Shawn walked towards Riley's room, and knocked. From behind the door, Riley answered,

"Yeah..?"

Shawn opened the door to see Riley on her bed, who was clearly sad, but somehow managed to be glowing. Before Shawn could say a word, Riley asked a question

"When are they coming?" She referred to how much time she still had left until her parents came to get her.

"A few hours." He answered, coming into the room, but not daring to sit next to her.

She turned and stared at the bay window, and Shawn knew.

"I feel like I don't know anything anymore, Shawn. Like that inertia trick where you pull the tablecloth but everything stays on the table. Only this time, the tablecloth is the tsunami taking out everything."

"You know, it wasn't too long ago that you were at peace leaving."

Riley answered-

"I love my Mom, and the opportunity she is getting, as she has sacrificed so much for our family in her life. I want to support her, but this is so much harder now that is actually happening."

Shawn didn't have words, so instead, he asked,

"May I?" gesturing next to her, and she nodded. He came and sat next to her. Not much else was to be said. She would be in a car soon, to a place, then a plane to take her far away from this lovely place with all its lovely people. Riley had been looking forward to new opportunities at first when it had been decided that they were going. Then it struck her like a semi truck, she was disillusioned with the fact that she would be starting over, in every sense of the word. Riley turned and grabbed him into a hug. They stayed like that for a while, until Riley managed to muster-

"Take care of her, promise me."

Shawn knew she meant Maya.

"I promised to always take care of her when I married her mom Riley. Of course I will. Did you and Maya…" Before he could finish that thought, Riley gripped him tighter, and he figured he ought not to push the issue.

Morgan then appeared in the doorway, arms folded.

"Life is giving you a huge opportunity Riley. Most people don't get this chance-"

She came over and kneeled in front of Riley and continued.

"-we all love you, and will always be in your life no matter where you or your family is."

Morgan finished by reaching for Riley's hand. They stayed for what felt like eons. Riley slowly ran out of tears and entered into a state of empty, going through the motions. Her bags and suitcase were already with her parents, who were driving up from Philly saying goodbye to Amy and Alan. Riley had begged Morgan to bring her home a day early so she could spend time alone and at their old house. She had a small bag with her, just an overnight bag, and it was resting by the door. Eventually, Riley noticed something in her bag. Curiously she got up and riffled through the bag. Morgan and Shawn exchanged a look, not sure what was going on. Riley pulled an envelope out of her suitcase, along with a small box. She opened the envelope, and realized immediately it was from Maya.

"Did she leave you something?" Shawn asked.

Riley did not even hear his words to her. She began opening it, and got a first glimpse of a drawing Maya made. She instantly folded it back up and held it to her chest. Opening it would bring an onset of emotions she dare not open the door to right now. She could see the box said on the outside of it,

Songs for you.

Riley needed to shut off, so rather than dive into the deep end of that sweet gesture from Maya, she instead opted to get up, turning to Morgan and asking;

"I will look at this later. Can we do something for a while until they get here?"

"Um, sure. I have some care packages for the shelter you can help me with, if you want." Morgan said, getting up and leaving the room. Shawn stopped Riley for a moment.

"Riley, she loves you, all I ask is that you don't run from your feelings forever."

Triggered, Riley coldly put the gift back into her bag and left the room. Shawn followed behind, and found Morgan and Riley had started their distraction project. With that, Shawn walked right up to Riley, saying,

"I am leaving to go back home, I'll see you." Riley glared at him with displaced aggression, and seeing a hug was not a good idea, he put his hands in his pockets, nodded, and left.

On his way back, he called Corey to check in.

"Oh, yeah we're about a half hour away. Is she doing okay?" Corey asked.

"Maya was reluctant to go over to the house last night, but she did. When I got up, Maya had already left and Riley was just in a haze. This morning she seems almost fiery."

Shawn heard Topanga join in,

"I expected that. We'll work it out once we are on our way to the Airbnb. Shawn, thanks for everything you did for our girls."

He replied, "Yeah, those two are special."

Auggie butted in and asked,

"Hey Uncle Shawn, did you say goodbye to my room? I want it to know I miss it."

Shawn, laughed, assuring him,

"You know, I think your room knows that, in fact, I bet your whole house knows."

"Okay." Auggie briefly said, before Topanga encouraged him to take a nap.

"Thanks Shawn." Corey said gently, which was returned,

"Sure Cor. Stop by my house on your way, I want to give you a good hug."

With that, the final plans were made.
