A/N: This prompt is actually sort of based on an experience I had in school. The boy I liked at the time and I were in detention (for reasons I don't really remember but whatever it was, it was totally not my fault lol) and we sort of had a moment, I guess? But yeah, who knew that moment over ten years ago would inspire me to write this? Enjoy!
"Yeah, we think we're free (aha)
Drink, this one's on me
We're all chained to the rhythm
To the rhythm, to the rhythm"

He peered at her from the corner of his eyes, half his face slumped into his arms which were folded beneath him on the desk, a cheeky smile growing on his kissable lips when she shyly smiled back. Both Adrien and Marinette were alone in the classroom after school, punished with detention for all the classes they'd missed along with the use of bizarre excuses. The teacher that was in charge of watching over them stepped out of the classroom for a while, having to deal with something else, leaving the two heroes in disguise to wait in silence.
.
"Pet hamster got baked into a loaf of bread, huh?" Adrien parroted her excuse, his amused smile growing from the way a beautiful sakura shade crept up on her cheeks. "I thought your Maman and Papa didn't allow you to have any pets? With the bakery and all?" He slipped off his seat quietly and slid right next to her, resting his elbow on the desk and his temple against his fist, all whilst watching her like a mischievous, silly cat.
Marinette wasn't sure whether she appreciated his teasing (which rivalled her silly but beloved partner's) or if she absolutely adored it.
"I-I-I snuck one in," She fibbed quickly, averting eye contact when he let out a little'oho~?'. "Besides, what about you? Missing class because apparently you got stuck in a tree trying to help return a kid's kite?" This time she wore the curious glint within her eyes, mirroring his posture on the desk and watching his expressions carefully. "I mean, who even flies kites in the middle of a rainstorm?" She didn't miss the way his eyebrow twitched for a split second before smoothing itself and raising up. His smile never wavered or lost its charm.
"That's exactly what I told the kid— flying kites in this weather? Not a very good idea." He leaned closer, dancing emeralds flickering from her baby blues to her rosy pink lips and then back. "You doubt me~?" The 'ma Princesse' remained silent on his tongue but he could bet that she was able to spot it from the twinkle in his green eyes.
"And if I do?" She challenged, not even flinching when he leaned even closer, their fringes intermingling and her complexion continuing to bloom with pink every time his minty breath hit her quivering lips. His eyes narrowed playfully, his spare hand making its way to the side of her face and curling a stray strand of hair behind her ear tenderly before clasping itself behind her neck.
"Looks like I'll have to find a way to clear them all away, hmm?" Was all he lowly muttered with hunger as he guided her head towards his and pressed their lips together-
"Monsieur. Agreste! Mademoiselle. Dupain-Cheng! The point of this punishment is for you both to rethink your actions and for breaking the rules! Not to have a kissing session!" The sudden exclamation of the teacher snapped the duo back to reality, an embarrassing smack from their lips echoing in the empty classroom when they pulled away in surprise. "Ugh, teenagers! Just. Just go home! Shoo!"
Without missing a beat, Adrien and Marinette grabbed their bags and then clasped their hands together, darting out of the classroom with quick but meaningless apologies towards the annoyed teacher. They couldn't help but grin at each other bashfully as they ran hand in hand, their mutual suspicions and hopes bearing more fruit than they'd expected.
