Valerie… no, V had woken up under a bunch of junk covering her. Piece by piece she pulled off what she could until she could finally move freely, although her vision was just so jittery… in, out, in, out.
(Just stop… focus… gotta get… out of here.) and she then proceeded to start crawling upwards out of the pit she found herself in, sliding off the top towards solid ground and ending up on her back, groaning out "Ah… fuck." Before proceeding to push herself onto her front side and start crawling forward, trying to push herself up on some debris only to fail and end up falling on her face "Pfah… ugh…" and as she started fading out, she saw… Maelstrom?
When her vision started coming back in, she was being dragged over to an open area in… what she struggled to remember was a landfill by a pair of Maelstrom thugs. One who looked like some kind of enforcer approached as one of the two who dragged V spoke up "Think this will serve a purpose?" Which was followed by the enforcer examining V's body, his big red optic lighting up as he scanned her "Kiroshi optic… ballistic coprocessor… ah yes." And he picks up her cyberarm which was still attached to her body "These will serve the machine gods very well. Recieve them, they shall have their gifts." And the two then walked off as V's vision faded out again.
When V woke up again she was… moving. No, no, she could see well enough right now… she was in the back of some transport. Lucky her the windows weren't letting too much light in or her head would be having a real field day right now. She proceeded to turn her head to the right slowly, taking notice of something right next to her "What… is that…?" And then she felt her body skid a little as the transport came to halt. She heard somebody say "Prepare the Machine Gods, it is time." Which prompted V to remember what had last happened "Fucking Maelstrom…" but shortly afterwards she heard gunshots ring out, which made it suck that V wasn't even able to lift her head right now… why was she so weak? What was happen -
V then woke up once again with a start as she felt her body shift a little "The fu… transport… right." And then she heard the entrance to the back open as someone stepped in and grabbed her face to get a good look at her. Someone she recognized… Saburo Arasaka's bodyguard. "Hmm… this will not do." And he took out an Airhypo before injecting her with it, causing her to inhale deeply as she felt her body awaken "Ah, kha, shit!" Coughing a little from the rush in her system. She then sat up slowly as the man said "I need you alive, we must get out of here." To which V says "Why the hell are you helping me?" Only for him to respond "No time for that now, do you know a Ripperdoc whom you can trust?"
V was about to tell this corpo to fuck off before she felt something on her face and she wiped her hand over it… blood. She then says "Fine… Viktor Vektor can help us… hang on…" and she decides to send him an address which he receives "Take the van… don't think whatever they had in here should be in their hands…" having a feeling this was going to be necessary.
Author's note: For those of you who read my story Road to Night City, this is a completely different AU from that specific storyline. I already have an idea of where to take the start of this and I wanna say for the record that is not me shifting my focus from my original story, this is just something I couldn't get out of my head and I wanted to try my hand with.
