"Alright, it looks like we're closing in on the Survival Area and Stark Mountain." Ark said, as he and Seer Ash made their way through the woods.

"So if you don't mind me asking, what is that thing?" Seer Ash asked.

"I'm Rotomdex! The perfect combination of Rotom and Pokedex." Rotomdex said proudly.

"It can talk." Seer Ash said in disbelief.

"Of course I can talk, why wouldn't I be able to talk!" Rotomdex said angrily, his screen flashing for a moment.

"Hold on what was that?" Seer Ash asked.

"Huh, oh the background photo." Ark realized, showing it again. "Yeah that was taken after my Alola League victory. You've got me and Pikachu, and then that's my sister Cass and her Meltan."

"You mean Cassie, right." Seer Ash said.

"Wait, you have one in your world too?" Ark asked. "You have a little sister named Cassandra."

"Cassie, yeah she… how is yours?" Seer Ash asked.

"Last I saw her she was fine, why, how's yours?" Ark asked.

"She… she died." Seer Ash admitted.

"Hey look, once we stop MissigNO I'm sure your world can be returned." Ark said.

"No, not like that. It was cancer, she died before I even left on my journey." Seer Ash said.

"Oh, I'm sorry for that, it must have been hard." Ark said.

"Not as much as you'd think, my powers allow me to communicate with her still, she hasn't moved on just yet." Seer Ash said.

"Maybe you can visit my Cass sometime, probably a very different person." Ark said. "And hey don't worry about those whole code names with me I go by Ark so the Ash problem was never a thing for me."

"You just don't want to be known as Ponytail." Seer Ash chuckled.

"Hey don't dis my hair, and it's still better than Pinky." Ark chuckled in response. "That should be the volcano up ahead, we should go in for a landing nearby. Toucannon let's go down."

"Dragonite you too." Seer Ash said, the two trainers descending to the ground.

On the ground

"Are you okay?" Ark asked, as Dragonite skidded to a stop.

"Fine, why?" Seer Ash asked. "Dragonite is just a bit faster than he should be for the landing."

"You have a landing strip." Ark commented, seeing the torn up ground behind Dragonite.

"Fair enough." Seer Ash said. "So what is it we're looking for out here?"

"Not entirely sure myself, but we'll know it when we see it, I know that much." Ark said.

"And you said you had experience fighting in Volcanos?" Seer Ash said.

"Wela Volcano, yeah, one of my best friends also prefers the fire type so my team has a lot of experience battling in high heat situations."

"Hope my team can keep up." Seer Ash said.

"If nothing else, just throw your Dragonite at it." Ark joked as they saw magma flowing. "I think we found our problem."

"NEED MORE POWER!" A large man of lava yelled out angrily.

"Yeah, that can't be good." Seer Ash said. "Pikachu use Thunder!"

Seer Ash's PIkachu let off several bolts of electricity, blasting at the lava man with great force before the magma rose out of the volcano becoming something different.

"Those are our targets, those Pokemon creatures." Ark said.

"Don't know what they are, but if that's them, I know who can cool them off. Dewgong come on out! Use Surf!"

A tidal wave crashed up the path, cooling and solidifying the creatures into more solid forms.

"Rotom, what's your best guess?" Ark asked.

"They look like to be a Ninetales and an Arcanine!" Rotomdex said.

"Ash think you can keep the water coming?" Ark asked.

"Easily." Seer Ash said. "Dewgong use Surf again!"

"Pikachu you use Surf too!" Ark called out.

"Surfing Pikachu, cool." Seer Ash said. "Pikachu use Mimic!"

Dewgong led the tidal wave, with both Pikachu on either side of him as they crashed into the false Ninetales and Arcanine.

"Ninetales use Nasty Plot! Arcanine use Extremespeed!"

Arcanine raced forward, grabbing both Pikachu and running off as Ninetales started to paw at the ground.

"Yeah, I know." Seer Ash said. "Dewgong return! Dragonite let's go after that Arcanine!"

"Incineroar use Darkest Lariat!" Ark called out.

"Ninetales use Flamethrower!"

Incineroar spun through the flames with ease, knocking them aside before slamming into the Ninetales.

"These things might be tough, but they don't have the first clue about Alolan Pokemon." Ark chuckled. "Incineroar use Cross Chop!"

"Ninetales use Solar Beam!"

Incineroar leapt at the Ninetales, slamming through the Solar Beam and shattering the Ninetales.

Elsewhere

"Alright Dragonite let's try your new move from the Valley, use Fire Punch!"

Charizard rushed forward, slamming his fist on the Arcanine causing it to crumble slightly.

"Dragonite let's get ahead of them!" Seer Ash said.

Dragonite sped forward, coming in for a crash landing that stopped the Arcanine in it's tracks.

"Alright now Egguardo let's go!"

"Hitmontop!" Egguardo called out, spinning out of his Pokeball.

"Use Triple Kick!"

Egguardo spun on the tip of his head, slamming his feet into the Arcanine's jaw, shattering it and freeing both Pikachu, before all three got out of there as fresh magma dripped down from the opening.

"Now Dragonite use Hyper Beam!" Seer Ash called out.

Dragonite slammed his arms on the ground before sending out a powerful beam of energy that destroyed the Arcanine.

Back with Ark

"Alright Magmortar, let's melt them!" The figure exclaimed.

A large Magmortar rose from the magma of the volcano, taking shape above the battlefield.

"Incineroar use Cross Chop!"

"Magmortar use Fire Blast!"

Incineroar fell through the flames, slamming into the giant Magmortar but in the end it did minimal damage.

"Magmortar use Focus Blast!"

"Incineroar use Darkest Lariat!"

Magmortar fired a blast of energy at Incineroar who countered it with Darkest Lariat and that seemed to work for a bit until the Focus Blast won out, sending Incineroar launching away.

"Alright, no matter." Ark said. "Golisopod let's go! Use Drill Run!"

"Magmortar use Thunderbolt!"

Golisopod spun at the giant Magmortar, the bolt of electricity bouncing off of him before he slammed into the Magmortar's leg.

"Now use Razor Shell!"

Golisopod sent a flurry of slashes at Magmortar, causing the giant to stumble.

"Flareon help them out!"

A Flareon launched from the flames of Magmortar's head, rocketing straight for Ark.

"Simi!" Passimian screeched, tossing his Iron Ball right at the Flareon, dispersing the week flames that made up its body.

"Just in time, phew." Ark said. "Alright Golisopod Let's finish this! Use Hydro Vortex!"

Golisopod spun around the giant Magmortar waves crashing against the Pokemon to cool off and solidify its body completely.

"There! The glowing spot, Passimian hit it with Fling!"

Passimian rushed forward, avoiding the lava as he grabbed his Iron Ball, launching it at the glowing spot on Magmortar's head, shattering the solid creature into pieces as the plate was revealed.

"And that's another one for us." Ark said. "But where'd the other Ash go?"
