This part is where a drastic change in the story will alter the course of the season, can you spot it? Hope you enjoy it!
Chapter 4: Twinning for Once
After the second elimination ceremony, the rest of team Maskwak awkwardly walked back to their shelter while Dave did the same. What surprised him was that he could see the illuminated tree top that was coming from the tree house. He made his way up the top surprised to find his team relaxing with makeshift lights and foldable chairs.
"We have lights now?" asked Dave, obviously on this.
Scarlett came out of the other side of the curtain separating the boys and girls of the treehouse. "To answer your early question, I gathered some chairs and lighting fixtures from the common area and fixed them up for our domicile." she showed a makeshift light switch just to her right.
"Oh Dave, you're back!" Sky stood up to welcome him in. "It was dark in that forest, you could have gotten yourself seriously hurt."
"T-Thanks?" he replied. "I was just out to check on the elimination ceremony; Sugar got the boot this time."
"Sucks for her, a real shame..." Topher sounded sarcastic as he responded.
"Wasn't she a beauty pageant star?" asked Samey. "I would expect them to vote for Leonard for his...you know..."
"Well given Ella's exact position from the greased wall, it's deemed impossible for him to catch up with her on time." calculated Scarlett, standing beside the window, "Approximately 8 minutes of delay wouldn't be a problem if she hadn't kept hugging the boar."
"Let's not dwell on the past, and look forward to the next challenge," Dave cautiously warned his team. "Who knows what Chris has in store for us."
The rest of team Kinosewak agreed and went to their designated sleeping spots as Scarlett turned off the lights with a switch, making the entire room pitch black. Dave casually laid on a thin sheet of a blanket that the others found in the pile of junk. Though he survived another day reliving Total Drama, he shouldn't stay comfortable.
The morning was peaceful, as Dave had a good night's sleep these past few days as he awoke from the floor and stretched out his arms and legs. He noticed that the rest of his teammates were also rising from their slumber, so he stood up to make his way outside the balcony to discuss a plan for the upcoming challenge.
Let's see...if I remember correctly, the next challenge is where Max and Scarlett joined forces and Samey disguised herself as Amy to avoid elimination. But with my changes, that never happens. I just need to focus on getting close to Scarlett, and as much as I dislike it, I'm going to have to ally with her.
"Morning Dave, how's your sleep doing for you?"
He heard the voice of a male this time, it was Rodney with his innocent face walking out of the tree house and standing next to Dave. It caught him by surprise, he never really made contact with Rodney before, albeit he was from the other team in the last timeline.
"Rodney, how are you doing buddy?" greeted Dave in return, keeping a low profile, "Say, you were spot on during your part of the challenge."
"T-Thanks..." he anxiously replied, "Listen, I need you to tell me how to speak to my girlfriend Samey?"
"Girlfriend?" Dave looked puzzled, "How long was I gone last night?"
Rodney was quick to come down to his knees and beg, "Come one, please! I've seen you speak to Ella and Sky like it was nothing! I don't want to screw things up!"
This was a sudden dilemma for him, he never expected to be begged for help from anyone in the game, especially Rodney. Then again, this could be his chance to make Rodney not a total wimp around the girls of their team. So clearing up his throat, Dave carefully broke the harsh reality to Rodney. "Listen to me Rodney, I'll be loud and clear; she is NOT your girlfriend!"
"W-What? She's not?!" Rodney was on the verge of tearing up, but Dave stopped him there.
"First of all, don't just assume any girl that speaks to you is your girlfriend." explained Dave, keeping Rodney at bay, "Speak to them as you would as friends. If you want Samey to see you as a romantic partner, you first need to connect with her more deeply. Talk to her about your family or friends, or be there for her when she needs company. If you feel flustered, try to take a deep breath and control your emotions."
"I see...I guess I should slow down this dating thing until I'm ready?" squinted Rodney, trying to process everything he said.
"Correct!" Dave nodded.
"Hey guys, I'm heading out to the forest to gather more fruit," Samey came out to the balcony to spot Dave and Rodney chatting, "Who wants to come?"
"I'm pretty sure Rodney would love to come with you, Samey." Dave gave the husky guy a little push forward, whispering, "I'll leave you to it!"
On team Maskwak, Jasmine was roaming around the island for fruit to pick for her team. They already had enough at the cabin from yesterday, but she didn't mind grabbing a few extras. Amy came along, but she didn't accompany Jasmine to help her. After an unusual encounter with Dave from last night's ceremony, she needed someone to speak to. She followed behind her at a footpath preparing herself to discuss this important matter.
"So about Dave that showed up last night," she began to catch Jasmine's attention, "He's a total creep, I don't trust him."
"What makes you say that?" squinched Jasmine, keeping her eye on some ripe fruit from a tree.
In return, Amy answered, "You didn't see him last night? He was speaking about how Sugar elimination 'saves him the trouble' I believe he's planning something."
At first, Jasmine found little interest in Amy's suspicions, this is coming from the person who speaks nothing but misery for her sister. But she was going to try her hardest in the game after being in a team consisting of dimwits. Having a player who's scheming something may be trouble down the line for her, so she replied to Amy's accusations, "So you're certain there's something fishy about Dave?"
"I know so, but I don't know how to..." Before Amy could finish her sentence, her brain sparked a clever idea, "Maybe I could convince my sister to be useful for once..."
Picking a few apples from a nearby tree, Jasmine warned, "Whatever floats your boat, just don't forget we're on opposite teams anyways. If there's something up with Dave, leave it to the other team."
Inside the cabin was Max, and Leonard, who stayed inside their shelter for the time being as Shawn left to survey the island for 'zombies'. While tinkering with a few objects he snuck in to craft another one of his bright inventions, Max soon realized something he needed; a minion. He can spot him at his sleeping spot practicing his magic spells on the sidelines, "Barfo-Kabalto!" he cried.
*Confessionals*
Max: If I'm going to succeed in my plans, I need a minion at my disposal; Looks like I could use the gullible nerd on our team...
Seeing Leonard in the distance, Max gently placed his objects aside and walked over to him looking quite sorrowful, "Oh mighty wizard Leonard, I formally apologize for my rudeness last challenge. I wish we were to form an Alli- no wait! A fellowship! Against the dreadful Kinosewaks. I would only ask for your great courage and might and aid me on my quest!"
"My fellow companion, I humbly accept your apology," Leonard was quick to take his apology at heart while answering his other request. "I shall be at your side, requesting great knowledge and wisdom. On the settlement, I won't cast any curses or spell under the dark arts."
"You have my gratitude, Leonard the green..."
Returning over to team Kinosewak, they were enjoying a spread of freshly picked fruits laid out in piles on a worn-out blanket. Each of them kneeled and basked in the amazing spread one by one. Rodney especially, saying, "Look what me and my friend Samey, because we're only friends at this time, right Samey?"
With Samey sitting beside Rodney, she answered, "Yeah," while cringing up from his explanation. "But we weren't the only ones; Sky and Dave got the oranges and apples."
Sky sat right next to Dave while she enjoyed a banana in her possession, peeling it before taking a generous bite, "It's like Dave knows the entire island like the back of his head."
"Oh me?" quickly grabbing an apple from the pile, Dave casually took a bite off of it, "It's all in luck I guess."
Ella grabbed ahold of some cherries in the palm of her hands and graciously fed some to the nearby birds around her face while thanking Dave, "It's more than luck! You saved me from nearly getting disqualified for singing, thank you, Dave!"
"I'm just glad I'm on a team on a winning streak; it gives me that good reputation the higher-ups are looking for in a host!" Topher grabbing ahold of a carrot boasted in his side of the group. "What do you think, Scarlett?"
Pushing in her glasses, Scarlett answered, "I believe we must not engage too much on victory only; there are obstacles we could face that could catch us off guard." while kneeling eight beside Topher.
"Good morning miserable campers! It's a challenging time!" the loudspeakers with Chris' irritating voice cried out loud, "All butts to the meeting area in five!"
"I'm coming, Chris!" eager to see Chris, Topher came running towards the designated area in a jiffy.
"I guess I'll finish this later," grunted Sky, holding a pod of grapes in her hand and passing it onto Rodney.
The second before Sky's hands came in contact with Rodney's, he stared at Sky's magnificent face. But then he took a deep breath in and suppressed any feelings for her, he is deadset on impressing Samey, not Sky.
*Confessionals*
Rodney: Deep breaths Rodney, remember what Dave told you. I need to be strong for Samey, I need to forget about Sky...
The camera jumps cut to Chris busy inspecting his clipboard in possession, as he stood by a large crate filled with 'water' balloons piled up on each other. Topher came running to him, panting, breathless as he was about to greet his icon from behind. "Morning Chris! Pumped for today's challenge."
"Oh, good," a hint of sarcasm came from Chris' voice as he responded, "I can't tell you how little that means to me."
"Ya think I could explain the challenge to the others?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" he had enough of Topher's annoyance, and it made Chris wave his left hand at him, "That's kind of the host's job, Topher."
Chris' raised voice made Topher back up a bit, "Right, right. I'm sorry, just excited. It's like we're already winners because we got to meet Chris. The Chris McLean! Wow."
"Well said, Topher." His tone and attitude changed the second Chris heard his wonderful comments about himself.
Jasmine, squinting from the distance, was intrigued by Topher's fascination with Chris, it's almost impressive how much one person enjoys being around him.
*Confessionals*
Jasmine: I know Amy thinks Dave is a strange bugger, but Topher is a stranger. Gawking about Chris like he's some big-wig celebrity, which he technically is, but he's trying hard to even replace the guy mid-season let alone mid-challenge.
"Gather 'round, victims. Today's game is called 'Doom Balloons!'" Chris raised his tone as he announced the challenge's name.
Max smiled sinisterly, "You had me at 'doom.'"
But Topher wasn't having it as he shushed back, "Shh! Go ahead, Chris."
"You'll have ten seconds to collect a bunch of balloons that are filled with who knows what; talc, paint, itching powder, bees, spiders, and bird poop it's always a surprise!" After Chris cackled amongst his explanations, the anxious looks on the camper's face loomed on.
"Yay!" Ella was the only one genuinely excited about the said challenge, pressing her hands together, "Who doesn't love a surprise?!"
"None of you will love a surprise." Chris barked back in utter disappointment
A few giggles came from Topher as he continued, "Chris, I love the way you-"
Only to be immediately halted by the loud whistle Chris blew out. "If you're hit with any balloon contents, you're out; It doesn't matter if the balloons are thrown, dropped, launched, kicked, or sent by courier. The last player standing wins it for their team!" after finishing up, Chris blew his whistle once more, "Get your balloons, people!"
One by one, each camper urgently chatted amongst themselves as they took as many balloons as they could carry. Running towards the forest to split up as Chris mentioned. "The hunting doesn't start until you hear the air horn!"
It's only best if I stick with Scarlett, I need to make sure she trusts me...
Moving onto team Kinosewak, the seven gathered around in a circle to devise a strategy. Sky was the one who led the team with her confident splendor. "I believe it's only best to cover more ground by splitting into smaller groups," she rushed to her team with an armful of balloons in hand laying out a game plan, "I'll go with Da-"
"Scarlett!" called out Dave, running towards her side with his pile of balloons, "Do you mind if we team up for this challenge?"
"Very well," nodded Scarlett, who was quick to answer.
The moment Dave and Scarlett made their way further into the forest, Sky was left a little underwhelmed as she turned around to improvise. "O-Okay, who wants to pair up with me?"
"I-I'll join by your side!" answered Ella, but her tone didn't seem genuinely cheerful.
"Samey, will you accompany me as a friend on this challenge?!" exclaimed Rodney, sounding like a total robot from the sound of it.
"S-Sure?" she cringed.
*Confessionals*
Sky: Dave was quick to pick Scarlett to be his partner. Is he...into those kinds of girls? I'm a knowledgeable person myself- No wait, what am I saying?! I didn't join this just to meet boys, I'm here to compete!
Walking about the dense forest, Scarlett found themselves in unknown territory, their balloons in hand and ready to be thrown. He may have achieved his plan to get Scarlett by his side, but now he must act like an average teammate.
"What do you think about our team?" he nonchalantly asked her.
With a steady pair of eyes, she immediately answered. "I'd say we have an evenly. spread team composition. Unfortunately, I have deemed one person who's undeniably our weakest link. Can you guess who?"
Wow, I did not expect this from her. But yeah, I do think one of ours isn't exactly the strongest. I think I know who.
"I would say Topher?" Dave chose the spot on the culprit.
"You are an incredible guesser, Dave." she smiled. "Topher only thinks about impressing Chris than competing. He may have succeeded in his part of the previous challenge, but his motivation only lies in impressing Chris."
"I guess great minds think alike," he returned the favor by smiling at her back. "Say, you are incredibly smart for a girl your age, you must be very popular at school."
But Scarlett remained silent at his claim, not saying a word for a few seconds before coming clean. "Unfortunately, I didn't have the luxury to attend school."
"R-Really?" Dave got an interest in her truth. "Not even a private school?"
She responded shaking her head, somberly. "My parents believed expending time on extracurricular activities or friends would be a waste of valuable time for my growth. Even though they shunned the idea of me attending private schools; I was home-schooled my whole life. Excuse me, I'm not known to reveal anything about my personal life to anyone; I prefer to keep it to myself."
I didn't know about that, I thought she was always some psycho path who- wait! Think Dave! Think! This is one of her lies on me to create a false sense of security. Well, two can play at that game
"That's a bummer," he could never be so disappointed at Scarlett's past, but then he turned. "Parents shouldn't tell you what they want you to be, you have the right to make your own decisions in life. Sucks you didn't attend a normal school because I'd be one of your friends to keep you company at school."
It wasn't easy to share her personal life with another living being, but Scarlett found the moment quite soothing. "I-I appreciate your opinion," she thanked him wholeheartedly.
In a different part of the forest, Max accompanied by Leonard stopped at a rock in their path with Max kneeling to lift the rock to the side; underneath was a plethora of items Max kept in secrecy. "Unnnggghh! Surely there must be something I can build with these pieces. Something de-" but he realized who was standing next to him, so he changed attitude. "-I mean something that would give us the upper hand in this challenge."
"What do you have in mind, sir Max?" asked Leonard, seemingly interested in his plan.
"Perhaps I could tape together everything I have into one long stick, but my balloons on the end, thereby allowing me to hit people with said balloons at a safe distance!"
Grabbing onto the flute in the pile, Leonard quickly took notice of it. "Hey, that looks like a magic wand I used to slay the white dragon guarding a mystical treasure. It can shoot magical projectiles that vanquish all in its way."
"Hmm...a wand that shoots..." pondered Max with his 'brain' compiling each word Leonard said. "Perhaps I could use this 'magic wand' to shoot the balloons from people's grasp. I'll be able to get them out with the balloons in their possession! I'm a genius!"
With Samey and Rodney, they strolled along a dirt path which led them into trouble as the two had no clue whatsoever about where to head off next. "W-Where do we go next?" asked Rodney who offered to carry Samey's balloons with his. "Do we, find someone from the other team?"
"I believe the best course of action is to...stay together!" Samey responds to him, keeping a close distance from each other. "Yeah! We just need to make sure to stay close—"
A mysterious arm emerged from behind the bushes, pulling her over while covering her mouth to prevent any noise. Rodney, who had no idea of her sudden disappearance, continued his stroll. As for Samey, just when she thought she was abducted by a stranger, it turned out to be someone worse—her sister, Amy.
"Amy! What are you doi—"
But her sister covered her mouth before she could continue screaming. "Shush Samey! Be useful for once and help me do something," she whispered intensely.
Amy voluntarily let go of her sister's mouth before she replied in frustration. "What could you possibly want from me?"
A few minutes passed, and Rodney was trying to contain spilling his feelings for Samey like he was a pot of water on the brink of boiling. His heart fluttered, and his teeth clenched up. He could not be pressured so hard to confess. He quickly turned around and shouted. "Samey! I've been meaning to tell you this, but I-" he was met with fright when Samey was nowhere to be found. "Samey?! Where did you go?! Samey? Samey!"
The guy was in total panic mode, running back to see if he left Samey all alone in the woods, but he ended up blindly running into a large tree with his face splattering onto it; enough for him to come down.
Fortunately for Chris, he witnesses the whole thing displayed on a flat screen with his hands clasped together, "Heheheheeeh!" he cackled.
But from behind him came Topher, who nonchalantly appeared out of a bush to greet him. "Hey, Chris!"
"Topher? You're in the middle of a challenge, dude!" Chris shifted his attention to Topher.
Topher approached him to observe his facial features. "I know, but it's important, you gotta call in the make-up department to do something about those crow's feet." he boldly lifted his finger close to Chris' eyes.
"Crow's feet?" Chris said, sounding startled.
"Yeh. It looks like them, yeah. It looks like they were wearing cleats! What if kids start tweeting about how old you look and the network decides to replace you with a younger host?"
Chris repeated, "Replace, me?" engraving that dreadful scenario in his head as he gasped while running away from him, "Makeup!"
The second Topher grinned at the sight of Chris' obsession with making himself look good on camera, he turned his eyes to see a water balloon coming his way, "Woah!" he dropped down and concealed himself behind the bushes to avoid the balloons' impact.
From the forest depths, Jasmine groaned at the failed attempt to get Topher off guard. "Darn, too late! Next time I'll get him."
Carefully on top of the trees as Shawn, notices Jasmine traversing the forest alert. Despite her towering build, she manages to make her way through the forest stealthily. "Even with all the branches and twigs on the ground, she moves so silently...wow!" he gawked at her from atop the trees.
*Confessionals*
Shawn: Look, I don't wanna like her! Of all men who die in zombie movies die because the girl they love becomes a zombie, and when it comes time to cut her head off, they get all sentimental about it and they hesitate. When there are zombies on your tail, man, thinking is the last thing you want to do!
As Sky and Ella made their way walking together in the forest's footpath. Sky was on edge keeping her eye on any of the opposing team members that could ambush them. Ella however, didn't seem too worried as she carried a yellow balloon adorning a smiley face noticing a butterfly approaching her at shoulder level. "Hello, beautiful butterfly! You're so delicate. You should hide before our game is done.
As much as she enjoys Ella's kind and carefree nature, Sky said. "Ella, don't you think you should take these challenges seriously? We're supposed to throw these balloons at the other team?" while looking concerned for her.
"Just because my balloon is made to harm doesn't mean that it can't look adorable and constantly related to being here." Ella only replied with a melodious tone in her voice.
"But you still must throw it at them nonetheless," she cautiously told her fellow teammate. "What happens if someone were to catch us off..."
"Hey, you guys! Over here!"
The two were spooked by a strange voice calling out to them, with Sky on her guard for any dirty tricks or tactics that could be their downfall. Noticing a girl with a slightly deformed greenish face which they soon recognized as one of their teammates. "Oh, my dear! Samey! What happened to your gorgeous face?" Ella gasped at the sight of her blister-covered face.
"My sister, Amy, happened!" murmured Samey, almost tearing up from her agonizing pain. "She grabbed me suddenly and told me totally with her. After I refused, she threw a balloon filled with some poisonous substance directly at me!"
"Oh no! How terrible!" Sky came to check on her fellow teammates' despair. "Does it hurt? Maybe Chris could get Chef and..."
"It's alright, Sky..." replied Samey, carefully backing away. "I just need some space, I don't want you to get infected somehow."
The sheer display of her team in an agonizing state caused Sky's eyes to furiously light up. "How dare she does this to you, come on girls, we're going to find her and mow her down with all of our balloons!"
Just from a few feet from the girls, were Max and Leonard, who silently roamed the darkest parts of the forest to hide in the shadows. With a 'magic wand' in hand, He placed a small dart-sized projectile into one end and aimed it directly at the balloons Sky had in her hands. taking in a quick deep breath, he blew into it, shooting the dart out the other end in hopes to land directly into one of the balloons. One successful pop and the contents of the balloon spilled...or in this case...swarmed out causing Sky to run frantically away from the agitated bees.
"BEEEEES!" shrieked Sky.
"Oh dear, Sky!" Ella tried her best to run after her, but then, her balloon popped suddenly as an explosion of mustard splattered all over her face and dress. "Oh my!"
Seeing the chaos unravel made Max cackle sinisterly from the distance, "My genius plan worked generously! Mweehehehehe!" but his face squished up on the fifth cackle which almost looks like he was choking on air. "I need to work on that..."
"Shall we move forward to vanquish our next foe?" Leonard asked preparing his wand to cast a 'spell'.
"Yes, onwards!"
Going back to Scarlett and Dave, who was still on edge about anyone who'll throw balloons directly at them. But Dave was more alert, his eyes moving swiftly in all directions that could lead to an ambush. More importantly, he was waiting for someone who he'd expected to hide in plain sight, Shawn.
Dave grabbed a balloon from his right hand as he examined the trees around him. He made sure not to arouse suspicion from Scarlett when he made some remarks. "I have a feeling we aren't the only ones here..."
"Hmm?" Scarlett too looked clueless when he mentioned his suspicions. "We are in the clear of anyone around us, I don't sense-"
"Behind you!"
Warning Scarlett about a strangely shaped tree with two eyes staring at him, she reacted by instinctively ducking down as a camouflaged person suddenly appeared and raised their arm to throw a balloon at them. However, Dave acted quickly and threw the balloon first, hitting the pair of eyeballs on the tree and splattering the camouflaged person's face with green slime. It took no time before the camouflaged figure was revealed to be Shawn covered in mud to resemble tree bark.
"Aaauggh! Zombie guts!" a shriek came out of him, only to examine the substance up close. "No...it's slime! And I thought my cake-decorating skills would come in handy this time around!"
Once it was over, Scarlett stood up to see the conspiracy nut covered in slime. She turned to Dave's attention. "D-Dave! What an excellent reaction time you have."
"Yeah, I know..." he sheepishly smiled back at her. "I wouldn't want you to ruin those glasses of yours."
"Um, Y-Yes!" she hesitated to confirm his thoughts. "These are the only prescription glasses I've had for years."
As much as Dave placed a caring smile on his face, he knew that everything she said was a farce; her needing glasses, her hairdo, all of it. Nevertheless, he must gain her trust to get far in the game. "How about we proceed on the"
"Oh my! The bees are aggressive!"
The two heard a faint cry followed by multiple footsteps heading their way, it was Sky and Samey who were the unfortunate ones to be swarmed by dozens of bees zipping toward them. Despite this sudden event, Dave and Scarlett knew it was time to seek out the other team and try to remain victorious. They split off in separate directions to cover more ground as they ran opposite each other. He would've thought he somehow threw a balloon filled with bees at them, but then again, he had to think about this. Perhaps Sky grabbed the bee-filled balloons and somehow, Max still manages to use the blow-dart to pop it from her possession.
He shrugged off these theories and planned to go running off where the girls were running from hoping to see Max. But from the darker side of some bushes, Jasmine creepily approached him from the opposite end of a bush to see if she could catch him off guard. With her clever tactic, she raised her head to follow in his footsteps and track where he was heading. Soon as she figured out his footpath, she approached out of the bush and threw a fast red balloon coming his way.
The balloon splattered on his back and spilled out slippery grease remnants from the previous challenge's theme. "G-Grease!" He screamed out, keeping himself under wraps for the cameras.
Jasmine cheered for herself. "Yes! Bullseye!" pumping her fists in the process.
Scarlett was rushing to spot any targets that could be lurking in the open and trying to get the opportunity to throw one of her balloons at them. Suddenly, she was interrupted by a panicking Rodney. "Scarlett?! Have you seen Samey?! I lost her when I was walking beside her!"
What the farmer boy failed to realize is that he was covered in honey, spoiled milk, chicken feathers, and other stuff sticking to his outfit or on his face. "Rodney! you're covered in multiple substances head to toe! You didn't realize it till now?!" she exclaimed.
"Oh...I guess I never noticed..." he sulked, grabbing the only green balloon to show her. "At least I have this one!"
But unfortunately, what the two didn't know was that Max was within the shadows once more, but now laying on the ground covered in twigs with his hair. He planned to form his 'camouflage' to blend in with the environment as Leonard next to him was waving his wand, screaming. "Expelliarmus!"
Ignoring his words, Max blew into the tube again which shot a small projectile to pop Rodney's balloon, and he was ever so excited to see it explode into a white powdery substance (not that kind of substance), which covered the bewildered pair. It caused an irritating itch as they scratched their arms, legs, and backs frantically.
"Yes, my plan is coming to fruition!" said Max, manically giggling from his position. "Now Leonard, please help me up because my legs fell asleep..."
"My legs have been tranced by a sleeping spell as well!" he replied.
*Confessionals*
Scarlett: This is a predicament, if I would've stayed with Dave, this never would've happened. By my analysis, Dave is the only friend I could trust at the moment...Did I say, friend? I'm mistaken, he's a mutual ally.
With Jasmine, she was casually going through the forest with only a few balloons left in her possession, only to be interrupted by one of her teammates running. "Amy! How did your plan go?" she asked her, trying to get her attention while she ran past her.
Amy suddenly stopped in her tracks to answer her, "Oh I-I tried to ask Samey's help but she wouldn't listen to me, so I just threw a balloon straight at her face; so much for being useful to me!"
"Typical Amy, always thinking lowly of your sis." Jasmine had nothing to do but scolded her actions.
"Yeah..."
While Chris was walking along a path sporting a carefree smile, he stumbled upon Topher who was examining his face, "Wow! Good makeup job, dude. You look 20 years younger!" he aligned his thumb and index finger in the shape of a frame. "It's like your thirty again!"
"Um, I am thirty!" Chris corrected him, squinting furiously.
"Oh?! I know! Now you look at it..." Topher was struggling to keep the conversation moving. "But you could use some moisturizer!"
While Topher was distracted yet again, Chris noticed a green balloon come hurdling and took a step back. This caused the balloon to splatter onto Topher's head and out of it came a dozen spiders swarming his body. Chris was very satisfied by his misfortune. "Thank you!"
"AUUGH! SPIDERS-SPIDERS-SPIDERS!" he cried out running off the camera.
"Yes! I've learned from my mistakes on that one," grinned Jasmine, pumping her fist in victorious splendor.
Just then, Chef came walking up to Chris who whispered something to his ears, it made him look puzzled. "Wait really?! How?! Team Kinosewak just got wiped out like that?"
The news was so shocking, even Jasmine looked baffled by it; it seemed that her team's losing streak was coming to an end quicker than she expected. "Everyone! Team Maskwak surprisingly came on top, making them today's winner!" the loudspeaker roared.
The two teams regrouped back to the meeting area and starting location for the challenge. The rest of team Kinosewak all looked gloomy with their stained clothes, blistering faces, and a sense of humiliation from today's loss. The rest of team Maskwak was sharing a much-needed celebratory cheer from the sidelines. Chris moved towards the winning team to greet them happily. "Great job securing a win for one team Maskwak!
Despite having a hunch about it, Dave had to confirm as he asked Sky, "What happened back there?" with a puzzled expression.
"I don't know, we just met up with Samey who got a poisonous rash from her sister's balloon, until suddenly my balloon popped with the bees inside." she could not bear to remember that horrible experience, but she answered nonetheless.
"Samey's been poisoned?!" he turned to face Samey looking entirely orientated with her swelled-up face. "Oh..." he cringed longingly at her.
The one who broke down the most was Rodney, as he came to his knees in front of her with his face down. I-I'm so s-s-sorry Samey! I left y-y-you in the woods!" he sobbed.
"It's alright," She was comforting him by patting his shoulders, "Blame it on Amy!" she pointed her finger straight toward her twin.
Topher came butting in their conversation. "Come on, people! Way to screw it up for our team, and to think we were on a winning streak!" he scolded.
"What have you been doing? Sucking up to Chris all day?!" a cold stare came from Sky as she scolded back. "You didn't even grab a single balloon."
"Yeah, I did!" Topher grabbed a yellow balloon from the palm of my hand, "See! I held this one!"
"That wasn't the point Topher..." Scarlett continued the argument, "While we split up to hunt the other team, you just stood around Chris taking advantage of his wavering adolescents."
"I'M ONLY THIRTY!" yelled Chris from the distance, proceeding on revealing today's reward by showcasing a white bag from Chef's hand. "Tonight's winners get to enjoy dinner from Mary's lamb burgers. That's Mary's lamb burger and barbeque emporium; 'Mary hand a little lamb hehehehe had."
As Chef moved over to team Maskwak, Jasmine grabbed the greasy bag in awe. "We're eating good tonight people!"
"Tonight, we shall feast upon the fire and tell our victorious tales!" cheered Leonard, expecting a few companions to cheer along to no avail.
As the rest of team Maskwak returned to their shelter to enjoy a scrumptious meal, it left team Kinosewak a tad jealous of their sudden victory. Chris approached them slowly as he covered his nostrils from the stench they were radiating off. "Now, think long and hard team Kinosewak as it's going to be your first elimination ceremony tonight. But first, clean up that stench of yours will ya?!"
I can't believe we've lost our first challenge, but not to worry. I've still got more chances on the line...for now, I'll just have to vote on a particular person who underperformed in today's challenge.
Night fell, and each member of team Kinosewak sat at different spots, still a bit dinged up from the stains and stench on their clothes. Dave did the best he could to clean up his grease-covered body and clothes, but he did have help from Scarlett creating some detergent alternatives. Chris walked up in front of them along with Chef carrying the plate of marshmallows to pass onto Chris.
*Confessionals*
Sky: I have an idea who might get the boot...
Ella: I hope this doesn't hurt his feelings...
Rodney: I should go! I'm not worthy to be a boyfriend to Samey!
"Your first elimination ceremony team Kinosewak, hopefully, you'll keep it that way," Chris' tone shifted dramatically as he grabbed the first marshmallow. "The first one safe is Dave!"
He was relieved to be the first safe as he caught his marshmallow mid-throw, but he had trouble with the next few safe people since he had a few people in mind who could be going up for elimination. Rodney is a candidate as he didn't do much, and Ella is as well.
"The others who are safe are...Sky, Rodney, and Samey!"
Each of them caught theirs similar to Dave, except for Samey's, who stood still as if she didn't respond to her name. "Earth to Samey?" repeated Chris, snapping his fingers.
Samey noticed her marshmallow plopped to the ground as she failed to catch hers on time. "Oh...yeah!"
He cringed back, "O...kay, that leaves off Topher and Ella!" grabbing the last marshmallow on the plate, he saw the remaining two campers without one shaking nervously. "The one who's leaving the island tonight is...

Topher!"
"W-What?!" gasped Topher, standing up from his seat. "I don't understand, why am I up to elimination!"
The person to answer him was none other than Dave, who gave him the low down from his seat. "Let's face it Topher, you never cared about the whole game to begin with. Always Chris this or Chris that!"
"But come on! I was a help too!" friskily thought of something he did on the spot. "Like the last challenge where I ziplined!"
"Sorry, but the votes were anonymous, well 6:1 since Rodney voted for himself," explained Chris. "While I'll miss a delighted fan of mine, your time on the island is up."
The moment Chef was about to pick up the frightened boy, Topher quickly came up with a comprise as he wave his hands attempting to stop him. "No wait! Please! Let's talk about this! I want to be around Chris! Just make me do anything, I swear! Ooo! I can be an intern, give him some cosmetology tips, and help you attract the younger audience! Just please, don't shoot me out of the cannon!"
But as Chef grabbed him by the arms and hoist him up, Chris gave him a gesturing hand signal last second. "Hang on, Chef. The kid is onto something here..."
A loud groan later, Chef dropped Topher to the ground and walked away. As he got up and patted himself clean, he stood silently to await Chris' decision. "I promise! I'll do anything to help the most stunning reality hosts and one of the 20 top handsome celebrities."
"Alright, here's my decision; Topher is still out of the game, but he will now be my sla- I mean...intern!" Chris announced to the group sitting at the elimination ceremony.
"What?! He can't do that!" said Samey, scratching the part of her face that wasn't blistering. "Can he do that?"
Chris crossed his arms, "Of course I can, it's my show!" replying to Samey's question. "Now go to sleep all of you, me and my assistant will be discussing something, such as his new uniform!"
"Uniform?" Topher raised his brow. "You didn't mention uniform!"
"Yeah-yeah! Chef, take him away!" Chris swept his hands in a gesturing motion to get Topher away from the cameras, which zoomed on his face. "Looks like team Kinosewak's winning streak has been broken, but what other twists and turns will partake in the next challenge? Tune in next time on Total...Drama...Pahkitew Island..."
