All that was heard was Topanga's question to Riley, and the car door opening and closing, it was an instant.

"Riley? RILEY!" Topanga yelled.

Both Auggie and Corey answered at the same time, filling the car with immediate confusion.

"What? Oh my god!" Corey yelled as he realized what happened. He opened his door and called after her, Topanga also opening her door and looking for her.

"MOM, Riley!" Auggie sobbed, watching Riley almost get hit by a few cabs.

"Get over the sidewalk Corey!" Topanga commanded, and Corey did his best as he prayed not to hear any crunching. They managed to get beside Riley for a moment, after a perfect gap opened to cross lanes of traffic, and it was absolute mayhem. All shouting and begging, and filled with desperate confusion.

"Riley! Stop! STOP!" Corey yelled, demanding Riley join them, more frightened than angry.

They watched in horror as Riley broke into another all out sprint as she practically jumped to the next crosswalk and again forced her way through traffic, landing on the other side of the sidewalk. Now Riley was heading in the opposite direction of them, and because they had stopped the car, all the cars behind them started shouting and honking for them to go. Corey threw up his hands, while Topanga was panicking trying to sort out the next course of action. Auggie was crying in the backseat, so gob smacked he could do no more than join in the mania. Corey then started driving forward, tried to get back across the street, which when stuck in slow traffic, proved now to be impossible. By the time they managed to turn back to the right direction, Riley was completely out of sight. Topanga had started calling Riley, which of course, she did not answer. She kept calling, and demanded Corey give her his phone.

"Mom, are you calling the police?" Auggie said, tears still coming down his face.

"Not yet, Auggie please hold on, Corey, do what you can to find a spot to park." Topanga was in full crisis mode.

She again dialed Riley, and took Corey's phone to call Shawn.

Shawn answered, audibly surprised by the call. Before he could finish his first word, Topanga blurted out,

"Shawn, she ran out of the car. We don't know where she is! She ran INTO TRAFFIC! Oh my god-" Topoanga couldn't help but choke a bit, so immeasurably frightened and devastated.

"She what?" He said, stunned into silence. Katy immediately joined in,

"Do you know where she went?"

"She ran back toward the apartment, but it's tight traffic out here and we easily lost sight of her. She has her bag with her too."

Corey managed to find a place to park for a brief moment so they could all collect themselves. Topanga handed Corey her phone and mouthed "Keep calling" to him. He obliged, and continued calling and began texting her too. Auggie also sent her a message.

"She will probably go either back to your house, or our house. Morgan already left for work, so if you can, head back to your place so someone is there to intercept her. I'll go ahead of you just in case." Shawn said, and then followed,

"What else can I do?"

"Get back to the house I guess. I have to sort a few other things out. Shawn, I think something happened between the girls. Can you see what you can do to figure it out? It probably has something to do with this." Topanga said, holding her hand to her forehead, just stunned by what happened.

"Yeah, I'll ask. Topanga, please be safe."

"Okay." She assured, and hung up. Looking at Corey, she asked,

"Anything?"

To her dismay, he shook his head,

"It kept ringing for a while, but she must've turned it off."

Topanga sighed, and covered her mouth, in complete shock. Riley had come, with Maya, and Auggie, and Corey, and trusted her to do the right thing, this hurt so deeply, and Topanga had to settle herself to shut those emotions out, and refocus.

Corey was trying to let go of all his concerns about getting to the Airbnb to get on the plane the next morning, or any of the other things. All that remained was that she was safe, and that he was so upset Riley chose not to talk to them. Auggie sat, just bewildered by the chaos of it all, and how so much could happen in a few mere moments. He held himself, not able to do much but look at the floor and try not to cause anymore trouble.

She had bolted, and this was the aftermath.
