After they had gotten back to the Truck, the Safari continued on as before. Or so North and Mattias had hoped. Driving along the narrow path through the dense jungle, North was speaking on the intercom about the vervet monkeys perched in a tree above. Though upon glancing back, he saw that no one was paying attention to him. Rather, he overhead Lucky and the other kind in the back, talking about the jungle woman who had saved them from the leopard.
North uttered a sigh, placing the intercom mike down. He then turned forward, gazing ahead down the trail. Mattias turned to him.
"We need to get a handle on this, North. If we get back to the resort..." He insisted to him.
North gestured a nod of his head.
"Yes, Yes, I know. Let me think." He insisted to him.
"What's there to think about, North? They've already seen her." Mattias insisted to him.
"And you know how Brooklynn is with these types of things. She'll shout it out to the entire world if she hasn't already..."
The two men shared a glanced back at Brooklynn, who was deep in conversation with Lucky, Darius and the others. They both knew Brooklynn was always out to get herself views and follows for her whole internet persona. Both of them had said Brooklynn had the instincts and determination of a reporter. A story like Elsa would no doubt be a story any reporter would consider "A story of a Lifetime."
The legend of the jungle spirit had certainly been good for business' at the resort already. While a story like this would certainly be good for business', it would bring much danger to Elsa and the lions. And North wasn't about to go back on his word to Elsa.
Brooklynn then shifted her glanced over at North and Mattias. Causing the two men to turn forward.
"So what are you suggesting we do?" North asked, curiously.
"We need to just tell them. Explain the situation to them." Mattias insisted to North.
Brooklynn continued to stared forward at North and Mattias, squinting her eyes to the two men. She then glanced down at her phone, at the video she had taken of their encounter with the Jungle woman. The "So called" White lioness they had been referring to back at the resort. While seeing an actual white lioness would have been cool to see and to show her followers, this was so much better.
An actual woman living with animals in the jungle. And she was one of the first to ever see her.
Or so it would seem.
"This doesn't make sense. The white Lioness is a woman?" Darius asked, curiously.
Brooklynn glanced over at Lucky, Darius, Yazmina, Ben and Sammy. Kenji peered from behind her and Lucky.
"Check that, a woman in a Fur bikini!" Kenji added to that.
Brooklynn and Yazmina rolled their eyes at Kenji's remark.
"But what's she's doing this far in then jungle?" Yazmina asked, curiously.
Darius shook his head.
"Well, there have been reports of people who were raised by animals. You know, like Tarzan." Darius insisted to them.
"Maybe she had gotten lost in the Jungle when she was little. And then was found and raised by the animals."
"I think a better question is, why would they keep this a secret." Brookynn insisted, looking up at North and Mattias.
The seven teen each glanced up to the front at North and Mattias, who looked as through they were talking. The two men sharing a glance back at them for a moment before turning forward. The seven friends in turned shared glances to each other, curiously. It was rather odd that they seemed rather secretive about the whole ordeal. Thinking back to their encounter with the Jungle woman, they remembered them talking to her as if they knew each other.
Lucky squinted her eyes to them. She then stood up from her seat, making her way to the front of the Safari Truck. Honeymaren and Ryder glanced up to her, curiously.
"Lucky?" Honeymaren asked, curiously.
Lucky came up behind North and Mattias.
"Um, Mr. Anderson?" She asked, curiously.
North shifted his eyes up at the rear view mirror, which was now reflecting Lucky, standing behind them.
"There's something you have to tell us about, you know." Lucky asked, curiously.
"Lucky." Her Father said from behind.
North gazed ahead down the road before sighing. He then pulled the truck over to the side of the trail before putting it in park. He then stood up from the drivers seat before turning to face the group. Uttering a sigh before speaking up.
"Yes... yes...I am sure you all have... questions about... our little excursion." North said to them.
"Uh, which part. The fact we were attacked by a leopard? Or that we were saved by a woman in a fur bikini?"" Yazmina asked, curiously.
North paused for a moment, nodding his head.
"Yes, there is good explanation for that... But for now, we ask that this be kept secret around the resort." North insisted to them.
Everyone looked at one another in confusion. Jim and Kate also exchanged a look of confusion to each other.
"But why, North. Shouldn't we inform the Rangers that she's out there?" Jim asked, curiously.
"Maybe we can get her some help or..."
Mattias stood up from his seat as he turned to them.
"The thing is... we promised her that we would leave her and the Lions in peace." Mattias insisted to her.
"The Lions?" Kate asked, curiously.
"It is long story." North insisted.
Mattias shifted his eyes to North, gesturing his head to tell them. North utter a sigh, nodding his head to them.
"Have any of you heard of Professor Agnarr?" North asked, curiously.
Darius widened his eyes in realization.
"Professor Agnarr? The the world famous biologist?" Darius asked, curiously.
"They said that he went missing in the Congo with his wife and Daughter."
North nodded his head to them.
"That's right, Darius. And you all just met the daughter." Mattias proclaimed to them.
Everyone in the Truck fell silent at North's statement.
"His... daughter?" Jim asked, curiously.
Mattias nodded to him.
"Apparently, she's been living with the lions in the eastern plains all this time." Mattias insisted to them.
Lucky and the other teens exchanged several confused glances at one another. Darius being the most befuddled at the notion that lions would adopted a human into the pride. He squinted his eyes, shaking his head. While it was far from unheard of, lions would usually be the last animal to do something like this. Although it would explain the two lions that were with her before.
"But... that doesn't make sense. Lions wouldn't adopt a human into their pride." Darius insisted.
"They're predatory animals. And they normally avoid humans."
Jim stood up from his seat.
"Your saying she's been out in the wild all these years? Why didn't you try to rescue her?" Jim asked, curiously.
North and Mattias glanced to each other.
"Well... you see..." North said, trying to figure out what to say.
"We didn't know she was out there. We didn't found out about her until recently." Mattias insisted to them.
"And as you might have noticed, she's not exactly a people person."
"So why have you all been so secretive about her?" Honeymaren asked, curiously.
There was exchange of glancing from Mattias and North before turning back to them.
"She... helped us... once." North insisted to them.
Everyone once more exchanged several confused glances to each other. North then cleared his throats.
"Regardless, she's has asked us that we leave her and the animals in the east in peace. We owe her that much." North proclaimed to them.
"And we ask that you all do the same."
Lucky glanced back at Darius and the others, who shared the same look of confusion.
"Please, just keep this to yourselves. Especially around the resort." Mattias proclaimed to them.
"And that goes double for you, Brooklynn. Not a word."
Brooklynn was just about to argue. Only to be held back by Darius, who shook his head to her. Causing her to sigh in disappointment.
"Alright." she said.
Zazu stood perched over the branch of one of trees above. Peering down over the truck below as he observed the humans below. He peered down, nervously. They looked as though they were discussing something. Though what it was he was quite unsure of. He could barely hear them from the branch he was perched upon. Nor was he familiar with the language of man.
"Hmm, what are they up to?" Zazu asked, curiously.
It was then he saw the two alpha's of the group return to where they were sitting. The Truck started up with a loud rumbling that caused Zazu to grit his teeth and cover his ears with his wings.
"My word, what a horrid sound. How can they stand those things?" The Majordomo said.
the truck pulled out of the ditch and continue on down the trail. Zazu peered ahead at the truck as it disappeared into the foliage ahead. Spreading his winds he flew up into air. Though rather then follow the truck, the majordomo peered ahead in the direction they were going.
"Hmm, looks like they are heading south. Perhaps they are going back where they came from." Zazu said to himself.
The Majordomo smiled as he gestured a nod of his head.
"Well, that settles that. I shall inform Elsa and the others of the Good news." Zazu said before flying off back to the eastern jungles.
Elsa, Nala, Simba and Bagheera waited for Zazu's in the tree along the western border. The wild woman laying over the branch, sharpening the end of her spear. Her weary gaze peering over the jungle below. Her fears having come to be realized with man having entered the jungle. The word North had given to her having been broken as she always knew he would. As the word of man could never be trusted.
Elsa uttered a sigh. She couldn't help but blame herself for what had happen. The very moment she had let her guard down, danger had come to the jungle. As if the advent of Zira returning wasn't enough. Word had already spread around the jungle of man's intrusion. It would no doubt be brought up at the Council Meeting as Mufasa and the Pride would no doubt expect answers from her.
Elsa turned forward, placing her spear in front of her.
"He should have been back by now. What's taking him so long?" Elsa asked, curiously.
Nala, Simba and Bagheera turned to her.
"Don't worry, Elsa, I'm sure Zazu's on his way back now." Nala said.
Elsa shook her head.
"I should have been here. I knew something like this would happen one day." Elsa proclaimed to them.
"The moment I let my guard down, man entered the jungle. And they almost made it to our hunting grounds."
Simba raised his head from her paws, staring at Elsa in contempt.
"Don't be hard on yourself, Elsa. You can't be everywhere at once." Simba insisted to her.
"And you stopped that leopard from breaking the law." Nala said.
Elsa narrowed her eyes, frowning. Despite their insistence, it was till cold comfort to her. She may have gotten there in time and saved North and the group from the leopard. But Man had still intruded upon the jungle. If it hadn't been for Zazu, the jungle would no doubt had suffered Man's wraith.
"I'm suppose to be the one to keep the jungle safe. And I allowed this to happen." Elsa proclaimed.
"You cannot be every where, Elsa. None of the jungle Guardians before could ever be." Bagheera insisted to her.
"They've made their fair share of mistakes. All you can do is what can be done."
Elsa lifted her gaze up at Bagheera. Perhaps she was being too hard on herself. She had already done her duty to protect the jungle regardless. But why didn't that rid her of the guilt she felt.
"Elsa!"
Elsa, Nala, Bagheera and Simba looked out over the jungle at the sound of Zazu's voice. It was there they spotted the majordomo flying to them. The Majordomo landing between Elsa and Bagheera.
"Zazu, did you see them?" Elsa asked, curiously.
Zazu nodded his head to her.
"Yes I have. And I am pleased to say that Man are making their way to the south." Zazu insisted to her.
"I am certain they will be of no further bother to us."
Elsa shifted her glance to the south. Despite the relief that North and the others were heading south, whatever little trust she had in him had been squandered after today. Just as she had always knew would happen. Despite his insistence that it was all a so-called "misunderstanding", Elsa would never again trust the word of man.
Man had always believed themselves entitled to all what the jungle held. Taking what was never there's and go where they so desired, with but little respect for the jungle and it's people. It truly angered Elsa. Which was why she would never allow man to enter her jungle again.
"Shall I... inform Mufasa?" Zazu asked, curiously.
Elsa glanced back at Zazu before nodding her head to him.. She knew Mufasa and the rest of the Pride should know of what has happened. There was no doubt in her mind that man would return. It would be unwise to not inform the others.
"Yes." Elsa said.
With a nod of his head, Zazu turned and flew off to the western plains. Nala turned back to Elsa.
"So what now?" She asked.
Elsa stood up with her spear in hand.
"I'll meet you back at Council rock. I'm going to patrol the rest of the jungle." Elsa said.
Before Simba and Nala could say a word, Elsa leaped from the tree branch. Grabbing a vine below before swinging off into the jungle. Simba, Nala and Bagheera watched on worryingly, shifting their gazes at one another. Bagheera stepped forward, squinting his eyes to her.
Elsa continued to swing through the trees as she patrolled the Pride's territory. Surveying for any sight of man. Or Zira. Though the Jungle continued to remain at peace as it had before. As if the danger she knew was out there continued to remain hidden from her. Elsa growled in frustration.
Elsa swung ahead through the jungle. Coming to land atop the branch of a tree overlooking the jungle and the horizon overhead. She paused there, staring out over the skyline above the jungle itself.
"Nothing... why is it always nothing?!" Elsa growled, angrily.
Elsa suddenly let out a cry of anger the echoed through the jungle. A entire flock of birds took flight from one of the trees nearby. Elsa then narrowed her heard as she uttered a sigh. Her anger having gotten the better of her. Coming to place her spear up against the tree trunk.
There was a sudden gust of wing which blew passed Elsa, brushing her light blonde hair. She then glanced up as she sound a gust of wind and leaves sweep passed her, rising into the air. She the shifted her sights to the evening sky above. The stars already having revealed themselves.
The Great Kings would no doubt be listening. Elsa sighed, bowing her head.
"I'm so confused. What am I doing wrong?" Elsa asked, curiously.
"I feel so helpless...?"
Elsa shifted her eyes back up at the stars above.
"I feel like I'm failing the pride... and the jungle... Zira is now stalking the jungle." Elsa proclaimed to them.
"And now man tried to enter the jungle. You chose me to protect the jungle. And I promised you that I would. But how can I when everything is..."
Elsa then paused.
"I just... I just want to keep everyone safe. I could really use your guidance." Elsa insisted to them.
"How can I keep the jungle safe...?"
Though like before, the stars remained silent as the evening itself. Just as they did before, the Kings did not speak of this night. Though unlike before, Elsa was not at all lost at the response. Rather she knew the Kings had a plan for her. Though what that plan was, it would no doubt be revealed to her in time.
Though she had little time to dwell on it. As she heard the sound of Mufasa's roar in the distance. Calling for the pride to council. Elsa gasped as realization had set in.
"Council!" She said.
Grabbing a vine, Elsa leaped from the tree branch and grabbed a vine.
Narrowing her head, Zira sniffed the ground from which she stood. There was an unnatural scent. But not one that she was unfamiliar with. She uttered a faint growling sound as a grin formed over her face. It was a scent that she had smelt before and one that she had hunted in the past. Despite any other predator never daring to. As such an act was against the law of the Jungle.
It was the scent of man.
"Man..." she said to herself.
Zira stood up as she peered in the direction from which it lead. But she cared not for the law. Cared not for what it would bring Man's wraith down upon the jungle itself. It was her wraith that she would bring upon them. As well as Elsa and the Pride. Zira then chuckled.
"Perfect." she said.
"Hey, Zira. You mind telling us why were here?"
Zira frowned in annoyance. Turning back to Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, who were standing behind her.
"Yeah, last time we got chased out by Elsa and them last time we hunted here." Banzai insisted to her.
Ed whimpered, remembering too well what had happened last time.
"Hush. We're not hunting in the Pride's territory." Zira insisted to them
"Then what are we doing here?" She asked, curiously.
"Because Man has come to the jungle..." Zira insisted
The mention of Man caused Banzai to gasp.
"Man! Where?!" He said, glancing around from side to side.
Ed shuddered in fear, placing his paws over his head. Though unlike her partners in crime, Shenzi tilted her head, curiously.
"What are you getting at here?" she asked, curiously.
"We don't just need to get our revenge against Mufasa and the Pride. We need to make them and the jungle suffer." Zira insisted to them.
"So tonight, we hunt man!"
