Chapter Seven: Why would they?
Earlier the following morning, Caleb had awoken and he decided to leave home early besides he had someone to go pick up. He stopped his truck in front of the house and he went up to the door and he knocked on the door. Elizabeth's father had gone and opened the door since he was already up at this time and he said "Ain't it early". He noticed the truck which he asked "That's yours?".
Caleb nodded before he said "I was gonna pick Elizabeth up" the guy then said "Alright come in, besides give us at least a time to properly know each other". At the coffee table, Scott had asked "So how'd you two meet". Caleb answered "At a party, hell she was the one who helped me when I found out my ex was cheating on me". Caleb added "Ever since then I think she's been a better improvement I just don't want to like".
Scott would say "You don't want to risk what you have now, and have it possibly all come crumbling down" which Caleb nodded at that. Scott said "Well I'll be honest I've been there and I regretted it there was this woman I liked… and ruined it all". He added "I'd do anything to see her again" which Caleb asked "Who was it". Scott replied "Juliet Mason" which Caleb said "Emma's mom?".
Scott asked "She's in town?" Caleb nodded and he said "She works at the hospital" which Scott said "Oh great, now I don't know if I could show up there". Caleb said "Rough history" which Scott nodded before he said "One chance when I was younger". He added "which is why I am telling you, don't make the same mistakes I had done". Caleb nodded before he said "I think I heard her talk about a guy".
Scott said "Jeremy" which Caleb said "Yeah that's the name" and Scott said "I wanted to punch that piece of shit in the face for stealing her from me". Caleb said "Damn, it was that bad" which Scott nodded while he said "She would've been better with me". Caleb sighed and he said "Don't tell her I told you but". Caleb gave Scott the address before he said "Listen I'm doing this because I understand your pain really".
Scott only said "I appreciate it, hell it's why I am worried about you kid, you just may end up making the one mistake and losing a chance with Elizabeth''. Caleb said "Well she's taking it slow as much as I can" Scott chuckled a bit. He just said "Slow ain't having your first kiss on your first date" as Caleb said "To me it is". Scott looked at the paper and he said "I wonder if she'd still remember me or hell".
Caleb pats his back and he said "You ain't too old man, besides I've talked to her enough and hell she talks about you to this day, she says that she made many mistakes". Scott replied "Nah, we both made many mistakes but we were young". Scott said "I don't know if I could show up to her house" Caleb said "You were nervous back then were you". Scott nodded before he said "That's how I lost it all".
Caleb only said "Nervosity, the destroyer of all relationships. I saw it in action quite well" which he said "It's never too late man, you just gotta be strong". However Elizabeth only said "Dad who's here and she came out in her pajamas. Elizabeth only said "Oh hey" while Caleb said "Morning beautiful". Elizabeth only said "Shut up, I ain't beautiful in the morning" which Caleb replied "To me you are".
Caleb said "Anyways" however Scott was gone now which he said "Where'd he… Oh" as he seemed to be nervous now while Elizabeth said "What did you do now". Caleb said "Elizabeth don't get mad but, I told your father to be strong". Elizabeth replied "Okay?" and Caleb replied "There's a woman he knew and she's in this town". Elizabeth said "Go on" which Caleb added "That woman is Emma's mother".
Elizabeth only did was drink her fathers coffee he left only to spit it out, which she said "What" as Caleb rubbed his neck before he said "I tried to help him". Elizabeth said "Oh great I feel like that this is going to backfire completely. However with her father, Scott was half way there but he was like "Oh I can't do this, It's been this long and''. He had sat down on a bench now which he sighed and he said "And we're too old".
He walked home when he got there and Caleb and Elizabeth watched him slouchy and walk into the house now, to which Caleb said "You didn't do it". Scott nodded before he said "I couldn't push myself to actually see her again". Elizabeth sighed as she hugged her father before she said "I'm sure you will one day". Scott only added "I hope before either one of us decides to croak over".
Caleb said "Well Imma go, I was gonna see if you wanted a ride" but Elizabeth said "You got a vehicle now?" Caleb nodded and he said "Look outside". Elizabeth looked and now noticed the white truck, she said "Oh I just noticed that now, Alright sure". She chuckled a bit now and the two had gone to leave now while Scott was looking at the address. Later and at the school, Elizabeth had gone to Emma.
Elizabeth said "Emma we need to talk" Emma asked "What's up" and Elizabeth stated "Would you and your mother like to come over to my place for dinner". Emma said "I don't know what my mother doesn't like" Elizabeth said "It's my father". She added "Your mother and my father have history and he can't actually build the courage". Emma asked "Are we playing matchmaker with our parents".
Elizabeth nodded before Emma said "I can try and talk to her about it, in the meantime you need to build your fathers confidence". Elizabeth replied "I will try" however there was commotion and the two had gone to check it out. Their statue was vandalized and on the side it's said Berry Sux, Elizabeth said "Who would do such a thing". Michael only said "I have a hunch who, and there's a story behind it".
Michael said "my first school I went to was Hearst, but I got kicked out because I wasn't doing what the football team wanted and I disliked their control". He added "Second school, I got into a fight with someone over something and I got kicked out". He said "This is my third school and I'll be damned to let anyone hurt its reputation". Maria only said "What do we do then?" Michael smirked "I got a plan".
Caleb, Emma, Maria, Sydney, Peyton and them knew this was going to be a dangerous attempt by just how he had his smirk. Which Peyton said "What are you planning?" which Michael said "There's one thing that hearst take pride in". Michael added "Their school stick, that thing they had around during halftime". Michael said "If it's dropped, that is ten years of bad luck, we drop it at their school".
Caleb said "Hearst gets bad luck, I like it" however this would backfire on Berry quite later and they'll learn why it backfires horribly. Michael said "I'll get it planned and we'll meet up again tomorrow night or so" which they agreed. They had departed to do all of their classes and at the end of the day, Caleb had driven Elizabeth home. However the two had taken a detour by him.
Caleb asked "So what do you and Emma have planned?" which Elizabeth said "I invited her and her mother over for dinner, my father doesn't know". Caleb said "I like it, have the two meet again with surprise" Elizabeth nodded. They had been driven down by the river which Elizabeth asked "So why are we here". Caleb sighed and he said "Elizabeth, earlier me and your father talked and I don't want to risk it either".
Caleb only asked "Will… will you be my girlfriend" which Elizabeth was left surprised, however all she said was "Yes of course, but what about the others?". Caleb chuckled and he said "Simple we don't act like we're dating and we surprise the others". Elizabeth replied "I love it" and she gave him a kiss now. Caleb did the favor and drove her home now which Elizabeth said "I'll see you tomorrow".
Caleb replied "See you tomorrow, Eli" and Elizabeth had gone into her house and she said "Dad, I invited Emma over to dinner". Her father had said "What now?" which he seemed shocked a bit, and Elizabeth stated "I invited Emma over to dinner". Her father said "Well I hope she likes Spaghetti, It's my mothers recipe". Elizabeth replied "I am sure Emma loves Spaghetti" as her father had gone to work.
Later that night, Emma and her mother were walking up to the house which her mother only said "Emma you sure this is the place?". Emma nodded as she said "Elizabeth texted me her address" which her mother knocked on the door. Scott had come over to the door and he took a deep breath now and he had opened the door now. When Julia saw him, all she said was "Scott is that you" which Scott replied "Hey Julia".
Julia only said "You've, I've…" as she went to leave now as she didn't know what to do now while Emma looked at her mother and Scott looked down. However he just said "No… Not this time" and he had gone after her this time. Scott said "Julia wait up" which Julia stopped now which Scott said "Please stay for dinner, It's been years". Julia looked at Elizabeth and Emma at the doorway which she sighed and she said "Sure".
When Scott hugged her, all she smelled was the cologne and all she said was "Are you wearing Cologne" which he said "I wanted to smell good at least for you". Julian just said "well you smell better then what Jeremy smelled like". Scott only said "Please do not mention his name around me again" Julian replied "Scott, I'm sorry for our past". Scott said "Don't worry about it, at least we've finally met again".
Elizabeth said "are you guys coming in or standing out here all night" which Scott chuckled "After you" which Julian had gone inside the place now. Caleb's own advice was helping out a bit at least, maybe it wasn't lost for him. Scott had followed her in, and tonight actually went quite well for the night. And hell it was the first time that Emma and Elizabeth actually saw their parents happy in a lifetime.
Yet tomorrow brings a new day for them, they were going to teach Hearst a lesson for defacing their own property, and the fact Wes eventually came out about it. He initially approached them at lunch to explain his story but he was also happy to take them back.
