Chapter Five: Game Preparations
When Monday morning came, and Elizabeth and Emma were walking into the school there were students standing around the board. Elizabeth had gone to see if she had gotten on the team, she would find that her and Emma got onto the cheer team. Caleb had looked on the list to see who was on the football team. Caleb went to look into the cheer team since he was curious to see who made it.
Caleb saw that Elizabeth and Emma got onto the team and he said "Interesting then" which he seemed to be looking forward to seeing the two. Of course he would, after all since it all relies on the Cheer team for the morale that the school needed. Yet later this very same day, a whole new issue would hit the school. And it would involve one of their most prominent members leaving the team ahead of a leadup game.
Elizabeth had just said "Well this is going to be interesting" and Caleb said "Well then I'll be looking forward to seeing you more often". Elizabeth replied "Of course" she told him, when the bell rang and they had gone to their first class. During their first period, both Emma and Elizabeth seemed to have more confidence in talking with the team. Although Brian of course wanted to do nothing with the two even if they were on the team.
Julian and Caleb on the other hand, didn't mind talking to the both of them and besides it improved their relationship with their team at least. The Cheer Team and the Football team always had a bumpy relationship due to Brian and Zoe. However when Zoe left to go to Hearst, the Cheer team was relieved and Mia had a new future for it. It was funny that Zoe left for Hearst and Mia left Hearst for Oliver High.
With the first game of the season coming up and the tensions were high as it was, all three teams were preparing for their grand game. Yet, after their first period Caleb had gone over to Elizabeth, which Elizabeth said "Yes Caleb?". Caleb said "How'd you" which Elizabeth said "You're the only one besides Emma that comes over". Caleb only said "Not even the cheer team?" which Elizabeth said "Them too".
Caleb only said "Listen about our date, I was only gonna say" which Brian said "Caleb why are you hanging out with her" which Julian said "Let the man talk to her". Brian said "Whatever, ain't that important" which Caleb sighed and he seemed irritated. Elizabeth then said "Here, here's my number just text me later today on what it is". Caleb then said "Thanks" which was why he came to ask her.
Peyton then said "Elizabeth we need your help" which Elizabeth said "Im coming" which she went off to Peyton and Mia now. Ezra came up behind Caleb as he asked "So what'd happen" which he noticed the number as he said "She gave you her number". Caleb then said "Yeah" and Ezra chuckled and he pats his brother's back. All he said was "Y'know, when you guys come out about this, expect the fanbase".
Caleb chuckled as he said "Oh I know brother" which Ezra said "I mean, hell Julian says that you two were made to be honest, once he saw you two together". Caleb just went quiet, however Julian said "What's going on". Ezra replied "Oh talking to Caleb, he got Elizabeth's number" which Julian said "Oh someone's lucky". Julian chuckled before he said "Y'know, after that night at the Party, I knew you two would go so well".
Caleb only said "Please do not remind me of that night" and Julian said "Sorry about that, I was just you know talking about you and Elizabeth". Caleb said "I know but it's still a sensitive topic" Ezra only said "But yet you two had a good date". Julian added "Plus she's on the cheer team so you'll see her more often". It seemed like Caleb was looking forward to seeing her more often really.
Yet the both of them were completely unaware of what was going to come in the following days especially post-game. With tension at an all-time high, only time can tell what will happen, one thing that is known is that it is rather best to live right now. Then to worry about what the future could have planned for all of you. Around Lunchtime, Elizabeth was having lunch on her own when Emma and Autumn came over.
The two decided to join Elizabeth since she was sitting alone, which Autumn asked "So what's the thing between you and Caleb?". Elizabeth shrugged "I don't know really, he's a hard person to understand, he says we're not together yet". Autumn only said "You guys share your first kiss together… Peyton kinda told me". Elizabeth shrugged before she asked "What about you Emma? How's things going with you?".
Emma replied "It's going I guess, finding a romantic interest is hard" while Elizabeth replied "I know you'll find someone out there". Elizabeth added "Besides, I heard Luis has a crush on you" which Emma replied "Luis? As in Marino". Elizabeth said "Yeah but that's all I heard, it's up to you to believe it or not".
Sakura came to join them "So, we have a gaming championship coming up in the weeks after the game, I was wondering if any of you would come to it". Emma said "I mean I guess I could, besides It could give me something new to look forward to". Elizabeth added "I might as well tag along, I've never really been to a gaming thing". Sakura added "they are something that are worth going to if you know the right people".
Ezra came over and he sat down with them as he said "So what are you guys talking about" to which Sakura replied "The upcoming gaming competition". Ezra added "Oh yea forgot about that, so Elizabeth, Emma are you two excited for the game". Elizabeth replied "Yeah, I just hope that it'll go well and not horribly". Ezra nodded before he said "Yeah I hope so too, because we can't stand another humiliation".
Elizabeth nodded while she poked at her food and she had looked over across the way, and of course Brian was talking with some people. Which Elizabeth said "That guy is a fucking… I don't even know why those people are sitting with him". Ezra looked and he said "Yeah I don't know why either, hell Frank is the least person I'd expect". He added "After that night at the Party, Frank was disappointed in Brian at everything he did".
Ezra only said "However, if it wasn't for you going after Caleb, Elizabeth then he probably would be in a worse state or possibly dead by now". Elizabeth only replied "I do the best I can for the people I care about" which Ezra nodded. However Caleb had come over and sat with them and he said "Hello people" Elizabeth replied "Hello". Yet Ezra said "Alright lets give these two some space" which they left to leave the two alone.
Elizabeth sighed a bit before she said "I do not know why they do this every time" which Caleb said "I'll show you why" while he grabbed his phone. Caleb had pulled up a group on Snapgram, and it was primarily a group about Caleb and Elizabeth. Elizabeth only said "Christ, we have a serious fan group". Caleb chuckled, he said "So, I was thinking, Elizabeth" however Brian called out to Caleb "Its Dork and Loser".
Caleb sighed a bit but he pushed the insult off, which he said "Damn that guy is a fucking asshole" he told her which Elizabeth replied "Oh I know". However Caleb's phone went off and there was a new post to the fan group. It was a photo of just recently and it was actually them right now sitting together and talking about stuff. Elizabeth only asked "So uh, what do we do? Do we just come out and all that or what".
Caleb said "Nah, let's tease them up for awhile before we do, try and get them to like you know just be dying for it to happen" which Elizabeth said "Perfect". Personally their plan was actually quite perfect and it wasn't long before they put it into motion. However it still wasn't going to spare them anything for what was coming up. Yet that is a story to be told next time in this dynamic duo's journey together.
