Tsukauchi arrived on site to see Aizawa standing in the streets. A criminal was sitting tangled up in Aizawa's capture scarf. Next to the hero was a woman who had her clothes torn and wild eyes. Traumatized from whatever happened to her. It was a miracle that Aizawa had even caught the criminal on this side of town. South Side Musutafu wasn't known for having heroes patrolling it. In fact most heroes avoided the area in favor of the better sides of town. Even some of Naomasa's officers refused to come to this side of town. If they did that in his hearing he would suspend them without pay. That usually taught them to be careful about their words.

Naomasa stopped his car a few fight ahead of the group. When he stepped out of the car and took in the scents he nearly gagged. A rancid smell permeated the air nearly blocking out the faintest scent of blood. A quick look told him Aizawa was fine and the woman while had torn clothes she was not injured. So that left the criminal.

Sure enough the criminal had several slash marks down the criminals forearm. He was bleeding but it wasn't a severe amount. Some antibiotics and painkillers and he would be fine.

Still Naomasa called out into his radio, "Dispatch."

A female dispatcher came through and said, "Dispatch here. Go ahead, detective."

"I will be taking one male into custody and will need Musutafu General to check him out. Four slash marks down right forearm."

"Copy that, detective," she replied, "I'll have a nurse waiting for you at Musutafu General."

"Tsukauchi out," he said and replaced the radio on his belt then turned his attention to Aizawa, "Good on you for catching this guy. What happened to him? Looks an animal got him in the arm?"

The criminal cried, "A monster! It looked like a kid but he attacked like a monster."

Truth.

A monster? He looked at Aizawa who shook his head. Probably a kid with a mutation quirk then.

The woman whispered not looking at the detective or hero, "He couldn't have been older than fourteen or fifteen. If he hadn't jumped in I wouldn't have been able to alert the hero. He had animal ears and a tail. I couldn't tell what color they were though."

Truth.

Aizawa confirmed, "I saw him as well. It had to be a mutation quirk since mine didn't work on it."

Truth.

Naomasa rubbed at his eyes tiredly. Great. He really hoped this person was just a Good Samaritan. Naomasa really didn't want to deal with a vigilante. It had only been five years since the last one and what a headache that one had been. He would ask Aizawa about him later first things first take care of these two.

Aizawa took the woman's statement while Naomasa took the criminal to the hospital. Half an hour later the criminal had two dozen stitches and was handed off to Sansa. According to the doctor the wounds were clean and even. Like they were made by perfect claws. They couldn't tell him what kind of animal could have made them. So that lead was tossed. It would make searching the quirk records a useless venture.

Outside he found Aizawa waiting on him. The hero was staring at the sky in with a frown on his face. The scent of rain was on the air but there wasn't anything particularly interesting there. What made the hero frown like that?

Aizawa seemed to shake himself from whatever caught his attention. He asked, "You free?"

With a raised eyebrow Naomasa said, "Sure. What's up?"

Aizawa shook his head and said, "Not here."

...

In Naomasa's apartment both men nursed a glass of whiskey. The burn of the whiskey kept him alert as Aizawa swirled it. The hero was deep in thought and Naomasa had to wonder what that was about. If it was about the Good Samaritan he wouldn't be so deep in thought about it. This wasn't the first nor would it be the last time they had someone like this.

Finally Aizawa said, "I don't think that person was a teenager. Or at the very least not a normal one."

Naomasa couldn't help but snort, "What do you mean by that?"

Aizawa gave him a sharp look as replied, "The kid's eyes. They were feral like I was looking into the eyes of a wild animal. Feral but with intelligence. I only saw him for a moment but I could tell, Tsukauchi. There is something different about this kid."

Truth.

Naomasa hummed and took another sip of his whiskey. He trusted Aizawa's gut. It had saved him many times in their work together. But this? He was saying a kid was feral like an animal. He expected better from the hero when it came to mutation quirks.

"Don't give me that look," growled Aizawa, "I know how that statement looks Tsukauchi. But you didn't see him. Those eyes that turned from green to amber and a curiosity of a predator looking at its prey."

Truth.

"Hopefully this will be the only encounter then," Naomasa replied as he threw back the rest of his whiskey before pouring another fingers worth, "Even if he is feral it will probably be the last time we see him. Vigilantes are a rare breed especially in Musutafu. It's too close to UA. We haven't had a significant vigilante since Koichi went straight."

"Is he still dating your sister?" Teased Aizawa with a knowing smile.

Naomasa shuddered as he said, "He is. They are in America right now. Something about meeting a hero. I don't want to know, honestly."

Silently Aizawa began laughing at him. Naomasa flipped him off as he finished his drink again.
