Chapter Seven: Bonds

It was an hour after the talks with Kei and Mina at Blanc's home. The two young women watched as the two supervisors leave in their SUV outside the house.

Noire waited for them to be out of site. "So, that goddess they spoke of. It seems she's the one running the show."

Blanc nodded. "Yes, but I want to confirm it. As we don't need to be barking up the wrong tree."

Noire understands that. As they are limited in information and could easily be fed the wrong stuff. She looked at the cell phone given to her.

It was a simple black smartphone, able to revive calls and texts.

Kei gave it to her, as Mina did to Blanc. They are pre-paid and shouldn't have any GPS that would track them.

A means to call and talk to the supervisors. If the need arises to talk to each other.

Noire narrowed her eyes. "I'm checking over the cell given. Best to make sure they won't track us."

Blanc handed her a similar one over. "Long as can you see they are telling the truth. As for me." She stretched. "I'm taking a shower and getting some sleep. I need to look over the flash drive in the morning."

Noire nodded, holding both in hand. "I'll be in my room looking over the cells." She went inside the house.

Blanc gave a small smile. Seems that Noire got the hint, to be careful she doesn't walk in on her.

Still, she looked at her t-vehicle. As the two are nearby.

"No more racing, are we clear, Karuta," Blanc ordered tightly.

What could pass for a complaint came from the kart.

Blanc growled, "Don't start. You were found, with bringing a 'possible enemy' to us. I know you want to test yourself, but not at the cost of our safety."

That quieted down the kart.

As for the other t-vehicle, it didn't brag or move. As it felt its master ordered the same. And if it was caught again, she might have the motorcycle in its weapon mode.

Sure it doesn't hurt the t-vehicle but does limit its movement. Making it hard for the motorcycle to get around, best not to tempt fate now.

Blanc could keep harping but didn't. Feeling she got the point across, but this could help them. They did get information from a few allies who can help.

She walked into the house. She went to the desk and placed the flash drive there, Kei's folder close by. As they took that as well.

With a quick look, it seems Noire is in her room. Thankfully, she has her own. She yawned, they weren't that far from sleeping. But the talks, combined with their earlier training exhausted her.

Blanc went straight to the bathroom, once in, locked the door. Just to be safe.

She stripped down, showing her lean body. Then step into the shower and cleaned up.

Soon, she was done. She had a clean set of clothes ready for her. As she was going to take a shower before their visitors came.

Once done drying off, Blanc got in her sleep shirt and collected her used clothes.

"Hopefully, the washer and dryer work," Blanc muttered as this home has them.

As her last place did have a spot to wash clothes. She could hear some noise from Noire's room, must be working on the cell phones.

Right now, she wanted to sleep more than anything. Soon, she was in her bedroom, under her soft covers, and slept.

In the prison, footsteps could be heard. It is morning from what the prisoner can tell, a smirk came to her face.

Soon, her captor walked up, more like stomping.

"Well, this is a surprise," she teased the goddess, tilting her head.

She hardly gets any visitors these past few years.

The goddess growled, "Enough games, what are you doing?"

Only for a snicker to reply.

The goddess folded her arms and her eyes changed color, showing her increasing frustration.

The prisoner laughed. "What is this? You think I'm some 'cheap villain' who will spill their plan, and ruin the surprise. Or maybe, you're hoping by the time I break out. No one would know who you are, goddess." She hummed.

The goddess reached for a button, one that is meant to harm the person in the prison but clicked her tongue. Knowing how futile it is. Given the ability of this thing, it would only be a waste of time.

"Oh, you learn pain isn't much to me," the prisoner teased. "Then again, how could I survive all those goddess's attacks over the years? As you should know, first hand."

The goddess did know what she is talking about. But she seethes once the prisoner changed form.

She looked to have different hair in a ponytail. More buster, only her eyes didn't change color, staying yellow.

"You." the goddess glared, she could melt steel with that look.

"What?" the prisoner innocently said. "I thought you love to see this person, after all, it was a former comrade."

A growl came from the goddess. "I don't want to see her."

"Oh, then how about this one," the prisoner said. Her form changing.

She became a slender female wearing an elegant dress and a tiara.

The goddess glowed, about ready to transform and beat this monster to a pulp. But turned and stomped off. She needed to save share.

Along with not being ready for the fight. As her past wounds still needed healing.

A sinister snicker came from the prisoner. She could change her form again. As it would keep getting under that goddess's skin.

It was nice to have a little entertainment.

"Still can't face the truth," she muttered quietly, even if she is alone.

She can change her form, but only her eyes and voice won't. Along with only being in a female form. She didn't want to try going to a different sex.

Given she was born female and is comfortable as one. No reason to change that. Still, the desperation is clear on her warden is showing.

First seeing the sign this flimsy prison can't hold her for long. And now, two goddesses are running around, both from the previous goddesses' cities. As if they've returned.

She snickered at the irony if they were reborn, maybe that goddess fears that more than anything. But from what she could tell, they are new.

Her thoughts did go to the last one. The one first attacked. That one is hiding as the other two, from her guessing.

Still, that makes it more fun. Not knowing what your enemy would do.

But, if the third one awoke. What would be unleashed? As you would have three goddesses in the mix. That has disputed her warden's plans.

Or so she thinks.

"That goddess hasn't realized what mistakes she made," she chuckled. "Then again, when did she learn anything that wasn't to her liking? After all, she is what caused the current events because she meddled."

Blanc slowly opened her eyes, hearing that irritating alarm clock.

"I should have left it off," Blanc complained, sitting up and reaching for it.

She turned it off. Seeing it is seven, her normal time to wake up.

Blanc rubbed her head, thankfully got enough sleep. Just groggy at just waking up.

She hopped out of bed and checked herself. She had messy hair and a short t-shirt. Not hiding her yellow star panties.

She groaned. "Better get dressed."

She remembered her guest. She can't be walking around half-dressed.

This time, she has a pair of blue shorts and a shirt. The shirt has a few stars on it.

She should be decent enough. Once out of her room, her nose picked up the scent of food.

"What?" Blanc looked to see Noire at the stove, and from the angle.

Is cooking food. Which isn't weird as the black-haired woman did say she could cook.

Noire had the same shirt and jeans when talking to Kei. She seemed obvious as she cooked.

Blanc walked with a greeting, so as not to scare her.

Noire didn't reply, as she was putting some bacon on a plate. Along with a few pancakes.

Blanc raised a brow. "Fixing yourself breakfast?"

Noire looked at her. "Kind of, I fixed some for you. That's if you want pancakes and bacon." She showed the plate that had pancakes and bacon.

Blanc got a plate, along with butter and syrup.

"Thanks," she replied simply taking her share.

Noire nodded. "Welcome."

The two got their plates and eat at the table.

Blanc wasn't sure what to think. At least Noire has been civil with her, not overly demanding as … she could've expected. She did read a little on roommates for an article.

At the least, they aren't at each other's throats all the time. In some ways, they're doing not too bad.

Given how they lived alone, which is easy. Only worrying about yourself, doing what needed to be your way. From her limited observations of Noire.

She seemed able to take care of herself and wasn't lazy. As she could have lounged around the house. But did read with training.

Noire finished her share, it was nice. She does like pancakes now and again. She picked up her used utensils. And walked to the sink.

I'll train in a bit, Noire thought on what to do. She could relax, she will after some more training.

As she might need to fight again. Along with it is better to learn what she can do. But just melee weapons, no guns. She much rather goes to a gun range.

As that seemed the best place.

Once done cleaning her dishes. Also returning the cell phone to Blanc. As they have the GPS off and checked it to keep it off.

She walked outside with her backpack and cell phone. It has a few things. The sun was out, not to where it is hot. Still, she is burning daylight.

Her t-vehicle is parked outside by the front. Karuta is parked near the garage, staying put.

She looked at Cavaliere. "Up for another round of training?"

Cavaliere started its motor, showing it is ready.

Noire could do the same as yesterday, but.

Cavaliere waited for what its master wanted.

Noire walked over and hopped on. "I need to learn how to use you while driving. I think there is a spot that will do. There, we'll work on attacking, okay."

Cavaliere gave a rumble, agreeing with the choice. While its master knows how to use it.

She wanted to master her t-vehicle. That brought joy to the motorcycle.

They rode off to the place. Blanc watched them leave from outside, she knows Noire can take care of herself. It just.

"I guess," Blanc muttered. "Noire is slowly growing on me. Or I've been alone too much."

She is still leery of having Noire live with her. Be glad once Noire has her place again, once safe to do that. But, she is starting to admire the black-haired woman.

She is reserved with being pushy but seems to be clever. Along with working hard, as she trained. And not just here.

From the battle in the plain and seeing how she handled her training. She has been learning and practicing for months.

The same as her, only that she researched more. Planned and thought about what to do.

Blanc sighed. "Train the body to help in training the mind. For we have foes that want me for nefarious reasons. Our heroine, Blanc."

Blanc smiled. Might as well get to training herself. Noire's drive is contagious.

Kei is glad to be home. It was a modest house. On the western side of K-city.

Mina is back in C-city, probably thinking of what they did. She did get a few hours of sleep but is still tired.

From all the traveling. Then those talks with both goddesses. It wore her out.

She heard her cell phone ring. She growled.

"I hope it isn't work." She pulled it out of her pocket, she still has a few days off.

She looked and gasped at the number, this was S-city's supervisor calling her.

"Hello," she answered it.

"Hello to you too, Kei," a female voice answered.

Kei narrowed her eyes. It does sound like her, but it seems off. "I expect this isn't a social call."

She heard a giggle. "Correct, Kei."

Kei took a seat on a chair, alert as S-city's supervisor couldn't call unless she wanted something.

"You decided to talk to us?"

A hum came. "Yes, after making sure. You were telling the truth or in this case. See if two fully-fledged goddesses are running around."

Kei narrowed her eyes. "How did you know?"

She heard a sigh. "You aren't the only one who has sources. Especially when, let's say, S-city's ruler had doubled her search for a certain person."

Kei clicked her tongue. "If you want to play this game. Fine, but know this, something is coming with a goddess at the helm. One who has thought to have died."

She heard a clicking tongue.

"I know, as you are aware," the female hissed. "A fight broke out in S-city. I got a clear picture of who started it."

Kei could feel the ice coming from the woman. "So, the one the former goddess of S-city didn't trust is behind the current state."

"She was adamant about her joining in. Saying how unstable she was," the supervisor agreed.

Kei thought about it. While the former goddess of S-city was a bit vocal about that goddess joining in. The other two did have their reservations. But they thought she would stay out of it, given the conditions her city was in.

Only for her to butt her way in, which caused Kei to frown.

"I may not remember too well when I was younger, but there was … a blimp on the fight the four goddesses had. As a betrayal happened."

Kei heard some footsteps. Her fellow supervisor is pacing, as she does get animate when thinking.

"There was that rumor that something did happen in the fight," the supervisor said slowly, as it seemed she was thinking about it.

"While there were armies back, as now," she continued. "As they helped in fighting the monsters, there were a few who acted as backups for the goddess. The thing is … they were found dead."

Kei did remember there were causalities. As in any fight during that time.

"But, their bodies were found close to where the last battle was, but with wounds that seemed different from monsters," the supervisor replied tightly.

"What?" Kei got a shiver down her spine. "Are you saying that … they were killed by."

A hum replied. "While it was possible they got hit by friendly fire, rushing in to help the goddesses. There was a transmission, saying that the goddesses are being attacked by something else, and I'm not talking monsters or the Madness."

Kei shivered. "You don't think she went that far? Sure she was…"

"I can't say for sure, but right now. We have the monsters changing. As before, which means the Madness is around somewhere and getting ready to make chaos again. As that thing caused so much death before."

Kei nodded, remembering that time. It was peaceful during the reign of the previous goddesses, but when the Madness appeared. Things got bad.

Monsters got stronger, with that thing helping them. But not commanding them, but using that.

Then that thing itself was a different ballgame. It could match a goddess in strength. And seemly hard to kill, from what she could remember.

"Then, the rulers knew the Madness is still around," Kei commented tightly. "It is the reason why each city is making things as is."

She heard an agreement.

"So, what's your standing on this?" Kei asked calmly, they need all the help they could get.

"This might be out on a limb, but." The supervisor paused and then asked. "Did you find those goddesses?"

Kei narrowed her eyes. "That depends on what you will do with that information."

Kei waited for the answer.

"If Mina is in this little rebellion," the supervisor replied quietly. "I'll join you on this crazy endeavor. As I can't trust our … bipolar ruler."

Kei knows what she's talking about, as each of the rulers has their quirks. But there are signs of it being darker, especially with a goddess involved.

"We can get a hold of them," Kei replied tightly. "But they don't trust us, as that will take time. After nearly being killed."

"That is the best course," the supervisor agreed. "As our so-called secret goddess made it clear. She is the only one allowed to rule. Not another goddess."

Kei could hear the rage in that voice, knowing what could have been stewing in the woman.

"Okay, as you know," Kei replied. "This is getting dangerous as can be. I can't even say that the goddesses are up to taking arms, not against the people. The rulers maybe, but for the most part. They are under-seasoned to rule."

Kei heard a sigh.

"Your right, but at the same time. What ruler would be ready without some lessons? At this point, we may have to rely on them taking the reins. Because you know as well I do, the rulers and their goddess.

"Won't back down so easily. As they have shown their fangs when challenged. And if that goddess is in charge, how much can they be trusted?"

"You've made your point, it just." Kei couldn't find the words to explain her feelings.

She doesn't know Black Heart enough to make a solid judgment call. But could tell, she is worried about the road ahead. Knowing that being a ruler is a big responsibility.

"Kei, for now. Let me talk to, let's say, our other special friend."

Kei gasped in shock. "You mean."

She only heard silence. But if she heard right, the third goddess is being hidden by S-city's supervisor.

In a plain, Noire is smiling while doing some turns. The dirt was a bit tricky.

She's on the part with the most dirt. A few patches of trees around, the highway a good piece away. She didn't need to be seen, the perfect place to drive around.

It seems Cavalier can handle the dirt. As she able to turn well enough. She pressed the back button and balanced it right.

The chainsaw wheel buzzed, staying in place for a few seconds.

The black-haired woman has been doing this. Practicing on attacking with Cavaliere.

Once the wheel was back to normal, she moved away. Acting as if another attack would come for her.

After a few feet, she pressed the two buttons that made her t-vehicle go into its weapon mode, stopping.

Noire gripped both halves and did a swing, the roar of a chainsaw as it was the left one.

She grunted at only lifting them off the ground a few inches. Just enough to hit something.

She dropped them with a huff. "Okay, I can only lift you a little, Cavaliere."

Her t-vehicle didn't say anything, knowing when transformed. Its master could handle it as a weapon much better. But she is making an effort to at least use it in her human form.

Noire wiped the sweat off her face. This helped to take her mind off her problems.

Nothing new per se, as she trained to relieve stress. As it was better to do something productive.

She moved the two half's together, and Cavaliere went back into its motorcycle mode.

Noire hopped on her t-vehicle and drove. Soon the two were under a tree, giving them shade. Resting from her training.

Noire took a shallow from her water bottle, sitting on the ground. Cavaliere by her side. Thankful she had some in her backpack. Along with enjoying being out here like this.

She smiled. "I'm so used to being alone."

Her t-vehicle rumbled.

Noire giggled and patted it to comfort her t-vehicle. "I'm not going to get rid of you, my companion. It just." She looked at the clear, blue sky.

"It is so easy to look after yourself. Not worrying about anyone else. No limits in a way, just free to come and go as you want. I guess that is why I was so hesitant to claim the share crystal. Knowing that I'll be responsible for so many lives."

Noire wasn't expecting an answer but felt her t-vehicle understood her. It loved to race, and have no limits on how fast it could go. That is something they have in common.

Noire thought about Blanc. Still trying to make sense of the brown-haired woman. In some sense, like her.

A quiet demeanor with a sharp tongue. But seemly smart and observant. She doesn't have much tact but didn't seem hateful.

Then again, she wasn't a master of talking either. Getting to the point using actions.

Similar and different in their ways.

Noire sighed. "Here I am, thinking about things. Still, Blanc isn't the worst person to be stuck with." She smiled at Cavaliere. "Including you, Cavaliere."

The t-vehicle gave a rumble. It knows its master isn't much for words. But she is kind in her way. As she shows care in her ways. Maybe, that is why this makes it harder on this road they are on.

White Heart, Blanc's goddess form, grunted as she swings her axe. She lashed with a kick behind her. She was feet away from the rental home.

Not that far from trees, giving some shade. But still enough room to practice.

Sweat dripped on her face, focusing on her attacks. As her axe was in its ice mode.

She wanted to know how long she could keep in it. She used the fire part but was careful. As she could set ablaze.

White Heart got into a stance and took a few cleansing breaths. Her axe went to its normal mode.

White Heart nodded. Glad to have some exercise. Still, she could feel her t-vehicle close. Waiting for any order.

White Heart put away her axe. She could stay mad at Karuta for leading those two here.

But the kart acted in her best interest. It meant no ill will.

White Heart smiled, remembering all the times with the kart. How it appeared those months ago.

Blanc is walking toward her rental home. It has been four months since she arrived in this city, C-city as it is called.

She was at an empty lot. As it was from the place that helped her in getting her new job.

She has finally found a way to make a decent income. It was a bit hard, being a writer. But she found a way to do it. Now all she has to do is start.

She smiled but stiffened. She looked around the area, she was alone. Not a soul in sight but felt something.

A light glow came to her eyes, they flashed red. Then she spotted a kart, a red one. Driving in front of her.

Blanc gasped, no one is driving it. But how did it get there?

The kart, Karuta, revved its motor. It had found its master. She will now have to prove herself.

Blanc slowly stepped to the side. Not sure what to think, as this kart drove itself here. She screamed as it rushed at her. She stepped back, and the kart started going around her.

She gulped as it would seem she was trapped by this kart. But a rage came to her.

Her eyes became red and glared with folded arms.

"Enough! Karuta, you are my chariot. You know I'm your master, so stop," she commanded with authority.

Karuta stopped by Blanc, and the kart's motor quieted down.

Blanc's eyes turned blue, and she shivered.

"How did I do that?" Blanc slowly walked to the kart. While she should be on edge, she knew this kart belongs to her.

She placed a hand on it. "You are my … companion. For what, I'll need to find out."

Karuta revved at the reply, it will stay by her side.

White Heart smiled while walking to Karuta. "Even now, I still want you to stay by my side. Maybe, Noire will be a friend. But for now. I can't say."

Karuta rumbled, letting her know. Whatever choice she makes, the kart will stay by her. As it came to care for its master. As she cared for it.

White Heart smiled with a soft pat on her t-vehicle. "We make mistakes, but what would life be without some? To learn."

White Heart glowed and went back to her human form. This was a nice reprieve. But she needed to check over the information. She heard a vehicle.

She tensed but felt a familiar presence: Noire.

Soon, Noire drove up. Seemly spent and done with her training.

Noire looked at her but didn't say anything. Once parked, she waved at her.

Blanc waved back and turned, she went inside with Noire in tow.

Blanc simply sat at her desk and started her laptop. But, a curiosity brewed in her.

Noire sat down on a chair, she relaxed. Not that far from Blanc. Then heard a soft voice.

"Noire, what was your life before this whole goddess's spill happened?"

Noire looked at her with a raised brow. "What brought this on?"

Blanc looked at her, curiously at her face. "I'm curious is all. As you are as me. I could tell you about me in return."

Noire thought about it. She was curious about the brown-haired woman. As they were created in different cities.

Noire nodded. "I am curious about you. The only thing I know is, you like to research and seemly know what is going on."

Blanc smiled softly. "Well, I do tend to read a bunch. I guess, that came from wanting to know who I was. Leading to other things."

Noire nodded. "I understand that. I was so curious about who I was. Questions such as: where did I come from? Did I have loved ones? Why was I left there?"

Blanc took a quick look at her laptop, she logged in. Place the flash drive, and Kei's folder close.

"Same with those questions," Blanc replied, looking at Noire. "I wondered if I have sisters. Or…" her cheeks burned. "I have a lover. If so, where were they? Wouldn't they try to find me? Only now." She sighed at knowing the answer.

Noire sadly smiled in understanding. "Yeah, who knew me? Why didn't they try to find me? But, to find that I was a goddess. Created to be a ruler."

Blanc blinked. "Your more open than I thought."

Noire narrowed her eyes while looking at her host. "What?"

"I thought since you didn't talk much," Blanc started explaining. "You might not tell your feelings, as if you don't care when you do."

Noire frowned with folded arms. "You mean like one of those characters who say one thing, not true to their concerns. I can't say I want to be like that. I will rather be blunt and mean what I say. Not go around in circles and get nowhere."

Blanc tilted her head. "Well, you're not that blunt. You may speak your mind more. As I try not to curse as a sailor. Given how limited in social interactions we are, with being created. I don't think we're that not bad. As we can talk and understand this language."

Noire lost her frown, that is true. In some sense, they can understand people and have some social skills. "That is true, we have that.

"Maybe, it is because of how were created. The crystals give us some knowledge to understand humans. As we need to understand them, with knowing things."

Blanc tapped her chin. "I think so too. I just thought I lost my memories, but not my essential skills I should say."

"That is one thing I'm glad for," Noire commented with a smile. "That allowed me to find work, get a home."

Blanc blinked. "What type of job did you do, Noire?"

"I was a delivery driver," Noire answered simply.

"Oh, in some sense, something that you could do," Blanc replied, as she noticed how Noire could drive pretty well.

"You said you were a writer, are you?" Noire asked, she did remember that Blanc did talk about writing a novel.

Blanc nodded. "In some ways, I still am. As I worked from home, writing articles and the occasional story. Which isn't easy, as I had to learn how to do it."

Noire gave a nod, she had to learn on driving her route. She did learn how to drive pretty quickly. Maybe that tied in with being created in K-city. As that city seems geared toward racing.

"Blanc," Noire slowly said. "Thanks for letting me stay here. I know it must be hard for you to do this, but." She looked away, not sure what else to say.

She was embarrassed but felt it was better to say this. As she is thankful for Blanc helping her. When she could have kicked her out earlier.

Blanc looked at her laptop, she should get started. "I'm going to compare the information we got. Also, you are welcome. I guess we need to lean on each other in this circumstance they've put us in. As we don't know what the road ahead has for us.

"I … don't mind having you with me for now. As your not that bad of a person."

She started working but knows that Noire is being honest about staying here. As the black-haired woman is independent and wants to carry her weight.

Given the hand dealt to her. Forced to leave her home, as she did.

She was told by Mina that they searched her former home. She made the right call to leave.

Noire smiled, at least she isn't being too annoying to her host. In a way, they are getting used to each other. Maybe, as it has only been two days. But at least they are civil with each other.

She chuckled, and a stray thought came to mind. Imagine she got stuck with someone like Neptune. Probably would have been found by now. Given how much of a chatterbox she is.

Or get the silly notion that she's a goddess. Which she isn't, as with Blanc. She could tell instantly as they seem to give off a presence.

In an office at S-city. The ruler of the city was watching the share crystal. At first, it stayed its yellow color.

But for a few quick seconds, it turned green.

"So, you're being smart," she hissed, her eyes glowing yellow. "As the others weren't attacked as your goddess. But they still waited, as they became more active once their t-vehicles formed. Knowing that will complete them.

"Then kept bugging them. As to claim them. Sorry, but your little goddess won't have the chance. No." She giggled unhinged.

"I'll find her, beat her to a pulp. All before she can amount to anything, as I have my orders. And you can't stop me. We already have enough with the other two."

The share crystal gave a spark of green as if to show defiance. Knowing that this person is wrong.

But, it is fighting this corrupted human, and the goddess it created.

The goddess has built a wall around herself. Keeping isolated from hearing its call, it seemed they had been getting through. Maybe the other goddesses are helping.

It could only guess, from the muttering of the corrupted human. Two others have been created, the same it has done.

Only, they have become full goddesses. If only, it got through to its goddess.

In a modest room, take-out boxes are around the place. A desk is there with a computer.

Also close is a tv with a gaming console.

The room wasn't empty, a yawn came from a female. Laying on a bed.

"My, that was a good nap," she said, rubbing her blue eyes. From the shadows, she has long hair.

She stood but stiffened, her eyes became purple. She growled.

"Leave me alone," her voice was full of anger. "They have their leaders. With a goddess, so leave me alone."

She relaxed as her eyes went back to blue. Still, she breathed hard.

"Okay, that put me in a foul mood. I was so ready to grind away, but."

She noticed a text on her special cellphone. The one who help hid her.

"I wonder what she wants?" She checked the text and gasped.

"There are others. I heard rumors but…" The person lost her voice.

In the past few months, she heard that two more goddesses were around. But now, it seemed it was true.

"Well, no skin off my back," she replied with a huff. "They can fix the problem or be leaders. As for me, I have other things to deal with."

She walked to the tv but could feel the stirring of something. She clicked her tongue.

"I'm not needed," she replied sadly. "That goddess made it clear. She…"

But given who that goddess was. Could things be trusted? That eats at her with being attacked.

Calling her out for being a goddess, as if she had a choice.

But part of her wanted to do something. But what could she do?

It wasn't like things would change if she became a full goddess. Or is she wrong?

She can't come up with any answers.
