Chapter 14

A week has passed since I lived with Sanae. We had a routine of chores and gaming at night. Which I've gotten really good at. Sometimes Kanako and Suwako would join as well for a late game of Mario Party. One time in the training room I saw Sanae looking into some sort of thing that I can't really describe (pretty much a portal) where an old lady was sweeping and cleaning up a shrine. I looked at Sanae who hadn't noticed me yet. She had this soft and kind feeling emitting from her. I stood there for about 30ish seconds and asked who the old lady was. Sanae shot up only now noticing that I was there. She closed it and with a mixture of embarrassment and shock she said " Nothing. So what are you doing here on this fine morning?" (It was afternoon). I told her that I was going to use the washroom and I saw her here. Later that day Sanae told me who that old lady was. " She's my sister," she said. Sanae explained that she was from another world similar yet different than the one we are in. She separated but she is ok with that since she's got Kanako and Suwako now. She does like to check on her old family from time to time even if she's not allowed to. Sanae then asks me to keep this a secret from Suwako and Kanako. I agreed. This morning after breakfast I was staring outside. It was a habit that only grew the more I thought about what Remiu was up to. Sanae slouched on the table with her hand holding her face up said "You miss her that much, huh". I apologize " Sorry… I know all of you have been working really hard for me… I just … I don't know… I'm sorry…". I didn't know what to say. I felt like if I told them that I would just like to see Remiu again I felt like it would be an insult to all of their kindness. Which is the last thing I want to do. Without them I would have never been cured and I also wouldn't know all kinds of things with Sanae. I felt guilty for asking. Sanae realizes just how much I'm mentally beating myself up over it. Then she said " alright then it's settled. Let's go". I asked where and she replied " To Hakurei Shrine of course. Watch me as I cast away your worries". She said while doing a weird pose. Sanae also added "and so I could rub it in that I'm better". Sanae then picked me up and flyed in the air. While we were heading to Hakurei Shrine, Sanae flying was more unsteady than usual. I asked her if she was ok. Which she said she was but, I knew she wasn't. She landed next to a place she called the human village. For some reason Sanae was sweating more, she seemed pale as well. I asked her "Sanae… are you sure you're feeling well?". Sanae smiled and said "Never better, let's keep going." The human village looked normal on the outside at least that what Sanae saw, but I could see the horrors that awaited us. There were tears running down my face. I couldn't control it. What I saw was terrifying. Sanae, noticing the condition I'm in, tugged my sleeve and said softly" Remember what I said? Watch me as I cast away your worries. So there's no need to cry, everything will be fine."
