I've hade writers block, and where i am living, its been VERY hot! some days were in the 40c range ( 104 f ) I'd like to thank christmas95 for reviewing and following , and blueoctober and darkkosmaster for following. Sorry this chapter is short, but i got it written, and i wanted to put something up for everyone.

Faramir waited till all the others, who had been at the counsel, had left, then went to Elrond. The elf noting his unease, motioned him to follow, and led him to a bench, overlooking the water falls. After they had sat, Faramir turned to Elrond

"My Lord Elrond..." he hesitated, fiddling with the front of his shirt, "Do you not fear to send me with the ring?"

Elrond looked at the young man, and smiled "Nay, I do not fear. Because I have seen your reaction to it. You have the ability to completely refuse it. It may tempt you, but you know of evil, and what it can do, and I have seen that you have the same reaction to it as the elves."

Faramir looked down, "But-"

Elrond shook his head "Listen to me. I have no doubt that you will stay strong." He looked hard at Faramir, "What I am worried about is your health if you go. The way you reacted to the ring causes me to worry about what would happen if you are in close proximity with it for a long time."

The human rubbed his arm, smiling a humourless smile "It is worse when I see it. And I won't let the darkness I feel to overwhelm me."

The Lord of the house nodded, watching as Legolas walked up to them. Elrond got up, and after greeting Legolas, he moved off. After he was out of sight of the elf and human, he doubled back, staying out of sight. As he came into sight of the two, he saw that Legolas was standing glaring at Faramir, who was also standing, leaning against a tree. Elrond was surprised that the human could sand the gaze of the irate elf, but as he thought back to Faramir, looking him in the eyes, he was more surprised that the elf didn't wither under Faramir's gaze.

Elrond moved closer, watching as Legolas took a step forward, "What do you mean to do to Aragorn? Kill him?"

Faramir shook his head, lifting his hands in a sign of peace "I have no intention of harming the King."

The elf let out a unseemly snort, "How am I to believe that? You are the son of the steward of Gondor. If Aragorn comes to sit on the throne, then your family will be displaced. You're telling me that you would let that happen with out a fight?"

Elrond watched as Faramir shifted, looking down. "I don't expect you to believe it, but it is true. I have no desire for the throne of Gondor. It is not my place, nor is it the place of my father or brother, even if they think it is."

Legolas clenched his jaw, and blew out a breath, "Look. I'll stay away from you, you stay away from Aragorn, and all will be well." He brushed past Faramir, and moved off, leaving Faramir standing by himself.

Hope you enjoyed. I think there will be one more chapter where they are in Rivendell, then they get to start the trip! Have a good day/afternoon/evening.
