Hello everyone! I'm sorry it's been a little while since I've updated, life has been quite busy. My family and I will be leaving for a 2 week vacation starting tomorrow as well, so there will most likely be another gap between this chapter and the next. I will be attempting to finish writing the epilogue chapters in the mean time though. I've also not updated because I was having a really hard time with epilogue chapter 4.
4/7 are completed as of right now though! So please be patient with me ^
I love you all, hope you're doing well, and enjoy this chapter :3
- Your author, Bananapugg
It had been about a week since the Master of Species had reconnected with her powers. Since then she and Cole had taken trips to both Fur-Mart and the Ninjago City Zoo at the outskirts of the bustling metropolis. Both trips had also been successful, and the yellow ninja now had a decently sized arsenal of different animal forms she could shapeshift into.
Master Wu had been happy to learn of his newest students' accomplishment, and had been working with her tirelessly to help her perfect the ease of switching between transformations. All the ninja had to admit that even though Destiny was the least experienced out of all of them her hard work made up for it. They were impressed with her determination and stamina. The young girl could even rapidly transform between 2 to 3 different forms now before tiring herself out.
Everytime Destiny used her powers it drained her metaphorical battery just like the others; and depending on the size or number of shape changes her remaining energy would fluctuate. Despite this fact though Destiny had been extremely excited and happy throughout the passing week. She had gotten to spar with the other ninja some more too, and even came close to beating Jay in a one on one match that had involved elemental abilities since Master Wu wanted to test her and see how well she was coming along compared to the others.
Although the yellow ninja still had a bit more work to do before she was ready to go out on her first mission Cole decided that they should still take the time to celebrate how far Destiny had come. Besides, he figured he and the others could use a break as well. They constantly trained and went out on missions, so it was only fair that they all had a break to recharge and recuperate.
The raven haired boy peeked his head into the bridge, finding the other ninja talking amongst themselves. They had all just returned from their respective patrol routes, and the Master of Earth figured now would be as good a time as any to tell them what he had planned while simultaneously informing them he'd finished preparing dinner.
"Oh, hey Cole!" The green ninja greeted his older brother as he noticed the black ninja enter the room.
"Hey Lloyd." Cole replied, shooting the young ninja a friendly smile. "How'd things go?"
"Eh, not bad. Mostly uneventful." Kai stated, his arms crossed over his chest as he leaned against the glowing console behind him.
"You say that like it's a bad thing Kai." Nya pointed out, looking over at her brother.
"Yeah, the less bad guys the better!" Jay spoke up, "That means we can get back to Bounty sooner and concentrate on the important things. Like beating Zane's high score in 'Fist to Face 3'!" Jay explained as he pretended to play a game with an imaginary controller.
"Uh speaking of Zane, what are he and Master Wu looking at?" Cole asked, noticing the nindroid with the spinjitzu Master in the corner of the room. The pair of them were inspecting a considerably thick stack of papers.
"Master Wu requested my help in going over the documents sent by the 'Ninjago City Historical Site Preservation Foundation'." The titanium ninja answered as he stopped his scan of the page in his hand and looked up at the Earth ninja. Cole contorted his face as he sighed.
"It's not another bill for property damage, is it?" The black ninja questioned with an exasperated tone. Master Wu shook his head at the earth elemental.
"No, nothing like that." The ninja Master began, "I have been meaning to tell you all but, I sent a letter to the foundation."
"Why would you send the N.C.H.S.P.F a letter Master?" The teal ninja asked. All the ninja now had expressions of confusion on their faces. Master Wu smiled at the group before answering.
"I contacted them in hopes that they would be willing to give us ownership of Sensei Yang's temple." The elder explained.
"You mean thee Sensei Yang's Airjitzu temple? The same temple where Cole got turned into a ghost, and then unturned into a ghost?" The Master of Lightning questioned, his voice sounding a bit nervous.
"Indeed. With your team growing in size I figured it a reasonable decision to seek a larger living space; and with the Monastery of Spinjitzu no longer around, what better place to move into than a sacred temple?" The old man spoke as he grabbed his staff that was leant against the wall.
"Doesn't the temple have g-ghosts though?" The blue ninja asked timidly, moving to hide behind the Master of Water.
"No Jay, Cole freed all of Sensei Yang's students during the Day of the Departed. Remember?" Lloyd reminded the Lightning ninja.
"I know! But what if some of them stayed behind?" Jay continued.
"Nope. Pretty sure Cole got them all. Right Cole?" The red ninja said, looking over to the Earth ninja for confirmation. The large ninja merely nodded in response.
"I for one think it's a good idea. We could use the extra space. Plus, after a while living with so many boys the Bounty starts to smell… unpleasant." Nya chimed in, a sigh following her statement as she recalled all the times that she'd found stray underwear lying around or a destroyed common room littered with trash.
"No offense!" The teal ninja quickly added afterwards, hoping she hadn't offended any of the boy's too much. The others simply shrugged.
"I must agree with Nya. Making Sensei Yang's temple our main house of operations would be more sufficient for multiple reasons. It will also help solve the recent issue of trying to keep the Bounty refueled." The nindroid informed the others before looking back at the documents on the table.
"It also appears that from their response the N.C.H.S.P.F is willing to hear out Master Wu's proposal. However, they do seem to want to work out a contract and take the proper legal steps in this situation. So the process may take a while."
"That's good that they're optimistic at least." Kai stated, still in the same spot he'd been in this whole time.
"Yeah, I wouldn't be as willing if I was in their shoes." The black ninja added.
"What? Why?" The green ninja questioned, giving Cole a confused look.
"Uh, have you met us? We're basically a walking liability! Everywhere we go and everything we touch gets destroyed within, like, 6 months by some evil bad guy that wants to destroy us." Jay said with a chuckle.
"Good point." Lloyd agreed, not even bothering to argue the point his fellow ninja made.
"Hey Cole?" Nya spoke up again, getting the Earth ninja's attention. "I just noticed, where's Destiny?"
"Oh, she's in the dining room getting the table set up while we waited for you guys. That also reminds me, dinner is ready." As the words came out of the raven haired boy's mouth the other ninja turned to make their way to the dinner table.
"Wait, before we all go down to eat I wanted to ask you guys something."
"What's up?" The Master of Fire was the first to speak up.
"Well, I was wondering if you guys wanted to go down to Mega Monster Amusement Park tomorrow? Just to, y'know, hang out and stuff. I also figured we could use it as a way to celebrate how much progress Destiny has made in her training. So I want it to be a surprise for her." The Master of Earth explained, rubbing the back of his neck with one of his hands sheepishly as he did so.
"Aww, that's so sweet Cole!" Nya said in a higher pitched voice than normal, admiring the selflessness the black ninja was showing for his team.
"Mega Monster Amusement Park? That sounds like fun!" The green ninja said excitedly.
"Sure, I'd be down to go." The red ninja added.
"Me too! The first time we can finally go without trying to stop someone from destroying the park!" Jay exclaimed, just as excited as the green ninja.
"I do believe a celebration is in order for how much Destiny has progressed." The Ice ninja agreed, a smile now on his face.
The ninja then all looked to Master Wu with pleading eyes. They desperately wanted him to approve of their plans, and dismiss them from training in the morning. The old spinjitzu master used his free hand to stroke his long white beard as he considered the Master of Earth's proposal. After a brief period of silence the elder finally spoke up.
"Zane is right. A celebration is in order. Go ninja, and have a good time tomorrow. You all have earned it." Master Wu said with a smile. The ninja all cheered, being sure to thank their Sensei as well.
"Alright, that is enough. Come, let us get some food. You lot have a busy day ahead of you tomorrow."
The ninja all nodded and in no time the group had made their way to the dining room, entering just as Destiny finished laying out the plates of food Cole had left prepared in the kitchen. The yellow ninja greeted her friends as they all began taking their seats, her included.
The rest of the evening was pretty uneventful. The ninja all participated in their usual chatter throughout dinner, and the others made sure to bring up the news about the possibility of them moving to Sensei Yang's Airjitzu temple. The young Master of Species remembered what Cole had told her about his past with the building, and felt skeptical about moving to the temple of all places. She was excited about the idea of moving to somewhere more spacious, but she also made a mental note to have a sit-down with the Earth ninja and get his input on the situation.
After dinner was finished the ninja all took part in cleaning the mess. Once the chore was complete they all said their goodnights before heading to bed. In the morning Destiny was completely unaware of the other's plans for the day, and went about her usual morning routine. As she finished changing though there was a series of gentle knocks on her door, and she had learned that this particular pattern belonged to the black ninja.
"Good morning Cole!" Destiny greeted the taller ninja with a smile. Right afterwards though she noticed that the raven haired boy was wearing his casual hoodie and worn down black jeans instead of his gi.
"Uh, why aren't you wearing your suit? Doesn't training start in like, 15 minutes?" Cole couldn't help but chuckle a bit as he smiled down at the short girl.
"Nope! Not today. Master Wu gave us the day off." The black ninja informed. Destiny was surprised, she had fully been expecting to train this morning.
"Oh, okay." She replied simply.
"Yeah, and well, the others and I were gonna go out and just hang out. You should come with." Cole suggested. Destiny couldn't help but smile back at the Earth ninja. Training or not she would be more than happy to spend time with her friends.
"Sure, yeah! That sounds like fun!" The yellow clad girl beamed.
"Awesome! You're gonna need a thicker jacket before we get going though. It's getting pretty cold out." Cole pointed out, gesturing to the teens' closet behind her.
"Right." Destiny acknowledged her friend before grabbing her yellow jacket from the hanger it was on and putting it on. Once she had it zipped up she stepped out of her room, closing the door behind her as she joined Cole in the hallway.
"Let's get going! The others are already out on the deck." The black ninja said as he allowed Destiny to walk ahead of him.
When the pair of them got outside Destiny was greeted by the other ninja, all of whom were each sporting their own casual attire. They all had jackets that matched the color schemes of their ninja gi, and were all wearing jeans as well. The boys all had different pairs of sneakers on, except for Zane who opted to wear boots like the Master of Water.
As the Bounty dropped anchor the ninja all slid down the thick chain. Master Wu would not be joining them, and volunteered to stay behind and watch over the flying ship. As Destiny's feet hit the ground she recognized where they were. The Ninjago City harbor, and just a few blocks away from the warehouse that kept the ninja's vehicles safe. Once the group got to the warehouse Cole opened the large garage door just as he had the last time he and the yellow ninja had been here.
The ninja then all converged to a large white vehicle composed of several smaller ones in the back of the building. Lloyd called the behemoth the 'Ultra Stealth Raider', and it had just enough seats to house all of the ninja. Once they were all buckled up and situated in their different compartments they began the drive to the amusement park.
"So, where are we going?" The yellow ninja asked into the radio, unsure of their destination. She had forgotten to ask them what they'd even be doing today.
"It's a surprise!" Nya's voice responded through the small radio in front of Lloyd. Not five minutes later the Ultra Stealth Raider pulled up to the side of the Mega Monster Amusement Park. After the vehicle was put into park the ninja all exited, and the yellow ninja stared in awe at the large glowing neon sign above them.
"Mega Monster Amusement Park?" Destiny questioned aloud, trying to double check that she wasn't dreaming.
"Yep!" Lloyd said happily as his gaze was pulled to the fast moving cart of the roller coaster.
"This is awesome!" The yellow clad girl continued.
"I know right?!" Jay agreed excitedly.
The ninja then walked up to the entrance of the park, and once Zane had paid for their entrance fee the group walked through the gate and into the park.
"So what do you guys want to do first?" Cole asked, turning to look at his friends.
"Oh! I wanna ride the roller coaster!" Lloyd shouted, jumping up and down eagerly. Destiny looked over at the ride the green ninja referred to, and felt her stomach twist as she saw a group of riders go upside down on the loop de loop.
"Uh, I'm not so sure. I'm not a big fan of hanging upside down." Destiny replied nervously.
"Yeah, me either." Nya added, her face contorting as she observed the same sight as Destiny. The youngest ninja deflated a little, upset that none of his friends wanted to go on the ride as well. Kai noticed this though and didn't hesitate to speak up.
"I'll go on the coaster with you buddy." The spiky haired boy said with a smile as he patted his younger brother on the back. The young blonde then lit up again, looking at Kai happily.
"Really?" Lloyd asked hopefully.
"Of course. I mean, how bad can it be?" The red clad boy questioned confidently.
"I will accompany you two as well." Zane spoke up, looking over to the Christmas colored duo. "I too would like to ride the roller coaster." The nindroid admitted. His brief moment of adorable vulnerability causing the other ninja to smile.
"Alright then, what about you guys?" Kai asked, looking over at the remaining 4 ninja. Jay then gently grabbed a hold of Nya's hand, getting the short haired girls' attention.
"How about we go back to the restaurant where we had our first date? It didn't exactly go as planned last time, heh." Jay suggested as he let out a sheepish chuckle. The water ninja smiled softly at her boyfriend, giving his hand a loving squeeze.
"I'd like that. Plus we skipped breakfast, so I'm starving." Nya stated.
"What about you Destiny? What would you like to do?" The Earth ninja asked the yellow clad girl to his left. Destiny thought for a moment and eventually spotted some carnival booths in the distance.
"What about some carnival games?" The short girl said, "Ooo! We could try and win some prizes!" Cole gave her a nod, and then turned his attention back to the others.
"Okay, so three groups. Kai, Zane, and Lloyd. Jay and Nya. And myself and Destiny." Cole then pulled out his phone and set a timer for 1 hour. "We'll meet back here in 1 hour and see if anyone wants to shake things up a bit." The raven smiled as he shoved his phone back into his pocket. The other ninja then all set timers as well, save for Lloyd and Destiny.
"Alrighty." Nya acknowledged as she and Jay put their phones away.
"Got it." Kai confirmed as well as he put his phone away, and Zane calibrated his internal clock.
With that the three groups split up and went their separate ways. For a rather cold day in early winter the park was quite busy. There were small families with children, large families with extended family, pets, and even other friend groups ranging from pre-teens to middle aged adults.
All the commotion was proving to make it quite difficult for the small brunette to maneuver through the sea of people and keep up with her tall raven haired counterpart. Destiny tried to stay close to the Master of Earth but due to her shorter height it wasn't hard for other people to push themselves in front of her. Eventually the yellow clad girl found herself alone, unable to see the black ninja over the other bodies that towered above her.
Destiny wasn't too worried though, as she figured it wouldn't take the earth elemental long to notice she was missing. In the meantime the Master of Species decided to stay put, and soon found herself people-watching the groups who tried their hand at winning the High Striker.
After a few contestants struck the hammer down onto the platform the teen couldn't say she was very impressed. The next person up in line caught her attention though, and it seemed like she could have some real potential at striking the bell.
The woman was fairly tall, and her physique quite large. The hammer that was used to play the game came up to her chest, and she had no physical reaction which might have suggested any struggle lifting it. Destiny watched with a focused gaze as the woman walked up to the platform, taking in a deep breath and raising the mallet over her head.
Right as the woman used all her might to slam down the hammer the small metal notch went flying into the air. Hitting the bell at the top of the panel with a loud ding. Destiny smiled to herself as she watched the booth worker hand the woman a very chibi looking Saberrock plushie. The teen couldn't help but wish that the stuffed doll was hers, just before she could get lost in her daydream any further though a hand touched her shoulder, startling her.
"There you are, I was worried I lost you for a minute." Destiny heard the voice of the person behind her say. Turning her head she calmed down when she realized that it was just the black ninja.
"You did lose me actually," Destiny corrected, laughing a bit. "but I knew you'd find me." The yellow clad girl said with a smile as she returned her attention to High Striker. Cole followed where the girls' eyes were focused, and smiled to himself when he realized what game it was.
"High Striker, huh?" The raven haired boy questioned, and received a nod from Destiny.
"Yeah. The last lady that just played was the first one I've seen win." Destiny then pointed to the wall of plushies behind the game. "She got one of those cute Saberrock plushies."
"Do you want one?" The Earth ninja asked, looking back down at his park buddy. Destiny looked up at the boy as well, giving him a skeptical look.
"Do you think you're gonna be able to strike the top?" Destiny inquired, one of her eyebrows raised; and the Earth ninja did his best to stifle his chuckle.
Although Destiny and Cole had sparred a few times the black ninja had always gone easy on her just like the others, not only in the fighting moves he used but also the amount of strength he applied. So the young yellow clad teen had no idea that the earth elementals' power also gave him super strength as well. The black ninja on the other hand was fully prepared to surprise his teammate by seeming naturally strong enough to win the game.
"Let's find out." Cole stated, walking up to the line of the High Striker.
"Hello sir! Would you like to take a gander at the High Striker?" The man running the booth asked the tall ninja, a smile on his face as he gestured to the game behind him.
"I would as a matter of fact." Cole replied, moving up to the white safety line the carnie proceeded to point at.
"Alright, ladies and gentlemen!" The man began speaking into the mic that was on his cheek. "We have our next contestant stepping up to the plate! Let's see if he's got what it takes to beat THE HIGH STRIKER!" The worker shouted the last part, earning a series of cheers from the nearby crowd of bystanders.
Cole rolled his right shoulder a bit, preparing his muscles to pick up the large hammer placed beside him. The Master of Earth was used to wielding weapons that had long hilts, but he had never used a hammer before. As the gray clad boy lifted the hammer into his hands he immediately noted the unfamiliar center of gravity.
The Master of Earth then readjusted his grip on the handle, trying his best to estimate the right spot to place his hands. Once he did so he took a deep breath, Cole wasn't actually worried. The muscular boy just didn't want to embarrass himself by overshooting and missing contact with the platform he was meant to hit.
Lifting the hammer with ease over his head Cole smirked to himself before bringing it down onto the platform. He may have let his confidence get the best of him though, and in his effort to impress his nearby friend the small metal notch hit the bell so hard it actually caused the bell to go flying off its hinges and upwards into the air.
The crowd, the worker, and Destiny all stood around shocked, their jaws dropped. Cole put a hand up to his brow to search the gray clouded sky for the bell as he set the hammer down gently. After a moment he spotted the banged up metallic object falling back down to the earth, and held a hand out to his side.
The carnie jumped a bit as the damaged bell fell from the sky and less than a foot away from his face, into the outstretched hand of the Master of Earth. After Cole caught the bell he moved it to his other hand, shaking away the stinging pain that was now tingling in the palm of his hand which had caught the fast falling object. The black ninja then held out the misshaped bell to the worker who took it, his jaw still dropped.
"Sorry about that, I didn't mean to hit it that hard." Cole apologized, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. The worker then shook his head, brushing off his shock as he came back to his senses.
"I- uh, it's no problem. Go ahead and pick whichever prize you'd like." The carnie said as he moved to the side, giving Cole enough room to walk up to the wall of prizes.
"Are you sure?" The raven haired boy asked, confused as to why the worker wasn't mad at him for damaging the property.
"Yeah. Thanks to you I get to go home early." The worker joked, still a bit shaken up as he set the bell down onto a nearby countertop. Cole shrugged to himself and walked up to the wall of toys, and grabbed one of the Saberrocks that Destiny had mentioned. As Cole walked away from the booth and back to his friend he heard the employee talk to himself.
"Two winners in a row, and one of them breaking the game? Now that's something you don't see everyday." The man said under his breath before laughing to himself a bit.
Cole smiled as he held out the Saberrock plushie to Destiny, and his short friend took it without a word. Her mouth was still a bit open, but then she shook her head just as the booth worker had.
"H- How did you do that?" The yellow clad girl questioned, looking at the black ninja with shock. Cole chuckled nervously before answering.
"Being the Master of Earth may or may not also give me super strength." The raven admitted, "I didn't mean to break the game though, that was an accident." Destiny then shook her head again in disbelief.
"You have super strength and didn't tell me?!" She stated, "Wait, is that why Kai and Jay are always saying you're going too easy on everyone during training?"
"Yeah." The black ninja replied, turning to continue walking down the path in front of them. Destiny couldn't help but start laughing, it was like a prank had just been played on her and she found it amusing.
"Oh Cole Brookstone, you are something." The short brunette said as she walked beside him. Cole raised an eyebrow at her statement.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked innocently, laughing a bit as he looked down at his companion.
"Nothing, just that you should never change." Destiny explained, smiling up at her friend causing the taller to smile as well.
"Oh, well then, I'll take that as a compliment." Cole said happily.
"As you should." Destiny approved.
As the two of them continued to walk the Master of Earth noticed his friend was starting to fall behind again, struggling to move through the crowds with the same amount of ease as him. Cole then gently grabbed the brunette's left arm, hooking it around his right. Destiny looked up at the taller ninja, she was taken aback a bit but her surprise was quickly replaced with a soft smile.
The Earth ninja smiled at Destiny, and the smile stayed on his face as the pair of them strolled together. Cole had to slow down his pace for the small teen beside him but he didn't mind it. He actually welcomed the light pressure he felt from Destiny's hand holding onto his upper arm, and felt a comforting warmth in his chest.
After getting some food and playing some more games, this time together, the black ninja's phone finally vibrated in his pocket. It was time for them to rendezvous with the other ninja. The duo made their way to the meeting spot and greeted the other ninja happily as they all converged.
"How was the dinner date you two?" Cole asked, looking over at Jay and Nya who were close by. The couple smiled, and Nya was the first to speak up.
"It was nice. Definitely a lot easier to enjoy without any serpentine crashing the party."
"Yeah, and the food there was better than I remember too." Jay added, to which his girlfriend playfully rolled her eyes.
"Hey guys! How was the roller coaster?" Destiny asked the trio of Kai, Zane, and Lloyd as they walked over.
"It was awesome!" The green ninja said happily.
"I agree, I was quite exhilarating." Zane agreed with a smile.
"It was alright I guess." Kai tried to say coolly.
"Yes, that explains why you were the only one screaming." The nindroid stated, metaphorically burning the Master of Fire.
"I was not!" The spiky haired ninja tried to defend himself, and the youngest couldn't help but burst out laughing when Zane replayed an audio track of Kai screaming on the ride.
"HAHAHA!" Jay laughed as well, doubling over at the sound of the red clad boy's screams. "Zane! You have to send me that!" The other ninja also struggled to stifle their laughter. Once everyone calmed down and Kai was thoroughly embarrassed the water ninja noticed the plushie in Destiny's arms.
"Hey, you guys got a prize!" Nya pointed out happily, and the others looked over to observe the doll.
"Yeah, Cole got it for me!" Destiny said joyfully, holding out the plush for the others to see before hugging it close to her chest. Jay, Kai, and Nya all shot smirks at the tall ninja. Cole felt his cheeks begin to heat up a bit and he shook his head before trying to change the subject.
"Anyways! What do you guys wanna do now?" The gray clad boy questioned.
"I want to ride some more rides!" Lloyd spoke up.
"Okay, which ones did you have in mind?" Nya asked.
The youngest ninja then began to list off a handful of different attractions at the park. Including the 'tilt-a-whirl', the 'Octopus', the 'Wipeout', the 'Hang gliders' and several other rides which involved spinning. Despite the odds of getting dizzy or throwing up their previous meals all the ninja agreed to the plan. As long as there were no rides that involved going upside down they were all okay with it.
The ninja then spent the rest of the day checking off each of the rides on Lloyd's wish list. Some seated groups of three, some seated groups of four, and some only seated groups of two. No matter the situation though it always seemed like Cole and Destiny were paired up, and the other ninja took notice of this pattern. However, everyone was happy, and when the announcement was made that Mega Monster Amusement Park would be closing soon they all felt a little disappointed. Today had been an amazing day, and one that the group would cherish for years to come.
Before they could leave though Destiny quickly got her friends attention, and pulled out her phone from her pocket. They couldn't leave without taking a picture to remember this day by, and that's exactly what they did. Handing her phone to Cole, the Earth ninja changed the camera to selfie mode before outstretching his arm in front of them, the group huddled together closely.
"Alright everyone, say 'cheese'!" The Master of Earth stated.
"Cheese!" The other ninja repeated, wide smiles on their faces and the sparks of happiness glistening in their eyes. With a white flash the photo was taken, and Cole handed back the phone to its rightful owner. Destiny looked at the photo, and admired how perfect it was.
"Aw, one of my eyes is half closed!" Jay stated disappointedly.
"Why'd you blink?" Cole questioned his friend in a teasing matter.
"Because I had to blink Cole!" Jay argued, playfully hitting the Earth ninja's arm.
"Did you really?" Kai butted in, joining in on teasing the Master of Lightning.
"Oh no, you're right, I forgot I have an anti-blink switch like Zane." Jay joked sarcastically, an unamused expression on his face, earning a fit of laughter from the others.
"But, you are not a nindroid Jay." Zane pointed out, the joke going over his head.
"He knows buddy, it was just a joke." Kai explained with a soft smile as he patted the titanium ninja's back.
"Well, I think the picture looks perfect." Destiny finally spoke up, looking up to smile at her friends who all smiled back.
With the sun setting, and the orange hued sky getting claimed by nightfall the ninja left the amusement park. Once they returned the Ultra Stealth Raider to the harbor warehouse, and climbed back aboard the Bounty they all made their way to the dinner table. The table top, covered with warm plates of Master Wu's cooking.
The ninja family then shared all their stories of the day to their Sensei and each other, the sounds of laughter and feelings of joy reverberated throughout the home. The elder was happy to see his students enjoyed themselves, and that they had been able to spend the day just being kids. Yes they were ninja, and being ninja came with sacrifices, but it was times like these that reminded them all of what they fought for.
Once dinner was over the family cleaned the remnants of their meal before heading to bed. As Destiny laid under the covers she held her new plush close to her chest, the inanimate object now holding a precious spot in her heart.
