Ok, moving on. In this Eddie and the others are in for a real shock, when he sees what's now become of Sinestro. It'll be the new Yellow Lantern Corps, aka the Sinestro Corps against the Indigo Tribe. Plus it'll also be Anna and Kristoff's first battles. How will they handle? Let's find out.
After accepting his indigo power ring Kristoff stood tall wearing his uniform. "Wow. This power. It's amazing," Kristoff said to his other 3 Lantern friends.
"You shall also need this," Iroque said holding out another staff, like the ones she and the other Indigo Tribe members wielded. "It substitutes for a power battery."
Kristoff took it in his hands and looked to the other 3. "I don't suppose the other colors wield something like this?"
"Not as far as we know," Eddie replied. "Just the power rings and the batteries."
"Be sure to keep the staff in your possession at all times," Iroque explained to Kristoff. "There will be times when your power ring will need to be recharged. To do so, you need only insert your ring into the top of the staff and speak the oath."
"The oath?" Kristoff said confused.
"Each of these Lantern colors all come with an oath you need to speak in order to recharge your ring, Kristoff," Elsa explained.
"Do it for yourself, Kristoff Bjorgman," Iroque said. "Place your ring in your staff and speak the oath. You already know it."
"I do?" Kristoff said even more confused.
"Try it," Iroque said.
"Okay," he said placing his ring into the hole of his staff, and then he spoke, but in a language none of them understood. "Tor lorek san, bor nakka mur, Natromo faan tornek wot ur. Ter Lantern ker lo Abin-Sur. Taan lek lek nok formorrow sur."
Elsa, Anna and Eddie all looked at him confused.
"What?" Kristoff asked after seeing the expressions on their faces.
"We got none of that. What exactly did you say, Kristoff?" Eddie asked.
"I did what Iroque said and spoke the oath. It went: 'In sorrowful day, in misfortunate night, we help those who need our might. With the Lantern power of Abin-Sur we rid your misery. With compassionate might.'"
"That's what you said?" Anna spoke out.
"You didn't understand it?"
"No. We heard it in some sort of alien language," Eddie replied.
"While your rings may translate other languages, our language can only be translated by a being wearing an indigo power ring," Iroque explained.
"Oh. That explains it," Eddie said in realization.
"So if you weren't wearing that purple ring..." Anna began to ask.
"Then none of you would understand me or my people," Iroque finished for her.
But before any of them could say anything else, a yellow blast hit Eddie square in his chest, sending him flying back.
"Eddie!" Elsa exclaimed before she was hit with a yellow blast too.
Elsa and Eddie looked up in shock at who they saw.
"No," Eddie said shocked beyond all reason.
"It's good to see you again old friend," Sinestro said hovering above them in his new yellow uniform.
"Sinestro? But how?" Eddie said in disbelief.
"I told you that you hadn't seen the last of me, that soon you would all fear me. And now you shall," the purple skinned alien said lighting up his new ring.
"Wait. Is that?" Eddie began.
"Yes. A power ring; One that harnesses the yellow energy of fear. Did you think it was a joke when I said I was constructing a weapon of fear?"
"I'd actually hoped it would be, yes," Eddie responded helping Elsa to her feet.
"If you thought I was just going to let you get away with getting me banished from the Green Lantern Corps and trying to foil my plans to spread fear, think again."
"You disgrace your former master, Thaal Sinestro. Abin-Sur would never have approved of this." Iroque spoke out.
"Everything that happened with me as a Green Lantern no longer matters," Sinestro said lighting up his yellow ring once more. "All that matters to me now, is the Sinestro Corps!"
"Sinestro Corps?" Eddie said in confusion.
"Look up there," Elsa said pointing to the sky.
They'd all looked to see more alien beings, wearing the same yellow uniforms and wearing yellow rings of fear.
"He's been busy," Eddie said and then looked towards his former alien friend. "But I can't just let this slide. It's time we settle the score, Thaal!" He yelled flying towards Sinestro.
Before Eddie reached him, Sinestro constructed a yellow fist and punched him back with it, then shot a lasso from his yellow ring, pulling Eddie back towards him.
He brought Eddie face to face with him. "You may have beat me before, Eddie. But then I was only a Green Lantern. But now that I control the power of fear, you have no chance. And that's because I've learned that fear is more powerful than willpower."
"Well, we'll just see about that!" Eddie exclaimed blasting Sinestro back with his ring.
Sinestro recovered and glared at Eddie. "You can't stop me and my army, you deluded fool."
"But we can," Iroque said as she and the rest of the Indigo Tribe flew up and engaged in battle with the Sinestro Corps.
Eddie looked to Elsa, Anna and Kristoff. "Help them with the rest of his army. Thaal and I have a score to settle."
Elsa nodded. "Anna, Kristoff, stay close to me. This could get a little tricky."
The trio flew up to join the battle while Eddie and Sinestro both fired blasts from their rings at one another, which both collided with each others.
"Hope may have overpowered willpower, but it won't do the same with fear. You will know the meaning of fear."
They stopped firing their blasts and flew at each other and fought once more, throwing punches, kicks and energy blasts from their rings.
In the skies, the Indigo Tribe, along with Elsa, Anna and Kristoff were all fighting against Sinestro's army: the Sinestro Corps.
Elsa had been facing off against a woman who looked human, except for her pitch black eyes and her disfigured mouth.
Anna fought an alien with purple skin, and he had three faces, one moving down to the other.
Kristoff fought against a smaller alien with lavender skin, and had three faces on one big head; Each face had one big eye each.
"These are some strange looking beings," Kristoff said while fending his opponent off with his staff. "I've never seen anything with three faces in one."
"You think you're facing against something weird?" Anna said from behind while putting up a shield. "I'm facing against this weird thing with three heads in one."
Elsa dodged a blast from her opponent and then she successfully delivered a blast of willpower from her ring, sending him flying away. Then she looked to see Anna grasp the alien she was fighting by its torso, punch it in the middle face, then blast it away with her ring. After doing so, she shot a lasso at it, reeling him back in, then swinging it over and hit another member of the Sinestro Corps.
"Wow," Elsa said in surprise. "You've only been a Star Sapphire for a few hours, yet you're getting the hang of that ring, Anna."
"I am, aren't I?" she replied. "This is actually pretty fun. All this fighting aliens and stuff."
"We're not done yet," Elsa said looking to both their opponents coming back.
"Looks like they still want more," Anna said readying herself and flew towards her opponent once more to clash with him.
Kristoff still fighting his shorter, three faced opponent, and was struggling to keep his guard up. And then he looked towards Iroque and saw her absorb a yellow energy blast into her staff, and then redirect it at the alien she was fighting.
"How'd she do that?" Kristoff asked himself, only to be blasted back as he was distracted.
He recovered in moments and then returned fire, shooting a blast from his ring, and at the same time the three faced alien shot another blast from his ring colliding with Kristoff's.
"I really need more training," Kristoff said struggling to fight back.
Back with Eddie and Sinestro, they were fighting with sword constructs.
They clashed together both struggling to keep the other back.
"You've got a lot of nerve coming here, trying to harm innocent beings, Thaal," Eddie said to him.
"I came here looking for beings to grow my Corps. Once many of these people had the ability to instill great fear in the hearts of others. It occurred to me, what would happen if those rings they wear are removed and in their place, they begin to wear the rings of fear. I get the feeling it would revert these former criminals to their old ways, and it would grow my army."
"Iroque will never allow that to happen, Sinestro. I think instead you should be given one of the rings of compassion to make amends for all your wrong doings."
"Never!" Sinestro yelled and then kicked Eddie back, making him crash to the ground and into a stream of water.
He looked up to the battle between the Sinestro Corps and the Indigo Tribe. The members of the Indigo Tribe attempted to put rings on the hands of Sinestro Corps members, but ended up failing, for the yellow wielders of fear were in greater numbers.
"Face it, Eddie. You can't beat me," Sinestro said looming over him. "You'd be better off joining me. Don't fight your fear. Give into its power. Allow it to truly set you free, just as it did for me."
"No. It didn't set you free, Thaal. It corrupted you. Its power changed who you were. You've gotta fight it, Thaal. Think before you entered that chamber of fear, you were a noble man of justice. You were never swayed by right and wrong. You knew what was what. But the moment you absorbed the yellow light, it corrupted your mind. It made you forget who you were, and made you power hungry."
"Believe what you wish, but I already know the truth. I was never manipulated, my will was too strong for it to do so. I simply learned the real truth that fear itself can be controlled."
"When you tried to expose me to the yellow light, I almost started thinking the same thing, but then the light of hope within me shined even brighter and broke fear's hold over me. Now I think it's time I do the same thing to you, Thaal," Eddie said standing up and an electric blue aura surrounded his body once more.
He flew up towards Sinestro, while Thaal fired another blast from his ring, but Eddie managed to dodge it, then he pressed his hand to Sinestro's face and delved into his mind.
Eddie had looked inside Sinestro's head to see nothing but a black void of emptiness, and nothing else in sight.
"What? What's going on?" Eddie said to himself. "It's nothing but emptiness."
And then from out of the black, yellow light shined from in front of Eddie, which blasted him and kicked him out of Sinestro's head. And once he was back in reality, Sinestro blasted him again, knocking him back into the water.
"It doesn't make sense," Eddie said. "His mind isn't being manipulated by anything."
"I told you. Fear isn't the one controlling me, I'm controlling it!" Sinestro exclaimed. "The Sinestro you met is gone. He was the one destroyed by fear's yellow light. Sinestro Corps! Fall back!" He called out to his troops, who all retreated into space. "This is far from over, Eddie." He said looking down his former Blue Lantern friend.
"You're the one running away like a coward, Thaal."
"I'm not running from anything. I only came here for one reason, and that's to find more troops for my army. But it seems these beings of compassion will have to wait for another time. In the meantime, I'll be looking elsewhere. We shall meet again, this I promise you."
And then he flew back into space with the rest of the Sinestro Corps.
Elsa, Anna and Kristoff flew down towards Eddie, while Iroque and some of the other Indigo Tribe members tended to the wounded.
"Are you okay?" Elsa asked Eddie as she helped him out of the water.
"I'm fine, but what I don't believe is what I just found it. What Sinestro said to me is true. He's not being controlled by anything. Sinestro has full control over his new powers, he's willingly hurting innocent beings."
"But how do you know this?" Anna asked.
"I looked into his mind. There was nothing corrupting it. His will made it so that he's the one controlling the power of fear. I...I don't know what to do."
"If you wish to help him, then he must be given a ring of compassion," Iroque said flying down to them.
"I'm starting to think your powers can't help us, Iroque," Eddie said. "I mean I don't mean to offend all you stand for, but if Sinestro's will was strong enough to be able to control one of the most dangerous powers in the universe, then I don't really know what compassion can do to stop him. I have a feeling his will might be more than strong enough to resist it."
"Many have believed that same thing," Iroque explained. "Many criminals thought they're hearts could not be changed by the light of compassion. But each one of them were wrong. These former criminals have done nothing but make amends for what they had done after wearing the indigo rings."
"I just hope you're right, Iroque," Eddie said. "If you'll excuse me, I have to inform the Guardians of Oa." He put his ring up to his face. "This is General Eddie J Michaels calling the Guardians, please respond."
The two Guardians, Appa and Sayd appeared on his ring.
"General, what is the purpose of this call?" Appa asked the human Blue Lantern.
"I'm afraid I have bad news, Guardians. When Sinestro was exiled from Oa, and he threatened us all, saying he would return, he wasn't messing around."
"What do you mean?" Appa asked again.
"The weapon of fear he mentioned, that weapon was a yellow power ring. Somehow Sinestro created a ring that harnesses the yellow energy of fear. And to make matters worse, he put together an entire army."
"Are you sure of this?" Appa said once more.
"Positive. I found the planet the Indigo Tribe live on, and then he and his army attacked us all. He calls these new Yellow Lanterns, the Sinestro Corps."
"Very well then. We the Guardians shall do what we feel is most logical, and find a way to end this new threat."
"With all due respect, Appa, I suggest you move quickly. Because I fear that his army is only gonna grow bigger with each passing day."
He deactivated the communication and then turned to his 4 friends. "Well I don't know what more we can do here. Kristoff," Eddie turned to the mountain man. "I saw you almost got killed out there. I think you need some more training before your next battle. Because mine and Elsa's fight is soon to become your and Anna's as well. So what I suggest is that you get as much training in as possible."
"I suppose you're right. But who am I supposed to train with? I mean there's only so much you can teach me," Kristoff said.
"I think Elsa and I can arrange for you and Anna to get some training in on Oa," Eddie looked towards the snow queen who nodded in response. "But first, let's all return home and rest up. We'll need to be prepared for anything."
"Anytime you'd like to return, you all are always welcome here," Iroque said as the humans took their leave.
"Thank you for helping us out here," Eddie responded as they each flew out into space.
All right I don't know about any of you all, but I liked this one. Now on the next chapter, I'm kind of gonna take things on a different route for a little bit, but I'll get back to the issues with the Sinestro Corps soon enough. I won't tell you what happens, but it'll involve Eddie's friend Tyler. Until next time. Please read, review and enjoy.
