Chapter Forty Eight:

Stating that the members of Enuma Gremory's Peerage were frustrated over the fact that their King was among the petrified students was quite the understatement. They practically threw themselves into doing their best to either find a way of fixing Enuma's situation or vent their frustration in a constructive manner.

In the case of Mare Bello Fiore Imladris, he was working on something that merely started as a hobby but became more essential to him thanks to some encouragement. He was working on a garden filled to the brim with not only mundane plants but also supernatural ones that had quite a few quirks. One of the more interesting plants in Mare's garden was the one known as Blast-Peppers, which in addition to being one of the spiciest species of peppers in the entire Supernatural World behaved very similar to gunpowder when the peppers were dried up and ground into a powder. It was the latter of the two properties that earned the Blast-Pepper their name and not because they were so spicy you'd have to be either a being of the Supernatural World naturally attuned to fire, a masochist who got off on oral pain or just straight up insane to even think tasting the damn things.

The Nature Mage's twin-sister on the other hand was venting her frustration by practicing with a wooden replica of her weapon, which was technically a fully functional replica of a fictional weapon. During one of those training sessions, Aura was stumbled upon by a first year, a fellow Gryffindor based on the red and gold colored striped scarf, carrying a wooden sword, a bokken to be more specific, who challenged the Beast Tamer to a friendly sparring match. Despite the fact that Aura was not only older than her opponent and wasn't wielding a normal weapon, she and the first year, whose name was apparently Sumiko Hinokami, were evenly matched with the spar ending in a draw. Which led to the two agreeing on challenging each other again. It was quite obvious to the Beast Tamer that her opponent was trained in swordsmanship. While Aura wasn't entirely sure what to think of her opponent(/new sparring partner?), she took Sumiko's comment about her being a worthy opponent as a compliment.

When Aura mentioned the name of her new sparring partner to the rest of the Peerage during a meet up after school, Shalltear revealed that she recognized Sumiko's family name. Hinokami was apparently the name of an old clan of swordsmen and swordswomen who protected the people of Japan from various supernatural threats from the shadows throughout history. The reason why Shalltear had the knowledge regarding the Hinokami-clan was explained by the Vampire because she had defeated and drained a member of the clan who had tried to cut her down of their blood a couple decades ago, gaining the knowledge from the life-essence in the crimson liquid. While she didn't mention it, but the member of the Hinokami-clan that she ran into all those years ago was the only human who had forced Shalltear to fight seriously and she still nearly lost her head. That encounter made Shalltear start doing something that she hadn't thought she would ever do. Consider humans a threat to her and never underestimate them again.
