Tuesday July 12th,1986. A Lovely Summer Day.
One summer morning I had moved to Australia with my mom I was kind of nervous on that day though and I hoped I would meet some people around town maybe even get to talk to them when my mom was inside the house putting some things away I had went outside to get something from the truck to bring in as I did a guy who was maybe in his twenties or thirties at bumped into me and I had dropped my books on the ground he had seen them fall and then went over to pick them up then he handed them to me. "I believe these are yours and sorry about that." He had said in a dreamy australian accent. "Thank you and it's ok no worries." I had said as I smiled while sort of blushing I just couldn't help it accents like that I would find really dreamy and he was cute as well. "You're welcome." He replied. "So are you the boy next door?" I asked. "Yes I am by the way the names Dale Jennings I see your new here welcome to town." He had said as he smiled politely. "Yes true I am and it's a pleasure to meet you Dale I'm Erin." I had told him as I smiled. "Nice to meet you do you need a hand with that stuff?" He asks. "Yes please." I had nodded.
He had helped bring in some stuff which was nice of him. "Who's this who is he?" My mother asked. "That's Dale Jennings." I had said. "Wait you mean Dale Jennings as in the newsreporter on the News At Six thing?" She asked. "Yes that would be the one." I had said. "Cool Dale would you like to have dinner with us tonight since you live close to us?" She asked. "Sure I would like that it will give me a chance to get to know you both." He said as he smiled. "Yes true alright come over at 4pm tonight alright?" She said. "Alright sounds good." He said.
"Mom can I talk to you in private?" I asked. "Sure." She nodded and told him we would be right back we went into the living room and talked quietly. "I know I just met him but I think I may have a crush on him his accent is so dreamy and he is so sweet." I had said quietly to her."Aww who knows maybe once you get to know him more he will ask you out." She had said as she spoke quietly. "Maybe." I replied. "He also helped me pick up my books I dropped when he accidentally bumped into me." I had told her. "Aww that was very nice of him to help you ,he seems like a really nice guy."She said. "Yes indeed." I had said quietly. We then went back to where Dale was.
"Anyways I got to go for now I will see you two later tonight." Dale had said as he smiled. "Yes see you soon." I had said as I smiled then he said goodbye for now and then went home for a bit it was still morning so there was alot of time to get ready. "Mom what color dress should I wear tonight a nice green one or a blue one?" I asked her. "Hmmm I'm thinking a blue one like a very nice dark blue one." She said. "Alright sounds good." I said as I smiled.
"I can't wait I'm like so excited." I told my mom as I smiled. "I know you are I can tell you are." She had stated as she smiled.
