Chapter 4,
"And you boys will be sleeping here." Marianne said, leading Tom and Jerry into a guest bedroom. The room had a television, radio, a dresser, a window, and two beds. One large enough for Tom, and the other small enough for Jerry. The little mouse ran over to the large bed and jumped on it. He smiled at Tom and blinked at him with large eyelashes. Tom was unphased by this behavior, and he flicked Jerry off of his pillow and made him land on his own bed. Jerry gave Tom a quick glare, then rolled his eyes at the cat before he got his luggage situated.
"My oh my, you two are simply just precious." Marianne said.
"H-h-honey? Do you still need me to drop off those decorations at Amanda's house? Or did she pick them up when she stop-p-ped by?" George hollered up at them.
"Oh! Ooohhh I'm sorry. Sweetie I forgot, I'm sorry." Marianne said and you could hear George chuckling downstairs.
"No worries dear. Tom, would you like to come with me? I could show you around a little." George said. Tom hopped off of his bad and went down the steps. There was a little conversation, and then they left. Now it was only Marianne and Jerry. Marianne looked at the other mouse, and chuckled slightly.
"You look annoyed, Jerry. I'm guessing no one told you that I was a mouse." Marianne said, and Jerry nodded slowly.
"The two biggest reasons to be so annoyed with me, are if you disagree with a cat and a mouse being married, or... I'll say 'option two'. Do you have a problem with me marrying a cat?" Marianne asked and Jerry looked her up and down before shaking his head.
"I thought not. While so many people object, saying it's against nature or even bringing up that moronic Brother's Grimm story 'The Cat Who Marries A Mouse'. I didn't think you would be that objecting." Marianne said. She walked over and sat on the bed with Jerry.
"Although that does mean that you're suffering from option 2, doesn't it?" Marianne said. Jerry crossed his arms over his chest and stared at her, though Marianne was unphased.
"Option 2 is that you're, in your own way, jealous of the fact that I get to have sex with my cat, and you can't have sex with yours." Marianne said and Jerry's whole body turned red. Instantly he started shaking his head and waving his hands in an X-like motion. Marianne chuckled at the boy sweetly.
"Deny it if you'd like. But if I am right, I can tell you a secret that could have Tom bed you tonight." Marianne said and Jerry's eyes leaped out of his head, and replaced with eyes of Tom wearing an expensive robe, and stroking his tail playfully. Jerry blinked, and he turned his gaze away from Marianne. He felt bashful and ashamed at what he wanted. Marianne put her hand on Jerry's shoulder.
"It's ok if you're not quite ready to do anything with Tom right now. But if you think that maybe, one day, you might want to be intimate with Tom, then you should know this... Would you like to know what my husband and I did?" Marianne asked. Jerry glared at her, and while he was still bashful about the whole thing, he went ahead and nodded.
"Alright. As you already know, rats and mice can breed very quickly. Sometimes even having 10 litters a year. We are basically as frisky as rabbits." Marianne said, and Jerry offered a small smile, relaxing a little.
"Now the real problem is cats. You see a female cat goes through a heat cycle- which is pretty standard. Male cats do not have a heat cycle though." Marianne said and Jerry blinked at this new information.
"It's true. You see male cats can only get erections when they are around a female cat in heat." Marianne paused and walked over to the dresser, and pulled out a perfume bottle.
"This bottle contains a smell similar to a female cat in heat. You just spray your backside, and Tom will take care of the rest." Marianne said, handing Jerry the bottle. For a while Jerry could only stare at the bottle. All this time, all the fights, and love, and jealousy they've felt, it was a scent that kept them from crossing that line.
"I should caution you though, before you use it. First, make sure all the windows and doors are shut and locked. Since this scent is created scientifically, it's a bit more concentrated, and some other cats may try to break in." Marianne said. Other cats? Who cares about other cats? Jerry felt this unusual desire to dump the whole bottle unto his body and let Tom embrace his natural desires.
"Also, you don't want to use too much. The more you sue, the more Tom can't control himself, and you shouldn't go overboard until you know you can handle it." Marianne said. 'Handle it'? He and Tom have done every prank in the world to each other. Hit, cut, shaved, cooked, exploded; there was no way Tom could be more brutal to him in bed, than an average week day. Jerry crossed his arms, insulted.
"I'm just trying to look out for you, Jerry. I love George, but it's not easy to prepare yourself for those cat spikes." Marianne said, and Jerry looked at her.
"It took me a while to get use to those thorns, but..." Marianne blushed and giggled.
"Anyways. The last thing you should know is that this spray takes effect very quickly. As soon as he smells you, he'll try to sleep with you. So only use it when you are in the mood. Not a lot of time for foreplay with this baby." Marianne said and Jerry stared at the bottle. It was strange to think, that little bottle was the answer to all his prayers.
"I don't use this stuff very often anymore. George is starting to adapt to my own heat cycle. Thank God too, since female rats have a heat cycle every 4 or 5 days, this stuff was getting rather expensive. But I went ahead and purchased this bottle for you and Tom." Marianne said and Jerry reached over and held the bottle.
"Consider it a gift for helping my husband to get over his fear of mice. Our marriage never would have been possible if it wasn't for you." Marianne said before she gently hugged Jerry.
Across town, Tom and George delivered the decorations and George was pointing out some of the best restaurants that he and Jerry must try while they were there. Best fish, blah, blah blah. Best cheese, blah, blah, blah. Best turkey, blah, blah, blah. Tom couldn't focus on any of it. Finally he put his hand over George's mouth to shut him up. Then he went over to this bench and rubbed his aching head.
"What's wrong T-Tom?" George asked and Tom glared, before pointing at him.
"Me? What's wrong with me?" George asked as he sat next to his cousin.
"D-does my stutter bother you?" George asked and Tom shook his head.
"Ok, well, does my hat bother ya?" George asked and Tom shook his head.
"Then i-it's Marianne that bothers you." George said and Tom nodded.
"You think that a cat and a mouse shouldn't be together." George said and Tom nodded.
"And you're a little jealous because deep down you know that you love Jerry, and you'd like to marry him." George said. At first Tom nodded, but froze when he realized what he said, and then shook his head violently.
"D-don't lie Tom. You love Jerry. The only reason you two aren't together is because you think it's impossible for a cat to be with a mouse. Well I gotta tell you Tom, it's not impossible." George said and Tom blushed before turning his back to George.
"Be honest Tom. If you and Jerry both love each other, then you should be together." George said and Tom glanced at him.
"What is it? What is the biggest fear you have about dating Jerry?" George asked, and Tom sighed. He turned his back to George and pretended to be making out with someone. Then snapped back and roughly whipped his finger across his throat.
"I see. You're afraid that being intimate with Jerry, might k-kill him." George said and Tom got really sad and looked down.
"Oh Tom." George said, putting his hand on Tom's shoulder.
"You're my cousin and I love you. But maybe you should talk to Jerry... or... at least however it is you too communicate. I-I think that Jerry might surprise you. And if you're really worried a-about Jerry, then maybe you two should take it slow. After all, n-no one is saying you have to hook up tonight." George said and Tom chuckled softly.
"Now, how about we s-stop by that ice cream stand. Marianne loves ice cream and I'm betting Jerry likes ice cream too." George said and Tom nodded.
"F-fantastic. Ice cream all around." George said. He and Tom stood up and walked together. They may not agree on much, but it was nice to relax with an ice cream or two.
