After Eva's shower, she saw a cute dress on the bed Wanda left her. She dressed and met Steve downstairs, who could only stare in awe. He couldn't take his eyes off of her, even as he led her to his bike in the garage. Along the way, he stole glances at Eva in the mirrors, happy to have the love of his life back.

Her joy was infectious as she pointed out the strange sights around them. Steve stopped at a small cafe. Eva was comforted with the thought that it was tiny like the diners they were used to, but it was also quiet. The few guests around them were also enjoying the slow time between rushes.

"I'm so glad you brought me here," Eva said after they got their drinks and food.

Steve replied, "Me too. We didn't get to do this a whole lot."

"But that made them special. If we went all the time, the meaning behind them would have been lost."

He gave her an adoring smile. "The way you see the world astounds me. No matter how bad a situation, you manage to see the good."

"I don't know about that." Eva chuckled.

"It's true. I wish I could be more like you."

"Steve, you are who you are meant to be. You care deeply, you fight for those who can't, and you love fiercely. That is the man I fell in love with."

Steve reached over and caressed her cheek. "How is it you see all that? All anyone else sees is Captain America."

Eva leaned into his touch. "I guess they aren't looking hard enough."

He pulled back to get a drink. "Well, I'm glad you see past it. I missed you just seeing me."

"And I missed seeing you." She chuckled before becoming slightly serious. "Now, why don't you quit being the perfect fiance and ask me what you really want to know, huh?"

Steve didn't fight with her, comfortable now that it was just the two of them. "Are you okay? After what Nat did-"

"Honestly, I didn't like how she was acting," Eva admitted. "I was… uncomfortable."

"If it happens again, tell me," he instructed softly, but sternly. "I'll stop it."

"Okay, Stevie. I love you."

"I love you, too."

He then pulled her into a tender kiss. They sat for a moment just basking in the love they shared, but he could tell something was bothering her.

"What is it, sweetheart?" he inquired.

"I thought it was against the law for people to-"

"Times have changed. People are free to love whomever they want, even if they are the same sex. I know you aren't used to it but no one has to hide if they don't want to."

Eva smiled. "That's amazing! I was sad when people were looked down on just because they couldn't help who they loved. It would have saved so many lives if people were like this in the forties."

"I know, sweetheart. Now, let's enjoy today. There are still a lot of places I want to show you."

"I can't wait to see all of them with you."
