CHAPTER 8

When Sarah stopped for the night, she found a big flatter spot off to the side of the trail next to a cave. She strung her rope around two large rocks and tethered the horses by tying their reins to the rope. She wished for a trough and a bale of hay for them. Sarah wished the cave bug and critter free. She went in and it would shelter her and her two horses. She set up camp and took all the bags and saddlebags off of the horses outside and put them next to the fire. The tents and blankets she wished away to people who deserved them.

Sarah made dinner and explored the cave. She came back and sat by the fire and started going through everything one bag at a time. They had ten bags of coins, five purses, nine bags of jewelry, five jewelry boxes, ten jeweled daggers, five gold and silver pocket watches, four small bags of gemstones and 4 small bags of gold nuggets. The rest were five longswords, five hunting knives, three boot knives, and three pairs of boots. Sarah wished away the boots to people who needed a pair of boots. She counted all of the money and had 3,567 in gold, 1,423 in silver, 28 copper. Sarah added it to her necklace.

Sarah had way too much on her body. She wished for all the cut gems, gold nuggets, 9 bags of jewelry, and pocket watches that would fit in her necklace. She then pulled out all of the jewelry boxes from before and now, there were eleven. Sarah pulled out her own also. She wished for all jewelry that would fit into the necklace from the boxes. It took the majority. Sarah condensed it down to the second biggest jewelry box which she kept. It was pretty much just the weapons, one jewelry box and jeweled daggers she was carrying on her the rest fit all in her necklace. She was seriously going to have to liquidate what was in there to coin. Dumping an entire mine out of gold ore, silver ore, nuggets and dust will take a long time to do. In the meantime she would leave it where it is.

Sarah took four saddlebags and put them back on the horses outside. She added the one saddle bag to her belongings. She wished away the ten jewelry boxes to little girl's who deserve them. Sarah laid down with her wolf and fell asleep.

—--day 24

Sarah woke up the next morning with her wolf snuggled up to her and her hand resting on him. She pet his head and he opened his eyes looking at her sleepily. She smiled and said,"Good morning, sweet boy." His tail started thumping on the ground. Sarah sat up and Beowulf stretched and went outside to pee. She followed after putting her boots on. She made breakfast for everyone. Sarah boiled enough water to make tea and oatmeal with fruit, nuts and sugar. When everyone was done Sarah packed up everything and tied the horses one to another, as it made it slow going down the mountain. Once towards the base she found another cave to stay in for the night then it was a straight shot to the city of Ubhsicín (chicken egg).

—--day 25

After her third night in a cave, Sarah was ready for plumbing once again. She packed up everything and rode all the way to the city, dropping off two of the five horses to a farmer. She sold the last three horses and all of the swords and knives to the blacksmith at the first stable she came to for forty gold. Sarah rode on until she spotted a nice looking inn and a stable across the street. She went in and got a room for a week, after explaining her wolf while everyone just gawked at her.

She wished the room secured until she removed her baggage and any hidden valuables stashed in the inn to appear at her feet except if it's the owners, patrons or employees property. A large pile of boxes and bags appeared at her feet. Sarah thought, 'Wow, what's with people hiding stuff over probably centuries here and leaving it behind.' She locked the door and went and boarded Dathúil and Àlainn.

She went back to the inn and asked for two dinners and two wines on a tray. Sarah took it up to the room and locked up placing a shirt hung on the doorknob. There was no chair but a small loveseat in front of the fireplace. She took off her weapons belt and cloak hanging them on a peg by the door. She sat on the bed and unclipped Beowulf's leash. Sarah put his food on the floor. If he wanted more she would give him his meat.

When Sarah was done eating she started going through the pile of items from the stashes. There were six old beautiful jewelry boxes, fifteen bags of coins, a large bag of cut gemstones, fourteen large bags of gold nuggets and seven bags of silver nuggets. Sarah sighed. She knew she was going to spend all of her week getting rid of jewelry; there was no telling how much she had in her locket. She picked out what she wanted to keep from the old beautiful jewelry in the jewelry boxes from brooches to rings. There was a very powerful ring that had a large dendritic opal and Celtic scrollwork and runes everywhere like her longsword. Sarah pulled all of the jewelry out of her necklace incrementally to sift through it all for magical items. She pulled about twenty seven pieces out that were 8 rings, 4 bracelets, 2 ear cuffs, 4 silver charms and 9 necklaces. She had no idea what the opal ring did but she knew it was the most powerful one there. Sarah put it on her finger and kept it for herself and put all of the other magical items in her jewelry box. She was keeping all of it until she could get them identified. She divided up the expensive, mid-range and chains. It was quite a daunting task and she stopped to take a bath and get ready for bed Sarah took out all of her bags and started dividing up thirty bags of mixed jewelry and that wasn't even half of what she had. She bagged up the rest of the jewelry by category and placed them on the opposite side of the room out of sight on the other side of the bed. She tied the thirty bags together with a lacing and sat them next to the others and got in bed.

—--day 31

During the entire week, Sarah posed as six different men and women to ten jewelers throughout the city and sold all of the jewelry. She collected from all of the jewelry, and 25 jeweled daggers. Sarah kept the two top best in her boots. She took in 62,951 gold for the jewelry and daggers. Her necklace had 255,951 gold in it. Sarah was blown away at a quarter million and that isn't even getting into the mine's materials. Sarah spent the last day shopping at the bakery and market stocking up her supplies as people stared at her and her black wolf shadow. They went back to the room and Sarah repacked her food and got everything settled. The next leg in the journey to the Labyrinth was four more towns and the last one on top of another mountain where she was told dwarves and fae run that town and. Sarah packed up everything and was ready for the morning trek of two days to camp one night. Sarah got to bed that night and couldn't believe she was getting closer to the Goblin City to see her friends. She went to sleep comfortably.

—--day 33

The last morning in the city of Ubhsicín, Sarah went down for breakfast and said good morning to several regular patrons and to Qwinn the innkeeper. She had got to know some of the people there in the inn. They were off-standish at first but found out soon enough that she was friendly and her wolf was no threat. She said her goodbyes and they wished her well as she turned in her key and went to the stables. She headed out to the town of Cossicín (chicken foot).

Once on the road for a few hours, Sarah saw a group of eight men on horseback in the treeline ahead. She wondered what they were up to and why not come out in the open if not a threat? They stayed in the darkness. Sarah wished, "I 'wish' that all the men who mean me harm in the woods ahead of me, their horses would come out towards me and have their hands bound behind their backs. Twenty men came out into the road away from the treeline. Sarah thought, 'Holy shit, twenty of them at least. That's a lot of stuff and horses to get rid of.'

The men were all raising hell as she came into hearing range. She shouted, "Hey! You fucking idiots listen up! If you weren't going to rob, rape or kill me you wouldn't be bound and out in the open right now. Don't say shit that makes me angrier than I already am, or your ass will be in a more dire situation than now!" The cursing loudly stopped to a low muttering.

Sarah rode up and whispered, "I 'wish' they all would get off their horses and have all their magic taken from them and not be able to commit a crime ever again." The twenty fae screamed as they felt the magic leave their bodies. Some started to snivel and cry.

Sarah said out loud, "I 'wish' for all of these fae men's ill-gotten valuables and all weapons to be placed in the middle of the road inside bags filled and tied closed." Items came from everywhere even from the woods in streams. Sarah thought, 'They must have had a cave or bunker in there somewhere filled with stuff. I'm gonna need some of their horses to carry this much away from here before I can get things in my necklace and condense this much.'

Sarah dismounted and started rounding up the bags and bags of booty the highwaymen collected. She took one of their horses and packed it up and loaded three more. She made them stand there and watch her pack up all their treasure and belongings and witness the loss. Sarah connected each horse to the back of each other and to the back of Àlainn. There were eight horses loaded and how the hell she was going to sift through it all in a night she had no idea. She tied it down with blankets tied over and the stuff bundled up.

She said, "I 'wish' all of these men, only their clothes, twelve horses and ten gold in each of their pockets were sent to the city of Gorias." They all disappeared with their twelve empty horses.

Sarah took her train of horses into the woods and found the cavern and bunker dug into the ground. She looked inside each of them and found three human women tied up. She completely untied them and took down her hood so the women could see she was female.

Sarah said, "My name is Haras. I stopped them from hurting anyone anymore. They have gone far away. Let me help you?"

There was a redhead, blonde and brunette. The redheaded woman came forward and said, "They be havin' us under a enamour spell tha fae 'ave. Can ye just release me from it an gimme some a tha rat bastard's money will be doin' me fine, ta go find me a life." The other women agreed. Sarah liked this red haired human woman.

Sarah said, "I 'wish' to have all three of these women released from this enamour spell the fae men had on them." Sarah went and got six bags of gold and they came out of the bunker. Sarah put a bag of gold on each side of a large set of saddlebags and had wished for three horses back from the same men with blankets and cloaks for the women. They all mounted up and thanked her and were going back to the city of Ubhsicín.

Sarah searched everything in the bunker and cavern and was sure nothing else was amiss and left with her horses to a large set of woods. She made an encampment in thick woods after traveling through them for six hours. She secured a perimeter for her and the horses, only allowing herself and Beowulf to come and go. Sarah made a fire and got the horses tethered with two troughs and a couple bales of hay.

Sarah made dinner and Beowulf hunted for his dinner bringing it to the camp to eat off to the side. Sarah brought up one horse at a time and sat the stuff in the tent going through things. These fae thieves had it down pat evidently. They had accumulated after Sarah wished it all to be added into her necklace: 50,783 gold, 22,549 silver and 2,512 copper coins. Her necklace was up to 305,808 gold, 47,046 silver, and 3,075 copper coins. Sarah was blown away by the next discovery. She had 45 bags of jewelry, 25 large bags of gold nuggets, 17 bags of silver nuggets, 15 medium sized bags of cut gemstones, 25 bags of gold ore, 12 bags of silver ore, 6 bags of gold dust and 2 bags of silver dust. There were 37 jeweled daggers, 18 longswords, 10 short swords, 6 regular daggers, 15 bow and quivers, 27 hunting knives. There were four potato size burlap sacks of gold and silver goblets, plates, candlesticks, cutlery, clocks, trinkets and ect. Sarah was in total shock.

Sarah had all of the gold and silver nuggets, dust, and ore broken down with cut gemstones put into the necklace. After the 45 bags of jewelry that fit was reduced down to two bags it was much more manageable. Sarah was getting tired of so much jewelry to get rid of and she kept getting more and more of it.

She was looking at the loot and wished that each item be reduced down to small size bars that would fit in her necklace of gold or silver in the sacks. The sacks instantly shrank down. Sarah looked inside to see all the items in little gold and silver bars that were melted down. She put them in her necklace.

She was up late but all of her reduction freed up the eight horses. Sarah had fed them all apples and carrots one by one after her own horses. Sarah went to bed and slept hard.
