Chapter Fifty:

Something that the Headmaster of Hogwarts didn't particularly like was when his plans, especially those that had taken years of work and preparation, went down the drain. His plan on keeping the news on the petrifications contained within the walls of his school was one such plan that had gone down the drain, indicated by the presence of two individuals within his territory that didn't belong there. And not a single one of them were human. The Headmaster wasn't sure what they were, but while they certainly looked human they definitely weren't. The fact that they introduced themselves as Venelana and Zeoticus Gremory, Enuma Gremory's parents, certainly did nothing to calm down Dumbledore's nerves. Especially since both of them were clearly pissed.

While Enuma's parents were busy tearing Dumbledore a new one (and preventing his wife from actually killing the headmaster in Zeoticus' case), the members of Enuma's Peerage were going on with their day while having their Familiars eavesdrop on their King's parents chewing out the Headmaster. Shalltear in particular had an expression of amusement on her face for the majority of the time, almost as if she was listening to music with particularly amusing lyrics… until she suddenly made a face of disgust as one of her King's parents had probably said or threatened to do something disgusting to the Headmaster, the fact that she made her grimace during Potions while dealing with a rather nasty smelling accident only made it so she wasn't the only one with a look of disgust on their face, which made it so no one question why the Vampire looked disgusted, even if it wasn't for the same reason as the rest.

A couple hours later, the adults were still busy with the Headmaster and the members of Enuma's Peerage had gathered to watch something that had become something of a semi-weekly occurrence. A sparring match between Aura Imladris and Sumiko Hinokami. As the two girls had continued sparring against each other, both combatants had gradually gotten more serious during their duels. The most notable one being Sumiko who had started using the various sword-techniques of the Hinokami-clan to break the tie that neither she nor Aura had managed to break since their first bout. According to Shalltear, who only knew through the knowledge she absorbed from the member of the Hinokami-clan she fought before, the Hinokami-clan's sword-techniques consisted of seven primary styles of swordplay. The original style, from which the other six were derived, Sun-style. Flame-style, the style which focuses on strong singular strikes that cut deep. Thunder-style, the style which focuses on swift and powerful strikes, some of which directly out of the sheath. Wind-style, the style which focuses on pure offense with reckless abandon. Water-style, the style which focuses on the manipulation of momentum and flow. Stone-style, the style which focuses on standing one's ground, parrying and counter attacking. And finally Moon-style, the style which focuses on wide but fast and strong swings of the sword. Based on what the Japanese first-year had displayed, Shalltear had come to the conclusion that Sumiko's primary affinity was in Sun-style but also had varying levels of mastery of the other six styles.

While Sumiko was hesitant at first, she eventually opened up to her sparring partner and her friends, revealing that she was the last member of the Hinokami-clan alive. Her entire family was slaughtered by a single person wearing full-body armor and wielding a massive battle-axe. A battle-axe that was without a doubt far too heavy for a human lift let alone wield, meaning that the one responsible for the deaths of Sumiko's family wasn't human. Based on Sumiko's description and Shalltear's great memory, the Vampire came to the conclusion that the one response for the extermination of the Hinokami-clan was the Bloody Valkyrie's old enemy. Albedo the Succubus.
