Aiden let out a long groan as his entire body throbbed in pain. The slightest muscle movement felt like a million needles stabbing him at the same time.
("Aiden? Aiden!? Are you still breathing?")
Aiden heard the desperate voice of Sparda calling out to him. The young devil hunter responded by slowly rising up; the movement of his body worsening the pain.
("Miraculously I am. Though that black hole made my entire body sore.") Another pain filled groan came out after giving his answer.
He heard the old demon sighing in relief, happy to know that the boy didn't perish.
("Just wait for a moment, the amulet's healing factor will take care of the pain soon enough.")
The young man was relieved to hear that, though he was confused as to what Sparda meant in that last part.
("What do you mean by 'soon enough' Sparda?")
("It seems that the black hole made my demonic powers temporarily be disabled, meaning the healing factor won't work right now.")
Aiden exhaled in a sense of frustration. If that was the case then he might as well lay down until the healing factor would regain its function.
("Is Eva still there?")
("Don't worry sweetie, I'm always here for you.) Sparda's wife made her presence known to the youth. Aiden smiled softly as he was glad his foster two parents were with him.
He shifted his eyesight in all directions to make sense of his current surroundings. His face turning into a scowl once he saw the various tops of trees surrounding him.
"Great, laying down in the number one place that I don't want to ever be in..." The young man sighed as he looked up to the blue sky.
("Is this place quickly awakening a certain bad memory, Aiden?") Eva asked in concern for her son
("It is...I don't like sounding pushy, but is the healing factor fully functioning, Sparda?")
The demon knight sighed lightly. ("Little by little Aiden.")
The young man returned a irritated sigh.
("Perhaps I can keep your mind at ease while you're slowly healing. Would you like me to sing you a lullaby? I know those always put you at ease whenever you were at your lowest.")
Aiden softly smiled to Eva's proposal, remembering the sweet relaxing memories of those angelic sounding lulla8. She always made them sound beautiful thanks to her gentle, maternal voice
("Yeah, I would be more than happy to one.")
...
Little Aiden's eyes opened abruptly, panting rapidly with a few beads of sweat slithering down his forehead.
Reality soon kicked in as the look of fear on his face was replaced by relief.
"It was all a nightmare... that's good to know." The young boy said to himself, swallowing the multiple lumps of fear induced saliva as he took in more breaths of relief.
Slowly, he rose his body into a sitting position, the young boy taking a look around his room.
Only to be met with the realization that he wasn't in HIS room. All of his toys, posters, and small bits of trash that littered HIS room were gone.
The room he was currently resting in looked like it belonged to a rich person.
"W-What the-this isn't my room!"
The 8-year old hastily got off the bed and began turning around in a panicked manner.
"W-Where am I!?" Little Aiden shouted, the confusion and fear expressed in his voice.
Did he get kidnapped by some evil rich family? Was he trapped in another nightmare? In what country was he in right now?
The more questions that ran through his head, the more his fear was overtaking his body.
"Aiden...?" A familiar, rich smooth male voice, filled with kindness and maturity called out to the 8-year old boy.
Aiden's panicking state was put to an abrupt halt once he heard that voice; the voice that instantly brought him comfort and warmth during his most stressful moments.
But confusion was instant to creep into his mind. He was hearing that voice from his ears and not in his head.
At first he questioned as to how such a thing was possible, but perhaps it meant one thing...
He quickly turned to face the stranger with the familiar voice and was met with a man that would take anyone's breath away.
Who the young boy saw standing at the door of the room was a tall, pale skinned man. And he meant TALL, with all capital letters. He easily stood beyond six feet with his broad frame granting him an imposing figure that only a statue would possess.
His hair was as white as the snow of winter, not a single strand sticking out as they were all combed back neatly.
His striking blue eyes were both warming, blue pools and ice cold lakes.
His choice of clothing perfectly matched the fancy air the man carried as he sported a monocle on his right eye, a royal purple vest with the pants to match it, and a white scarf puffing out of his vest.
Even though this was the first time the 8-year old boy saw this man, it didn't take him long to identity his name:
"S-Sparda?"
The man smiled softly in turn.
"I'm glad you could recognize me, Aiden. Despite the lack of physical description."
The 8-year old was confused. The man who was standing in front of him was Sparda; no longer the voice that was inside the amulet as he stood as a living person who could walk and talk freely.
But... how?
"Sparda... w-what is going on?" The boy mustered out a single question, refraining himself from bombarding the man with a wave of questions.
The soft expression of the matured man slightly weakened. He knew that a long day was ahead. And breaking the tragic news to the young boy was the first one.
But for now, he would summarize the truth for the fate Aiden found himself standing in. "The house you're standing on at this moment... is inside of the amulet."
...
("Aiden...")
The young man slowly opened his eyes as he heard Sparda's soft tone calling him, snapping him from the dream of the past.
Aiden slowly stood up, all the pain from his body gone.
("Thank you for the lullaby, Eva. I really needed that.") Aiden thanked his foster mother with a small smile.
("I just did what any mother would do to put their son's mind at ease.")
The young man's smile widened in return.
Aiden looked upwards to see the sky was now a orange-ish color with a slight tint of red. Signifying that it was close to getting dark.
Aiden took a look around his surroundings, letting out a laugh of relief once he saw the Black Ghost laying snugly on the ground.
He picked up his sword, sheathed it back into its place, and tied the two ropes around his waist.
He climbed near the tallest tree to hopefully find any nearby towns or cities. Obviously, he wasn't in Russia as the weather felt way more warmer.
Once he made it to the very top of the tree, his eyes were welcomed to the beautiful sight of the sunset shaded forest.
Though the beautiful sight mattered little to the devil hunter as he stuck two of his fingers upwards into the sky, the forest's breeze soon brushing against his fingers.
"Hmmm." He concentrated to the flow and direction of the wind, moving his fingers to where the wind was directing to the nearest town or city. Once his arm stopped its movement, he opened his eyes to see them pointing East.
("Thank you for the guidance, Fujin.")
Jumping down from the tree, the devil hunter started walking East in a quick pace. Hopefully civilization wasn't too far away.
Walking through the forest did not feel relaxing for Aiden. And the sentiment was shared with Sparda. His demonic senses were telling him that their current location had an unfamiliar yet familiar feel at the same time.
It made him a bit nervous as to what Aiden may come across... or potentially run into.
...
After an entire day of walking East, the young man finally arrived to a city.
It was nighttime now. The Europran designed street lamps illuminated the gray brick roads and sidewalks to a significant extent; it was enough for Aiden to walk through.
He looked towards the city architecture, immediately noting that the buildings were of European origin. Though the architecture looked a bit royal. Perhaps the building's were built out of materials that shone brightly during the day.
That probably meant that he was in a dense city of Spain or France. But he had to look for a local map to get proper affirmation.
Though his objective would get interrupted as a eerie feeling slowly crept into the young man's gut, casuing his feet to stay still.
"W-what is this feeling that is plauging me?"
A couple of more minutes of walking, the young man soon started questioning why this city felt so familiar yet so unfamiliar at the same time. Was he slowly going crazy or are the side effects of the void causing this...?
("So you weren't the only one who felt that way...")
Aiden stopped his walk as he heard Sparda's voice ("What do you mean by that exactly?")
("When we landed ourselves in the forest I had that same feeling. At first I thought the side effects of the void were causing that... but that may not be the case.")
("That isn't a good thing, right?")
("It depends if that feeling is the sign of impending trouble. I would urge you to resume your exploration of the city, but try to not draw too much attention to yourself.")
("I won't.") The young man resumed his walk through the town.
...
Aiden sat himself down on a bench, feeling like it was a good time to rest himself and to properly digest everything that has happened to him.
("Are you doing alright sweetie?") Eva asked to her adopted son who leaned back on the bench.
("Mostly. Still trying to get over the fact that I managed to get through a damned forest.") Aiden chuckled lightly as all of the overwhelming anger he felt inside was gone.
Eva sighed solemnly, instantly making the young man listen to whatever was on her mind. ("Aiden... has that memory been troubling you more often than usual again?)
The young man exhaled as he put his hands on his face. The wind blown through his nose seeping to whatever openings were available.
("...Unfortunately, yes.") He answered after a moment of silence.
("For how long?")
("For the past few weeks.")
Eva let out a small gasp. ("Then why didn't you tell us anything, Aiden? You know me and my husband could've helped you.")
("...I guess I felt like I could've found my own way to cope with it. It seems that I'm not ready to solve this on my own.") The raven haired youth solemnly replied to his now concerned foster mother.
Eva exhaled her breath of worry, bringing Aiden's attention to what she was going to say next. ("Aiden, I am aware that you're trying to become an independent man, but you're still young. You're not ready to solve those kinds of problems on your lonesome just yet.")
The young man contemplated his foster mother's reasoning.
Ever since Sparda and Eva had raised him like he was their son, he has developed an aspect of confidence whenever he went out to confront the ugly side of the world.
Yet, when it came to facing his former life, all of that confidence would be erased within an instant. Because at the end of the day, he was and would still be a child that needed to be healed.
After another moment of dead silence, the young man gave his answer. "...I know."
His answer was brief, but it told his foster parents everything they needed to know.
("Me and my husband will always be there for you, sweetie. That is the promise we created the second you came into our lives. So please... don't hesitate to ask for our help, alright?")
Aiden's reddish-brown eyes started to water to the shameful sensation that coursed through his body. A few tears had already streamed down his cheeks and sunk down into the dark fabric of his pants.
("I wouldn't have it any other way.") He replied as he released a sniff, running a finger through his eye lids to remove the tears.
It took him a moment or two to control his emotions and to bring back his concerns to the situation. He turned his head to the trash bin that was right next to the bench. A rolled up newspaper sticking out from the pile of trash.
Deciding that it might be helpful to read the paper, since there was a chance that it might tell the current location, he slid towards the bin and grabbed the paper once he got close.
Aiden shook the paper before unrolling he unrolled it, the title at the top printed "Illyria Times."
("Illyria, as in the tribes that inhabited Croatia?") He questioned.
That didn't make any sense as this place looked like an established city rather than the settlement of a tribe. The young man looked down to read the newspaper to get a clear under-
"HOLD ON, 2188!?"
His eyes widened, his mouth hung open, and his hands trembling as if they had to endure the coldest temperature. The exact cause of him going into shock? His eyes settling in that the newspaper was published in the year 2188!
("Sparda, did we actually...")
("Yes, it would appear that the void pulled us far ahead in time. And before you ask Aiden, a thing like this can be achieved.")
Aiden's current state of shock made the newspaper slip from his hands. "But... can I still go back?"
("You can... but it's a life threatening risk you're taking.") The old demon answered with a serious warning
The young man let out a shaky breath as this was something he was not expecting to happen to him today, or a day in his life.
("Then I'll have to wander the city until I find a resting place. I will find more information once morning arrives.") The young man declared as his body moved past the shock and was now demanding to get some much needed rest.
("Tread carefully sweetie.")
("Be well, son.")
After hearing the prayers of his foster parents, the young man stood up from the bench and began his search for a resting place.
...
Unbeknownst to the young devil hunter, his appearance has already been notified to the officials of the city.
"Have Zato and Millia found any clues relating to the sudden rift opening?" A blonde man with a sharp, handsome face and blue eyes asked to his friend. He wore a purple coat with white collar cape adorned over it as there was a black vest worn underneath.
The friend he was currently speaking to was a tall blonde that also had blue eyes and sported a muscular physique, paired with a more sharper angled face. He sported a haircut reminiscent of a lion's mane that blended in with his well trimmed beard. His attire composed of a fur collared brown coat, a black vest, white pants, and brown wingtip shoes.
The more taller man sighed in response to his friend. "Sadly no, Daryl. It has nearly been half a day and they are yet to find a lead. I'm slowly starting to believe we just set ourselves on a wild goose chase!"
The man, named Daryl, nodded in response. "It is slowly starting to feel that way, but we can't start losing faith now, Leo. We need to know whatever it is that appeared, find it, and deal with it efficiently."
The man named Leo nodded as the two kings of Illyria headed to the war room. They had to report the fruitless search and to discuss the issue further with the 1st King of Illyria: Ky Kiske.
The 2nd and 3rd king made their presence known once they entered the war room. Ky, who was also a blonde man with blue eyes but inherited a more boyish face, stood in front of the holographic map of the kingdom.
The 1st King's attire consisted of a black, button-up shirt that was worn under a white jacket hanging off his shoulders, slim fitted black pants, black boots with blue soles, and a black silk sleeve covering his right arm.
Dr.Paradigm, a live dragon bird hybrid who wore a scholars attire with short glasses resting on the bridge of his snout, stood near the main table, closely inspecting the holographic map of the kingdom.
"Did Millia and Zato managed to find anything?" Ky asked as he turned to his fellow kings, Leo responding with a head shake.
"Not a thing so far."
Ky sighed to the answer. "Guess we'll have to wait for those two to keep searching"
"Daryl, have you checked if any of our men have found something related to the appearance?" Ky asked, a little bit more desperation slipping out of his mouth. Bad luck seemed to be raining down on his hope as the 3rd king also responded with a head shake.
"They haven't found a thing as well."
The 1st king sighed in frustration. This was getting more and more worrying by the second.
The three kings turned towards the calm looking Dr.Paradigm. Who seemed unfazed by the bad news.
"Is rather surprising that you're calm about this Dr.Paradigm." Ky said in a curious tone.
The dragon bird hybrid adjusted his short glasses as he turned to the three kings. "Don't be fooled gentlemen. I am as nervous as the three of you. I'm simply trying to keep myself in a calm mindset."
"As much as I, along with everyone else here agrees with you, recent events had caused us to be on edge. No thanks to the G4 summit." Ky reminded the animal hybrid in a glum tone.
The 1st king crossed his arms, turning his attention to the holographic map of the kingdom. "This world has endured enough pain, bloodshed, loss, and destruction. It is our duty, including every single government around the globe, to make sure that doesn't happen again."
"You do have a point there Lord Ky... let's just hope that whatever it is that appeared is a friend rather than a foe." Dr.Paradigm responded with a side glance as he turned to the map.
("Or at least a technological malfunction") Daryl thought.
Leo's magicom rung, the sound bringing all of the attention to him.
"Let's pray those two found something." Leo hoped in a low volume as the room quickly turned silent.
"Mrs.Rage, have you and Zato finally found a lead...mhm...really? Well that's great to hear-huh? What do you mean I shouldn't I get my hopes up!?"
The other kings and the professor were on edge to how the call was going.
"Wait, you're serious!?...alright I'll inform the others immediately. Thank you, Mrs.Rage"
He let out a long sigh as he ended the call, turning to his allies with a frown.
"So...what happened?" Ky asked first
Leo put both of his hands on his hips, straightening his chest. "Well the good news is that Millia found a set of footprints, human to be exact, in Illyria's forest."
The others were slightly relieved to hear that the Ex-assassins finally found a lead. But they were worried as to what Millia told him near the end of the call.
"But is there any bad news?" Daryl asked.
"Sadly yes, apparently the footprints also headed East straight towards here."
"Meaning there's a possible chance that the person is already here, wondering around the kingdom." Daryl guessed in worry.
"If that's the case then we need to act immediately."
Ky turned to the 2nd king. "Leo, you and me will join with the other knights for an extra set of eyes and to prepare for the arrival of the person."
He then turned to the intelligent animal hybrid. "Dr.Paradigm, you'll have to join us since there's a chance we'll need your wide arrange of spells."
The doctor nodded. "I'll be more than willing to join you gentlemen."
"Daryl you'll keep surveillance here and inform us of anything strange that may happen." The calculating king gave a curt nod.
Once the plan was settled, the two kings and doctor headed out of the room to join with the patrols, with Daryl walking towards the surveillance screens for his part.
"Let's hope that this isn't going to be the start of another bloody battle."
...
It's been about 10 minutes since Aiden has been wandering inside the city to find a resting place.
Which did not go well as he felt like he was stuck in a maze: the vast amount of streets, buildings, bridges, and alleyways made it hard for him to navigate to the foreign city he has found himself in.
It would have been easier if he climbed the highest building to get a better view of the city, but that would be way too risky as he would bring a lot of unwanted attention to himself.
So for now, the devil hunter had to stick close to any alleyways and keep his distance from streetlamps. Though his patience was running thin as the thought of sleeping near a trashcan was popping frequently into his mind.
("This is getting me nowhere, I need to find a place fast.")
("I wish I could be of use, son. But this place is very unknown to me and the most obvious risk is at hand.")
("I know, I just wish that this place would be kind enough to throw me a place to rest, an old abandoned shed would be enough for me.")
The young devil hunter slightly slumped his head, deciding to keep on wandering through the quiet streets.
But that would soon change as danger would start erupting.
...
"Your majesty! Our sensors are detecting multiple rifts being opened all throughout the East side of the kingdom!"
Daryl turned to the holographic map of the kingdom and saw the worrying sight of multiple red dots scattering throughout the eastern part of Illyria.
"Notify the other kings and our patrols about this immediately!" The third king ordered the surveillance man as a threat was potentially arising.
Daryl turned to the map again, a feeling of dread quickly building up inside him.
"Just what in Justice's name is going on here!?"
...
Aiden stopped his walk through the alleyway once the red gem of his amulet started glowing.
He looked down on the glowing gem in confusion before immediately realizing the reason behind it: there were demons close by.
("Sparda in which direction are they in!?")
("To the West!")
The young devil hunter dashed towards the direction in supersonic speed before summoning a purple platform, composed of various runes, beneath his feet and jumping off it to reach the rooftop of a building.
He knew it was best if he jumped from rooftop to rooftop to reach the demons quickly. And with the amulet granting his body superhuman speed, it didn't take too long for Aiden to reach a group of hell caina's wandering down a street.
The hell caina's were low-rank demons that looked like the grim reaper. Due to their skeletal face, tattered cloaks they were wearing, and the large scythe's they wielded to cut open whoever was present.
Too bad they were going to be the ones next to be cut open.
[Metal: Hellsinger ost-Stygia]
Aiden jumped off the rooftop, unsheathed the Black Ghost and swung it down to the nearest caina. The demon didn't let out a death cry as it got sliced in half, its two halves separating completely.
The rest of his kind didn't even have time to react as the young devil hunter proceeded to make short work of them.
Utilizing superhuman speed, he dashed to the nearest caina, hacking off it's upper body with a vertical slice.
He dashed to another one, spinning his entire body once before thrusting the sword beneath his right armpit, the blade puncturing the demon's stomach.
The low-rank demon let out a cry of pain, bringing the attention of the others to the young devil hunter. Aiden pulled out his sword from the caina's stomach and swung it to the demon's head, severing its head off.
The last remaining cainas ran towards the young devil hunter, scythe's raised as they let out a demonic roar.
Aiden flicked his katana to the side, his blade extending into a long line of connected blades. He reeled back his right arm and swung towards the demons.
The bladed whip easily tore through their torsos, thought it didn't stop there as Aiden reeled back his whip which caused it to go back and completely hack off the upper bodies of the cainas.
The young devil hunter placed his thumb on the katana's tsuba, sliding the finger across the edge until it emitted a click.
What followed were the blades retracting back into a complete katana blade within a second.
He looked down to see that his amulet still had it's red gem glowing as brightly as before. His eyebrows furrowed as that meant there were more demons nearby.
("Sparda in which direction are the others in!?")
("To your North!")
Aiden jumped on top of a roof and used the same strategy from before to quickly reach the other group of demons.
Once he reached the next group, he saw the low-rank vermin attacking... a small group of knights!?
Aiden's battle hardened state was partially clouded by the bizarre sight of literal knights fending off the hell caina's.
Either they recently made their exit from a costume party, or the future has somehow revived the profession of a knight...
He hastily shook his head as he let out a small, frustrated filled grunt. Now was not the time to figure the logical possibility of why there were knights in the future.
He jumped towards the nearest caina, the fall giving his sword the strength to easily stab through it's head before pulling it out. On instinct, he weaved smoothly under a scythe swing and countered by thrusting his blade to the demon's head. He yanked off the blade and turned to successfully deflect an incoming scythe, countering with a slash to the chest.
The caina's were momentarily distracted by the sudden presence of the young devil hunter. Some of the knights were also distracted by the young man's intervention, but decided to question him once they eliminated the rest of these monsters.
The knights continued their fight against the demons as Aiden helped them by disabling the enemy via hacking off their limbs, giving the knights a chance to land the killing blow.
"Take this!!!" The young devil hunter let out a war cry as he severed the head of the last caina, twirling his sword once before sliding it inside the scabbard.
("I sense more of them on your East!") Sparda was quick to notify his foster son of the next route.
"Uh, sir!" One of the knights called out to Aiden but was ignored as the young man double jumped to a roof, quickly disappearing from their view.
After another session of rooftop jumping, Aiden made it to the other group of demons.
Though this group would be much more problematic to slay as a hell judecca was present. The demon was far more taller than the caina's and had tendrils for arms that connected to large curved blades.
The more powerful caina led a large group of hell cainas that were attacking another group of knights, whom were quickly getting overwhelmed by the large number of cainas swinging their scythes left and right.
The hell judecca was not making it any easier on them as the taller demon shot out it's scythe's at them. Through sheer luck or instinct, they survived a few close calls of losing their lives.
("If they keep on their assault, then none of the knights will make it out alive.")
Aiden jumped in and swung Black Ghost to a lone hell caina. The demon's cry bringing the attention of the other demons.
The knights didn't waste any time and took the opportunity to kill the distracted demons, turning the tables against them.
The nearby hell judecca let out a ear piercing shriek towards Aiden, swiping its armed scythe to the young devil hunter. The young man weaved under the attack and sliced off its arm with a one hand katana swing.
Aiden gripped his sword with both of his hands and ran at the judecca at superhuman speed, delivering an upwards slice to it's body.
The tall demon roared in pain before it disappeared in a puff of smoke.
On instinct, Aiden backfilpped high into the air as the judecca shot it's scythe while his back was turned.
Quickly turning his body around while midair, he activated and swung his whip to the demon. The blades slashing across the demon's thin upper body.
Unfortunately, it wasn't deep enough to end its life.
After landing on the ground, Aiden retracted his whip and began running at the judecca.
The tall demon swing both of its arms to the young man, who slid under its blades before cutting through its legs using the momentum of the slide.
He then jumped towards the downed judecca, rising his blade over his head and bringing it towards the demon's head.
A loud demonic scream was the last sound the tall demon emitted as Aiden's sword sliced through it's head. He kicked away the body, casuing the sword to easily pull out of the dissipating corpse.
("Are there anymore left Sparda?")
("Yes, on your East!")
He double jumped to a roof and began running towards his East, ignoring the knights that were hollering out for him to stop his movement.
After reaching the last rooftop East, his expression turned confused as there weren't any demons on sight.
Nonetheless, he jumped down on the street.
("Are you sure they're here, Sparda?") Aiden asked as he stood in the middle of the street.
("Yes, I'm sure. I can feel a strong demonic presence right here.")
("Then they must be hiding, waiting to strike once I let my guard down.")
The young man darted his enhanced eyesight in every direction of the place, waiting for the slightest demonic movement to appear.
("Son, I sense a demonic presence behind you!") The old demon suddenly warned Aiden who quickly unsheathed his katana, ready to cut whatever was behind him.
But he instead saw a white light in the shape of sphere floating towards him.
"What... is this?" Aiden questioned as he slightly lowered his weapon, the light coming closer and closer to him.
("It...wants you to reach for it.") Sparda figured as the light was now a few feet away from Aiden.
He was confused at Sparda's words, but nonetheless he did what he said and rose his right hand towards the light.
The floating light registered the inviting hand and responded by approaching the open hand, growing in size before quickly disappearing.
What Aiden held in his hand was a triple rod nunchaku connected by a metal ring with snowflakes pouring off the three rods, indicating that it had the power of using ice.
"What in the world?"
That's when multiple dark red pools appeared, surrounding him in a circle, the passersby being more hell caina's.
"So you vermin bow decided to show yourselves." He looked at all of them with a poker face before glancing down at the nunchaku.
"Hmph, it's quite unfortunate that all of you made your appearance, because right now..."
He put the rods between his body and left armpit, his left hand gripping one of the ice cold rods. His right arm was extended and his right leg placed one step forward with his left leg slightly placed backwards.
"...It's time for all of you to be crushed like a bunch of worthless pests!"
One of them let out their demonic roar as it charged at Aiden, scythe raised high into air before the demon brought the blade down to end the human's life.
But the young man successfully parried the demon's attack with a sideways nunchaku flick, hitting it's head with an upward swing before jumping up to it's level and bringing it's head down to the ground with a full, downwards swing.
The young man crushed the demon's head with an axe kick before swiftly deflecting the attack of another caina. He flicked the nunchaku upwards to another charging caina and a sideways flick to another one as they were all ganging up on him.
The young man striked the demons in all directions, parrying their scythe swings and flicking and swinging the three rods to their heads.
This pattern went on until all of the surrounding demons were slain, chunks of their heads missing from the speed and ferocity of the nunchaku rods.
The raven haired youth didn't have the chance to admire his newly found weapon as more hell caina's appeared from the dark red pools.
He muttered a curse, gripping one of the rods tightly as Sparda's power began flowing through the weapon.
A faint purple light quickly started to form around the nunchaku as the ancient demon's power made the three rods extra heavy.
The young devil hunter lightly grunted as his arms sagged to the nunchaku's extra weight.
But it would only be a slight inconvenience as the amulet's power gave his arms extra strength.
Once everything was set, he flashed the demons an evil smirk as he was now going to brutalize them back to Hell.
He broke the entire blade of an incoming scythe swipe as he hit it with a sideways flick. The caina wielding it staggered back before Aiden quickly flicked the three rods to it's head, the rods ripping through it's entire face.
The demon fell down faceless as it melted into a dark red puddle. It's comrades looked at the boy in slight shock before he swung the nunchaku to a caina on his left, turning its face into mush.
A caina on Aiden's right screamed at him as it swung it's scythe but ended up getting it's weapon broken as the young man parried it. He then flicked the three rods sideways to it's head, leaving it in the same state like he did to the other caina's.
And what came next was an absolute massacre of the hell cainas. The young devil hunter parrying or more accurately, destroying, their weapons with a quick nunchaku swing and leaving them faceless thanks to the Sparda powered rods shredding their faces.
"Take this!!!" Aiden yelled as he swung the nunchaku to a staggered caina aimed at it's head, the three rods leaving it faceless.
Aiden exhaled before he began laughing as he looked down on the nunchaku. "You're definitely going to be a great help later on."
More hell caina's came out of the dark pools that surrounded him, causing the young devil hunter to groan in annoyance.
"Ugh, why can't you guys just let me finish my business..."
That's when he heard a boisterous voice yell out to the demons behind him "Come on, men!!! Let's show these freaks the strength of Illyria!!!"
Aiden turned to the voice to see a large muscular man with long blonde hair bisecting the hell caina's that were in his way using a pair of large swords. The same knights from before running right behind their leader.
Aiden was surprised by the sudden help, but shoved it aside as he wasn't going to let someone do all the killing. He quickly unsheathed Black Ghost, dashing at his enemies and slicing them in halves. A smirk forming in the process.
