Having spent the night at the Matthews house to be there to support Maya, Shawn awoke out on a makeshift couch in the living room area. He had been disturbed by the opening of cabinets and the rustling of dishes, particularly that of mugs. There was Aunt Morgan, in the kitchen doing dishes. With Topanga moving to London, and Morgan at a crossroads with her job as well, a deal had been struck. Morgan had moved to New York to begin working with a nonprofit to help the homeless. About the time she had found out about her offer, Topanga had received her news as well. So Morgan would rent the place at a cheap rate, temporarily, as a fail safe in case the London plan crumbled to pieces. They could leave the big things they hadn't planned to send ahead of them. Reginald Fairfield, their parents' stalker from Amy and Alan's backpacking trip around Europe, set them up with his sister Irene, with a place to stay outside of London as they settled and got all their belongings. Plans were set in motion, and Morgan had comfortability and made herself at home. Though this version of the typical Matthews home was not the same experience as it had been. Much of the bulk and feel was gone, still a skeleton of the place remained. Morgan had her boxes, and was busy making coffee when Shawn decided to get up, still wearing the same clothes from the night before.

"Hey Shawn." She warmly said, trying to be sensitive to his emotions. Shawn was losing people too, and this was hard for him as it was for the entire Matthews Clan.

"Same clothes, hm? I think it was kind to bring Maya over. Those girls have some kind of love thing going on, it hurts to know they are hurting."

She comes over and joins him, bringing 2 cups over, offering him one.

"Thanks. Maya needed to not run and hide her feelings from herself. She would've never let herself live it down if she hadn't tried to say something to Riley, even if it wasn't goodbye."

They sat in silence for a moment, the pair never quite having dealt with a deep conversation between them. It was new, and a relationship Shawn knew could help Maya still feel connected to this sacred place.

"Morgan, I know you are still settling, but I hope you would be alright if Maya comes by sometimes to help her adjust to this. It will be one of the hardest things she will ever do."

The words echoed in Shawn's head, having heard them from Eric so long ago,

Lose one friend,

Lose all friends,

Lose yourself.

He continued;

"I don't want her to unravel, Riley is connected to her in every way, and if it's alright with you, Katy and I would both be grateful if you helped her grasp at closure for what this place is to her."

Morgan tilted her head in thought, and responded,

"In some ways it will always be their house to everyone in our family. She is welcome here, yet on the same hand, I am living here, and renting. So changes will be made, this is my space, and I will respect her memories and love for this place as long as she respects my boundaries and understands that she can't control what changes happen here."

Shawn nodded, and turned his mind back to Maya.

"Think I should just let them be, or get them up? Cory and Topanga need Riley to get picked up in a few hours for the drive to the Airbnb they rented before getting on the plane."

Slightly frustrated, Morgan answered with a sour look on her face,

"Well considering I woke up to emotional music and a love ballad filling the house last night somewhere between 12-3am, and the fact that once the music stopped, it was quiet all night, they probably cried their hearts out and passed out from exhaustion."

Shawn again nodded, sipping his coffee, assumed as much. He held steady in some way to what he said to Cory when Topanga was 'moving' to Pittsburgh. Maybe somehow, it was all going to work out. Though having had more life experience, he also knew not to wish too hard, and accept the hardship that sometimes are just the cards we are handed.

A silence fell while they both thought about the day ahead, then faintly heard Riley yell something in her room. Morgan and Shawn exchange a look, and just wait to see if anything more follows, and nothing does. Only silence follows, which Shawn can only assume means tears.

"I'll go." Shawn says as he sets down his cup, and goes toward Riley's room.
