Seeing the members of Enuma Gremory's family in paintings was one thing. Actually meeting them and getting an actual impression was another for the newest member of the mentioned Devil's Peerage and the most recent person to join the Gremory household, Hermione Granger. The Demon-Ship noticed that, besides herself and Shalltear, only two people amongst the people present didn't look like they were related to the others. A buxom teenage girl with very long black hair and violet eyes who was probably of far eastern descent and a very buxom woman with silvery hair who appeared to be in her early twenties. Akeno Himejima, Rias Gremory's Queen, and Grayfia Lucifuge, Sirzech Lucifer's Queen and wife. The Queens of Enuma's big sister and big brother's respective Peerages.
"Ara ara. The Red Duchess and her Peerage have finally arrived." Exclaimed Akeno in a tone that made the hexagon eyed girl feel nervous. "So that's little Enuma's first Knight? She's cute."
"Akeno, please. Can't you see you're making her uncomfortable?" Asked Rias her Queen in a tone of exasperation.
"What? I'm only telling the truth."
"Even so, you're clearly making her uncomfortable."
"I'm right here you know." Deadpanned Hermione, unintentionally surprising the blue-green eyed redhead and violet eyed ravenette by her (rather light) German accent. "What?"
"Nothing. I just wasn't expecting the accent." Replied Rias rather sheepishly.
"I'm fairly certain that I mentioned the accent in my messages, Rias. If I didn't… oops." Stated Enuma with a slightly pondering look on her face as reached into her pocket, pulled out her phone and seemed to check something. The phone itself was clearly a modern one with a touch screen and a rather interesting mark of branding on the back. A pair of red Ds with an upside down heart inside the Ds linked together with a bright green X at the upper left and lower right limbs of the X. While she didn't notice immediately, Hermione was looking at Enuma's phone with a look of disbelief.
"Have you been using that thing at Hogwarts?" Hermione couldn't help but ask, ignoring Rias and Akeno stage-whispering to each other about finding the name of the castle where she and Enuma went to school, ridiculous.
"Yes."
"But how? You wouldn't be able to charge it and even if you could it wouldn't have been able to function due to magic interfering with electronics."
"That might be true regarding tech that hasn't been made with special techniques to make it work alongside magic and have the option to use the naturally occurring magic as an alternative power source."
"That's not all there's to it is it?"
"Nope. But I don't understand the technobabble."
"Okay then."
"…"
"…"
"…"
"What does the branding stand for?"
"It stands for Devil's Deal."
"Sounds cliche."
"So I'm not the only one of that opinion. Nice to know. Anyway, that's not what we're here for."
"Indeed. Get over here you little troublemaker." Exclaimed Rias in agreement as the older Devil pulled her little sister into a very clearly affectionate hug before wrapping her arm around Enuma's neck and playfully rubbing the younger Devil's head with her fist.
"Rias!"
"Happy Yule Enuma." While Enuma definitely looked rather embarrassed, she also looked to be happy in equal measure.
"She looks… happy." Said Hermione to herself as she and the Queens, Akeno and Shalltear, looked at the two sisters' antics.
"Indeed. Ever since she was taken in by the Gremorys, her life has been nothing but an improvement." Replied Shalltear, joining in on the conversation.
"Enuma is adopted?"
"What was her life like before the Gremorys took her in?" Akeno and Hermione asked the Bloody Valkyrie respectively.
"She was Blood Adopted to be specific, changing her from her old heritage and species to her current one of a child of Venalana and Zeoticus Gremory. As for your question Hermione, it's not my place to tell. It's Enumas. And she might tell you if she knows she can trust you with that piece of information. She might eventually trust you enough to tell you, Hermione Granger, but I highly doubt she'll ever trust you enough to tell you, Akeno Himejima." Replied Shalltear cryptically as the Vampire eyed her fellow Devils in the Peerages of the two daughters of Gremory while the mentioned girls joined the rest of the direct family, who each proceeded to give the two sisters some sign of affection. Which made the Bloody Valkyrie smile fondly at the heartwarming sight of family.
