This Moment
Libby comes over a couple hours after she gets a call from Pete. Still unsure, everyone starts to fear something might be going on with Molly mentally. She's always had a very active imagination and the pressure to perform may be too much for her.
Pete and Sharon talk to Libby first and try their best to explain what happened. How Ollie ended up finding Molly passed out in the rain near his house. Scratch remembers hearing Molly get up, but he didn't think to question it.
That night, when they realized Molly was gone, Pete and Sharon called the Chen's wondering if they've seen her. That's why Ollie went out looking and they're glad he did.
Libby takes in all of this information. Everyone's scared and worried and she can't help but feel sad for Molly. Something's clearly going on with her and she probably just wants someone to talk to.
So Libby walks over to the couch and sits down, waiting patiently for Molly to wake up. Everyone else leaves the room, hoping Molly will be honest with her instead of putting on a smile.
Molly wakes up. Seeing Libby by her side, she starts to feel better. She slowly sits up and looks around the room to make sure they're alone. They are. Sighing with relief, Molly finally feels comfortable enough to open up.
"Libby…Thank you for coming. I just really need to talk to you. Ever since the concert, I've been feeling overwhelmed and…Strange things have been happening. I don't know how to explain it." Molly said.
Molly stops talking and looks at Libby who's not judging her or afraid, she's listening.
As Molly thinks back to all of the dreams, she can't get a grasp on why this is happening. It makes her feel even more frustrated with herself.
Libby picks up on this and takes Molly's hand.
"You don't have to have it all figured out. The important thing is that you're safe now. Forget the concert and the fans, you're here with your family and friends and we're here to help." Libby replied.
Molly smiles, a genuine smile that shows she's getting the light in her eyes back. Then she thinks about her fans, her goal of enhappifying the world with her songs. She can't just let people down.
Suddenly, the pressure hits and Molly feels everything all at once. Seeing flashbacks of being on stage in reality and her dreams. All of it blurring together into one happy yet horrific movie in her mind.
Suddenly, Molly's cheerful persona comes out as she gets into character.
"I have to do one more concert! I can't give up on my fans just because I'm feeling a bit exhausted and out of touch with reality. It's fine! It's what drives my creativity. I'm calling Andrea right now and letting her know it's time to put on another show!" Molly said.
Molly picks up her phone and starts calling Andrea.
Libby just sits there confused and shocked by Molly's sudden personality change. Almost as if it was some kind of trauma response.
Then everyone else comes into the living room, watching helplessly as Molly talks to Andrea all cheerful and bubbly. She's running away from her problems again and this time it's going to be hard to break that happy persona.
Once Molly hangs up the phone, she looks around confused by how worried everyone looks.
"What's wrong? I'm just going to be singing at another concert…Andrea and I are really hyped about it! I thought you all wanted me to follow my dream and share my talent with the world. I'm doing that and helping people. Why is that such a bad thing?" Molly asked.
"Do you remember what happened at your first concert? You passed out after the show and woke up looking terrified from a nightmare!" Libby replied.
"I found you passed out in a storm last night! You could have gotten hurt or worse…" Ollie replied.
Darryl thinks carefully about all of this, trying to help.
"Scratch thinks there might be something supernatural going on here. I mean, it's not normal for someone to just run out into a storm at night and not remember anything." Darryl said.
Molly looks to Scratch for answers.
"You're acting different, Moll. Like a complete personality change…It's all pointing to some kind of possession or maybe a ghostly presence." Scratch said.
Molly starts to feel even more confused. She doesn't think she's been possessed, but there's definitely something paranormal going on with her. It would explain the constant switches between her dreams and reality. That or it's all in her mind, which is a terrifying thought for her to process.
Pete and Sharon look at one another concerned, then back at Molly.
"Molly, we're so sorry, but we're not letting you perform at any concerts until we figure this out." Sharon said.
Hearing this breaks Molly's heart. All she ever wanted to do was help people. So she looks to her Dad with sad eyes, hoping he'll back her up on this.
"I agree with your Mother. No more concerts until we get a handle on this." Pete said.
Molly takes in their words. She knows everyone just wants to protect her, but she also knows that performing at this concert will give her answers.
Suddenly, Molly gets a text from Andrea letting her know she's here.
Suddenly, Molly closes her eyes and focuses all her energy on summoning whatever ghostly presence is haunting her.
"Molly, what are you doing?" Scratch asked.
All of the sudden, a pink aura glows around Molly. She opens her eyes and they turn pink. She becomes half ghost, half human.
Flashing back to when she was a wraith and feeling her ghostly powers coursing through her, she finally understands. She gained ghost powers when she went through the portal to the Ghost World.
Molly floats up off the ground with a smile on her face. Then looks down at her family and friends one last time.
"I'm sorry everyone…I just have to do this. I'll be okay. I promise." Molly said.
Molly waves goodbye then speed flies out the door and into Andrea's limo and they're gone in an instant.
Molly looks back one last time, pondering whether or not her decision was right.
Andrea notices this and speaks up.
"Don't worry, Molly. Once you get up on that stage and start singing, showing them how happy you are, your family and friends will support you." Andrea said.
Molly smiles, she's glad Andrea understands, even if she doesn't know the full story. Her eyes then glow pink again.
"Yeah, you're right. They'll see how bright I can shine." Molly replied.
Okay Molly, you can do this. Just get out there and sing for the people. You've done it before only this time you know you have ghost powers. No big deal! I'll just sing and dance like I normally do and make everyone happy. Just find your spark. Enhappify!
Molly gets up on stage, this time wearing a pink sparkly jumpsuit-like outfit with a jeweled pink microphone. This fashion choice was Andrea's idea and, although it's not exactly what Molly envisioned, it does help her feel more confident.
So Molly starts singing the first song that comes to mind, the song that gave her the most power in her dream, though it was chaotic. Her Snow Day song.
While Molly's singing, she changes the lyrics a bit to fit her current situation. Overwhelmed by emotions, she lets all of them out in a cheerful yet sad song about her desperation to find joy in what she's doing while leaving behind her loved ones.
"But I'll maintain my composure while dying of exposure, cause there's no way I'm missing even one final second of this concert!" Molly sang.
Molly stops singing, waiting for the crowd's response. She stands there, taking in the silence as a sign that what she's doing, who she's become, just isn't her.
Fear and sadness overcome Molly as she drops her microphone. She falls to her knees and starts to cry. The room around her starts to spin and she can hear the concerns of people in the audience, but her vision is too blurry to make out what's going on.
Then she hears a voice.
"Molly, just breathe. Everything is going to be okay." Andrea said.
Molly tries to breathe, but it's all too much. Emotion overrides logic in this moment and she starts to change. Her eyes turn pink and the bright pink aura glows around her as she starts floating above the stage.
Andrea just stares in horror. She can see the tears in Molly's eyes, but she doesn't know how to help her.
The people in the audience start running away in fear until the seats are empty.
Molly can see clearly now. People are afraid of her and that's what hurts her the most. She's trying to control her ghost powers, but her emotions are too overwhelming.
Then she hears Andrea who's still here.
"Molly, what can I do to help?" Andrea asked.
Molly looks down, seeing Andrea there looking panicked but not leaving her. The last thing Molly wants to do is hurt anyone, so she looks at Andrea with tears and a slight smile.
"Get out of here! There's nothing you can do to help me. Save yourself…" Molly replied.
Andrea looks at Molly confused and concerned but nods. She knows who can help, so she leaves to get them.
Molly looks down at the stage, she's really alone now. Her dreams of singing and dancing in an empty room have become reality and it's all her doing.
"I…I'm sorry everyone…And to my family and friends, I love you." Molly said.
