The shed sat at the furthest end of the harbour and only consisted of four large metal beams holding of a simple slanted roof. Neville sat inside happy and asleep along side Titan, Mark, Jill and Lisa.
"All right wake up, we've got things to do." called out a voice.
Waking up Neville spotted Mr Harvey Thomas.
"Good morning Mr Harvey." smiled the other engines.
Neville just chose to keep quite.
"We've got a lot of work here, and a lot of changes going on."
"Great." beamed Titan "Are we getting rid of Frankenstein over there."
Mr Harvey crossed his arms as Titan, Mark and Lisa laughed wholeheartedly, Neville wished he could sink further in to the shed, but without his crew he was stuck in place.
"All right that's enough." Mr Harvey said calling it of "The Pilot program is finely reaching us down here, and they're sending in some new 08 class shunter's."
"Here." panicked Titan.
"We aren't being replaced are we?" worried Jill.
"No, Mr Tops would never do that, but with Neville being sent off we are going to be in need of some help."
"Wait what's going to happen to Neville?" asked Jill looking at him with fear in her eyes.
"Well." said Mr Harvey carrying on "He is being replaced with a new class of diesel, they are calling the war ship class, and seeing as it's going to a big one, they need some shunter's to make sure the work load doesn't falter, since he's been picking up the slack since he arrived."
Mark and Lisa looked away,.
"So what is going to happen to old boxy?" asked Titan.
"As I was saying, due to Neville being replaced by a bigger engine for a trial, he will be working on trial else where."
"What?" burst out Jill "You can't send him away."
"Look, the government wants to push theses new diesels, and that means steam has to go, and if both trials work out the diesel's will, stay."
"And what if they don't?" wondered Jill, fear and dread stuck on her face.
"That depends?"
"On what?"
"If Neville's trial goes well, he will be purchased and stay on the new line and if the diesel does not do well a new one will come instead."
"And what if the opposite happens." Jill wondered.
"Neville will moved to another and more trials under taken." finished Mr Harvey and he left.
Jill looked to Neville who had been quite for most of the conversation, his face seemed just as sad as hers but he seemed more conflicted then anything else.
In the yard Neville was shunting trucks ready for his train when Jill arrived in hurry.
"Are you okay?" asked Jill still panic-stricken.
"Short of." said Neville screwing up his face. "Wile I don't know where I'm going and I don't like the idea of not seeing you or Rosie again."
"And I don't want you leave either."
"But Jill, I can't live here for ever."
Jill's boiler sank hearing the words.
"As much as I know I worked here for all my careerer, having to live with engines like Titan and the others, I just can't."
"I understand." she smiled weekly "I hope you'll fear better on your new line, but I also hope you come back."
"Bye Jill." he smiled "I hope to see you around."
Giving a warm smile Jill saw him off saying "I hope you have an enjoyable time wile your away."
Neville laughed as backed on to a train and giving a large toot his whistle left the yard train in toe.
Arriving at the North yard Neville was smiling as he felt a brush of air pass though his pistons and smoke billow out his funnel. His new attitude was a great change in the yard for Rosie, who perked up to see him arrival in such a mood.
"What happened to you?" she asked.
"I'm been sent away on trial."
"What, really, where?" she asked becoming inquisitive.
"I don't know, all I know is depending on my trial goes, that will determine if I stay or move else where."
"I hope to join you there some day." she smiled.
"I don't even know where there is." he chuckled.
"Well when you arrive you can send for me?"
"Well if they ever need a shunter I'll make sure to ask after you."
"So, what train are you meant to be taking?"
"I don't know."
"Well you'd better ask someone, other wise you won't be going any where."
Neville smiled as Rosie went back to work in the yard.
Leaving his goods he looked around at the other waiting trains, before he was spotted by a yard worker.
"Oh you're the Q1." he said "What's your number."
"C10." Neville replied bluntly.
"You're the new transfer on trial to the North Western." he grunted. "Okay your going to need to banker or another engine to double head the goods train to Burrow."
"Really, what train am I taking?" asked Neville.
"The one over on the far side of the yard." he said gesturing to a long line of trucks on the far siding.
"No I think I can handle that." Neville said eyeing up the goods in-between Rosie passing by.
"What ever you say, just use the lay by to get in to Kings-cross and everything should be set from there." he said wondering off.
Neville smiled as he eyed up the lone train, it had been a many years since he had pulled a train that big before.
Backing on a brake van was coupled up at the back thanks to Rosie.
"Do you need a helping push?" she asked.
"No I can manage, and I'll be sure to tell the manager about you if they need a shunter."
"Bye." she called as he started up.
Wheels turning, he started up without a single wheels slip, he was able to pull away with ease, and pulled out of the yard with the train trialling behind him. Giving of a whistle to Rosie as he left him behind, making his way towards the North Western Railway.
