Nat woke up the following morning. She had used the toy until the batteries died and she was forced to change her sheets from the sweat and her juices. She decided she would go to the gym. Maybe a good workout would help her clear her head.

She got dressed and made her way down. However, what she saw made her pause in the doorway. Eva was there, using the punching bag. It was clear she knew how to fight and this turned Nat on in a way she hadn't been in a long time. Holy fuck, she thought. She's amazing.

Eva grunted with each punch, really into her own workout. Nat slowly made her way toward the blond woman. When Nat had stepped into her line of sight, Eva looked at her, breathing heavily. Nat had to work hard not to stare at Eva's heaving chest or to follow a drop of sweat that disappeared between her luscious breasts. Nat's mouth watered as she wanted to chase the drop over Eva's skin.

"You have excellent form," Nat said, her voice not betraying her lust. "Where'd you learn?"

"Thanks," Eva said, removing the tape from her wrists. "Steve and Bucky taught me."

"You three close?"

Eva smiled. "Grew up together. But Steve and I always gravitated to each other."

Nat didn't let her irritation show too much. "Must have been hard when he went into the ice."

Eva's face fell as she recalled that time. "It was hard when I lost both of them, but yes, it was harder losing Steve."

Eva went to get a drink of water, Nat watching how her natural grace came through. The Widow ached from wanting Eva.

Nat couldn't stop herself and asked, "Did you ever feel you made a mistake? Choosing him after everything?"

"No!" Eva snapped. "Never!"

Nat was shocked by Eva's tone. "I'm sorry for asking."

"No, I'm sorry." Eva felt terrible for how she had talked to Nat, who seemed to only want to make friends. "I shouldn't have snapped. I just-"

Nat's hand reached out of its own accord and moved a strand of hair from Eva's face. This made the other woman uncomfortable and trapped where she stood. If she moved, she would trip over something. When Nat leaned in, Eva's eyes became saucers in her pale face. Just then, they heard someone clear their throat and Nat jumped back, surprised by her actions, but again, her face didn't betray her emotions.

They looked at the doorway and saw Steve. He was glaring at Nat as he came in and comforted Eva, saying, "Hey, Evelyn. Why don't I show you around town today? Get you out?"

Eva gave a shaky laugh as she replied, "Yeah. Let me take a shower and get changed."

Eva left, deciding to go ask Wanda for some clothes to borrow. She needed to return the workout clothes anyway. Maybe she would plan a day for the two of them to go shopping so Eva wouldn't have to keep borrowing things from Wanda.

Steve waited for Eva to be out of earshot and wouldn't accidentally see anything before turning to Nat, anger radiating from him. He grabbed her and pushed her to the wall, hard.

"Ow," was all she said, though it sounded sarcastic.

"What was that?" demanded Steve.

"Just being nice."

"And trying to kiss my girl?"

That shook Nat for a second. "It's not what it looked like."

"I'm telling you this once. Stay away from her."

"You threatening me, Rogers?"

"No," he growled, "I'm promising."
