Nat followed Eva into a specialized room meant for close-quarter training. They both grabbed a hidden gun and turned on each other. The situation made Nat ill as they were using the guns with real bullets and neither had any safety equipment on.

"Eva," Nat said, trying to talk the other woman down, "stand down. I'm highly trained."

Eva replied, "Not a chance."

Everyone in the compound made their way to the training room, having heard the shouting from earlier. They were shocked at the scene before them. Eva and Nat stared each other down.

They moved as if they had practiced this battle a thousand times, both snatching the other's gun and turning it on their opponent. The fact that you were able to not only keep up with a trained Widow but mimic her moves had everyone holding their breaths.

"Where did Evelyn learn that?" Clint asked, his voice just above a whisper.

No one had a chance to answer before Nat took hold of Eva's gun again, only to kick her. Bucky and Steve knew then that the other member of their little trio would not hold back. Eva took hold of Nat, turned her, and slammed her into a door frame.

"Remember," Bucky called out, half enjoying the scene, "you can't kill her, Evelyn."

But Eva didn't want a talk on morality with the Widow had hurt her Steve! She slammed Nat into the side of the door frame. However, Nat was ready and took hold of Eva's hand and neck, forcing her into a cabinet and then onto the counter when Eva tried to push her off. She had to fight the thoughts of what she really wanted to do to the blond woman on that counter. Eva wasn't fighting half-assed.

"Give up, Evelyn," Nat pleaded. "Please."

Eva struggled a bit before yelling out in anger, grabbing a dish and smashing it on Nat's head, breaking it. This forced the Widow off of her. Seeing herself at a disadvantage, Eva grabbed a knife and turned to her opponent.

Tony stepped up and asked, "Should we stop this?"

Hank pulled the younger man to a stop as he answered, "I have only seen Evelyn like this one time and I am not getting in the middle of this."

Eva stalked towards Nat, who grabbed a pair of scissors off of a nearby desk by the bladed side. She didn't aim to hit Eva, only defend, not wanting to hurt the beauty before her. Eva slashed at the redhead, who stopped her just in time to save her lung from being stabbed.

Bucky held back a drunk Steve, who begged, "Baby, please! I'm fine! Don't kill Nat over this!"

Eva didn't hear him, moving to cut Nat's stomach, but missing when she dodged. Eva managed to trap Nat's arm, not allowing her to use her weapon, but now Eva was unable to use hers as well.

Thor, enjoying the bout in front of him, noticed the bottle that sat discarded on a table by the group and asked, "Captain Rogers, did you take my bottle of Asgardian liquor?"

Steve didn't dare take his eyes off Eva as he answered, "Uh, yeah. Sorry."

Eva flipped Nat onto the floor. The former assassin used the momentum to flip around and kick the other woman's legs out from under her.

"What is bothering you that you took the whole bottle?" Thor inquired, now concerned for his friend.

Eva slashed at Nat again, who blocked the blade with her own. She then took hold of Eva's head in her arms but did everything she could to not harm the blond.

"Nothing," Steve said, almost on autopilot at this point. "Just-"

But he didn't get to finish, as Eva broke Nat's hold by pulling on her hair. Nat tried to tip Eva's head back just enough to get her to back off.

"He never abandoned me!" Eva managed to get out. "What the hell made you think it was okay to say that to him?"

Eva finally broke Nat's hold and slammed her into the wall before the redhead said, "He leaves you all the time! And then, you get hurt with him! What else should I think?"

Eva slammed her into the wall. Nat pulled the curtain off of the wall and wrapped it around Eva's neck as she was forced into the wooden structure again.

"That maybe I understand and love him as he is!" Eva yelled out before the cloth became tight due to her using the other end on Nat.

"Bullshit!" Nat got out as she was flipped through the air onto her back.

Because of her training, Nat kept the air in her lungs as she took Eva down with her. They both struggled to get the other to tap out or suffocate. In a last-ditch effort, Eva used her foot to push Nat back and Nat did the same.

Nat knew she could hold out. However, seeing Eva's face turn red made the Widow stop. She let go of the cloth in a sign of a truce. Unable to go without oxygen any longer, Eva also let go, gasping for air when the curtain loosened around her neck. She pulled at it to allow her to breathe even easier. She gulped in air and stared at the ceiling.

Nat removed the fabric from her neck and laid back down as she said, "I never meant to upset you."

Eva looked over at her, unable to believe what the woman had said. The whole time, Eva knew her apology should have been to Steve, yet Nat was trying to pacify her instead. Eva removed the cloth and got up.

"Stay away from me and Steve," she said, her voice hoarse.

Eva walked up to Steve, who wrapped his arm around her shoulder and lead her back to their room. Nat stayed on the floor a moment longer, trying to absorb what just happened.
