Across the pound, in the Draventon household, it was only 7:30 am in the morning. Anthony, with his red hair down and only dressed in his nightshirt and pj pant, sat down on the chair in his bedroom while examining the slipper that the uninvited guest had left behind. After a few moments, he got up from his seat and went over to the window next to his bed. He moved the curtain aside and looked out onto the garden as he stared at the sun rising above the foggy horizon. He closed the curtain after taking in the view for a moment before staring back at the slipper on the table.
He couldn't get his mind off that beautiful young man, whenever he closed his eyes, the image of his face appeared. Anthony's heart skipped a beat, he blushed when he remembered kissing his knuckles like the gentleman he was.
He still remembers his face, gorgeous tan skin with a neutral undertone, brown eyes that reminded him of delicious chocolate, and black hairs that were the same color as the black American bear. And his smile, oh his sweet yet shy smile; it made Anthony feel all tingly inside, in fact, he could still remember how he felt when they gaze at each other's eyes underneath the moonlight.
Anthony knew right then that he would do anything just to see this young man again but alas there was no way to contact him. He almost felt like the prince trying to find his Cinderella and the slipper was his only clue, he had to track this boy down. But how exactly? How can he find its owner? The young man seemed to have run away before midnight with four other princesses that he had left with them and disappeared into the woods, never to be seen again.
As much as Anthony wanted to go out and search for him, he knew he couldn't since no one knew who he was or where he came from. He wanted to keep the slipper as a souvenir, something to remind him of the happiness that he had felt with this young man. But he knew it needed to be returned back to its owner.
After thinking for a moment, Anthony decided that the best thing he can do at the moment was nothing. He needed some time to think about things, he needed to decide what he should do next. After everything that happened last night, his family already named the unnamed young man as "The Boy in White".
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
Anthony was startled by the sound of a door knocking outside his bedroom. He quickly rushed to the door and opened it. Standing there was a man dressed in butler clothes. "Good morning Master Anthony." He greeted him with breakfast on the silver tray in his hand. "I hope I'm not disturbing you?"
Anthony shook his head. "No James, not at all," Anthony said as he took the plate from the man's hand. On it were sandwiches, fruit, and tea. James heads over to his closet to select his outfit for today. "How are you doing?" Anthony asked as he began eating his sandwich.
"I'm very well sir, thank you for asking," replied James.
As James took out Anthony's clothes from the hanger, he looked at Anthony who stared at the slipper while eating his sandwiches. "Still thinking about that uninvited guest sir?" He asked.
"Yes…" Anthony answered. It was hard for him not to think about the unknown young man.
James opened a drawer and took out a pair of shoes. "Your mother, Duchess Vivian, has been quite upset since the Ball. She couldn't believe those five uninvited guests crashed into the Ball and never would she have thought that out of five guests, there were four princesses and one young man in the white dress."
"I couldn't stop thinking about him." Anthony sighed. "Ever since we talked outside the Ballroom in the garden. I feel like… like… the butterfly in my stomach. His eyes, his smile, the way he looks at me. It felt like I was the first person he saw in a garden. The only problem is, how can I find him?"
Jame thought for a minute, but he signed too. "I wish I knew the answer, Master Anthony." He replied. "But I'm afraid I do not have it. If only there's a way I could help you find him, maybe then your family wouldn't have so many sleepless nights worrying about you."
Anthony chuckled and finished his food. "Thank you James, I appreciate your answer." He walk toward him to stand on the stool.
"My pleasure, Master Anthony." James began helping him get dressed. As he was putting on the shirt, he asked, "If I may ask Master Anthony."
Anthony paused and looked at the man. "What is it?"
"What will you do once you find him?"
Anthony thought for a moment before putting on his pants before tucking his shirt inside. "I don't know, to be honest." He said. "I never thought of this before. I always figured that once I found him, we would eventually become friends."
James holds up Anthony's blazer and Anthony slides his arms through the sleeves. "Well, if you find him, I wish you the best of luck, Master Anthony."
"Thanks James."
He is dressed in this burgundy blazer unbuttoned woven jacket features notched lapels, two-buttons at front, chest pocket, welt front pockets with flap, and two inner pockets, and long sleeves with decorative buttons at the cuffs. Over this jacket is a bright white dress shirt with three unbuttons open on top. He wears burgundy pants featuring a waistband that's held up by a brown leather belt and an side pockets and welt back pockets with buttons. Sat on his left wrist is a watch featuring a brown leather strap with a cream dial and a pair of brown leather cap-toe Oxford shoes.
"I'll leave you now." He said. As he was about to leave Anthony's room.
The redhead young man stops him before asking. "Do you believe in love?"
James paused for a moment before replying, "I beg your pardon?"
"I mean, do you believe in love?" Anthony asked again.
James paused and thought for a moment. "I suppose I do, yes." He answered. "But why do you ask?"
Anthony looked at himself through the mirror. "It's just that, before finding out that he is Lady Golden. I didn't really think I would fall in love with "her". But when I found out that "she" is a he, I felt like he is the one. I don't know what to think anymore."
James smiled. "You have fallen for him, Master Anthony." He replied.
"Is that bad?" Anthony turned his head over his shoulder. "To fall in love with someone of the same gender?"
"No, not at all." He answered. "It's quite normal to be attracted to the same gender. Even though others might not agree with that, it is still perfectly natural. Love comes in many forms."
"But isn't it wrong to love someone of the same gender?" Anthony asked. "I like girls but I feel like I like boys too. Whenever I am around other girls, I often end up flirting with them. I even did the same thing with other fellows."
"That is because what you have is Bi Master Anthony." He replied.
Anthony nodded. "Bi?"
"Yes, Bi." He explained. "A Bi is a preference for both genders. It doesn't matter if you like boys or girls, you will still like both."
Anthony tilted his head to the side. "Is that what I am? Bi?"
"Yes."
"So, I'm bisexual?"
"Yes, you are."
In the dining room, the Draventon family was waiting for Anthony to arrive. The six children were seated at a large table with their breakfast and other meals set before them. Their parents were also present, talking to each other at the dining table.
"I wonder who that young man is." Duke Edward Draventon asked, taking a sip of his coffee. He's a tall, well-built and physical man with fair skin, side swept cut dark brunette hairstyle with a thick beard and freckles, and blue eyes. He wears a beige sweater over a white shirt that he tucked into his dark brown pants, a silver watch sat on his left wrist including his gold wedding ring and a pair of leather brown shoes. "I know it's been a week since the ball, but he's been quite the talk today."
"I don't care who he is but all I care about is that I can't believe those five uninvited guests crashed into the ball and caused chaos." His wife, Duchess Vivian, complained. She is a tall, and beautiful woman whose shoulders and bust are larger than her relatively narrow hips. Her appearance features fair skin, rosy cheeks, dark neutral eyeshadow, red lips, blush, fair skin, deep ginger hair, and jade eyes. She wore this beautifully tailored dark indigo double breasted blazer with large gold detailed buttons and a fitted high waist pencil skirt that went below her knees. On the bottom, a matching midi pencil skirt, black pantyhose on her legs and dark stilettos pointed heels. She completes her attire by wearing this pair of earrings featuring rectangular shaped purple crystals surrounded by dazzling diamonds and a matching ring on her finger.
"It wasn't chaos mother," one of their daughters, Dennise, stated. She is tall and slender with a sculpted figure. Her brunette hair was tied into a lower updo. She's dressed in this sapphire blue midi dress featuring a v-neckline, long full sleeves with wide cuffs, peplum detailing at her waist and soft pleats skirt that's four inches below her knee. She wore a pair of velvet pump heels with a beige bottom.
"It's hardly any disaster." Another daughter, Cora added. She's a petite girl with a rectangular shape, long coppery red hair and brown eyes, and freckles on cheeks. She wore this knitted white sweater featuring a round neckline, long sleeves and ribbed trims. The sweater was tucked into her pair of dark goldenrod high waisted trouser pants with an black leather belt featuring a gold hoop buckle, finally a pair of brown loafers.
"It's only chaos when Anthony chases after that boy in the ivory dress." She looked at her mother. "Did you see the way everyone reacted when he removed his mask?"
"Yes!" Her sister, Beatrice, nodded. slim young lady with long thick brown braided hip-waist length ponytail, emerald green eyes, and she wore this satin white blouse featuring a stand collar alongside eight buttons on the front and three buttoned cuffs creating a voluminous blouson sleeve, and a bow detail at the neck. She has this emerald green vest with a v-neckline, six covered buttons and horizontal slit pockets. An lovely matching skirt in a classic high waisted pencil skirt and an black pump heel with ankle strap. "They, including us, were shocked when that "girl" turned out to be a boy!"
Their brother, Erick, was amused by his sisters' comments. "We were surprised when he revealed his true identity." He said as he laughed. He has rosy cheeks, short red spiky hair, thick red eyebrows, average teen body, and brown eyes. A blue-magenta violet polo shirt in a cotton jersey featuring a collar, small V-shaped opening at front, three buttons pleak, short sleeves and a pair of dark beige pants held up with light brown belt, finally, a pair of shoelaces converse that match his shirt.
"And the other four turned out to be princesses!?" Fredrick exclaimed. He has this dark brown curly hair, slim body, blue eyes and fair skin. He wore this white collared shirt underneath his thin Philippine orange sweater. Belt them with beige high waisted pants, white socks and a pair of slip-on shoes. "Jasmine, Rapunzel, Ariel, and Anna! I couldn't believe the Disney Princesses had been crashing our ball!"
"As do I, I couldn't believe them either." Cora agreed. "But then again, the theme is a masquerade and everyone is wearing their mask and costume. So hardly any of us can ever recognize them."
"Well, at least now we know why Anthony was chasing after him." Dennise replied.
"That reminds me, Do you happen to notice Anthony's sudden behavior?" Erick asked.
"No!" Cora shook her head.
"He seems like he has changed since the Ball," Beatrice added.
"I agree." Duke Draventon concur.
"You mean the way he stares at that slipper?" Erick remarked.
Beatrice nodded. "Yes. It's almost as if he was under some sort of enchanted spell or something."
"Maybe," Duke Draventon chuckled.
"Or maybe he's in love." Cora guesses.
Their mother, Duchess Vivian, scoffed at Cora's guess. "I find it hard to believe Anthony is in love with that boy!"
"What are you saying?" Dennise asked her mother. "Anthony is in love with that boy. He is infatuated with him. I have never seen Anthony in love before!"
Duchess Vivian shook her head. "Not possible. I only wish he hadn't broken up with Catherine, that lovely girl is perfect for him."
"He didn't break up with her, Mother, BOTH of them broke up, they don't feel romantically with each other," Cora explained to the Duchess.
"If you say so, daughter. But that does not change the fact that Anthony shouldn't break up with her."
"Mother, what are you saying!?" Erick exclaimed. "You and Catherine's mother, Lady Wellington, secretly betrothed them when they were toddlers. Of course, they will break up when they don't have feelings for each other as they get older."
Duke Draventon raised his hand to stop this conversation from going any further, "Ahem. Anyway, I'm sure that Anthony has his reasons. And judging by the way he keeps staring at that slipper, I am certain he is still in love with that boy."
"Yes, yes," Duchess Vivian muttered, rolling her eyes and waving her hands dismissively. "Can we end this discussion already? We don't need to talk about this anymore."
Anthony soon enters the sitting room. "Good morning mother," he gave his mother a peck on her cheek. "How was your night?"
"Very good, thank you." She smiled.
"And you father?" Anthony asked.
"Ah, very well too. How are you this morning?" His father asked.
"I'm well!" Anthony smiled. "Thank you for asking."
"I'm glad." His father smiled back.
Anthony sits down at the dining table with Coraline on his left and Dennise on his right, but only for Henrietta to bomb him with many questions she has.
"Are you still thinking of the boy in the white dress? What are you going to do with the slipper? Are you going to keep it? How are you ever going to find him? Do you want to tell us that you are in love with the boy in the white dress?"
"Wow! You're a nosy one aren't you?" Anthony chuckled.
"Of course I am!" Henrietta said proudly. "Do you really think I would ask such a question if I was not interested in finding out the answers?"
"I suppose you are correct." Anthony sighed. "Let's see. The slipper is in my room. So, I shall keep it once I find him and then return it back to him. As for the boy in the white dress, I don't even know where to begin looking for him. So, I doubt I'll ever find him."
"Well, that's a shame," Henrietta said, disappointedly.
"Please don't be discouraged. Perhaps one day, I will find him."
"When that happens, I want to be the first person who knows!" Henrietta smiled.
Anthony chuckled at his little sister. "Alright. Let's hope that day comes soon."
"This is outrageous!" Duchess Vivian exclaimed in her husband's study, crumbling the newspaper into the size of the snowball. "This Draventon ball is supposed to be the ball of the century! Not some raucous affair with four uninvited guests!"
"It's not as bad as all that my dear." Duke Edward Draventon said while staring at the paperwork on his desk. "It was honestly boring, I felt like I was about to fall asleep."
Duchess Vivian rolled her eyes. "Don't be ridiculous Edward, it was not boring!"
"It was!" Her husband argued. "I could hardly stay awake."
Duchess Vivian, ignoring her husband, walked toward the window and gazed outside. She signed and shook her head. "This ball was my chance to show off my finest. Not to mention, I was supposed to be the most beautiful and well dressed woman at the ball!"
"Well, I don't think you were the most beautiful." Duke Edward grumbled.
"Of course not!" She snare him with her gaze. "I was overshadowed by that boy who was wearing the white dress! He doesn't look as beautiful as the other ladies, but yet, he was the center of attention of every young man there."
"He was just having a wonderful time." Duke Edward said. "I'm very positive he didn't mean to gain their attention. But you know how men are, they always go for the best looking women but never expect to be a fool." He chuckled. "I do say, I applaud him for tricking them. Even Anthony thought that he was a young lady when he first met him. Ahahah."
"That's not the point!" Duchess Vivian huffed, she took a breath of air. "Speaking of Anthony, do you see the way he looks at the slipper that he left behind?" She asked.
Her husband shrugged his shoulders, "Pretty sure we all know that."
Duchess Vivian placed her arms on her hips and glared at her husband. "Notice how he kept drifting off in his own thoughts? One of our kids has to bring him back to reality and it's getting on my nerves!"
"Oh calm down dear." Duke Edward try to calm his wife down. "Just relax."
"Why should I relax when Anthony is acting like a fool?" She snapped. "He has no idea what love feels like. He's still hung up on that."
"Well, I don't blame him for being in love with that boy." Duke Edward shrugged. "After all, that boy really captured our son's heart."
Duchess Vivian crossed her arms over her chest and glared at her husband. "Why must you say such things?"
"Because, I'm telling the truth." He said calmly. "We are all concerned by Anthony's romantic behavior but perhaps our son has his own reasons," Duke Draventon explained. "I remember I felt the same way when I first fell in love with you when we were his age. You're the most beautiful young lady I ever laid an eye on."
"But Anthony's feeling is different from your feeling," Duchess Vivian said, shaking her head. "Him, falling in love with that boy!? It's so… so… unnatural!"
"Not at all." Duke Draventon disagreed. "Falling in love is the same thing no matter what gender you are. What matters is how you feel about that person. It's only natural that a young man like Anthony would fall in love with a young man in a white dress. And I cannot blame him for doing so. He deserves to be happy just like everyone else."
She turned her back to her husband and looked out the window again. "But I still don't approve of him being in love with someone other than Miss Catherine. That girl is perfect for him and I can't stand seeing him with someone else. I won't mind if it was some other girl but a boy?" She exclaimed. "Oh please, don't make me laugh!"
Duke Edward walks up to his wife from his desk and rubs her shoulders. "I understand how you feel, but you have to trust in your son. Love isn't everything, you know? You wouldn't want him to settle for someone who is not right for him."
"Even so," She said. "But must I remind you that soon one day, Anthony will become the next 8th Duke Draventon once you pass away and once he becomes a Duke, he must marry a woman and give him a son. The Draventon family line has been passed down to us since the mid-18th Century and it is expected that Anthony will continue the family legacy." Duchess Vivian told him.
Soon, the door busted open revealing to be Cora who stepped into the room. "Father! Mother!" She speaks to them. "It's here!"
"What's here?" Duke Edward asked his daughter.
"The letter!" She said, "We've received a letter from the Prince whose Anthony applied to be the Prince's Protégé!"
Duke Edward stood up and looked at his daughter in shock. "It's here!"
Cora nodded. "Yes! Father, we're waiting for you both in the sitting room!"
The Duke and Duchess looked at each other and dashed out of Edward's Study behind Cora to the sitting room. Upon entering, they saw their other fifth children in the sitting but noticed two children were missing.
"Where's Anthony?" Duchess Vivian asked. "And Henrietta?"
"Henrietta went to fetch Anthony and told him that his mail came," Fredrick answered.
Not the moment too soon, Anthony came in with Henrietta pulling his hands. "Come on, come on, come on!" She giggled.
"It's here!" Beatrice exclaimed, holding the letter out for her parents to read.
"Oh wonderful!" Duke Edward clapped his hands together.
Duchess Vivian gasped in excitement. "Oh, I can't wait!"
"Me too!" Hernietta said, bouncing in her seat.
"Quiet children," Duke Edward commanded. "Open the letters."
"Alright." Beatrice handed her brother the letter.
Anthony took the letter from his sister, opened the envelope and unfold the letter before reading it.
"To Lord Anthony Draventon,
Congratulations! I am pleased to inform you that I, Prince, has accepted your application for entry into the Disney Guard Service as my protege. After much consideration and important discussion meeting with the Councils of the Magical World, we have decided to accept you on probationary status until we can assess the risks involved in having a young man such as yourself at this level of responsibility. We believe it is important that you live in the Magic Kingdom where your training will begin until three days and continue over the course of at least five years until you have mastered all the skills necessary to be the future Captain of the Disney Guard.
We hope you understand that there may be some times when you must leave the Magic Kingdom to complete your training in other parts of the world, but we feel strongly that our duty to protect the Magical realm begins here with you. I'm sure you will make us proud of what you accomplish during this time, as well as what you become in the future. It's been a pleasure writing this to you about this wonderful opportunity, and I look forward to seeing and meeting you in person soon.
Sincerely,
His Royal Highness, Your Mentor, the Prince."
