Hay all. Here is the next chapter. First I'd like to thank aajani for following, and phantom bard and kehlan both for reviewing.

I don't own anyone...yet...they all belong t Tolkien.

I don't think there are any warnings in this chapter. So now onto the story. Hope you enjoy.

After Mithrandir had shown Faramir his room, he led him to another room, and left him just out side of the door. Faramir, curious as to what was in the room, slowly entered, scanning the room he saw a man sitting in the corner, in the shadows. He nodded to the man, then stepped further in, abruptly stopping his eyes on a pedestal. He quickly and quietly walked towards the stand, but stopped several feet away, looking in awe at the object that was resting on it. The sword of Elendil. Faramir took a deep breath, and suddenly he was in a vision.

He was in Minas Tirith, and the sun was shining. He looked towards the white tree, and to his amazement it was flowering, he turned and saw a large crowd, bowing to someone. He looked hard, straining his eyes, but he couldn't see who everyone was bowing to. It wasn't that it was too far away, but that the face was blurred.

Abruptly he opened his eyes, and saw that he was back in front of Elendil' s sword, being held up by the stranger in the corner. Faramir jerked away, embarrassed, then turned to look at his helper. The man was tall, and had dark hair, that reached to his shoulders, and there was a wisdom in his eyes, much like that of Elrond. The stranger seemed vaguely familiar to him, but Faramir was sure he had never seen him before. Faramir watched him, sensing a goodness in him, also much like Elrond. The man looked at him in concern

"Are you well?"

Faramir nodded, blushing slightly, "Yes My Lord. Just a moment of... disorientation. My apologies for disturbing you."

The stranger nodded, but Faramir could see him still searching his face, so he made it blank. The man smiled slightly and nodded, "No need to call me a Lord. Aragorn is my name."

Faramir inclined his head, fist on his heart "Well met, Lord Aragorn. Faramir is mine." He turned to leave "If you would excuse me, I have travelled far, and need a rest." Aragorn nodded, stepping away

"I can come by your rooms on the morrow, there is a counsel that Elrond has called."

Faramir inclined his head again "If it pleases you."

Aragorn watched as Faramir, rubbing his head, slipped out of the room. He turned as a voice came from the back of the room

"So. What do you think of Faramir, son of Denethor?"

Aragorn watched as Elrond came from the shadows, looking at the door where Faramir had disappeared from. Aragorn shrugged, sighing,

"I didn't get much time to observe him before he came under the..." he hesitated looking at Elrond "Vision?"

Elrond nodded "At least as far as I gathered from what he was tell me. I haven't had time to question Mithrandir yet."

Aragorn looked deep in thought, his brows creased, he looked to Elrond who spoke up

"He's very polite, and he seems to be very observant as well. He saw you right away."

"He didn't see you."

The Lord of the house smiled slightly "I'm a elf. Besides, he was engrossed in the Sword before he could scan the side of the room I was in."

Aragorn lifted a brow, "I see."

The elf went on "He also was able to tell that Erestor was following him. Before Erestor was trying to shew himself."

The other brow lifted "I'm impressed now. I've only been able to do that a few times." He looked to Elrond closely "But you seem to trust him fully. You usually are one of the last people to come to trust anyone who can be a threat to my claim of the throne."

Elrond nodded, keeping silent, thinking over what to tell Aragorn. "Yes... He told me something, that could be very bad for Frodo, but the fact that he told me... I believe that he is trustworthy."

The human scowled "Did Denethor tell him to bring him the ring?"

Elrond's gaze became stern "Yes. But Faramir told me, and he knew it is evil, even before seeing it. I have no doubt that he will not take it. He fears his father if it comes into his hands."

Aragorn's face lightened "I think, from what you've told me, that you are right." He smirked "You'll have less successes with Legolas though."

The next morning, Faramir woke from a restless sleep. It had been a while since he had any dreams, visions, or normal, and this night, he had both. He got dressed quickly, and left the room, hoping that Aragorn had decided to not bring him to the counsel. He wanted to get their early, and watch each person as they went in. He wandered around for a bit, till he came to a spot outside, where there were stone chairs set up around a pedestal.

Faramir found a spot that was out of the way, and sat down to watch. Soon Elrond, Mithrandir, and two elves, who looked alike, came towards the seating. The two strainge elves, watched him curiusly as they came up. Mithrandir smiled at Faramir

"Good Morrow Faramir. I would like you to meet Elladan, and Elrohir, Elrond's twin sons." He turned to them "I would like you to meet my friend Faramir."

Faramir inclined his head in greeting, watching as they nudged each other, whispering. Obviously Mithrandir had told them a bit about him. He watched in amusement as the twins nudging became a strong poking match, and Elrond glared at them in mock anger

"Calm down, or you won't be in the counsel."

The elves, and Mithrandir moved off, towards the seats, and Faramir resumed his watching. He saw Dwarves, one older, and the other obviously the older ones son. He watched as they greeted five strange folk, they weren't children, but they were small like children, and their feet were bare and hairy. The two dwarves, and two of the strange child like persons continued on to the chairs, while the three other folk looked around discreetly. Suddenly one of them, the younger looking one nudged the others, pointing towards Faramir's hiding spot.

When they reached Faramir, they stood directly in fount of him, and the one who had pointed him out bowed

"Hello. Who are you?"

Faramir inclined his head "I am called Faramir. And you...?"

The figure flushed "Oh! I had assumed that you knew us. Every one here does. It's a relief to be able to introduce my self popper." He bowed again "My name is Peregrine Took. But you can call me Pippin, all my friends do." he motioned to the others "This is Meriadoc Brandybuck, but you can call him Merry, and this is Samwise Gamgee, or Sam." the figures in turn bowed, and Sam nodded

"How do you do sir?"

Faramir stared at them "Well met. But... what are you?"

Pippin grinned "Hobbits. Well that's what we call ourselves, but every one else calls us Halflings."

The man's eyes opened wide before he mastered himself "I like Hobbits. I think if you call your selves something then that is what others should call you."

Merry grinned as well "That's exactly what we've said to our selves!" he looked around conspiratorially "Do you think we might join you in this spot? You see, our friend is in the counsel, but we weren't invited. And we plan to be with him what ever they decide, so it's really no use to keep it from us." The Hobbits looked up at Faramir with hopeful eyes, and he laughed and got up

"Here, you can take the spot. It's time I got to the counsel my self." He watched as Aragorn, and another elf, this one blond, move to the chairs. The Hobbits grinned, and settled them selves, and Faramir made his way to the circle of chairs as well. He looked at the blond elf, as he settled, the elf stared back at him with hostility, but Faramir could tell that it wasn't evil hostility. He looked away, it may not be evil, but it was hostility.

Hope you enjoyed. Untill next time.
