After another sparring session with Knuckle and Palm, Kite found both had tired out from their battle. Yet even then it's not enough he has barely improved from this experience even when it's two-on-one with a self-made handicap of him not using his Hatsu, due to most of Crazy Slots' numbers being lethal. Knuckle hasn't had much improvement either, Palm has shown more improvement and has even cleaned herself up from when Kite first met her, and Shoot has only been watching these battles from the sidelines not participating. For the past 24 hours, they have been nothing but training except with some breaks in between.
They then began to take a rest as Shoot provided water bottles from a cooler for everyone.
"Palm, you managed to find out where Bisky was and contact her with your ability? Do you know when she will arrive?" Kite asked.
"My divination powers are not omniscient, I don't honestly know what could be holding her up," Palm said.
As she was staring out in the distance in the park everyone turned to see what she was looking at. They see what looks to be a small blonde girl with a laced bun and a fancy dress almost looking like a doll for small girls approaching accompanied by two other people. A bespectacled spiky-haired adolescent and a strangely dressed blonde feminine-looking teenager with gray eyes. From their appearances, Kite remembered the stories Gon and Killua told him about their friends Leorio and Kurapika.
"Biscuit Krueger, and I take it you two are Kurapika and Leorio. Have you learned about the situation?" Kite asked.
"That's right and we're not taking no for an answer, we're going to go to help Gon and Killua no matter what," Leorio spouted.
"Calm yourself Leorio don't make a bad first impression," Kurapika replied.
"When Killua told Kurapika about me when they thought that Chrollo of the Phantom Troupe got his Nen back Kurapika and his friend was able to find me and told me about the situation before Palm did and asked me for them to train them so they could save Gon and Killua. They definitely are a handful yet I couldn't say no," Biscuit explained.
Kite then walked over to Kurapika and Leorio.
"You two might not be aware of this but there's a reason why Netero only wants a limited number of Hunters to face the Chimera Ants. One, he doesn't want any weak Hunters dragging us down. Two, the more Hunters taken and killed by the Chimera Ants the stronger the Chimera Ant King will become. Three, we know that how to able to learn the basics of Nen they must've tortured a Hunter to give them that information, and learning more advanced techniques and secrets such as conditions or Nen after death will make things even harder for the rest of us," Kite explained.
After explaining the reasons thoroughly Kite steps up close and looks them dead in the eye.
"Even after knowing all of that are you two ready to risk your lives for what lies ahead?" Kite asked.
"Gon and Killua both risked their lives for my sake back in Yorknew City, the least I could do is repay the favor," Kurapika said.
"I don't just want to lose another friend that I could have saved, whatever grueling training I need to prepare for I'd gladly give more than 100% if it means those two will be safe. They're just two boys that don't deserve any of what they've been through," Leorio said depressingly.
Kite stares at them for a few seconds, before smirking and chuckling and turning away from them.
"I see why they view you so highly, fine you two can come along, just don't expect any of us to be able to bail you out if things get too heated for you. Whatever the plan to storm the nest will be we all must do our given tasks by the numbers or else everything will fall apart." Kite said calmly.
As Knuckle, Shoot, and Palm sit in the convo. Knuckle looks at Bisky and leans over to Shoot.
"So that's Biscuit, I know master told me she was small and didn't look her age but I didn't imagine her to look that young, not quite the old hag I imagined," Knuckled whispered.
Biscuit then turns her head towards Knuckle and glares at him. As Knuckles begins to cold sweat.
"Crap did she manage to hear me from here, for someone so old she has amazing hearing" Knuckle thought.
Bisky then jumped in the air with a graceful flip before landing in front of Knuckle. And then punching him straight in the solar plexus.
"An old hag huh, you tell your master Morel if he has something to say then to say it to my face!" Biscuit bellowed.
"Ow, if you knew that my master said that then why did you punch me!" Knuckle shouted.
"That was for assuming what I'd be like from hearsay, don't go assuming such things from your allies or enemies. Now then, before I start training you I need to see your Ren to gauge your abilities. And from now on you will refer to me as Bisky." she demanded.
With no objections, everyone showed their Ren, their aura flowing from their bodies with some being larger than others. As Bisky walked around studying each of their Ren. She then sat down on a nearby bench and waited before getting out a magazine to read. As everyone looked at her confused she lifted up a finger telling them to not stop as she spells out in letters made of Nen saying "Keep at it until you can't anymore,". Before she continued reading.
Almost an hour has passed, as Palm was the first to fall unconscious, before Leorio, and finally Kurapika. Knuckle, while maintaining Nen, picked them each up one by one and placed them by a tree so they could rest. Bisky was impressed to see him be able to focus his Ren while helping those three out. Two hours later Bisky closed her magazine and stood up.
"Alright, you can stop now," Bisky announced.
Kite undid his Ren with ease, but Knuckle and Shoot were caught out of breath and sweating heavily from the experience.
"What was that about, why did we have to do that for that long?" Knuckle asked.
"I can't teach any of you anymore unless you are able to commit to staying in Ren in three hours. Three of you are already able to do it just fine. Yet Palm, Kurapika, and Leorio still need work. Though you three are already highly skilled, experienced, and or have received training from someone else. I am not sure if I can help you three get any stronger than you three can't already do yourselves." Bisky explained.
"We've been sparring since before you came but even then it was met with little results. And Shoot hasn't participated yet either." Kite said.
"Now, have you really been going all out while you were sparring?" Bisky asked.
"Technically no, I refrained from using my Hatsu as most of my Crazy Slots' numbers turn into lethal weapons. It's an annoying ability," Kite said.
"The more annoying the ability the stronger the Conditions and Contract are so it's no wonder you're hesitant." Bisky thought.
"As for me I won't use Hatsu against someone who won't use theirs it's just common courtesy. Besides my ability won't work to its fullest unless he uses his Hatsu," Knuckle said.
"Hmm I see the problem, Kite you're worried you might kill your allies, but you must have more faith that they will be able to survive or dodge your attacks if you want them to get any stronger. Knuckle you're too soft, the Chimera Ants obviously won't just hold back on you because you are. And Shoot obviously your problem is cowardice, you refuse to participate cause you're scared aren't you?" BIsky said.
Shoot was shaking in his boots after being figured out before he walks away, crouches down, and cries where no one can see him.
"How could she say it so bluntly? How did she figure it out just by meeting me? Was it that obvious?" Shoot thought.
As the others let Shoot be Bisky then turned to the other three that are resting.
"Though they need my training more than you three do, you would make better sparring partners for them than each other. Fighting equals is fine but fighting an opponent stronger than you get better results. It's like weight lifting the more you can push yourself by increasing the pounds of the weights the more results your muscles get," Bisky explained.
She then goes over to the three and activates her Nen ability. As she summons a cute masseuse known as Cookie. Who begins massaging the three? Much to the confusion of everyone else.
"This is my Nen ability, thanks to Cookie's Piano Massage 30 minutes of sleep will be equal to eight hours. It will not only relieve their physical and mental fatigue, and speeds up the restoration of their aura. This is just one of my Magical Spa Services' many uses," Bisky explained.
While definitely weirded out by the ability. Suffice to say they could see the results firsthand. With Knuckle starting to want a massage himself. That is when he felt a chill in his spine. Someone with bloodlust towards them is watching them. In a split second everyone began to feel it as they look towards someone coming from behind a lamppost.
"My my, I really need to hold it in when I see many strong and capable people all in one area," the mysterious voice said.
"Hisoka?! You're here too?" Bisky said.
"Yes to save Gon, of course, I can't let such a young prodigy go to waste before I even I had a proper rematch with him. And not to mention I brought a plus one," Hisoka said.
As another man emerged this, time behind everyone. Staring blankly at all of them.
"So these are all of the people meant to save my Killua. No matter, you are all no longer needed. Me and Hisoka will be enough." Illumi said.
"I take it you're Killua's older brother Illumi, Killua didn't speak very highly of you," Kite said.
Just then Illumi's calm demeanor was broken as he looked toward Kite exhibiting an aura of malice scaring everyone. Including the animals of the park which began to run away.
"If you dare to twist my brother's words about me again, I'll kill you," Illumi coldly said.
"We already have enough people as is we especially don't need you two. Even knowing how powerful you two are and seeing it up close, you're still not near enough to handle what I've faced in NGL individually. The only way I could see you two taking down a Royal Guard is if you two worked together," Kite said.
"Together huh, well I wouldn't mind working with Illumi of all people but it still sounds more like a fun time if I faced one of these so-called Royal Guard myself after I help myself to fight other Chimera Ants beforehand. I have been so bored lately that this experience will be quite entertaining," Hisoka said.
Illumi begin to calm down as his aura dwindled.
"While I don't mind working with Hisoka we don't have to work with any of you despite sharing the same goals. Killua needs his brother to save him, not any of you. And you all better not get in the way of that." Illumi said.
"Hey, don't forget me and Kurapika are Killua's friends just as much as Gon is. If you think we won't go save them just because you try to intimidate us you got another thing coming," Leorio said.
Illumi flung several needles at Leorio, but before Leorio could react. Kurapika summoned his chains and caught the needles by interlocking them with the links. And began to stare down at Illumi with his Scarlet Eyes. Illumi was surprised to see someone catch his needles. As Hisoka licks his lips seeing how Kurapika has grown again.
Illumi then looks at all of the powerful Hunters in the area.
"Oh, looks like I am outnumbered here, oh well not like I came here to fight or kill anyone. Just needed to gauge how strong you all were and to learn how strong the Chimera Ants were in comparison to us. I got what I came for, Hisoka, we're leaving," Illumi said.
Illumi then walks off with Hisoka to find a place to stay in this city. Before Hisoka turns and eyes everyone before leaving. Rating them in his mind and giving them numbers based on how interesting they are to him. He is tempted to fight them to death here and now but he is worried if he does that the chances of Gon being rescued will be reduced. So he holds in his bloodlust just a bit longer until he can let loose.
As soon as Illumi was near a tree a fist appeared out of nowhere and hit him in the cheek. As he feels the bruise he turns to look to see who did it and sees Leorio's fist coming out of a tree as if it came out of a portal. Hisoka then whistled.
"It seems that Kurapika is not the only one who has improved," Hisoka applauded.
Illumi and Leorio then stared at each other for a minute, before Illumi turns and continues walking away. Hisoka follows him trying to put his arm around Illumi's shoulder but Illumi keeps swatting it away. Kite then turned over to Palm and then gets an idea.
"That's it, we can use Palm's ability to see how Gon and Killua are doing and if they're still alive. Bisky, do you have a photo of them or anything to be able to help Palm hone in on them?" Kite asked.
"Unfortunately no, but I suppose if anyone does Kurapika and Leorio do. Luckily she'll wake up by the time they do so." Bisky said.
Thiry minutes later as the three got up. Kite explained Palm's ability and their plan to check on Gon and Killua. Luckily Leorio had a picture of them they took in Yorknew City, which allowed Palm to get a good look at them. Before bringing out her special merman corpse, and cuts herself and drops the blood onto the pear it's holding. As an image begins to form within it.
It shows Gon and Killua fighting back several Chimera Ant soldiers with punches and kicks. In what seems to be a makeshift arena. As one Ant falls down to the ground more charge forward. Yet Gon and Killua do not falter. Of course, they can only get a visual feed of what's happening and cannot get any audio from the divination.
Knuckle grits his teeth and clenches his fists. Kurapika tries to hold in his emotions and prevent his Scarlet Eyes from showing. Leorio is absolutely creeped out by the Chimera Ants not expecting them to be that freaky. Shoot is wondering how those boys can be so courageous. While Palm is admiring the boys' tenacity.
"How could those ants put these two boys through such brutality? And why…why do they still seem confident? Do not realize the danger that they are in," Knuckle thought.
Kite couldn't help but smile not only seeing them alive but giving the Ants a hard time.
"It seems that Neferpitou did in fact keep their promise, knowing that alone eases my worries. I can tell that they even improved a little after their battle with Neferpitou," Kite said.
"Naturally, it's just as I said earlier. Though while those Chimera Ants aren't as strong. Fighting these endless battles day after day might improve their aura and usage of Ren. It doesn't work as well as my Ren training, but hopefully, it will be enough for the boys to be able to survive," Bisky said.
"In any case, I reckon we continue training our Ren to be able to handle the 3-hour time limit. Before we get to sparring. That of course was your intention all along, wasn't it Ms. Krueger?" Kurapika.
"Huh, Ms. Krueger? Don't call me that like I am some old crone it's Bisky! If you don't get it right then you can just forget me teaching you," Bisky said.
Kurapika was startled and then bowed his head and apologized.
"I never met someone so eccentric as her. Dealing with her is going to be a pain," Kurapika thought.
"Palm how many times can you do that crystal ball technique?" Leorio asked.
"Oh, as long as I have blood I can use it but it takes quite of bit of blood each time to feed the corpse to be able to get it to work so I can't use it too often or else I could suffer major blood loss," Palm said.
Leorio then began poking the merman corpse.
"Where the hell did you get this creepy thing anyway? And how does the pearl work?" Leorio said.
Palm then looked towards Leorio giving a piercing malicious glare.
"I appreciate it if you did not touch it," she said.
As Leorio backed far away and behind a tree.
"Sheesh and I thought when she was nice and pretty, she's actually really scary," Leorio thought.
"Anyway, it's already night so we need to hold off on the Ren training till tomorrow. As I and my students find a place to stay the rest of you get some sleep as well. You may not need to do ren training but you still need to find other ways to train before we continue sparring," Bisky said.
As everyone returned to the hotels/inns they are staying at. Illumi and Hisoka begin to check into one as well. Before Hisoka turned his eyes toward Illumi.
"You realized how much I was interested in them and that's why you didn't proceed to kill them all? I know you well enough that you wouldn't care about the number of enemies you had as long as you could just use your Needles to control a few. " Hisoka said.
"It just wasn't worth the effort, besides they'll serve as a great diversion against the Chimera Ants while I go rescue Killua. Though yes I did thought of your interests too and I know how difficult you can be when it comes to people you marked as prey," Illumi said.
"Oh so glad you know me so well, I guess that means we can book together a room and-"
And then before he knew it Hisoka was left alone in the lobby as he was given a separate room key to his own room. He grabs the key in disappointment before going upstairs.
