When Ren woke up he was back in bed, but not in Kira's bed. It was his bed; he could immediately tell that it wasn't Kira's room due to the lack of a notebook or bedside table in General. As soon as he picked up his phone an alarm started to go off, one that he never set. "Check notes?" He asked out loud to himself before checking his notes only to see a long note addressed to him.

After reading the note, he decided to wait until the day was over to respond as he wanted to make sure she was up to speed if anything noteworthy happened during the trip to the new school, but he did notice that the same app from yesterday was still on his phone despite the fact that Kira wrote in the letter that she deleted it. He shrugged.

(I'll deal with that later, then there's that strange dream from last night…Things are just making less and less sense lately) Ren thought to himself before he heard footsteps coming up the stairs. "Looks like you're up. Well then let's go and introduce ourselves properly to the staff about your transfer, the school you're attending is in the Aoyama district." The man womb Ren assumed to be Sojiro said before continuing.

"It'll take a while to get there by train. The transfers are a real hassle, too. I'll drive you there, but just for today. Let's go." Sojiro said to Ren before going downstairs. Ren then quickly changed into his uniform before going downstairs.

Once they arrived, Sojiro turned to him and said, "Do me a favor and behave yourself, alright? Don't get me wrong-I don't care what happens to you. Just don't cause me any trouble." Ren nodded before they both entered the school and walked to the faculty office.

Once they found the faculty office they were greeted with the principal who was an extremely obese man to the point that his ears were practically nonexistent wearing a tan suit and a red bow tie, and beside him stood a skinny lady wearing a yellow and white striped T-Shirt who had black wavy hair.

"To reiterate, just so we are clear, you will immediately be expelled if you cause any problems." The principal told Ren. "In my opinion, you're nothing but a liability, but we had our circumstances to consider… Whatever you might've gotten away with in your hometown… Those days are over. If you are thrown out from our school there will be no place for you to go. Keep that in mind."

He said to Ren before motioning to the black haired woman beside him and saying. "This is the teacher in charge of your class." The teacher stepped forward and introduced herself.

"I'm Sadayo Kawakami. Here is your student ID." She said before putting a card on the table on top of a folded up pink flier which Ren noticed immediately before she noticed and quickly slid it back and returned it to her pocket.

"Be sure to read the school rules. Any violations will send you straight to the guidance office. And if by chance you cause any problems, I won't be there to protect you at all… That is your promise, yes, Principal Kobayakawa?" Kawakami said glancing at the Principal

The Principal nodded before replying "He is responsible for all his actions." Kawakami then asked Kobayakawa why he was put in her class. (-Sigh- What did I do to deserve this?) Ren thought to himself (If they are going to treat me as a burden then maybe I'm better off back in Juvie.)

Suddenly he was thrown out of his thoughts by the familiar voice of Sojiro. "If you're done explaining things, mind if we get going? I have a store to get back to." Kobayakawa nodded before finishing off saying. "Sakura-san, please keep a close eye on him. Don't let him cause any trouble outside…"

Sojiro put his left hand behind his head before glancing at Ren and replying by saying. "We'll, I'll be sure to have a serious talk about the situation he's in." Kawakami then sighed before turning to Ren and saying. "Come to the faculty office when you arrive at school tomorrow. I'll show you to your classroom."

On the way back to the car, Sojiro stopped in the hallway leading to the entrance of the school and turned to Ren. "Everyone's giving you the cold shoulder. That's what having a criminal record does to you. Turns out your past follows you wherever you go." Sojiro said to Ren before turning towards him and resuming his lecture. "By the way…If you get expelled now, I won't hesitate to kick you out. Got it?"

"I'll be careful." Ren replied before pushing up his glasses, and then the pair headed back to the café. The ride home was longer than the drive there due to another accident, this time a train had crashed which he hoped wouldn't happen again, Sojiro had made it very clear that he was to take the train to school.

Out of the whole drive home only one noteworthy thing came out of the conversation. Ren had asked Sojiro why he had taken him in, to which Sojiro replied. "I was asked to do it, and I just… happened to agree to it. I've already been paid for it too, after all." Ren suspected there was more to that question that Sojiro didn't want to admit so he just let it go.

By the time they arrived at the café, it was already evening and at Sojiro's request they went upstairs to Ren's room. When they got upstairs Ren was given a black book from Sojiro. "Here's a diary. Make sure that you keep it up to date. You may be under probation, but there's no special limitations on what you do in particular. Besides following the law, that is." Ren nodded and gave Sojiro a thumbs up before Sojiro chuckled.

"However, I'm obligated to report on you, which is why I'm having you record your daily activities" he said before his phone rang. After he was finished on the phone he turned to Ren and told him. "Well, I'm off. I'll lock the place up, so do whatever you want for the rest of the night."

Sojiro then went on to say that if anything went missing that he would report Ren to the police, before leaving the premises. Once Sojiro had gone home, he wrote in his journal before getting changed into something more comfortable, however before he was about to go to bed he heard the distant sound of a phone ringing, then he remembered that there was a yellow pay phone downstairs.

Turns out it was Sojiro, he wanted Ren to flip the sign to "closed" since he had forgotten to do it before he left, Which Ren happily agreed to do. But while he was outside he felt as if someone or something was watching him so he quickly went back inside after the sign was flipped.

Once Ren was in his bed he decided to reply to Kira's note from earlier.

Dear Kira Kurusu,

Aside from the Principal being an absolute prick to me about my so-called "criminal record" and meeting my teacher Ms. Kawakami, me and Sojiro got stuck in traffic due to another accident… I have this feeling that all of these "accidents" are somehow connected to our rehabilitation that Igor told us about. I was told by Kawakami that tomorrow morning I should go straight to the facility office so she can show me where my class is. Oh, I almost forgot, Sojiro gave me a journal to use for my parole office, anyways I also have a sneaky suspicion that we were never supposed to meet and that we are the same person or at least two different versions of the same person, if that were the case it would explain why there are so many coincidences concerning our lives. Please let me know how tomorrow goes and if anything changes.

From: Ren Amamiya

Ren sighed before remembering the app that had showed up on his phone despite Kira deleting it. He checked first to make sure it was still there and when he found it, he deleted it. (Maybe I should reset my phone just to be sure it's gone.) he thought to himself before falling asleep.
