After Ace and Graham leave the flat they stop off at a local store to pick up flowers and Ace decides to pick up some wine. "So is there anything I should know about them?"
"I don't know much about them myself."
"Are we going to meet up with Tegan and Nyssa?"
"No, we are not. We are just heading to their place in Chiswick."
"So you and I have a bit of a drive?"
"We do, want to talk?"
"I can talk to you everyday."
"It is not often I can handle talking to someone everyday, and want to. You are one of the few that I want that for."
"I am glad that I am someone that you can talk to. How should we tell them how we met? Since it is obvious we are in a new relationship."
"Let's just stretch the truth a little bit and say an old friend of ours set us up."
"The Doc in a way did set us up."
"They did in a way. I am glad."
"Me too. It feels good to feel more than just friendship or kinship again." They continue on with the drive and arrive at the Temple-Noble residence. Both of them grab what they brought.
Walking as close as possible they reach the door and knock on it. "Oi, Shaun, our guests are here." A woman with red hair opens up the door. "Hello I am Donna Temple-Noble, and this guy is my husband, Shaun. You must be Dorothy McShane."
"I am, this is my boyfriend Graham." Graham gives Donna the flowers while Ace gives Shaun the wine.
"I will put this in the fridge." Shaun goes to the kitchen as Donna ushers them in.
"We are still waiting on Tegan and Nyssa, so tell me how you met." Ace looks at Graham and sees recognition in his eyes.
"We met through a friend of ours, they thought Graham and I would be good together."
"That's nice."
"Graham, what was your first thought of Dorothy?"
"That she was Ace." Ace rolls her eyes.
"Why that interaction?"
"When not doing things for A Charitable Earth, I go by Ace. It's a nickname I have had since I was a teenager."
"You know our friend loves to say that you are Ace and Aces are rare."
"What is your friend's name?"
"Theta," Graham tries to hold back any expression as he has expression as he has never hear the Doc refer to themselves as Theta.''
"That is an odd name."
Graham replies, "they are an odd individual."
"Aren't most of us." There is a knock on the door, Donna gets up and answers the door.
"I am surprised the two of you beat us here," Tegan teases as she sees Ace and Graham on the couch. Graham, being the gentleman, stands up and offers his spot to the two that just joined them. Ace scoots to the other side of the couch so that Tegan and Nyssa.
"Why don't you sit on the arm of the couch, I can tell you are still wanting to be next to Dorothy."
"You sure?"
"Of course, I can tell by both of your body languages that it is new, and the fact is, Tegan was it?" Tegan nods in ascension, "said she is surprised that the two of you beat her and Nyssa here."
Ace leaning against Graham a little bit, "it is new, though it has been building for a while. While our friend Theta introduced us, we started out slow."
"Slow with the two of you constantly flirting to the point of it being nauseating for those who spent time with you."
"You know I was Graham's first relationship since losing Grace."
"Whose Grace?"
"She was my first wife. We were married for three years, but I lost her in a tragic accident."
"I am so sorry to hear that."
"It's ok, our friends Theta, Yaz and Ryan, who is my Grandson, through Grace's first marriage helped me through it."
"It was Ryan actually that convinced me to go out with Dorothy. I have enjoyed every minute of it." Shaun comes into the room and stands behind Donna.
"What is going on?"
"Nothing, just we have a new couple here."
"Dorothy and Graham?"
"How?"
"Just how the two of you are interacting and having troubles keeping your hands to yourself." Before Tegan can say something Nyssa sneakily elbows her. While Shaun and Donna go check on dinner Ace looks at Graham.
"What is going on in your mind?"
"One night in the TARDIS, I accidentally walked into a wrong room. Next thing I know the Doc is there. I ask whose it was. She tells me it was Donna Noble's room, that in order to save her life, in a previous regeneration, the Doc had to wipe their memories. The Doc then showed me a picture. It was her."
"You mean?"
"We live in a small world."
"Ace," Donna comes back into the room.
"Dinner is ready." They all get up and follow Donna to the living room. When everyone sits down, "I have got to say I love what A Charitable Earth does, how did you come up with it."
"I never had anyone that cared about me until I met the Professor. He never told anyone his actual name, but when I left their guidance, I had some money, and started raising money for those who were like me."
"Like you how?"
"Never expected to amount to anything, except in jail. If it wasn't for the Professor; I probably would've."
"I don't believe that for a second." Graham says after finishing a bite of his food.
"Coming from someone I have told about all my youthful indiscretions to."
"Dorothy, I have known you for over 20 years, I agree with Graham," Tegan adds.
"How did you come up with the name?"
"I wanted something that if I had to shorten it for any reason would be Ace."
"You really like that name don't you?"
"I guess I do, though there were a few years that I didn't feel like I should be called Ace. That did change though.'' After dinner everyone moves to the living room.
"I know I said earlier that I liked what you do, and I would like to give you money for A Charitable Earth."
"Thank you." Ace and Nyssa get up and shake Donna's hand both now knowing that she is one of them, hurt by the Doctor. After a few hours Tegan, Nyssa and Graham leave the house and after they get in their cars, call each other wirelessly and agree to meet somewhere in the morning.
"Graham?"
"Yes?"
"How would you feel about spending the night, you have to take me home anyways."
"I would love to, I think Ryan would like to have the flat to himself." After packing a quick overnight bag back at the flat Ace and Graham head back to her place and head to bed.
