A few days after the sorting ceremony, none of the two individuals of interest, Lupusregina Beowolf and Luna Lovegood, had shown any real indication that they were aware of the Supernatural World or had a connection to it. While the Devils in the houses of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw could report to their King that the people of interest had a few quirks, such as talking about things that may or may not actually exist or having somewhat unusual (for eleven year olds) preferences when it came to food.
The former of the two oddities regarding the girls of interest being Luna Lovegood mentioning something called Wrackspurts, invisible magical creatures that floated through ears and made brains go fuzzy. At least that's how Luna described them when Mare (out of curiosity) asked her about it, to which Shalltear sarcastically commented that the supposed creatures were more likely to be something that the white haired girl's parents made up to explain without actually having to explain how hormones could make people do stupid things on occasion. The latter of the two oddities actually applied for both of the two first years of interest. Luna seemed to eat pretty much all her meals in a rather Japanese manner, namely with a pair of chopsticks she kept in sheath of sorts, hidden in her sleeve, whenever she could (unless it was food where using chopsticks or using a fork and knife to cut it into bite-size pieces was too much of a hassle)… and enjoying the desserts a bit too much, namely sorbet and pudding (which she had been seen eating in the Ravenclaw common room while studying and wouldn't share unless asked very nicely). While it didn't raise as many eyebrows as Luna, Lupusregina (who insisted on being called either just Regina or her last name, Beowolf) simply seemed to enjoy meat on the rarer or straight up bloody side. According to Shalltear, such tastes were very common amongst Werewolves, both normal ones and Lycans, but not necessarily something that confirmed whether or not someone was a Werewolf of either kind since such preferences to food was something that anyone could have.
Once the members of the Peerage had filled each other in regarding the information gathered from the houses where they and the people of interest were, Hermione was the one who asked Shalltear the question that had been on most of the Devils' minds. What was the difference between a normal werewolf and a Lycan? According to Shalltear, who admitted that she wasn't an expert on the subject, Lycans could change into their wolf-forms at will while keeping their minds and personalities intact. While the presence of the full moon made them more energetic, enthusiastic and occasionally more hot-tempered (depending on the individual), they wouldn't transform involuntarily a few nights a month, unlike their more normal (and usually quite feral) counterparts. The only times that a Lycan would transform involuntarily and act like an animal was during nights of the Blood Moon. Enuma's shudder of obvious horror and Shalltear's blush at the mentioning of the Blood Moon earned both the redhead and her Queen questioning looks from the other members of the Peerage, which prompted Shalltear with great reluctance and embarrassment to reveal that the Blood Moon had the effect of causing Vampires to either enter a frenzy where they would voraciously seek and consume blood, draining entire towns dry and leaving nothing but dry husks and/or freshly turned Vampires in their wake and/or basically putting them in what was essentially an extreme case of heat, causing them to try and mate in a very aggressive and potentially lethal manner. Shalltear apparently had to be restrained using Enkidu, the Chain of Heaven, courtesy of The Gate of Babylon, during the last time she was exposed to a Blood Moon in order to prevent the Bloody Valkyrie from draining the employees of the Gremory estate dry and indulging in something straight out of a bisexual necrophile's wet dream once nothing but dry husks remained, which was unfortunately only stopped after Shalltear had sunken her fangs into and had her way with the mostly dried corpses of a male and a female servant before she was successfully restrained by her King, stopping the Vampire until her frenzy was over. Needless to say, Enuma had become justifiably paranoid about Blood Moons ever since that incident, keeping track of whenever a Blood Moon would occur in order to be ready to restrain her Queen. And while a Blood Moon would definitely happen later this year, neither Shalltear nor Lupusregina would be in a place where they'd be affected by it, unless they entered the Underworld where a Blood Moon would shine brightly in the sky.
