AN: Flamerunner212 I took your suggestion and changed the little section you said was a little iffy! Enjoy! (Btw, this is an AH story!)
Bella's POV
My room is completely bare. We contacted Charlie to not buy any furniture for my room, because I'm having mine shipped over.
That included my four poster bed, with my light blue sheets to match my album. I have a vanity that really only has skincare on it. I'm not much of a makeup connoisseur. All of my clothes are split between my suitcases and large cardboard boxes.
I don't know how big my closet will be, so I left over half of my clothes here. Within their own boxes are my two acoustic guitars and keyboard (heavily covered in bubble wrap). My mom was helping me out by packing up my music room, including my soundproof foam, and little sofa.
The movers have already started moving boxes into the U-Haul. My mom told them which boxes had valuable contents, like my instruments, and whatnot. It took about an hour before all of my belongings were packed up into the huge truck. The movers started driving away as soon as we closed the back door, since they were driving all the way across the country to good old Forks, Washington.
I read about the little town on my computer, and the population grew quite a bit. The population is now 3120 people. For quite a small town, it's an improvement.
I was brought out of my thoughts by my mom shaking my shoulders, calling out my name. "BELLA! If you don't stop daydreaming, you'll miss your flight!" she called. I looked at my phone, and the time was 1:05, and my flight started boarding at 2:00!
I start scrambling, grabbing my two suitcases and carry-on. I quickly ran to the car, throwing my suitcases in the trunk, and bringing my carry-on in the front seat with me. Mom stood at the front door, shocked that I could run any sort of distance without falling.
She chuckled, and locked the front door, walking faster than normal to the driver's seat of the car. On our way to the airport, I was staring out the window, watching the scenery fly past me, the green trees slowly turning into gray buildings.
Right when we stopped moving, for the most part, other than inching a few feet every couple minutes, I knew we were by the airport.
I looked over to my mom, and she had tears in her eyes, and the closer we got to the airport, the more prominent they became, and the harder she's trying to fight them back. She sees me staring at her, and quickly turns her head to wipe her eyes.
"Mom, are you ok? I don't have to go if you don't want me to! I can call Cha- dad if you want, and tell him I'm not coming, and maybe I can visit him soon," I say quickly.
Mom chuckles, and shakes her head. "Bella. I want you to go. Even if it will be really hard, and I'll miss you a lot, I have to let you go eventually. This isn't permanent. You'll come back for holidays and all that, and we'll just have to make due with that. Just… I… I have one request. Please keep me updated, call me, text me, whatever. Hell, even email me! I don't care, I just… need to know that my baby girl is ok." Her voice started wavering, and cracking with emotion at the end of her words.
I give her a big hug. Or well, the best hug you can give with a console between the two of us. For the next twenty minutes, while we were waiting to get into the parking lot, she told me lots of stories from my childhood. Mainly my younger years.
Like how every year, she and Charlie would take me to the pumpkin patch, and so I wouldn't get sick, he would find the biggest coat he could find, and bundle me like a marshmallow. I would end up taking it off, and have her hold it for me, while I played as hard as I could with the other kids in this little play area the patch had.
At the end of the day, we would pack up, and mom would sit in the back seat with me, and I would instinctively cuddle up in her lap, and fall asleep on the ride home.
All too soon, we were in a parking spot, grabbing my luggage from the trunk. My mom has tears blurring her eyes, when one traitorous tear falls out, then the rest pour out soon after. I let go of my suitcases and set my carry-on on top, and ran to give my sobbing mother a big hug.
"Mom, it's ok. I'll be back before you know it, and we can go do all the things that we used to do during holidays. It'll all work out. I'll call you everyday, and text you frequent updates," I say, trying to calm her, smoothing her hair down.
She pulls away, and wipes her eyes with the palms of her hands.
"I know sweetie. It's just that… it's been just you and me for a while, and now I'll have to be all alone for the time being. You know I have to constantly have people to talk to, I'm too much of a social person," she said, giving me a small smile.
"Weeeeellll, you could always find someone special" I say, wiggling my eyebrows up and down in a playful manner.
She laughs, throwing her head back, and hugs me again. "I'll keep that in mind. May-" she was cut off by the overhead speaker saying, "Flight 203 to Seattle, Washington may begin boarding! We will be leaving in half an hour!"
I stare at my mom, wide eyed. Where had all the time gone?
I gave my mom the tightest hug I could muster, and she peppered my face with tiny kisses.
"I love you sweetie. Please, keep me updated, and I'll miss you so so so much mom! Please call me everyday after school, or I'll book the first flight up there! I love you!" She let me go, and was wiping her eyes with a tissue.
"I love you so much mom! I'll be back as soon as I can! I love you!" I called, and started grabbing hold of my luggage.
I started walking away, but I quickly turned around, and saw my mom wiping her eyes, and waving goodbye. I wave back, and start walking to my gate.
I handed the flight attendant my ticket, and put my carry-on in one of the overhead bins. I sat down in my seat, and stared at the window, waiting for takeoff into my new life.
AN: Hi, you can probably tell that I've never been on a flight! Or even in an airport for that matter. Also, I referenced a song from Fearless! This is probably going to be easy for all my Swifties out there, but what song did I reference? Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed it!
