The first day was off to the ruff start Neville was feeling uneasy as Arry and Bert moved past him and left their trucks in the yard and went back to the factory. Soon enough his new crew arrived and hopped on board, allowing him to start as he shunted the trucks ready to start work.
Murdoch was already on his way down and Neville was playing on his mind as he made great haste down towards the main line. He came to the junction leading to the station and onwards to the Burrow, and the off shout linking up to the main line, taking you back to Tidmouth.
Speeding along he was diverted towards the station and so slowed down upon his approach and as he pulled in found Emily also pulling in with her train.
"Oh high Murdoch, I thought you where going to get a new engine to make the runs to the Iron Works."
"Well I saw him actually."
"Really what was he like?" she asked.
Murdoch felt unsure of his answer. "I don't know, we didn't talk but I saw him laughing with the Iron Works Twins."
"Wait, really?"
"Yes, which is wired because. I cloud not tell if he was a steam engine or a diesel."
"Well I can tell you we don't want any more of those diesels here."
"I agree with you there. There have been to many nasty diesels coming here."
The two soon parted ways as Murdoch had to swing back to the other end of the train to take it back, wile Emily carried on up the line with her coaches.
With his new crew Neville was shunting trucks at the yard, as backed more trucks on his his train he was about to leave Arry and Bert came in and shunted trucks in to him laughing.
"Look what we've got here Bert?" sniggered Arry.
"We've got a steamy in the middle." Chuckled Bert.
Neville just huffed as he shunted backwards to get away, but Arry and Bert persisted and kept shunting the trucks after him, after a few more tries Neville was backed in to a siding.
"Can I go know?" asked Neville trying to move.
Arry and Bert just looked at each other and sniggered as they laughed at Neville.
Neville began to get angry "Can I go now please." he insisted.
"No your staying put, you ugly box on wheels."
Neville kept bumping the trucks trying to leave until he gave up and stopped, the twins laughed and left him. Neville was fuming as he shunted the trucks away and almost crashed them.
"Steady on." said his crew.
Neville chose to try and calm down as he carried on shunting his train.
After collecting his trucks Neville set off making the trip to pick up the rest of the trucks at the different placed along the line.
Back down the docks Edward was still keeping an eye on the twins as they brought down more clay trucks to the key. Salty was sinning songs as he sat himself in between trucks shunting them about.
"The Captain's mind was not of greed. But he belonged the the Wellerman's creed. She took the ship in tow." he sang.
"We've heard that song three times already." groaned Cranky.
"Aye, but it's a dame fine tune." chortled Salty.
"I like it." said Edward "And it helps keep the trucks docile making things go faster, so I can keep on eye on the twins."
Then Bill and Ben arrived pulling trucks of clay.
"Speak of the devils." sighed Cranky.
"What were no don't anything." said Bill.
"In fact we're working." added Ben.
"And don't you have a train to catch." sniggered Bill.
"That's right Bill, you've got to take goods Edward." laughed Ben.
Edward screwed up his face "Your right, but I will be back." he said as he left the yard, and the twins started laughing.
"Don't ye two get nay idea's." said Salty.
Just then BoCo arrived form the station.
"Aww." said the twins, as they left to take some trucks back.
"I see you." said BoCo eyeing them up.
Salty laughed as he carried on shunting on the key.
"I've heard some rumours, about the new engine." said BoCo.
"You know you should never spread rumours." said Edward backing in with a goods train.
"I know, I just thought I'd tell you what I heard." said BoCo.
"Well I don't want to hear it."
"Okay, Salty do you want to hear it?" laughed BoCo.
Just then Murdoch steamed in and came to halt. "I saw the new engine."
"How are they?" asked BoCo.
"Well it's hard to say." said Murdoch "I saw him with the diesel's at the Iron Works."
"Arry and Bert?" questioned BoCo.
"Why would the new engine talk to those scurvy dogs?" added Salty.
"I don't know but we better beat careful around them." Murdock warned.
Neville was coming down the line and came in to the station with his goods and was about to carry on though down the main line when he was flagged by the station master.
"Wait, wait." he called. "Your going the wrong way."
Neville stopped and backed in to the station.
"Your need to head down west of the line to Wellsworth."
"Oh, thank you." said Neville, he felt rather silly.
He began to make his way to the other end and as he backed down the smoke form his funnel filled the air.
Coming in Henry stopped and saw Neville, his face screwed up at the sight
"Oh hello there." smiled Neville.
"So your the new engine are you." Henry.
Neville was unsure on how to respond but before he could Henry interjected.
"I've heard your consorting with the diesel's." Henry accused. "I thought we where meant to be sticking together." he snorted before pulling away to the yard.
Confused, shocked and feeling worse now then ever before Neville pulled out of the station, with his train.
"Why does everyone hate me." he sighed.
Feeling sad and alone Neville carried on down the line, letting the trucks drag behind him.
