinched while his fellow Death-Eaters continued to laugh. Wormtail answered seeing it was better the being put under the cruciatus curse or worse, dead. "I-I-I-I'm sorry my lord. I-I-I-I'll go shut the Bones bitch up for you." he answered backing away. As Wormtail was leaving the room Voldemort looked at Bellatrix who was showing off her ample round 42-Triple-D breasts as her son Draco was nursing. Every Death-Eater knew that Bellatrix was a very hot looking witch with a slim waist and with perfectly soft rounded 42-Triple-D breasts she was one witch any guy would give their own nuts to if they were able to just have one night of sex with her. However they didn't even dare since they knew the witch would curse them at a drop of a wand if they even tried. Bellatrix was the one to fear out of the all the Death-Eaters and she knew it. She knew that if anyone even stepped in her direction wanting to take her to bed she would use her favorite way to curse the poor unlucky bastard using her favorite curse, The Cruciatus Curse.
Bellatrix was only loyal to three men in her life, one was her son Draco who was nursing happily on her breast, the other was her husband Lucius who she would gladly take to bed any time he requested. The last man she was loyal to was Voldemort himself, if he even had to ask she would be more than happy to strip out of her clothes and let him have his way with her even if she was a married witch. She would even be more than willing to bear his child if he wanted. Voldemort gained her attention from her thoughts as she was looking down at her son. He spoke looking at the nursing Draco. "Ah, Bellatrix, I see the Malfoy heir is present this evening. Has he been growing properly." He asked, and Bellatrix bowed her head instead of giving her master a low bow he deserved. She soon answered what her master asked of her. "Yes my Lord, my son Draco has been growing properly so one day he can stand at your side proudly just like his mother and father." She answered as a wide smile came across her face. Voldemort nodded his approval before he spoke once again. "Of course Bellatrix. I would welcome the Malfoy heir to stand proudly at my side like his parents." He told her and this made Bellatrix shiver with delight getting praised by her master.
Voldemort's attention along with his most loyal Death-Eaters eyes fell onto the three wizards who came walking in. Voldemort evilly smiled seeing Lucius Malfoy, Bartemius Crouch and Severus Snape walking up to him. Lucius walked up kissing Bellatrix on her cheek and then kissed his son Draco on the forehead before walking up kneeling down in front of Voldemort bowing his head with the others. Voldemort spoke looking at the three wizards kneeling down in front of him. "Ah Lucius, Barty and Severus, it is good for you to join us this evening." he told them, and Lucius kissed Voldemort's robes before he responded. "Yes my lord, thank you for staying at my home. You do me a great honor with you being here." He replied. Voldemort gave Lucius an icey glare with his red eyes as he spoke. "No one likes a suck-up Lucius, what news do you three bring to me this evening." he ordered. Lucius stayed knelt down as he answered. "The Longbottom's are still defying you my lord. The Potter's have been moved and we don't know where they were moved too." He said and Voldemort nodded. He started to play with his wand while stroking his familiar feeling relaxed as he spoke. "Ah I see Lucius, it seems that the Potter's fear me like the ministry does. I'll have Wormtail keep an eye on the Potter cottage in Godric's Hollow." He said, and this caused Lucius to speak once again. "Yes My lord. I would be honored to take out the Potter's. They defied you twice my lord." He said. Voldemort quickly with ice in his vanes looking at Lucius. "No the Potter's are mine to deal with. That son of their's must die at my hand and my hand alone." He said causing everyone to shiver while Bellatrix laughed maniacally.
Voldemort turned his attention away from Lucius and spoke to Bartemius. "Barty what of the Ministry. What news do you bring to your lord." He demanded. Bartemius looked up from his kneeling position as he quickly answered his lord and master. "There is nothing new my lord. The ministry is in chaos still after your brilliant attack on Bones Manor. Minister Bagnold is beside himself trying to stop you my lord, and he has the aurors chasing their own tails." He replied causing Voldemort to nod as he spoke.
"Excellent work, Barty. It seems that the minister's usefulness has almost come to an end. Let him continue to just stay blind to reality." he said and this caused Barty to nod. Voldemort then looked at Severus continuing to speak. "And you Severus, what news do you bring me. what of Dumbledore, what is he planning to go against me." He asked and Severus looked at Voldemort. He didn't hesitate to speak because he knew the punishment would be sever. "My lord, Dumbledore and his Order of the Phoenix has not moved. They are like trying to figure out how Bones Manor was attacked. Their like mice shivering in a corner as a cat is peering down at them. I beg of you my lord and I wish to not step out of line. Please if you go after the Potter's stay your hand against Lilly. I don't care about the brat or his father, all I care about is Lilly. I will make her one of us one way or another." He said and this caused Voldemort to raise an eyebrow before speaking. "Why Severus, she is nothing more than a filthy goblin and a blood-trader to all witch and wizard kind. What makes you think that I will stay my righteous hand to someone like that." He asked.
Severus answered quickly as to not upset Voldemort. "Because my lord, I have loved the woman since we met, and I wish her to be mine and mine alone." He replied, and Voldemort soon spoke. "Pity Severus, you dream of a future that you can never have. You are blindly obsessed with your own hatred for her husband James. Lilly Potter will never be of any value to me and she will never love you as you want Severus." He told him coldly causing Severus to look in shock. Bellatrix soon spoke looking at Voldemort. "My lord, what about the Longbottom's" she asked, and Voldemort smirked. He got up from his throne walking up to Bellatrix before running a cold hand over Draco's head speaking. "Patience my little viper. I'll let you out to play on my choosing. When the time is right I'll send you and the Carrow's to have your fun with the Longbottom's. For now my dear Viper; you make sure that the next Malfoy heir gets stronger and I want you to spend time with your husband. It would benefit me more if you produced more Malfoy heirs to serve at my side. I will not have anyone who is weak stand at my side." He told her. Bellatrix beamed a vicious smile like a child in a toy store. All of Voldemort's followers shook with fear knowing that Bellatrix would be ruthless once she was out to play. Bellatrix bowed her head before she answered after hearing her master. "Yes my lord, thank you. I will do as you request of me my lord. Momma Bella needs to play, I have been cooped up for to long." She said. Voldemort gave a sharp nod understanding Bellatrix. Since she was seven months pregnant with Draco she has been forbidden to do any raids. He looked into Bellatrix's eyes as he continued to speak. "Soon my little viper, very soon we will strike." He told her and then walked away.
Bellatrix let out a maniacal laugher as Voldemort walked back to his throne. All of his faithful followers looked at him anticipating his next words. It took Voldemort a few minutes before he said a word. "Wormtail!" He called, and within a few minutes Wormtail came running in and knelt down at Voldemort's feet not saying a word. Voldemort looked down at his feet and sniffed like he just stepped in a pile of dragon shit. He soon spoke to the quivering little man. "Wormtail you displeased me in our last encounter. I have a job for you. I want you to go to Godric's hollow and find out how to get to the Potter's. I want you to stay there until you get me what I seek, and that is easy even for a simpleton like you. If you see the Potter's send word and don't fail me Wormtail. You know what happens to those who fail me." he told him. Wormtail shuddered not saying a word. He turned around and went to leave. When he was just at the doors to where Voldemort was sitting, Voldemort raised his wand shooting a stinging hex at him. Wormtail jumped and yelped as Voldemort spoke. "You best hurry Wormtail or I'll do much worse when we next meet." He told him. This got Wormtail to move a lot faster and he heard his fellow Death-eaters howl with laughter. Voldemort soon turned his attention to his followers before he spoke once again. "Leave me, I need some time to think." He told them, and without fail they all left the sight of Voldemort. No one wanted to endure Voldemort's wrath if they didn't.
(Sunday, October 31, 2000: 6:30 PM: Godric's Hollow:)
Lilly and James were at their cottage in Godric's hollow and they were as jumpy as a cat. Lilly looked at James just before she gave him a kiss on the cheek than spoke. "James I don't feel safe here. I understand that we're here because we're here to pick things up that we forgot and things for Harry, but please hurry and look for what we're missing. I'll put Harry down in his crib and then come join you to help with your search." She said and James nodded. He knew that they could cast a spell to gather everything they needed, but with the latest attack from Voldemort and his Death-Munchers Lilly and James couldn't afford to use any magic. With them being as powerful magically as they were, it was like a big red beacon saying here we are, come kill us. Lilly took Harry upstairs to his crib in the little cottage and get a few diaper-bags filled. As she was gathering everything by had she heard James come up the stairs speaking. "Now where did I put the damn thing. I swear I put my invisibility cloak in the closet next to the front door." He muttered to himself.
Just as James was halfway in the hallway they both felt the wards to the cottage shake with emence power. They both knew who could shake the wards as they're eyes locked onto each other. James quickly spoke to his wife. "Lily grab Harry and go. It's Voldemort, he here. I'll hold him off just long enough for you to escape with our son." He told her. Lilly shook her head as she replied. "No James, I can't. I can't leave you. You can't sacrifice yourself, Harry needs his father too." She told him and this caused James to respond. "Lilly this is no time to argue, Voldemort is here and he'll kill all of us." he said. Outside in the village square of Godric's Hollow several witches, wizards and goblin guards were battling a swarm of Death-Eaters. One goblin yelled out to his fellow goblins in gobble-De-Gook. "Centerton warriors form ranks! Don't give any quarter, Push these bastards back! Don't let them near our prince and princess. For the honor of the goblin nation!" he hollered and the goblins formed ranks with shields making a wall. All the witches and wizards saw this and ran over behind the goblins giving covering fire from behind. The battle was being fought hard and it looked like there was going to be a massive loss of life and soon Minerva, Filius, Madeye Moody, and several other witches and wizard appeared joining in the fight.
As Godric's Hollow was a battlefield Voldemort made his way to the cottage of Lilly and James. He casually walked in since he took down their wards easily thanks to Wormtail, who was following close behind him. he had his wand out and slowly walked up the stairs after hearing footsteps. The first Potter he saw was James and he spoke. "Voldemort! You'll never get to my wife and son! I'll die first before you lay a hand on them!" he said and then spotted Wormtail. He had murder in his eyes as he continued to speak. "You, You let Voldemort here and in my house! I thought you were our friend. You traitorous bastard! We never should have used you as our Secret Keeper. I swear by the end of this night you're a dead rat Peter!" he barked and this caused Voldemort to laugh. Once his laughter stopped Voldemort looked at James speaking. "Ah yes, Wormtail is just a coward and he was the one who gave me the key to your wards Potter. A rat if I ever saw one. I'll give you one last chance Potter, Join me or die by my hand." He said and James knew he needed to keep Voldemort talking. It would give Lilly a chance to escape with their son Harry. He shook his head as he replied. "Never Voldemort! I am a Potter and we don't bow down to megalomaniacs unlike some. I fight you until my very last breath." He said and this got Voldemort to laugh once again.
Voldemort stop laughing and started tapping the tip of his wand to his chin as he spoke. "You remind me of another wizard, now who as it… Ah yes, Now I remember. It was that bones bastard, he too said the same thing just before he died. It's a real pity you and your pretty witch won't join me, Oh well I guess you'll join the rest of your blood-trader family… Avada-Kedavra!" he said pointing his wand directly at James's chest. James crumpled to the floor and Voldemort stepped over the dead body. He saw a lamp light in a room and knew that this was the nursery where his true target lay. With a flick of his wand the door burst open and he looked into the bright emerald green eyes of Lilly Potter. they were flashing with anger and worry. Voldemort didn't care to have a conversation with the witch. He already spent enough time here. He spoke looking at Lilly. "Move you silly girl. I have no interest in you. It is the boy I am after." He demanded. Lilly glanced at Harry before speaking. "No Please Not Harry! Not my son! Not Harry!" she said and with not a care in the world a bright green light hit Lilly dead center in the chest. She fell to the floor dead and Voldemort nudged her head with his foot as an evil smirk came across his face. He then looked up at a now crying Harry sitting in his crib. He raised his wand before he spoke. "Now to get rid of you. Once you die Harry Potter, I'll live forever… now die! Avada-Kedavra!" he said and there was an explosion.
Peter Pettigrew was thrown against the dresser being knocked out. Outside in Godric's Hollow everyone stopped and saw Lilly and James's cottage with a gaping hole in the side of it and the roof was blown off. Minerva McGonagall shouted. "LILLY, JAMES, HARRY! OH MY GOD! NO, PLEASE NO NOT THE POTTER'S!" she said and then slumped to the ground as many of the death-eaters howled with laughter. Everyone heard a Death-Eater call out within seconds. "Fall back, our Lord finished what he accomplished. Everyone fall back!" he said and within those words all the Death-Eaters vanished one by one. it was a tense few minutes and through the chaos two goblins who were under disillusionment made their way into the cottage. They both checked on James and they nodded seeing that to anyone who saw him he was dead, but in reality he was still alive thanks to the armband he wore under his shirt. They moved to the broken door to the nursery to check on Lilly before turning to check on Harry. They both noticed that he had a deep cut on his forehead. The looked at each other after feeling dark magic coming from the deep cut. One of the goblins spoke in Gobby-De-Gook to the other. "We can't move them yet. Prince Harry needs to be seen as soon as possible. That gash on his forehead has dark magic. Don't touch our princess or prince just yet." he whispered before both goblins moved to the corner of the room staying quiet.
Outside in Godric's Hollow everyone was now gathering the dead and healing the wounded as a tall old wizard with a long white beard appeared. He had a crooked nose and was wearing half-moon glasses over his blue eyes. This person was none other than Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts. He looked at the now destroyed cottage and a small grin came across his face which no one saw. He knew that now with Lilly, James and Harry dead he could own Hogwarts with no one even questioning him. Minerva and Filius quickly walked up to Albus gaining his attention. Minerva looked at the destroyed cottage as tears streamed down her face speaking. "Albus the Potter's… their… their oh god I can say it. I just can't say what happened to them…" she said causing Albus to look sad. He somberly nodded as he replied. "I know Minnie, I know. The Potter's are no longer with us and the world has lost a powerful and wonderful family." He said to her and then turned to Filius. "Filius this is a sad night, and you along with Minnie need some time to heal. But I need a favor from you both before you can take the night off. I wish for you both to go to little Whinging in Surrey and look in on the Dursley's. They are the only family that is left of the Potter's. I will stay here and help with the cleanup." He told them as he saw Little Harry lay in his crib. Albus didn't looked too pleased that there was a potter left alive. He didn't say anything to Minerva or Filius about Harry and he wouldn't until he took care of him. He soon smirked to himself as a thought came through his head. He knew exactly how to get rid of Harry and when he did, he would tell Minerva and Filius a lie to keep them off what his true intentions were.

Author's Note 2: I know this chapter is short and I am hoping to have the start of this story be a bit longer, so please bear with me. I do hope everyone liked this chapter as I did try my best to the story. I thought it would be a bit of fun seeing James talk with Voldemort to buy some time for Lilly and Harry to escape. The other thing was the whole Death-Eater and Bellatrix thing. It was something that just came to me as I was writing this chapter.
