Chapter 2

The sun had just begun to rise when Penelope was woken up by a stray ray of light found her eyes. Penelope was startled by the sight of the new room she woke up in but quickly realized where she was when the memories of the day before came rushing back. She slowly got up out of her bed and hurried for her house cote when she felt the chill of the morning. She then made her way to the window with the rays of light peeking through the curtain she opened them to see a breathtaking sight of the green fields and beautiful garden Penelope stood like this for a long while just drinking in her new surroundings when she heard a nock on her dore then the voice of her cousin Irene. Penelope dear are you awake? Yes, Irene Penelope replied. Oh good, I'll have Gwen come help you get dressed then please come down for breakfast. Alright, thank you, Irene. And not a moment later a maid Penelope now new as Gwen came to her door asking to be let in. Penelope let her in and got dressed of course Penelope and Gwen had a small argument about her stays until she came to an agreement to leave them half as tight as she normally wears them. When Penelope finally made her way to the dining room she heard the sound of laughing and a happy family just sharing in conversation this was something Penelope associated with the Brigdertons this made her a little sad at the thought of her own unloving family. When she finally entered the room and sat in the chair closest to Aris when she did all attention seemed to be focused on her. Good morning sorry if I took too long. No your fin and good morning said Writer.

I and the girls have decided we'd take you to our local dress shop to get you a wardrobe that would suit you better in our climates Irene said. Are you certain I do not want to burden you? Don't worry my dear it is no burden, my dear. Scott decided to add and try to relax dear cousin we are your family we don't bight. Alright thank you and I'll try. Good now let us eat May said.

Once breakfast was done Penelope was given a thicker shall for the chill in the air by Aris. Off they went in the carriage to the dress shop. This made Penelope nervous only because she was unsure of what to expect but she was also excited about the prospect of getting new dresses in colors other than yellow.

Irene: so dear Penelope what is your favorite color?

Aris: yes I was wondering the same. And please don't think me rude but by any chance would you like green?

May: ya but no offense but that yellow is not doing you any favors.

Aris gave May a stern look.

Aris: sorry if she insulted you.

Penelope: no she didn't and my favorite colors are forest green and sky blue. and I agree with you this yellow is something my mama has been pouting me in. She thinks it will help me stand out to attract a souter.

May: well I think someone needs to tell your mama less is often worth more.

Penelope: really so do you think I could find a souter with my looks?

Irene: what do you mean my dear?

Penelope: well I am a wallflower and am very homely my mama tells me often.

Aris: well I disagree you are beautiful all you need is a dress that makes you feel comfortable in your own body and then all we need to do is fix your self-confidence.

Penelope: how does one go about fixing this problem?

May: well if you want we can have you join us for our workouts.

Penelope: workouts? What do you do at these workouts?

May: well we get up early in the mornings and go for a short jog together ending it with a walk then we do some pushups some squats and then we get into some yoga to keep from getting sore muscles.

Penelope: why do you do this?

Irene: why to stay healthy and fit? Not that your not healthy but it does help sculpt the body and it's good for you so when you're old you won't hurt as bad.

Penelope: really I don't know anyone back home who does this.

May: that's because it's new to the ladies around these parts. what do you think do you want to try it?

Penelope shook her head in excitement at the thought of trying something new and couldn't what to wright to Eloies.

Once they arrived at the dress shop Penelope was amazed at the different designs and patterns and colors. The event took but an hour ending with Penelope getting fore new dresses one a dark blue one green one purple and black with pretty flowers and one outfight Irene had said was often used for riding horses but would work for the morning workouts.

Penelope was not sure about it because of the fact it is an outfight with pants but she isn't going to argue.

After dinner that night Penelope started writing a letter to Elouise. After their falling out Penelope was so happy to have her friend back considering she has no intention of trying to wright Colin when she doesn't know where he is and neither does he considering she left after he did.
