Adora started her day bright and early. She had an awful time sleeping in her new dorm room. Glimmer and another student, Perfuma, had been talking all night long. She woke to plants creeping all around the dorm room. They had been up all night marveling at Perfuma's powers. Adora had learned that Glimmer could teleport and possessed the very basic fundamentals of magic. Much like Adora herself, Glimmer wasn't in complete control. Perfuma and Frosta, another student, both had very sizable control of their powers.

Adora did find it odd that she was placed in a room with all princesses. It had been made very known by their mentor, Micah (AKA Glimmer's freaking dad), that there would be no special treatment for princesses here in the school.

She dressed quickly, it was 8:45, and her first class began shortly. It was Defense against Dark Magic with Professor Weaver. Adora thought it was a little ironic for a dark sorcerer to teach the class but who would know better than someone who practiced said magic.

The common halls were bustling with early morning activity. Black and gray cloaks fluttering around in a busy hustle while students desperately made their way to classes. The blonde walked down the hall quietly. She had never seen lizard men, Magiwolves, and the multiple other humanoids. Her thoughts were interrupted by a sharp tap to the shoulder.

She spun around to be met with multi-colored eyes and a cheshire grin. "Heyyyy, Adoorrra." The feline purred softly through a wicked grin.

"Catra." Adora took the brunette into view. Her robe was completely absent. She wore the same arm and leg coverings as before, coupled along with a white button down and dark gray pants. Her red tie laid loose along the nape of her neck. The girls hand was extended out and within it was a small pastry. "What's that?"

Catra smiled coyly, "I was hoping to bump into you…. And I thought you might be hungry."

Adora took the pastry, she was indeed hungry. Catra confused her. Didn't the brunette say just yesterday that they were indeed not friends? "Catra…"

Adora watched as Catra's tail flurried and a light blush crept up her cheek, "I know, I know. I'm so-, well I-" The blonde's stare turned into confusion as she watched her feline counterpart struggle with her half- attempt in an apology.

Adora reached out her hand and grabbed the cat by the waist, "Walk me to class?"

Catra timidly followed alongside the blonde, "Thanks."

Adora smiled down at her softly, "Sometimes, words are hard." She giggled lightly.

Catra rubbed the back of her neck, "What class are you going too?"

"Defense against dark magic."

Catra grumbled, "Ew, Shadow Weaver."

Adora hummed, "Professor"

"Yeah, yeah." Catra said dismissively as she jumped onto the courtyard railing. She followed Adora closely as the two made their way.

Adora glanced over, "Why don't you wear shoes?" It wasn't a judgmental statement but she had noticed that even other Magicats wore shoes.

Catra shrugged, "Because they make me slower." Adora questioned the feline with an eyebrow raise and Catra cackled at the antics. "Watch almighty, She-ra." Adora watched in awe as the feline stretched. It was the first time Adora had really paid attention to the slender muscles that Catra expertly hid through shallow tufts of fur. She was stunning.

Catra smiled wickedly at the blonde's wandering eyes. She sent a teasing wink to Adora before leaping a few yards. Catra's speed allowed her to leap wall to wall. She swept her body into one of the opening courtyard arches and landed herself on the roof with ease.

Adora sprinted to keep up and found herself out of breath. She looked up to see Catra's teasing smile and tail flicking viciously. "Gods, you weren't kidding!"

"Fastest Magicat alive… or being. Yeah FASTEST being alive."

"OKAY! OKAY!" Came Scorpia's worried voice. "Wildcat, you're going to hurt yourself!" Scorpia quickly looked over to Adora. "We're friends, I came up with the nickname."

Adora frowned slightly, nicknames? Catra shrieked in annoyance, "I told you last night not to call me that!"

"Okay, okay, but Catra please come down. You're going to get points taken from our house." Scorpia pleaded

"Yes, Kitten. Won't you come off the roof?"

Adora watched as Catra scowled at the green skinned speaker, "Screw you, DT."

"Tsk tsk. Is that anyway to talk to a friend?" Their eyes shifted over to Adora, and they bowed dramatically. "Double Trouble, Sweetheart." They reached out and kissed Adora's hand lightly before taking Adora's own form. DT looked up at Catra, "What about now, Kitten? Is this enough to entice you down?"

Adora watched as Catra's face flooded red and she lurched towards the impersonator, "Woah! Big hug there, buddy." Scorpia said, trapping away the furious flurry of fur and nails from DT's face.

Double Trouble shifted back, "I can't have you taking away points, Kitten. I live to win." They said as they sauntered away.

"Let go of me!" Catra shrieked, breaking away from Scorpia's death grip. She snatched Adora's hand in hers furiously and began tugging on the blonde, "Let's go."

Catra lead Adora through the hallway quietly. Neither girl spoke a word as Catra weaved them in and out of the crowded hallways. Adora couldn't help but notice the slight blush that graced Catra's cheeks. They had finally arrived at the classroom, Adora had expected Catra to leave but the girl followed her into the room.

The feline looked at her, "What? I have this class too."

Adora once again took in Catra's form, "Where are your books?"

Catra just shrugged and took a seat in the back of the classroom, "I don't know."

"Catra!" Adora sat beside her, "Here, we can share."

"You're a dork."

Adora opened the book and placed it in between them. She scooted closer to the brunette, their shoulders brushing lightly.

Shadow Weaver walked in, well really she flowed in. She went straight to the board. "Catra." Her tone was harsh. "Why are you out of dress code? AND why do you not have your own book?"

Catra perked up, "Professor-"

Shadow Weaver held her hand up, "15 points away from Horde." The room filled with groans and a few cheers.

Adora watched as Catra sunk into her seat a bit. The blonde squeezed her arm a bit but the feline pulled away.

Adora sighed. She watched and listened to Professor Weaver go on about different defenses and how non-magic users can defend themselves as well. "Page 13, class."

Adora reached to turn the page as Catra did the same. Adora honestly thought the girl was tuned out the whole lesson. Their hands caressed softly but Catra didn't move. They held eye contact as Adora rubbed the back of Catra's hand, this action causing Catra's tail to wrap around Adora's calf involuntarily.

Adora blushed hard when she felt the tail wrap around her in response. What was Catra doing? Why was she suddenly being open and affectionate? A small purr erupted from Catra's chest. Her eyes widened and she let out the smallest squeak as she desperately pulled her tail back.

"Catra." Professor Weaver sneered, "Thank you for volunteering." Shadow Weaver motioned towards another student to take the stage. "Verus is a magic user from House Horde. Catra, take the stage."

Catra stood up flushed from the interaction, she hadn't heard what Shadow Weaver was teaching beforehand. She stood in front of her opponent.

"Verus, Catra, Don't hold back. You both are experienced fighters and this will be a good demonstration on the power of magic. Verus, as a second year student you are permitted to use dark magic for this exercise."

Verus grinned viciously at Catra, "Don't worry, Cat. I'll win those points back." He summoned his staff.

"Begin."

Verus threw dark black magic at Catra immediately causing Catra to fall back with a loud thud. Catra's eyes flew wide frantically. Her ears flew back. She had never been struck in combat before. Adora watched worriedly as Catra barely managed to dodge the apprentice's magic. She hadn't seen Catra fight before but based on the moves in the hallway, she expected Catra to dodge him easily. He continued to bombard her with attacks. He landed another hard blow to her feline body. It left Catra buckled to the ground.

Verus looked up to Professor Weaver, "I did not call the exercise yet. There is an infirmary if need be."

Adora watched as Verus smiled widely, he raised his staff up to deal another blow.

"FOR THE HONOR OF GRAYSKULL!" Adora erupted from her seat and onto the stage. Her forearm cover turned into a massive sword. Adora swung her sword at Verus's staff, knocking it to the other side of the classroom. "ENOUGH." She-ra's voice boomed through the classroom.

Catra looked up stunned, this was the mighty She-ra. She was at least 8 feet tall and towered over Verus.

"Miss Adora, who do you think you are?" Professor Weaver asked angrily.

"I think she's the one who stopped this malpractice."

Shadow Weaver stopped in her tracks, "Headmaster Mara. You need to understand, this is to prepare them against REAL threats! We can't be weak."

The Headmaster scowled, "She is a first year, Professor Weaver. You will mind that in the future."

"Yes, Ma'am."

Mara looked over to Adora, "Miss Adora, please take Miss Catra to the infirmary to be looked after."

"Yes, Ma'am." Adora heard the whispers as she turned her sword back into its bracelet form. She picked Catra up bridal style and escorted her out of the classroom. Her bright blue eyes bored into Catra's. "Are you okay?"

Catra looked tired and weak, she was far too weak to appreciate the muscled up form of Adora right now, "Yeah, he just caught me off guard." She nestled her head into the crook of Adora's neck. "Can you just take me to my dorm room?"

"Catra-" Adora began to protest.

"Please? I already got my ass kicked. I don't want everyone to see me in the infirmary."

Adora shook her head, "Okay. I'll try to take the back way. WIll you lead me?"

Catra murmured in response, "Good thing most people are in class again or else they'd probably be starstruck by the glowing goddess walking down the halls." Catra laughed lightly.

Adora's eyebrow raised, "You think I look like a goddess?" she said teasingly.

Catra hissed, "You LITERALLY are." Her face softened, "But, I like Adora better."

Adora blushed slightly as Catra nestled back in and went quiet. No one had ever liked Adora better. They usually saw She-ra and that's all she became to them. She was beginning to understand Catra better. She's bold and brave. She's nervous and anxious when it comes to emotions. She plays like she doesn't care. She likes Adora better than She-ra.

Adora had finally made her way to the Horde Common Room, with little help from a sleeping Catra. "Catra." She jostled her a little to see peaking eyes. "How do you open the door?"

"Turn the Horde symbol sideways and say 'Brightmoon sucks'"

"Seriously?"

"Yeah." Catra murmured through a yawn.

Adora snuck slowly through the common room and into the dorms. Catra guided her to the specific dorm she slept in. Adora opened the door to reveal Double trouble sipping tea from a nook built into the dorm walls. They eyed Adora for a moment, "Who are you?"

Adora had forgotten, she was She-ra for a moment. Adora placed the feline in the bed that had light scratches on the pole. "That's not her bed, sweetheart. That's Lonnie's. Kitten doesn't scratch up her own stuff." Double trouble pointed to a bed nearby and Adora complied.

She rested Catra on the stiff bed, their beds were not as comfortable as the ones in Brightmoon. She went to leave but a small, furry hand pulled her back. Adora transformed back into her smaller stature. She watched as Double Trouble cocked an eyebrow.

"Adora, stay." Catra mumbled softly.

"Catra, I shouldn't be in here. You know it's not allowed."

Catra tugged lightly once more and Adora groaned, she knew she wasn't going to be able to resist. She tentatively crawled under the covers and Catra wrapped around her immediately. A slight purr escaping between breaths. Adora smiled sweetly at the feline.

DT cleared their throat, "So is this, like a thing now?"

Adora looked to Double Trouble and then back down at the purring woman. "Is it bad if I want it to be?"

Double Trouble sighed, "I'll keep it hushed for now, but you two are VERY obvious. Be careful, Princess. You wouldn't want to be burned." They warned before leaving the two alone.

Adora wasn't sure how Catra would 'burn' her but she could tell that DT was being sincere and that scared her even more.
